I was on vacation and needed a specific thing checked. Asked if they had time, they said yes. I have a unique issue with my vehicle, I know what it is, I just didnt have the ability to fix it. It literally takes 3 minutes. Over an hour later, they have ME move my vehicle. Ten minutes after that, a tech comes over. I tell him exactly what to check for. He fiddles around inside, uses the code reader, pops the hood, looks at the sticker inside for three seconds, and walks off. Not once did he look down where the problem is. I thought maybe he walked off to get a tool or something. Nope. Here comes the service adviser, toddling out with my keys. the code reads blah blah blah you need to make an appointment and leave it all day.Um ... no. No, I dont. You both blatantly ignored what I told you to look at and for.While I was waiting, people who had appointments came in and were told they would have to wait upwards of an hour. Unacceptable. If I have an appointment, I expect my vehicle to be in the bay no more than 15 minutes after that time. A couple of them left, and I dont blame them. I later found out, though I dont know if it is true or not, that this locations staff have been so rude they lost their rental car contract. As I did not see any rental car kiosk, and people who were told to leave their vehicles were told to call for a ride, it seems this is correct information.I took my keys and vehicle and left. Thankfully they did not try to charge me because Im not paying for the NOTHING that I got. I went somewhere else, talked to the advisor (who LISTENED to me) and wow, guess what? I DO KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. Problem fixed, code cleared, and I was on my way in less than ten minutes from the time I pulled in to the time I left.The Pep Boys on Hawthorne Blvd is smaller and more limited in what they can do, but their customer service is OUTSTANDING. The Pep Boys on Artesia in Redondo Beach is able to do diagnostics if you need that.Do NOT go to this location on Sepulveda. Your time is important, too - and you deserve to be listened to.

Over an hour wait... for maintenance (and still waiting. Car hasnt even been moved to be serviced, which will take another 45 minutes). Customers who arrived after me, left before me... in/with their vehicle after 30 minutes or so. And that text message with a service link they send you is infuriating as all outdoors when you see your car hasnt been moved. Guess where I wont be coming back to again.

Its going to close for good any day now. Everything was 50% off and the shelves were largely empty. The salespeople told me they are going to go online only. Sad.

This Pep Boys is on Sepulveda and Torrance. I was having issues with my 2017 Nissan versa. I was not able to get in or out of the driver side sue to the locking mechanism. Armando came to my aid and showed me a quick hack to delay service until I get paid. (Just started new job- just moved from Arizona) scheduled an appointment for the 26th of the month to get this fixed. What a lifesaver!THANK YOU ARMANDO!!!

I arrived at 5:30pm for an oil change. When I walk up into the office, the two workers are just talking to themselves. I ask if I can get an oil change and they say they’re “closed” and are not accepting any cars. Seriously? Then change your hours to 5pm.

All sales are final policy is bogus. I had bought brake fluid and transmission fluid that I ended up not needing. The bottles were unopened and not damaged, plus I had the receipt. Now I’m stuck with fluid I don’t need and out 30 bucks.

Im giving them a 3 star rating because they have decent prices for an auto parts store. But they are rude..The employees give off the attitude that they want to get it over with, and you(the customer ) are not their concern. They dont conversate friendly . They dont know what the hell they are talking about either. Many years ago, you could come here to receive good service. Now youll get dumbfounded looks and offers of things your car doesnt even need. This place sucks

I made an appointment for 11:30 pm for a oil change and they told me that they were behind schedule and there a lot of cars there and they skipping my car and taking other customers car not until 12:30 pm they took it In .When it was ready the maintenance light is still on they didn’t turn it off. Overall they were helpful

If I could give zero stars I would. Made an appointment for 10am just to get my tire patched and when I got there already a lot of cars. The guy tells me it will be 2 hours before they will look at my car. I said why did I make an appointment then? He said just to get checked in. I said no thank you. Went to a local repair shop that was busy but they stopped what they were doing and plugged my tire for free All of 10 minutes. Now that’s customer service! Used to go to this Pep Boys all the time but it has been going down hill for awhile. Save yourself the stress support your local small local repair shops!

I was told it would cost $200 to replace a bulb in my Mother 2009 Impala, the tech said he would have to remove the entire front bumper. I immediately went several miles to Auto Zone and purchased the bulb and kit for $20, Terry who works there completed the job in less than five minutes without removing the bumper. These guys are super helpful. Took my car here a couple months ago because the coolant was leaking. They fixed what they could quickly, and although they could not fix all of it, they showed me the problem and were polite and friendly. Would come here again. Picked up a online order a few months ago. The people here are very nice and the place appears to be clean. The computer systems they are using are highly outdated. The person assisting me had to restart the service machine several times in order to process my online order. I hope the manager makes a request to upgrade their systems. As for that its okay.

