Awesome dessert offerings from one of the small local bakeries in NJ. I’ve been hooked on their cheesecakes since college, when my roommate brought one to the dorm. Not an easy spot for me to get to since I don’t drive and live in NY. So it’s a treat every time someone can bring me back some of these desserts from NJ.Most of the items in the attached photos require calling ahead since they’re not normally on display. Mini apple turnovers, cupcakes and Napoleon cheesecake is usually available without ordering ahead. The other ones like the mini cheesecake, key lime pie and small apple pie need to be called in ahead. I wanted small portions so I could pig out on a little of everything :)I’m lactose intolerant, so I always take a lactaid pill before eating most of these. The mini apple turnovers are the only ones I can eat without my lactaid pills. But the creamy goodness of those other ones are totally worth it.It’s been many years since college, their cheesecake is still my all time favorite. Even compared to some of the well known chains that specialize in cheesecakes and some of the fancier restaurants, their cheesecake can hold its own. They usually always have plain ones available for walk-in orders. If you don’t want to pig out on a dessert spread like I did and want to try just one thing, the cheesecake would be my recommendation.Very reasonably priced, the mini cheese cake was $3. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, especially if you’re like me and are used to a “midtown premium” on food and desserts that aren’t even half as good as these. Call ahead if you want something specific though, their hours and dessert offerings for walk-in orders might be limited because of the pandemic right now. I usually tell me friend a couple of days in advance when I want something from this bakery.

We have had the strawberry cheesecake over the years. Hands down it is THE best cheesecake you will ever eat! We purchased another one to share with a few family members in our bubble this year and we were once again NOT disappointed! Thank you for a pure taste of wonderful!

My family And I picked up our cake from DebPam on 7/24 to celebrate a 13th birthday. We typically order from Palermo’s bakery in Little Ferry but decided to try something different. When we cut the cake on 7/24, only 2 hours after picking it up, the filling was extremely SOUR and apparently the cake had gone bad. My aunt later contacted the bakery to resolve the matter AND the woman who answered the phone was sarcastic, extremely rude and unapologetic. She asked us to bring the cake back. I’m not sure if she was planning on tasting the cake or what. Additionally, she absolutely refused to provide us with a refund. I wasn’t planning to leave a review but I don’t want anyone else to have the same experience. Birthdays are very special occasions and Deb Pam had one job which they failed miserably at doing. You’re better off ordering a cake from Shop Rite honestly.

I went here everyday 20 years ago, and I was thrilled when I went to NJ two weeks ago they were still there! And it was still the same wonderful people. It felt a little bit like home 😊. Theyre pastries and rolls were a good a I remembered..so good I brought 4 dozen sugar buns home to Florida.

I’ve been coming to this bakery for years! I’d say about even a decade. Their cheesecakes are to die for and their cakes are fresh and delicious. They’re so kind when you have children they will give them a little treat. I love their powdered custard donuts and lobster tails. Only thing for me was yesterday I bought a lobster tail and it was literally raw inside usually it’s perfect. I’d advise the owner/baker to take precautions with that since it can get someone sick. It wasn’t t edible so I ate around it with the filling but 80% of it went to waste I was disappointed too cuz I love their fillings and pastries.

I live in Florida 9 years now. Was from NJ. Used to come to your bakery often. My sister brought me 2 dozen raisin buns. I got to tell you Im in heaven. Its been so long and they taste divine. Thank you for making me So happy.

These reviews are quite a surprise (or might be very old). They used to be good but everything Ive gotten from them the past few years has been stale.

Dont underestimate the cheesecake with strawberries on top!! I wasnt a cheesecake lover until i tried it. Not overly sweet. Definitely homemade😍

This is a fantastic bakery from the past with an excellent variety and prices that can’t be beat. Very friendly service and easy street parking. I really enjoy stepping into this blast from the past.

Delicious baked goods especially the strawberry shortcake! Its a very low key bakery and staff is friendly. The prices are great too!

I would give 5 stars but the customer service is horrible. Counter help doesnt seem to want to be there.. No effortto communicate with customers until you force it, then 1-2 word at best. This is on the owners, probably paying minimum. Too bad, the turnovers and cakes are very good. Not as good as Billys bakery NYC but the best so far this side of the Hudson.

The apple turnover pastries were bought for me from a patient and this hidden gem was unknown to me for years! i am now planning to get an order of turnovers today! these pastries were homemade and melt in your mouth good.

I’ve never had a better donut in my life for such an affordable price. The powdered cream donut was to die for. This bakery is amazing, from the breads to the cakes. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Italian pastries but everything else is amazing. I would totally recommend this bakery!

My go to bakery. Bread, pastries & canollis are exceptional. Try the cheese danish it wont disappoint. Extremely friendly staff.

Its been a while since I last visited. Much better inventory this time. However, I bought 2 cannolis and the shells were not crunchy.

The best cakes, but the eclairs are not made fresh they make a big batch then freeze them, crumb buns delicous when fresh but last time I went I think they were day old, bread and rolls are the best

I have been going to Deb Pam Bakery for over ten years there baked goods are great and fresh daily.

Customer service is seriously lacking. Ask a few questions about the type of bread they have and get one word answers. The people behind the counter never seem happy and willing to help.

My husband ordered a blackforest cake for our birthday... im not so happy about it.. it TASTE SOUR!!!!. we are so very disappointed. And the way it looks when i first saw it i cant even predict what flavor is the cake... i keep asking my husband whats the flavor and he said its black forest.. and im like thats a black forest it doesnt look like a blackforest. Uggggh!!!!! They murdered the cake with sour cherries. NEVER AGAIN!!! ZERO STAR for you!!!

Cakes may be good, but their customer service was pitiful. Would not let me order over phone. Told me to come to the store later in the day. I called again, later in the day, and was put on hold indefinitely. Eventually, just hung up.

I order 100 cupcakes for my grand son 1st birthday party..they were the worst cupcakes I ever tasted...money down the drain..dont waste your money ....go to shoprite

My whole family have been going to this bakery for over 31 years (before I was born). I live in Georgia and still crave only Deb Pams one of a kind donuts and their delicious pasteries. Everything from mouth watering cakes to warm bread is always perfect. I remember getting their incredible cupcakes with the enourmous amounts of icing on the top, it was a childhood favorite. I looked forward to picking out my cupcake every weekend. This bakery is my first stop going back to Jersey. No one else can compare!
