First off I bought my baby here. She is now 5 years old, female, chronic egg layer, attention seeking, affectionate, yellow cockatiel.She is my little buddy stuck to me like a third arm most days, unless she is laying on her eggs.Everyone who has ever helped me with their advise and suggestions are wonderful.Some days I could just hang out and visit the birds in the back and want to take them all home.Thank you all at Paterson Bird Store!!🐤🐥🐣👍🏻

For the most part I feel that while they may at times be rushed and short they will take the time to explain things to you regarding your bird. However, I could only imagine caring for many birds then trying to give attention to customers can also be a heavy load to deal with. My thought are if you truly have a concern, ask what would be a good time to voice those concerns not at a time when the store is extremely busy, when the employees are handling multiple jobs all at once. I give them a A+ for their hard work and efforts. Keep up the good work.

A wonderful store, great staff & a huge selection of food, toys, treats, necessities & OTC medications for your feathered family member. And if you need a bird this IS the place to go.

Please be careful shopping here. They posted a photo of a budgie on their Instagram claiming it’s a baby when it’s an adult. U can tell from the cere and eyes. They aren’t honest people. They deleted my comment and blocked me. I just want people to be aware of what they’re buying. Plz don’t trust these guys. Don’t lie and say a bird is a baby when it isn’t. I have been going to The Paterson Bird Store for over 20 years. The staff is very knowledgeable. They do boarding, which is so helpful. They do a great job clipping my birds wings, doing his beak, & nails.

My sister lives decently close to this place, and she has a bird. we also have a bird and we used to take them to get their nails cut here, until we realized that they got cut and were bleeding after. my sister dropped off her bird for them to watch (bird watching service) and it looked like that the bird’s water bowl wasn’t changed, and the food that she specifically requested to give to her bird wasn’t given (it was some random seed brand.) the staff is kind, but still disappointed and dissatisfied.

I been coming here for a few years now. I have to say I love how well they treat their birds! Every single staff member I have meet has been super friendly and knowledgeable! They have a wide variety of birds,cages, food and toys. I love this place! I bought my sweet lovebird here and soon will be getting my sun conure baby from them!

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Masks are no longer necessary, so took my 87 year old mom for the ride. She and I I walked in without masks - both vaccinated. They demanded a mask. She reads lips so can’t interact with the mask. I told the staff but they demanded. Such a shame, and stupidity. Think we won’t be back.

If you don’t have a masters degree in Ornithology with a minor is zoology, they will talk down to you. So unless you feel like studying chapters 3-12 on the history of birds prior to entering their shop, and delivering a full 5 page essay describing behavioral patterns in the daily life of most common bird species, I’d be ready to be talked to like an infant.

I like this store, I buy all my seed and fixtures here monthly. The older woman who works mostly in the bird room is excellent, she is so sweet and really gets it, if you want to handle a bird she is quick to help. The last 3 times I’ve been in however I’ve felt like I’m a bother to the girls at the counter. They are very quick, rushed and not friendly in my opinion. I travel from 45 mins away to shop by you, at least pretend like you value me.

I am writing this complaint to share the extremely poor customer service I experienced during my visit here. The employees were unfriendly, condescending, and appeared to be generally annoyed and unmotivated that they were working in general. As a novice bird owner it was appalling to be degraded by the employees for not being as knowledgeable as they are in there profession which is to be expected by any customer entering this disgusting establishment. I only took my cockatiel and canary to get there nails clipped and left feeling humiliated and disrespected. I would recommend to anyone who reads this to find another bird store even if it means traveling to a further location. Anyone who truly cares for their bird would not subject them to this treacherous facility.

About 3 months had one worker get real nippy with me, and I didnt say anything but one other employees knew what happened was wrong and they tried to lighten the situation by being kind and I accepted it. But we all have bad days.this time I went in seem to be a little kinder.

I had the most amazing experience here... I brought my 12yr old niece there to groom her bird... clip wings, nails, and beak.. The 2 ladies that worked there cheryl and Ellen were so patient and thoughtful and knowledgeable about all things bird... it was totally packed in there yet somehow they both made us feel like we were the only ones in the store... and they did this with everyone from what I saw.... no attitudes, no aggravation, no negative demeanor, just patience... as long as theyre there I will never go to another bird store... they definitely deserve a raise... just Cant say enough about my these ladies and our experience... my niece wants to go back today and we dont even have a reason to... thank you ladies for providing such a memorable experience... see ya soon 🤗🤗

The Paterson Bird Store is one of the BEST bird stores Ive seen! Their staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely nice people!!! They have a wide array of birds (from small Finches all the way to large Parrots). I must commend them on how they treat their birds and their cages. Every time Ive been there the birds cages were immaculately clean and they handle their birds gently and humanely! Even the layout of their store is top notch! They also sell a wide variety of bird seed that is specialized for each bird they sell. As well as a huge selection of bird cages and toys. If you are interested in purchasing a bird, and you are shopping around for the quality of bird and price, I would highly recommend visiting The Paterson Bird Store! It is a high quality one stop shop for *EVERYTHING* you need for your feathered friend! I could go on forever about how wonderful this store is!! I promise you that you wont be disappointed visiting their establishment!!! I am personally buying my Sun Conure there once it is weened of baby formula. The employees at this store are so helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend PBS to anyone who already has a pet bird -- and especially to anyone who is thinking about it. The folks here love to talk about how best to care for pet birds. They make an effort to learn your name (and your birds name), which feels great on return visits. Birds can be clipped and boarded here as well.

These guys really know birds. My family bought our first bird from here and they were very helpful in making sure that we had all the necessities for first-time bird owners. Over all, the store is just a neat place to be because of the set up. I have never been into a pet store that is just like a bird mecca. Patterson Bird Store is that. The Bird Mecca. One of their employees is especially great: Bobby. He is friendly, willing to help, and you just know he truly loves what he is doing, which makes your experience there extra great.

This is the place to go for obtaining quality bird food for your avian family pet. The majority of the staff is very knowledgeable. There is one staff person who is a bit brusque, but overall the service is efficient. Boarding services are available as well. If you are looking to purchase a bird, this store is the place to go given the reliable breeders. It does get very busy here on the weekends, so time your visit accordingly.

This is the best place to go if you have a bird. Very experienced staff. It gets crowded at times, but that is evidence of their popularity. We board our cockatoo there when we have to and it has always turns out well. We also take her to get her nails done!

Place just didnt seem the same, little dingy, no big selection and as usual for todays retail establishment, the collection of younger people who were never taught respect. Ill keep buying my food at Petco.

Very small bird store, good selection of bird feed for many sizes of pet birds from finches to macaws. Cage selection, and bird selection very limited. Mostly small birds with one or two medium sized birds available for sale. I saw a bunch of small birds for sale. There was one macaw which I believed to be owned by an employee and not for sale. One amazon (with signage not to handle it) and a small room with mostly empty cages. Fair selection of toys given the size of the building. If you need food or toys this is a good choice if you are local. If you want to buy a bird, go elsewhere where you might find the type you are looking for (that you dont know you have fallen in love with yet!)

This is a family run Birds only pet store that is just off the Union Blvd. Exit of Rt 46 and Rt 80. Theyve been in business for decades. They have boarding facilities, specially blended bird seed products for every type of bird, bird toys, wings and nail clipping services, very nice cages in all sizes plus birds of all types for sale. They often sell baby hand fed parakeets that are very tame and more friendly to humans than ordinary parakeets. They have parrots, lovebirds, sunny conures, finches, cockatiels, parakeets as well as other small birds. The people there take pride in their store and know their customers well. Great store for bird owners!