I was really surprised when I saw such bad reviews because I have always had amazing experiences at this location. I used to go to the Pep Boys on PCH near Harbor City and they were always busy so I found this location and I was pleasantly surprised with the service. The woman that works the front desk holds great conversations and relates to the customers to make you feel comfortable. They completed a shock/strut test on my vehicle for free because of the wait. I feel comfortable leaving my vehicle with them and know they are making honest decisions about the maintenance of my car..

I bought a pack of two headlights and initially was told they would charge me $20 to install, so I agreed. When I went to the service desk to pay, they tried to charge me $20 for each light, a total of $40. Last month, at a different Peo Boys, I was charged $10 to install 2 tail lights. Seems fishy. I will try my luck at an Auto Zone next time. Wish me luck on installing the head lights.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff! I went in to buy a windshield wiper blade to replace what had come from the factory. Within 15 minutes I had purchased the part I needed, plus they had someone install it for me! I drove off very pleased!

Horrible customer service from the manager they do not close for another three hours and turned me away saying they were not taking anymore cars. I only had a simple nail in the tire repair needed wheel was already loose. He clearly took another two three cars after me. Clearly bs and a bunch of lazy good for nothing mechanics. You need a new crew.

Were from out of town and started having break problems. The problem ended up being much worse than we had anticipated but they took really good care of us and had it done within 24 hours. They know what theyre doing and seem very trustworthy.

Needed a battery for our Hybrid car. Luckily they had one in stock. We were in and out in 10 minutes.

I live near this store and use it for parts. However I came in yesterday with an auto repair problem and received a shock. A small screw came out of a rear brake caliper. I would have gone to the dealer, but being Sunday, only this place was open. I spoke to a service writer named Tony. Bad sign number one: He was wearing sunglasses indoors. Never a good sign to me. Anyways, I explained that I needed a screw replaced and he told me that it was against PEP Boys policy to repair calipers and that it could only be replaced. With parts labor and brake fluid, it would be $800. I left and went to another Pep Boys store on Hawthorne, presented my problem and was informed that this was a common problem, the lower screw had come out and that it would be about $25 to fix, but the screw might be a dealer only item. In the end, I replaced the screw myself. Got one at Home Depot for $1.07. DO NOT USE THE STORE ON SEPULVEDA! Total smarmy ripoff.

Made an appointment at 1pm for an engine diagnosis. Called to check on my car at 5pm and they had not moved it from the spot I left it in the parking lot. DO NOT BOTHER MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. There is obviously no point. Picked up my car untouched and unlocked in the parking lot. They lost the $89 for the diagnostic test, brakes check, probably the cost of a new alternator/labor, shocks, struts and my ride there and back was going to get an oil change and brakes check when we picked up my car.I understand places get busy...but why allow appointments? And why not be honest that its going to be 5 hours before we even look at your car? Waste of a day.

Got me some air conditioning recharge stuff....Im cool now.

I came in to ask about replacing my cars starter. Either to have them replace it or buy the part to do it myself. Eitherway to my surprise, non of the staff on duty where able to determine what part model my car needed and only gave me a range of cost that could be with out a specific and also they have to order the part. My car is not an unusual type is a Honda. I dont know much about car parts and ordering but seamed to me that itnwouod be a very simple part to find. Hope next time

They fixed my brakes for a thousand bucks and the car started making a noise after. Took it back and they diagnosed a different problem and charged me 350 to fix that but the car still makes the same noise. Never ever ever never ever go to pep boys. If you want to keep money in your wallet and have a car that runs right go somewhere else. Pep boys go to hell

Bad place. i waited about three hours for a check engine light because every worker at this location are more worried about the sports game then DOING THEIR JOB. Very unprofessional. They told me they are busy that was the excuse for waiting so long. Well if they are busy instead of watching tv, wouldnt common sense say get in the garage and fix the cars. You cant fix the cars in the lobby with your eyes on the tv. These guys RUDE, inconsiderate idiots. These guys thought they were at a bar in party mode rather than professional. High on something if they cant figure out what they are suppose to be doing at work. I ended up leaving because if they cant figure out simple common sense I do not trust them working on my car. They might forget a bolt or two. They dont care about you or the job. They care about taking your money and making you wait hours when the task can be done in minutes. Poor management. Avoid for you life.
