I made a purchase online, went in to pick up my firearm at Freddie bear sports to be told I cannot take it home. Why....? The clerk taking my information basically stated that He thought the gun wasnt for me.? Ive been a foid cardholder for 2 years now and have a clean record. Everything checked out, paper work was done and I paid for my firearm. Are they allowed to do this.? Im very disappointed. The only reason I went to freddie bear sports in the 1st place was due to my grandfathers past experience there. Which unfortunately isnt the same anymore. They do the thinking for you.

Apparently Teddy Bear Sports doesnt appreciate online communication through their website. Sent an inquiry and never received a response. In todays world people are busy. Online communication helps.Ill go someplace else. Thanks.

If I could rate this store zero stars I would. I never write reviews, but after the way I was treated at this store I had to. The older gentleman was such an unbelievable jerk to me for absolutely no reason as soon as I walked in the door. He honesty should be ashamed of himself. I wouldnt shop here if it was the last gun store in America.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They go out of their way to help. They dont try to upsell you, and are honest about the firearms you ask about. I dont understand these negative reviews. Ive been coming here for years and never witnessed any of it. If they are busy, sure, you may have to wait, just like any other store. Dont expect Shoot Point Blank or Eagle Sports from a long-established, local independent shop; they are two different animals. I will continue doing my best to support a local shop.

I went in for the first time today, staff greeted and helped me find what I needed as soon as I get walked in the door. They were slightly more expensive than the chain stores but I would much rather support a local business. I will definitely be back!

Id rate a 3 if they werent so over priced and had just a little bit better customer service. Why run a business if customer support isnt your number 1 priority? This business has some work to do or they wont do very well.

They say that they have a full archery pro shop. I brought my cross bow in for some advice and adjustments. The guy there tells me sorry we dont have anyone here that can help you. At least he gave me a recommendation where to go.

Very nice old fashioned gun store feel. Not a lot of gun accessories, but has everything one would need for gun ownership. Pricing for ammo is very high compared to other places, but there is no limit on how much you want to buy. Gun options are minimal, but have the bare essentials (Predominantly Glock pistols and ARs). The customer service is not the friendliest, but might be better for regulars who visit this particular gun store a lot.

I looked at the website. They did not seem to have much in stock on the website. Maybe thats all they had or perhaps the website needs to be updated.

Went in asking about the types of guns they had for my cc. The guy was extremely condescending and told me i dont need to buy a gun if I dont know which one I want. Then the other boy worker said, yeah I dont know why people do that. I would rather pay higher prices somewhere else to get good customer service; this place wants to over charge prices and give people horrible customer service. I wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy.

Ive been to many firearm stores over the years and this is the worst one Ive been to. Extremely rude staff. Insanely high prices. Next to no inventory. If you want to pay $30 for something that should cost you $14, this is your place.

Literally just walked in with large amount of cash and told them I wanted to purchase a couple of things. Old guy wave and kicked me out. Been buying from Freddy for some time now. Definitely will not be coming back. Tried to keep the business with them instead of Eagle sports. I guess I know where I am going now. My money is not good enough or green enough for them.

All the products are covered in dust, staff is unprofessional, overall shape of the store is terrible, low inventory on guns, and everything is overpriced.

Haven’t been there only called. They seem to always have 9 mil., but at $40/50 rounds of range ammo, I can wait.

This place is great. Everyone is very helpful, especial Brian. Im pretty sure the bad reviews are fake reviews because everyone there is VERY knowledgeable and VERY helpful. Love this place. Ill be going here a lot! Oh, and youll save a ton of money here!

I bought and sold a few firearms here. They guys were pretty respectful with the trade. Little bit cheap dont expect to be a little shocked on the first offer. Guys are all pretty nice. Prices on new items are pretty fair. Id go back here again for sure.

Walked in there with a half dozen arrows i needed to be cut. Guy tells me they dont cut arrows. States on their website they are a full archery pro shop...but you dont cut arrows? Should probably update your website there Fred..

Very nice store everyone I interacted with was very helpful it was my first firearm purchase so I needed and required a little more help than some of the others and they gave me every bit of attention i needed prices was very reasonable for what i was looking for i left feeling like I made the best purchase for what I was looking for and for the money i spent definitely recommend this place and will be back again

Really cool place with great people however, their website said they were open till 8pm on Tuesdays so I left work early to bring my kids to Freddy Bear, gets some minnows, and go fishing. And they close at 4pm. Would of been nice if they updated the website.Kids are bummed, Im bummed, and not to mention the money I lost from leaving work early due to the bad info on their websiteUPDATE! 7/11/19Once again, left work early to bring my kids fishing, and again they are not open when they said they would be. Very disappointed and out of the money I lost from leaving work early. But most importantly Im trying to explain to my kids why we are not going fishing. Thank you for being so UNRELIABLE

Five nights at freddies sports

I have been here multiple times and Im always treated great by the staff. Good selection of products and knowledgeable staff. Its a drive from my home but I prefer bear archery products and they have more in stock than anywhere else.

These guys are dishonest. On their website they declare that they have ammo, and when I made the purchase, it turns out that they do not have this ammo and you have to wait it is not known how long. You dont sell something you dont have. These are unfair practices !

