The staff was amazing very polite the store was very organized

I was looking for a few things today when a employee asked me if I needed help. So I told him what I was looking for and...bingo ...he went right to it .Excellent place to shop, people are very friendly and helpful.

Classic local hardware store with good inventory and fun staff.Id like to write a 5 star review.Unfortunately, having 4 months to adjust to working around COVID-19, some employees still regularly dont wear masks indoors, others quickly cover their face if they see someone coming (we see you!), and those that do wear masks often dont cover their nose - which I understand to be a total waste.While there is a sign saying masks are required at the door, some employees dont follow the guideline and customers who do not comply are not asked to leave the store.So, if you think COVID-19 is a hoax, or that you are tougher than the virus, or you dont know anyone who has died yet, please read this as a 5-star review and support your local hardware store.Otherwise, if you are trying to be safe and responsible, as of this writing, it sadly may be best to explore other options.I hope to see them better adjust and intend to update my review if I see an improvement.

This is the best store, and the most well run store in Torrington. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their prices are very fair and often better than the big stores. They always have what I need. Always plenty of parking so its much easier to shop there than Lowes or Home Depot. I love Carls True Value!

I remember the cheesy commercials on TV! But seriously, they have everything you need in a fraction of the space that lowes or home depot takes up. I always kick myself when Im wondering around a big store and realize Carls has it, and its within 20 feet of the entryway. Dont believe that they have something? Probably wrong! I check there first.

The people here are extremely friendly. I walked around the store for about 30 minutes just to see what all they had. During that time I was asked if I needed help finding anything six or seven times.When I did need help, I was taken right to where I needed to be and shown exactly what I was looking for.Also the things that I bought were much cheaper than what I normally pay. All in all, I can say, I will be using this hardware store often.

Our grill decided to retire on the eve of a major party! No fear, Carls True Value had just the right replacement. It was assembled, fit into the back of our Subaru!! Well be grilling & chillin tomorrow! Thanks Carls crew for an effortless task of purchasing the replacement grill!!

Walking into Carls is like walking back into the 1950s, when a hardware store was a delight to most of your senses - the creak of the hardwood floors, the jingling jangling of screws in small metal drawers, the grinding of keys being cut, a place for everything and everything in its place. They even have old-school candy brands, like Mary Janes, which Gramps always buys every time, even though they stick to his dentures and he curses like the veteran sailor he is as we walk to his rusty Studebaker in the parking lot. Helpful staff. Northend pride, baby!!

They had the lawn fertilizer I wanted for @ $7 less than Ocean State Job Lot next door. Carls usually has what you need. Great store, nice staff !
