Staff was very friendly and helpful. I found some nice capris there. I am losing weight and its a perfect place to get clothes till I reach my goal weight.
Brought four name brand great condition purses almost brand new no wear or tear and a few dress shirts from express and after waiting over a hour in a half I was only offered $11 what a joke for over $1500 worth of merchandise don’t waste your time.
The selection is massive! Staff are very friendly & helpful.
Today I went to The Clothes Mentor on Niagara Falls Blvd. From the moment I entered the store ALL three ladies, Melissa, Kelly and Amanda, were there to help. I am not a shopper. I am 5 feet tall and not thin, shopping is never a fun experience. All three ladies helped me find what I was looking for. Their enthusiasm for what they do was so refreshing. They were genuinely happy with their jobs and with my purchases. They encouraged me to buy some accessories to go with my purchase. They invited me back for a shopping experience. Never thought I would say this...I had fun shopping!!!!
I like nice clothes but I find shopping and accessorizing mentally exhausting. Michaela put together just what I needed in accessories for an outfit I described, as well as putting other necklace/earrings together for me. Next time I need to add to my wardrobe I will make an appointment to have Michaela as my personal shopper. Thanks Michaela. Its a good thing one of us enjoys shopping!!
They have high standards for clothes they accept. But the selection they offer is super nice.
I’m so glad I came here to find an outfit for a wedding. Melissa was incredible in helping me find shoes, jewelry, and a shawl to match my dress. Thank you for the help! I plan on returning to piece together more outfits!
Went in to look for an outfit for a night on the town and left with so much more than that thanks to Melissa!! She was amazing with putting outfits together and pairing it with jewelry. I used to feel overwhelmed shopping at clothes mentor and she made this experience so enjoyable, that I will be back!!
Well, my experience there was not good along with two of my other friends. We sent clothes in and if you know me you would know what I purchase and wear....I dont purchase junk (which is sold in this store). We took our clothes there and the girl had the nerve to tell me that the clothes were too worn, and was going to keep a hat and a designer bag(that she was shocked when I told her ...girl thats a designer...she was use to these everyday designers) for 5 bucks. I said NO WAY. NOW I know why...what they sell, because Ive been there and walked out with nothing...they sell what I call junk clothes. I look at labels and nothing!! And by the way I dont wear down my clothes to hand them to no one to sell!!! When I give it looks new, so I just looked at her straight up lying to me...a little young chick, not knowing who shes talking to!! And my other two girlfriends...one is a suite person that was handing in suites....I mean FINE suites that people are looking for in the stores and cant find!! I can go on and on, but the bottom line is they dont take from AAs!!! A lady came in with a huge box of clothes and I bet they are going to take them and sell them...things that you can get on sale at at store BRAND NEW. And they are going to take these WORN items...because thats what their merchandise looks like WORN...and put a price on them!!! I will be back to see a manager. I was too tired when I went...so Im saying this to say...dont be surprised if you get turned down with good items and they give you a crack excuse why they cant take them!!!
Girls are very friendly, nice store.
I got a whole outfit for half the price because I came in during a clearance!! I LOVE A GOOD SALE! Melissa, Amanda, and Kelly were very helpful and kind! Clothes Mentor Tonawanda is by far my favorite store in the area! I live in Blasdell and drive specifically to this location because of the neatness, organization and the quality of employees they have
I always find good stuff here for a decent price. I have sold to them before. Once I made about $30. The most recent time I made $7.70. They claimed some of the items were juniors, which they were absolutely not, but I didnt throw a fit about it. Sold what they didnt take at Platos. Nice staff. Their organization could be better.
Super helpful and following all the guidelines by the CDC. Watched them clean the door handles twice while I was there.
I just read the review by Rhea. She must have been having a bad day because I have been in that store several times and both girls mentioned Melissa and Darien have been extremely helpful and friendly. Lets be honest, everyone has a stressful day at work where we want to quit and cant stand our bosses but its just talk and it always blows over .Both girls are still there. Everyone, including Amanda are great, definitely not snobs! Rhea, maybe its you and your attitude!!!!!
Better clothes than other thrift/consignment shops. The staff has been helpful and friendly every time Ive been in. A lot of clothes from Talbots, The Loft, & Brooks Bros as well as some more standard fare.
My first visit to Closet Mentor was great. Friendly staff, explained the process, offered to assist me, area clean and well organized. I was more than pleased with the huge selection of clothes and accessories. Thanks Ladies.
Amanda was very helpful and knowledgeable about the location of what I was looking for, she was very friendly and the girls here definitely pick a good quality and selection of cloths, very clean location as well, Im for sure going to come back and I feel ready for my job interview.
Very clean. Good selection. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Recommend!
All of their commercials are incorrect. They advertise as name brand only but thats far from the truth. They have a lot from Target and off brand TJMaxx. Buyer beware, you can find some great items but its a regular thrift store not at all what they claim to be. They get one star because of the advertising lies.
