Horrible customer service. Tried to getta loan on a 1700$ item they told me theyll offer me 30$ tops bc they have ALOT already I guess then I found 2 items was going to purchase and noticed they were acting funny which was aquard and I asked over and over again what the issue. And they refused to tell me until they rang up my items and swiped my SSI debit card then went and took my items and placed them on their back counter. And told me that it was about an incident that happened almost 3yrs ago I had a tablet I knew Id get a loan for 50$ each time bc I continued to get a emergency loan and always paid back. Well long story short, the item I had bought from someone it I guess came from a school where 17 more was stolen. I was in shock. I of course got my end situated with the police about it not being any of my fault but since they took it they are JUST NOW ALMOST 3YRS LATER (and Ive shopped and pawned alot since then) wanna play me like that!!! After taking my paid for items told me once I pay the rest now of the 55$ I can purchase items again w no problem. Is that even legal??? Ontop of all that all in and around the dollar bin, its full of cockroaches!!!!! Ughhhh!!!

The worst. Absolute worst. Once they see youre interested in something, the price goes UP! Suddenly, you cant even buy it at the price they advertised. AVOID at all costs. These folks will rip you off.

Bought a diamond tennis bracelet for $400 they supposedly tested it right then and there but when I took it to integrity they said it was 9grams of gold and the diamonds where moissanite.

They are scam artist! They will try and RIP you off in a heartbeat!

Im fleet and take that Way I have good experiences at Capitol City on its a great place to pawn stuff its a great place to pick up stuff at a good price and their store is like amazing so I would definitely take to check that out.

I want to start off by saying I understand they they are not in the best part of town. I went in to look at what options they had on used guns. I went in and there were four employees behind the counter. Not a single on asked if they could help with something. I looked around for about five minutes then this old man named Allen I believe asked... is there something you need. Not to mentions it was in a tone of voice like he was annoyed a customer was even in the store. I asked him about one pistol they had in the case. He took a deep breath and said let me guess you want me to take it out. I wont lie even though the the pistol gen 4 glock 19 came with no box and one mag. The price was right. I was about to buy it. Then I thought to myself if the old man didnt want to take it out of the case I could only imagine his attitude doing a 4473. So I went and talked to the manager. He said he would talk to his boss.....which I doubt as well. Capitol city used to be one of my favorite pawn shops....

You can also pay and view your current pawns through this app.

So Ive waited 4 weeks for a response. Pawned a nice guitar, in a case with strap. When I picked it up I noticed a lot of scratches that were not on it when I pawned it. The general manager of the stores whom Ive known for years and had helped in my own business, assured me nobody touched it how ever when he showed me his picture the day I pawned the strap was in the case, it was missing when I picked it up. When I went to find a picture pre pawn he walked off and ignored me, began helping other people. Knowing full and well things were missing by his own proof photo he acted this way. I felt like every portion of our professional relationship meant squat to him and I was nothing more than an avoidable problem. I wrote their website and I guess they figured I would just go away. Ive been a customer of literally all of your locations as well as my children, I went to you in a pinch and paid more dearly than I had ever expected. Whom I thought was a friend flat turned his back on me. Ill never do any type of business there again. This was the worst show of customer service and pure neglect Ive ever seen. Damaged and stolen property with proof and this is what I got. Never again.

I came here looking for school supplies this year a few times and it was nothing like it was the first few times I had visited this store. I would come here and instantly have a great experience at the door the staff greeted me as friendly as possible salvador and josh amazing, Alex and Tim so helpful there where a few more that where great too. I dont know if its due to the two jerks as managers who talk down to the people they are helping and to the staff in front of everyone but 90 percent of the current staff are new, untrained or just rude not only did the staff change but so did the policys and tone of the store. each time I have came in recently I have not been greeted my questions were not answered. At one time I would have gave this store a 5 but it gets a 2 at most.

