Came looking for a card game, which they didnt have, but i was given a couple other locations in town that may have it. Very friendly and very helpful. And they have an excellent selection of board games!

Very disappointed they have taken the bargain tables away. I will not be back as I still can go to local library for free. Love my own books but cant afford 25- for books every time I want new book.

What can I say; I like B&N.Quiet, clean, inviting. Friendly staff. Has a nice coffee and snack area.Kids section is good. Has music selections, though Ive never used.Staff is willing to order most things you want that they dont have. Prices average for the chain, which is generally on the high side.

Good..but need more chairs around. I realize it is due to the virus but will be nice once they get back to adding chairs here and there.

I enjoy B&N except the memory / notion theyve replaced hometown bookstores over corporate ..

Nice clean. Loved the STEM section. My kids found the books they were looking for. I also found a few cute items for my desk. My only disappointment was the Starbucks inside. They had no ingredients to make the drinks I wanted.

I normally love coming here because the staff is always nice and helpful, but today cashier Merielle was very snippy with me, accused me of cutting the line when there was no one, and tried to tell me I didn’t have a membership. I won’t be back here for a while, I’d rather drive 60 miles to Books a Million in Manhattan, KS

It really is annoying that the Starbucks in BN wont take a Starbucks card. 🤨Love browsing the books but they are pricey!

Barnes and Noble is a great place to get gifts, the have a wonderful selection of books, puzzles, gifts for kids. It is my first stop for birthdays! 5 Stars.

Great gift ideas. I had to restrain myself; felt like getting everything in sight. Friendly staff.

Very open feeling with plenty of light. Store is well organized with book subject areas well marked with overhead signs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a coffee cafe but not sure if it is open because of the virus. There are following CDC Covid-19 guidelines and masks are required. They have removed the seating areas within the store. Very nice Barnes and Noble, I enjoy shopping there.

Other than having the magazine I wanted filed in the wrong section it was ok. At least they had it.

The store itself is amazing. Always has been. However the failure of the employees to be properly educated on the federal mask mandate is wildly plain to see. I understand store have policy’s but when those policies go against federal law then they are wrong. Plain and simple. The employees need to read up on the exemptions and realize they can’t enforce a policy that breaks the exemptions. Employees make or break a store and right now it’s breaking it.

A wide variety of books, magazines, videos, and some activities and games. I like to check in periodically to check on the Clearance shelves. Pleasant check-out personnel.

I used to really like Barnes & Noble and had a membership for many years. But after todays visit, I will not be going back. Without going into details, I can just say that they have changed a lot of their selection in certain areas, and it no longer represents any of my values or interests.

Every time I go in there, I always find something I want to buy and take home. I am slowly collecting my own home library from Barnes & Noble. They have a little bit of everything and more. They have a coffee shop-a great place to take a seat and breathe after a hard day as its always quiet inside. Overall good store. 👍UPDATE: Went in there today looking for a book on witchcraft. Asked an employee if she could help me find it, and as soon as she heard the word witchcraft, her face went white, then she made a cross with her fingers at me and hissed... then refused to show me where the book was. I just left and bought it on Amazon for $10 cheaper. This place has its ups and downs for sure.

A bookstore in Topeka is surprisingly rare. Glad to have a place where you can actually ask a human being a question and theyre reasonably knowledgeable. I was helped by the manager Jennifer and she knew what I was looking for even though I didnt. I walked out spending more than I anticipated with no regrets. If you read this review that was a paragraph long than you too would appreciate a quality bookstore.

Found one of two books, I was looking for. But found a magazine that I thought was no longer being published.

Excellent customer service! I went in for a newly released CD and they only had one left that was reserved for someone else. They went above and beyond to help me get it ordered and shipped straight to my home & I even got a coupon for a free cookie on my next visit 😊 Im very impressed with my experience today, will definitely return.

I mean, I wanted a quiet place full of books that was fairly well organized and thats exactly what I got.Not to mention the customers followed mask guidelines very well and the staff were very patient and helpful.

Only knock on Barnes & Noble is the price. I can buy these books at much lower prices elsewhere. Would love to see some kind of pricing overhaul because its a no brainier to buy a book online for $5 that cost $20 at B&N

Some books were disorganized and employees were scarce to answer questions, but it was Sunday so no big deal.

As like most large book stores you will get professionalism and a very clean building. The atmosphere here is almost library like. With a magazine section and clearly marked sections.

Not much help here. Starbucks in this place sucks and does not make good drinks. Slim pickings on books.

What a disappointment to drive 60 miles from Manhattan Kansas on New Year’s Day 1/01/21 when calling the store & getting the operator mentioning New Years hours 10a-8pm. Arrived at 620 pm to a CLOSED Barnes and nobles.

Staff is really helpful. Always eager to help. Hours change 3-16-2020 to 9 a.m.-6p.m. Just a heads up that this will be until further notice

Most of the seating is gone. The main reason I shopped there instead of online is so I could spend the time perusing carefully to get what I really want. I buy 4 or 5 periodicals each month and at 12 to 20.00 a pop they need to have content which means I need to really look them over. Same with the books I purchase. If there is no place to sit, I leave.

You can count on a good experience at Barnes and Noble. The staff is friendly ans knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The store is clean and welcoming.

One of the better coffee shops in town. Its a Starbucks, in a bookstore.Nice place to buy a hot cup, and peruse your favorite book. And unlike most Starbucks, it has a fair amount of comfortable seating.And unlike the World cup, or the blackbird, it hasnt evolved into a working daycare center full of children, who cant be exposed to adult themes or language.

I love barnes and noble. Could spend hours in here. Its clean the bathrooms are normally clean. It is a hit or miss on customer service. You can spend a lot of time just looking for someone to help you find something you are looking for.

I love this store. Its large and spacious, the cafe is always cooking and smells delicious, and has lots of spaces to work in. The staff are also friendly and if you need any book, usually you can find most things here. Also, that cheap book section is the best!

I love Barnes and Noble. I really prefer to shop locally when I can, and B&N makes it easier. Excellent selection; books, music, puzzles, lots of toys and games. The staff is very helpful. The Cafe is always a nice stop. I even go there for lattes when I dont need anything else.

We really like to come here to let the kids pick out books every once in awhile. I personally will buy my stuff through Amazon but it is still nice to come here and browse through different sections. And if you need something immediately this would be a good choice, but if you can wait a few days you can usually find stuff cheaper on Amazon.

I went to B&N to get some Tarot cards and found exactly what I was looking for. I talked to a nice woman who guided me to where the cards were and was helped by a nice gentleman at the front who informed me about the rewards club which I politely declined but appreciated the offer. A good place to go, with helpful staff, and a calm atmosphere.

I liked looking at all the products, but they are always understaffed. I shopped in the music department, stood around for awhile waiting for someone to take my money, but there was no one around. As I was leaving the department, the security buzzers went off, which was very embarrassing for me. THAT was when I first saw an employee who told me to go to the front to check out. Once there, I had to stand in line behind 4 other customers, despite the fact that there were over 6 other registers! Ridiculous! And they DO NOT TAKE GOOGLE PAY!????

I phoned ahead & they had my books waiting for me. So nice to walk in & see extraordinary inventory, selections and staff with answers. Best little BIG store in Topeka. Makes one fall in love with books and writing materials all over again.

So relaxing and people help whenever I need help
