Be alert! This is not a credited business with BBB. They placed my solar panels with the promise that they will check periodically that will generate electricity when they disappeared and do not return calls. Their phone number is out of business and there is no answering service. There is an alert on BBB website against their business making sure more people do not fall into the same trap like I did, I now need to hire another company finishing their work.

I had an enjoyable experience with Sungate. I found them to be very professional from the first contact to completion of the job. They provided all of the information that I needed to feel comfortable with the entire operation. They explained the financial benefits in detail from how to save on electrical bills to tax benefits. Plus our role in conserving our vital energy. The installation had things to do that were simple and easy and not time consuming. I am now waiting to see my savings on the electric bill.

We had a great experience from the moment we contacted Sungate. Their sales team was very knowledgeable and willing to work with our budget. The installation took two days to complete, but Mark and the rest of the team were very prompt, thorough and clean. On top of that, the service team is also very professional. I would recommend Sungate to anyone who, like us, is willing to go solar to help the environment, experience a practically non existent electric bill and contribute a piece to the renewable energy puzzle.

We had talked about installing solar panels and responded to a marketing mailer with the idea of gathering more information about the possibilities. Sungate contacted us immediately, and I admit that I was a bit hesitant about the sales pitch and promotion approach. Their sales people were very professional and prompt and did a great job explaining the process and benefits. After reviewing the potential savings and doing a little comparative research, we decided to go ahead and purchase the system.Sungate scheduled the installation very quickly, and everyone has been extremely courteous and helpful. We had a few hiccups with recent changes in codes and the city inspector, but Sungate handled everything and kept us informed. No extra effort required on my part, for which I am always grateful.I was concerned about how the panels would look, but it is all very sleek. Even the neighbors think it looks good. We are very pleased with Sungate so far and are looking forward to seeing big changes in our electric bill.

The installation team had excellent customer service; they were on time and left no mess. The solar system works seamlessly and has already saved us money. It was an easy decision to choose Sungate.

We had a very good first impression of the representatives that came to our home to tell us about Sungate Solar. They answered all our questions and we signed up after some thought on this commitment.I have to say that the communication during and before the installation was not good. I like to be notified when people are coming to the house ahead of time so I can be prepared.The installers were the best. They did a marvelous job and even the inspector of our city said that they were very though.Now that the product is up and running we are anxious to see how much it helps our bill.

They showed us how we could read themeters to see how much electricity we were producing and using. My husband has been very happy, checking the meters almost daily.We have been evaluating our options, and other companies, in our quest to determine whether or not to go solar for a number ofyears. We had a great experience with Sungate. We did all the leg work for association approvals but they coordinated with SCE & our city. All in all our experience was great. The installation team was professional, very courteous and did a quick installation. We had some confusion regarding what the city inspector was looking for in order to sign off - but it was rectified somewhat quickly and we were pleased. We are very pleased with the salesman who calculated our usage with the number of panels we needed. We have been producing our own power for 7 months and our SCE bills have never been over $1.32/month!!

I got contact by Sungate through some marketing channel. Even though not the typical way Id like to find a contractor, I decided to give it a try. After negtiated the price, everything went very smooth. The job was completed in very short time and I was able to get the benefit of free electricity after a short wait. Some of my friends wait for more than half year with other contractor. From this perspective, their service is very good. Their installer/workers are very friendly and nice to work with. I told them how I were I want my pannel installed and it went exactly that. I have my system for about 9 months so far and am very happy with the purchase.

Called the number above today, no longer in service. Seems company was good around 2012-3, then something happened. Today, number no longer in service.

I used Sungate to install a solar system on my home. Sungate made the process very easy, and installed a quality system. However I believe they are too high on pricing. I admit I did not get multiple estimates before hand to compare (my fault). The sales team made me believe I was getting a great price because of advertising credits. The thing that really tipped me off about the price being too high was the fact that they do not submit California Solar Initiative rebates. When I went to submit for the rebate myself I had to file a justification of high cost form because my cost per watt was about $5/per watt higher than average in California.Another thing to note is they include 3 years of system monitoring, however you are responsible for connecting the inverter to the Internet for them to monitor the system. They will not run cabling for the connection.When all was said and done I have a 3.3kw inverter and 8 panels and I still have about a $200 electric bill. I often still cross into tier 5 with SCE. I will have to replace my inverter to be able to add enough panels to really make a large difference on my SCE bill. I had them come out again to quote me on adding 8 more panels and they sales guy said that will be about $3000 per panel while still on my front porch. I thanked him for his time and decided that would be the last time I called them.In closing I can say they do quality work quickly, but make sure you get competitive quotes and verify the planned system is large enough. The price will start out really high so they can discount it to make you feel better.

Do not do business with this company. The product is fine and so far appear to function but the customer service and professionalism is sorely lacking.1. Getting the panels installed took 6+ months because they were unorganized2. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. so far after many calls the web monitoring I was promised still does not work, with no help from customer service3. The sales team is pushy and often rude.in short.. avoid this company.. I have nothing but negative things to say about them.

Sungate was great, they got the installation done quick and were very helpful with follow up information regarding DWP and the tax rebates.

They are the worst operation to work with, not only were they pushy, they were misleading on there installations of Solar Panels, misrepresented the installments payments process and never follow-up once they received their payments from the Bank there in bed with they totally ignore you.

Salesman lied, sold panels at the very highs price around. Then forgot to turn my solar for over two months!

Horrible, refuse to answer any technical questions I had, unless they came out to my house first.
