A fabric store and sewing notions. With the decline in fabric stores JOANN Fabrics still has the fabric, patterns and notions the for home sewing. I have found the staff knowledgeable and friendly.

The air conditioning is non existent in this store, it feels like walking into hell. I had to special request my fabric be cut the proper way on the folded edge, and the cutting counter worker was incredibly rude about it being the wrong way despite the fact she had just miscut two of my other fabric pieces giving me significantly less than I was paying for and very uneven janky cuts. When cutting you can unroll the proper way on the counter with the folded edge coming from the roll to cut without it being left handed. Please train your cutting counter workers to cut and measure properly, to know what the yardage measurements are for the scanners (3 quarters of a yard equals .75), and to not to be rude to a guest who is requesting the fabric be cut the correct way.

I went into the store in search of holiday fabrics for the purpose of making bandanas and photo backdrops. I will admit that I wasnt super impressed with the selection of holiday prints, but it was close to Christmas when I went, so I imagine much of the fabric had already been picked over. The lady at the cutting station told me she was just about to clock out and I thought I was going to have to wait for another employee to help me. However, after realizing the relieving employee was no where to be seen, she went ahead and helped me anyway so I wouldnt have to wait around. The cashier who checked me out was also very nice.

Pretty cool place. Especially if your wife (husband, partner in crime) likes to make lots of stuff. Because stuff to makes stuff, they have! Good deals and selection. Easy to keep your better/worse/other half entertained

I can nearly always find what I need at Joanns -- fabric, crafts, seasonal decor. This time I needed advice on color/fabric matching to finish a dress for my granddaughter. The sakes woman was super friendly and helpful. All staff were correctly masked. Of the three craft stores in Topeka, Joanns is my go-to!

Love this place, huge selection of fabrics, yarn and crafting items. Theyre a little expensive but you can get coupons on their app so it helps a bit. Masks are always worn by employees and customers. Employees are also very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

I want to shout out to Amy at Joanns in Topeka! She knows I’m a frequent business customer and that I visit several times a week. When my Cricut died and there appeared to be none, even on Cricut’s own website, she came through for the win! She found one in Arkansas and had it delivered in less than 24 hrs. She knew it was critical to keep my business running saved me from hours and days of catching up on old orders. In addition, there appears to be new management at this location and everyone is so pleasant and accommodating. It really makes such a difference to shop there now. I’d highly recommend this store!

Clearance sale. Id give 5 if staff was friendlier. They are fine, just not as sweet & attentive as Ive experienced in small-town stores. Selection was reduced. Ive been in before when I could find almost any print imaginable, Harry Potter, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc. Must be selling out quickly while people are sewing their own masks.

Great selection of materials. Staff was friendly and informative. I did notice allot of empty stock locations on some of the racks.

Lots of colors throughout the store. Some of the prices are awesome. Some are way too high. The staff is really nice. They have a great selection and you can order online and pick up in store if you dont find what you want. I could live there with all the great crafty things they have. They dont have everything but they are darn close to it. I could use more solid colored / non-repeat patterned quilting cotton for clothes. Thats probably my biggest complaint which isnt too bad.

The staff is always so wonderful and patient when Im in, and help me find what Im looking for. Sales and coupons add to the experience, and it seems like some sale or other is always running so its good to visit often.At the moment theyre closed due to COVID-19, but curbside pickup is currently being offered. When I got my order today, I also received complimentary Easter items and was pleasantly surprised! Theyre really going above and beyond to add a little good cheer in a time of turmoil, and I cant thank them enough.

The staff were VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY!! They helped me search the ENTIRE STORE for a specific type of fabric! SHE FOUND WHAT I WANTED!!! I have to say, though, the checkout was pretty slow, though. I think it had to do more with a particular customer than the ones at the register, however. I have a love/hate here! The best Joanns in Kansas! The fabric is always organized and clearly sorted. I shop here all the time for work and would visit this location before any of the Kansas City stores.

