Found what my boyfriend wanted and excellent customer service
Nice comfortable shoes, salesman very nice person
Service was exceptionally, remarkably rude. The saleswoman audibly huffed when I said I was going to browse the store instead of tell her exactly what I was looking for. As I gently examined shoes and replaced them on the displays, the saleswoman followed me around the store and fixed up my apparently disturbing browsing by making minor, imperceptible adjustments to every product I touched. She acknowledged me with a tone of impatient sarcasm when I asked to try on a few pairs of shoes. Most shockingly, she rejected my choices of shoes to try on because I had asked to try apparently, a mix of casual and dress shoe styles. This is, for reasons beyond my understanding, forbidden. I was informed that I had to choose one. I did. The saleswoman said shed take a look in the back to find something for me. She brought out exactly zero of the styles I originally requested-- apparently, once again, my personal tastes were invalid in the Johnston and Murphy twilight zone. I tried on the shoe, and it was too large. I was informed that the company makes no shoes I would be interested in in any sizes smaller. No apology was issued. I then exited the store.I am often sympathetic to retail employees providing lackluster service if they seem bored, overworked, or simply lazy. Retail can be hard work, or perhaps they simply are having tough times in their lives. I cannot imagine any reasonable explanation for why this saleswoman at Johnston and Murphy was so exceptionally rude. Most salespeople I encounter try to sell me products. Im not sure how much closer I could get to actively trying to make me not buy their products than this saleswoman did.
Bought shoes here less than two weeks ago, went back today to try a smaller size because shoe felt bigger. One sales lady acted like i was bothering her the whole time i was in the store.I asked her if she could call another store to find out if they had the size i wanted. She told me they dont do that yet they had called and ordered from another store when i was there 2 weeks ago.Infact my order had been shipped from the Columbia store. There was only one other client in the store who the second sales person was helping. I walked to him and asked him if he could call and see if another store had the shoes. He looked at the first sales lady and told me he cannot call. I told him he Actually did exactly that(called) when I bought my shoes less than two weeks ago. He turned and walked away telling me that the system had been changed basically brushing me off. I walked away and will be returning my shoes. Will take my little money where it is valued and appreciated. If senior management wants to follow up it is a white lady with eye glasses and the African american guy.I am black too so no race angle here just pathetic awful customer service from these two.
My sales person was very nice.
Great customer service and everyone is so friendly
My husband loves this place
