Ed seems like a good guy and the store has all the right comic book vibes. There’s possibly one of the best collection of trades in this shop that I’ve seen in a long time. He’s got a designated area for kid friendly comics as well. The comic racks are well maintained too. It seems like there’s a good Community around this shop as well.

Just met the owner Ed for the first time, such a great guy!This place is fully stocked with all of the top and most desirable comics you’re looking for. Wednesday’s are definitely the day you want to stop by for all the new releases...but get there quick if you don’t want to miss out on something because they were busy! Which is a good thing for sure, we want this place around for a long time trust me.Come see Eddie and his amazing staff, you won’t regret it!

Great store for current books and trades. There are some back issues and the new issue selection is very good. Well woth the visit. The owner is a fun guy to talk to.

Pretty good spot for comic books new and old. Picked up Monstress vol. 1 and 2. He has some vintage figurines at way below eBay list price, and original run Batman comics in the front case. This is not a manga or anime store.Gentleman running the place was friendly, had a good sense of humor and knows his stuff about comics. Overall, Id recommend stopping in just for the adventure.

Ed and Steve are the epitome of comic gurus. If they dont have it, theyll order it for you. If they cant order it then theyll tell you the best places to look. They are knowledgeable about different comic book storylines, both past and present and make fantastic recommendations.

Great place didn’t have the 3rd book I was after but had the collection, Great store seems to have a little bit of everything but has stuff other stores don’t and Vice versa.

Nice selection of key issues. Polite staff. More marvel statues than I have ever seen in one place, and a decent number of action figures. Prices are very reasonable.

By far the best comic book store in the area. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the store is well stocked and if they do not have it on hand they will not hesitate to order it for you. Often you will find parents with their children and this store fosters a community of inclusivity and connection around the love of comic books. Even if you are there to just browse, you are greeted with warmth and you never feel as though you are not welcome there. I have been shopping here almost exclusively for comics for 4 years and I am always surprised at how at home I feel. The men who work there are always able to provide good recommendations based on your purchases and genuinely just love comics. Other stores in the area dont hold a candle to this shop.

Great selection of comics with fair prices. The staff is amazing and super helpful. They even have a section with books for very young kids which is a lifesaver for parents of emergent readers.

No graded comics. Low stock. But ok to browse what little is there.

Ive been a regular at Monarch since 98. Steve and Ed run a great shop. The product is always well organized, well stocked, and on the rare occasions that what I want isnt easily at hand, they dont hesitate to get in. I can simply not say enough for this shop, after several other stores closed down over the years in Toledo, I finally landed here. They hold book and are loyal to their customers. Years ago I had to move from Michigan down to Akron, OH. While they were three hours away I still continued to drive back to Toledo each month to pick up my books. Amazing store and Staff.

I loved this place!! I had been going to them since I was a kid! But not only do they not seem to recognize me after 25-30 years, they have failed to have comics I am looking for. 5 out of the last 7 times. Disappointed.

They didnt have two issues I was looking for and offered to order them in for me, came within a week and paid cover price. They also had the new Hickman F4 collection in the day it came out, picked it up that day. Plan to keep coming back.