Its not the people working as it is the company and decisions to how to put sales and prices. Items will be marked as a sale or clearance (sign on the shelf as well sometimes). However, once I go to purchase the item and point out the sign and price on the item Im told its incorrect or that the sign isnt correct? Its felt more dishonest in the last couple years as this seems to get worse. Ive stopped shopping at these stores unless there is an item I absolutely cant find anywhere else.

The best place in Topeka for sewing supplies. They have an absolutely amazing array of fabrics, its almost overwhelming. They have everything you need to make a new dress or to make a new plushie. Cannot recommend this store enough.

I would give them zero rating if possible. Extremely rude when trying to find a specific product. No help, basically a bunch of ladies who think they are better than everyone. I will never return and never recommend doing business with this company. Go to hobby lobby or shop eBay Amazon before venturing into their lair. Might get your head bitten off just for asking where the silks are.

Always the place I have asked for help for many, many years. The workers are always helpful and friendly! My go-to place for crafts and ideas for grandchildren.

Lots of items for lots of different crafts; painting, jewelry making, floral, cake and cookie decorating, scrapbooking. Maybe others I never noticed. A huge array of fleeces and quilting needs. Good selection of actual clothing fabric, more than anywhere else, although thats not saying much these days. Wish they had more, but they have to follow the market demand. This location is larger than others in the area, notably Lawrence, so they offer more choices. I am in there often.

I generally find what I need. However I bought a refillable marking pencil I love but they dont carry the refills. I was told to go online, its not online either. Ive asked questions and the sales person at the cutting counter obviously had NO sewing experience. Yes, I too get tired of the attitude I get when I need assistance or salesclerks are standing socializing instead of assisting someone who obviously needs help. Prices are only reasonable if you have a coupon.

Always something on sale, o I always find what I need at a good price. Helpful staff, tons of fabric for quilting, clothes making, as well as all kinds of crafting supplies.

They do a great job of keeping the store organized and clean. I have never encountered an unpleasant employee. They always ask about your project and keep talking to you while they cut your fabric.

Prices are high. When you get a good coupon- 60%!!, chose your item which is not marked as being on sale, then you get to the checkout and magically it is on sale voiding your coupon and the sale price is much higher than it would have been with the coupon. Bait and switch anyone?

They are back and lots of unique and beautiful and inexpensive fabrics too choose from.

I pick up fabrics and supplies from JoAnns located within a large radius of the KC area for my fiancees business and the Topeka store is by far the worst to deal with for the both of us. The past couple of times Ive gone through this store were met with impersonal and incompetent staff that toed the line with being flat out rude and condescending. Going to avoid this store like the Rona from now on.

I took a Lazy Pants sewing class at Joanns in Topeka. The class was very informative and fun. The one downside to the class was the cost of the materials, though. Neither the staff nor the instructor informed the class participants that the materials would cost at least $35+ on top of the fee for the class. Similarly, we werent told about the need to use coupons at Joanns in order to pay a reasonable price for items. I think the class would have been more enjoyable had Joanns and the instructor been more forthcoming about the costs of materials.

They have a lot of variety of fabrics to choose from. Their employees were accomodating. And Im really happy that they give 10% discounts for military. The ordered online and pick it up in their store near me is very helpful for like me, a busy mom.

I always love shopping here. They have Soooo much fabric to choose from and are actually decently priced. One downfall though is when you do need help staff is really hard to find or theres just one and you end up waiting in a line for awhile.

I only have two small gripes that keep me from adding that 5th star. On more than one occasion, the app told me that something was in stock. Id go there and find that it wasnt. I know how hard it is to staff almost any position anywhere. The staff that is there is friendly and mostly effective, but that wait for checkout is grating. Everyone, myself included, has coupons and their phone out with the app open champing at the bit. Even though I cursed under my breath about how chatty someone was being while 5 people were lined up behind them the staff is so damned friendly that I talked of things that were not germane to the transaction. Perhaps I should accept this time, prepare for it, and practice some meditative presence of mind while I wait to pay for my craft picks. Well, there you have it, boys...5 stars indeed.