I walk in mostly empty store. Only 2 customers and they at gun counter with sales associate. One employee ignores me as I attempt to ask about item Im looking to buy. He says this area not his expertise and walks away. No one else comes over nor does employee get someone who knows. I find dusty item and now Im standing at counter waiting to pay. No one comes to register as I watch them sitting in back talking. After 5 minutes of no service I replace item and walk out. Wanted to support local business as I hunt all over the country. Taking my business back to big box stores where you treated much better. Highly disappointed.

I ordered a canik TP9sfx from Freddys website. The price I got on Freddys website was better than any website I could find elsewhere online. And that factors in theft (I mean taxes).So I ordered it online and filled out the 4473 the day after. And then waited for the gun to come in for pick up. The day I picked it up I walked in show them some paperwork filled out and sign some documents and walked out. Each time I was in the store Freddys employees were very polite and were excellent help as well as good conversation.I will definitely be keeping an eye out on their website from now on. The sales on their site are incredible. Ive even recommended my friends to keep an eye on it.

Amazingly bad customer service. So bad I wrote a review, which I rarely ever do. Just to keep things short and simple, I stood in one place looking at merchandise I already knew I wanted to purchase and not a single person behind the counter asked me for help. After waiting for about 20 minutes I took my business elsewhere.

Went in to see if these guys had a bow press to re-string my bow. Lazy owner playing on his phone sitting behind the counter told me that the bow was broke and Id have to get new limbs. I wasnt born yesterday. Told me the limbs would cost $300 plus and hed put the order in right away. I only payed $300 for the bow in the first place. Dont go here these guys are a joke.

Went in looking for a new bow. Three employees just sat there taking to themselves. Never offered assistance. When I asked if this was all their selection of recurves, was told in that size yes, then ignored and never helped again. This is the second time Ive gone there and had terrible service. Will not be back.Prices are terrible as well. Of the only five options they had, three were Martin Jaguar takedown bows for $299. Can order from Martin for $100 less. Ridiculous!Ill drive a few hours to shop at 3 Rivers Archery instead. Much better service and more reasonable prices!!

After reading the reviews here, I was a bit hesitant about going here. But I was also curious to know if the hype was real about the bad customer service. Well after my purchase on the first day and the pick up on the third day, I must say that they were far more pleasant than I had expected. I will say now that theyre different from the reviews that were given about them before.

Called and spoke to a man about a firearm I was in search of. Told him exactly what I was looking for, the man LAUGHED on the phone, took down my phone number and said he will call back after he does some research. Well that research has been going on for 2 weeks apparently with no call back. Useless.

My eyes literally popped out of my head while I was ringing up ammo at this place today. It was so expensive I couldnt even buy it just based on principle alone. And Im not even a tight wad. The ammo prices in this store are damn near double what they are at all the other local stores around here. It was nearly 50 bucks for 2 boxes of range 9mm. He said that was the cheapest range stuff they had in the store. So if youre looking for ammo, look somewhere else.

- Ill just say that at first, I was a little put off when I called them. Freddie Bear. ... Hi to you too? No Thank-you for calling.. or anything. However, I was so impressed with my in-store experience, that Im no longer bothered by the initial phone calI.+ I went their initially for arrowheads. I also grabbed some feathers for fletching. The employee showed me a few things to help me with my project as well as gave me tips on how to put things together and whatnot. This definitely helped a bunch. I was treated very well. The man who helped me out (and answered the phone) was very friendly and went out of his way to help me find what I was looking for. He was very social as well. Very easy to talk to. I even scored a tiny pistol keychain! Cool!Unfortunately, they didnt have the type of flip out knife I was looking for. They had about 20 total knives to choose from. The stores stock seems to be about half guns, half archery.Ill definitely be coming back here for any further archery needs, to buy gun ammo, or to possibly buy a gun. Awesome customer service. Brought a Springfield mod.2 from there and service was okay but it seem like I knew more about the Gun then they did. But the overall experience was pretty good and they did have a large selection of Guns. I would recommend it

I took my sons AR15 in to have a quad rail attached since we didnt have the proper tools to do the job ourselves. I dropped the gun off and received a call in a couple of days that the gun was finished. I went out to pick it up and the gun was finished and the gentleman checking me out told me that the muzzle brake was marred, which we knew and the free float handguard was marred. We knew that and had no problems with that. When I picked up the gun the Quadrail was installed and everything, as far I could see was ok. I was looking for the completed job. I picked up my son from school today and the first thing he did was go and look at his gun.The next thing I heard was that there was a scratch on his brand new quad rail and that it had been covered up with sharpie marker. I was disappointed that the clerk did not point this out to me and that someone would try to cover the damage with a sharpie. This was the first time I had any dealings with Freddie Bear and I am pretty sure it will also be the last.

The guys behind the counter has nothing to do with it they actually know their s*** but Freddy bear is ripping people off . I bought an American tackle of 45 Fatboy out the door paid over $650 first time I shoot it it starts falling apart. So I bring it back tell him I want to buy a different one what can he do for me you give me 425 dollars store credit plugins 225 in matter of a couple days so I by the Springfield mod2- for $700 . Yhen i go to a gun range in Lombard . Which their selling the Springfield mod 2 brand new - for 562 dollars. . So if you want to pay way more then what other places charge go to Freddy bears.

I have been there several times in the last 6 months and have always been treated well by the staff, no attitude and they offer plenty of guidance to people who are not well versed in all things related to firearms.I had an FFL transfer done ther as well and Fred, the owner, couldnt have been more helpful getting the approval sent to the dealer.