I have been to clothes mentor a sporadically since they have moved locations. The friendliness of their staff changes depending who is working, so some times you have an excellent experience and others you would rather go to a mall. There are very few girls I remember who actually told me their name and welcomed me to the store or asked if I needed help finding anything. If I remember correctly those girls were Jaiden, Hanna and Melissa. Those three ladies seemed to be genuine and kind. There have been times I have called and specifically to ask if they were working that day because I knew they would give me an amazing shopping experience. Jaiden and Hanna especially were both more than happy to assist me on finding a cute outfit I could wear for an interview and still feel like myself. since I had multiple interviews for the same job I didn’t expect to need so many new work outfits, but each time I was able to find the perfect outfit, thanks to those young ladies.I’m sure the staff has to be very friendly to keep their jobs but sometimes it feels very fake, which makes it uncomfortable to shop in that sort of environment. Many times I have waited at the cash register to cash out and all of the times I had been there, a lady named Amanda was on her phone leaning on the counter, each time she called for another worker to come cash me out. I found this to be very rude. It seemed to me like she didn’t want anything to do with customers and would rather play on her phone than help those who were ready to pay for the items they had found. She looked miserable and didn’t speak to anyone beside telling each staff member what to do and how quick to do it. She interrupted the girl that was chasing me out to ask her to do something else when she was done with “that customer” I remember specifically the girl nodding her head to answer but continuing to hold conversation with me which I found to be amazing that she was able to multitask the way she did.I was looking at jewelry and Clothes mentor also purchases clothes from customers and one of the ladies who went through a customers items asked the same lady (Amanda) to help her. Amanda proceeded to walk the opposite direction and ignore the question, another girl walked up and assisted her in the manner Amanda should have. After hearing this, i asked to speak to the manager and the girl said yes, let me to get Amanda. I immediately turned around and walked out of the store. She absolutely should not be a manager. She was not only ignoring customers but also her employees.Overall clothes mentor is a good place to shop, the girls who work there make the experience worth it or not. So if anyone is thinking about going just make sure a great employee is working that day and you will have a great experience. If not, don’t go.
The ladies that work there are very snobby. You get better service at the salvation army across the street!
This shop is as well stocked as any consignment shop can be. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a good variety of clothes for multiple age levels here.
I also found the staff snobby, and its a big pain if you want to try on clothes, because you have to keep asking permission. The staff hangs at the front of the store, the dressing rooms are at the back, you have to keep walking all the way to the front, wait to get their attention, then wait till they feel like helping you, and for them to walk all the way back to the dressing rooms, over and over--they need a better system. But the clothes are nice.
Wasted trip..i have all nice clothes..the only want name brand clothes, its not worth it! I was offered 12.00 for 3 blouses, 2 jackets..my items cost well over that..No deal! Also the used items are all over priced! Ridiculous...Plato closet isnt any better..if the clothes arent name brand, dont waste ur time...again everything is over priced! My Opinion!!
Decent selection and variety of clothing, staff is helpful and polite!
The service is very good. Weekends & Mondays are rather busy here!
I like this place the prices are reasonable the layout of it is completely confusing the first time in there I couldnt find the plus-size rack of course I found it a whole three racks in the back corner of store. So if your plus size the shopping is very limited.
I never fail to find nice, affordable clothes here. I recently started a new job and was able to find numerous outfits in my price range. I also sell some clothes here every once in a while and the workers are always super nice and courteous. You can use the money to buy clothes there or take the cash.Sometimes I feel like they might be a little too picky with what they will or wont accept. I have had numerous occasions, as well as some friends of mine, who have brought in designer clothes within their one to two-year timeframe and they do not accept them yet I see target and Walmart brands on their racks.Either way its an awesome store that I recommend to every one!
I love this store. The staff is friendly and helpful, the selection is great - the only problem I have that I tend to spend hours there because I find so many wonderful things to try on! Luckily we live far away, so I only get to do this every so often, but I have stopped buying clothes until I have checked if I can get what I need here, and most of the time I can. What I like most is that they seem to curate their selection very well, the items are in excellent condition and do not at all feel like they have been worn before. And I have watched them talk to customers who were bringing things in to sell, they are so diplomatic there, though I am sure it is easy to offend someone when you have to tell them that their items are not suitable.Last trip I bought a beautiful grey wool suit jacket (think the good wife) for $16, and two sundresses for $12 and $10 each as well as a pair of grey pants ($10) . They have a section with designer clothing (White House/Black Market, Chicco, cant remember who else but a couple more) still very reasonably priced. Love their shoes, too, great selection.
Certainly a lucrative business. Extremely rude and snobby staff along with a fine print thatll make you laugh. As soon as you sign the waiver they provide you, your clothes now belong to them and they can cheapskate you as hard as they want. Fifty dollars for 18 items, most of them still having the tags on and being Ann Taylor? What a joke. This was at the Transit location.
Brought in clothes on hangers and folded in bags with handles. They handed them back to me like garbage in a garbage bag, all unfolded and balled up. What they wanted to take they offered so little, I brought it to another consignment shop in williamsville and they offered me almost double. The staff is snotty, rude and disrespectful. I’ll go someplace else for better service any day.
Love it here. Everything is more than reasonable and the staff super helpful!
Very busy store. They dont offer much money for clothing.
Good selection and prices.