All of the Capitol City Pawn Locations are Horrible! They give you whatever they feel like giving you at the time and give bs excuses on why they cant give you the price of how much it should be. Not only that I brought in a 32in tv and they took it down as a 26in when I told them they was wrong they just lowered the price thats the best I can do I dont recommend any of the locations!

I brought in a laptop thinking i would get decent price,the laptop was valued as 700 dollars from the look up on ebay, buy it now on ebay, which is what they use as a research for value, be careful cause there gonna try to shot a low price like 100 dollars price and from what i saw they only showed action stuff which is not allowed and is lying to good working people make sure they have it on buy it now, they are crooked,they give maybe 10 percent whats its worth and legally they should be giving 25 percent

Honestly, I have been going there for quite some time, and have NEVER had a problem with them. They have worked with me a few times! They are always so polite and funny! Plus, the dvd sale is awesome! This is by far the best pawn shop in Topeka in my opinion!

Everytime i go in and shop or need something to help out until payday, they always have helped me out. Really the best in Topeka and great staff plus a really nice and clean shop.

We were in shopping for a new (used) bicycle. We werent impressed with the brands this location had to choose from so we went in to ask where they were hiding the Treks and Specialized. Turns out most of their higher-end bicycles are sent to the Washburn location (for some reason). The staff at the Topeka Blvd location knew this and told us and even called their Washburn location to see what they had in stock before sending us over there. We were very impressed with his service but were shocked once we saw the prices at the other location.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do NOT go to this location. Staff person and manager were rude, condescending and insulting, when presented with some items I wanted to sell. Though busy with another customer at the time, the manager refused to even LOOK at what I wanted to sell, and refused to even talk to me. (I know he was busy. I wouldve waited my turn.) And, the staff person helping me had the audacity to refer to my items as weird, because they are non-mainstream items that they arent familiar with. If its not a gun or a power tool, they dont want to be bothered, and will rudely turn you away. EXTREME attitude in that place, bordering on hostility. Do yourselves a favor, readers, and stay away from there! UPDATE: I complained via e-mail to the owner. Never got a reply.

Hours say they close at 5pm and it’s 4pm doors locked and closed . Hmmmmmm

If customer service was good, I would give it a 5 star. The ginger, heavy weight looking dude had an attitude.

**EDIT 11/30/2020**This place has improved drastically since this review was posted. They actually have employees that help out and acknowledge you.OK where to start?1. The place looked very messy and cluttered.2. I went to the gun counter to wanting to look at a few firearms. There were at least 4 people behind the counter. 1 person was actually helping one of the 10 people in the long line that was going around the store. the other three were standing talking to each other. No one came to help me and i know they saw me due to making eye contact with all of them. I know i could have asked for help but in a retail setting an employee should offer assistance to the customer especially if they arent busy. I stood there for around 20 minutes before taking a lap around the store and leaving. Did i mention it was dirty and cluttered. also very poorly lit.3. some of the firearms arent priced fair at all. i.e. a taurus m85 revolver looked very used selling for $330 when i can get a brand spanking new in box one for right around $250.will never go here again. the one in manhattan ran by capital city pawn under the name wildcat pawn is FAR superior.

Out if all the capital city pawn shops in Topeka the one on 17th is THE WORST. The workers are rude and all they do is stand around while only one person helps them out. Buying or pawning they dont seem knowledgeable of their product. They are lazy and all them need to be fired and bring in new workers who actually WANT TO WORK.

Was inside store for 15min and no one even acknowledged I was there. Everything I looked at was extremely overpriced. In some cases they were asking more than what you can get it brand new at the store for. Will never return to capitol city pawn and jewelry ever again.

Yup, its a pawn shop. Its fun to look around and buy random things. Some things are a little pricy and some a great deal. Some things I sell I get a great price on and others I dont. Everything I expect from a pawn shop. No complaints other than I wish they had more stuff sometimes. It just depends on when I get there I guess.
