Our extend family live out in this area and raved about this place...We checked it out with them - party of 7...it’s a small place but they pack a lot of tables in...All of the martini’s are handmade so it can take some time but it’s worth the wait....You have to be careful though since it can sneak up on you....the food options are just as abundant - highly recommend you try whatever is calling your name because you won’t be disappointed. If only it was not the distance it is from my home, I would frequent more often but it gives me a great excuse to go visit family and stop in before or after that visit or just have them meet me there since we all love this place.
Excellent food. You can tell the chef cares about his food so much. Each dish is a work of art for sure. So balanced and savory on every dish. Atmosphere is great. The jazz on Tuesdays is so fun. Happy hour is good. Its a must go and my favorite for good food in the area. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Spend the extra $5 per plate compared to chains like Ram or claim jumper to get something worth triple that. The pork chop is one of the best I have ever had.
Troutini is easy to walk past without noticing- it’s next to a dog day spa 😂- but once you step inside, the comfy- eclectic martini bar vibe greets you warmly. My friend invited me here @6pm on a Thursday and it was fairly busy. He enjoyed the colorful signature Troutini and I very much enjoyed a velvety smooth 2013 Tempranillo by Paul O’Brien. We did not have dinner here but ordered a snack plate which wasn’t beautiful. I didn’t love it to be honest, I’m more of a goat, sheep cheese, olive berry, seeded cracker, spreads & pate kinda lady and this was more grade school lunch box rolled up meat, grapes and blue cheese -whatever’s left in the kitchen plate -💕 but the peanut brittle portion disappeared quickly.
I was a little hesitant at first, I dont eat trout, but love Martinis, so soldered on, figured that I could drink my way through the trout. I wasnt at all that surprised to find more than a rainbow or browny on the menu. If you need to know, this restaurant is frenchish in style, every plate i saw looked fabulous. I had the chicken pot pie my wife countered with the duck En Crout, booth are to die for, and you might if you are not supposed to eat this kind of food, but then you are missing out. Our server Maria was on her maiden run as an evening server, she did a great job. Drinks were hand crafted. See you again next time I am in town
The food here was amazing. The ambiance was very cozy. The staff was very friendly and gave good options on the food they enjoyed most. Nicole was our waitress and was great at checking in with us.The cocktail menu was very good. I have a French fiesta which had some fancy liquer, tequila, hibiscus syrup and a hibiscus flower. Strong, but delicious. My wife had an Irish coffee and said it was just as good as she had in Ireland. For an appetizer we had the Beer Fondue which was bread/homemade pretzels and beer cheese. Super delicious.I had the chicken pot pie for my entree. It. Was. Amazing. The gravy was on point. My wife had the Bolognese and it was also great. The noodles were expertly cooked. For desert we had an apple crisp which had just the right about of cinnimon and the apples cooked just enough so they had the slightest crunch, melded with a delicious oat covering and a nice scoop of vanilla on top.We will be back.
Great food and great service. The staff were polite and helpful. The white cheddar cheese dijon soup was delicious and the homemade pretzels bits to dip in the soup were wonderful. The house salad was delicious with bacon, nuts, pears and vinaigrette dressing. The cornbeef sandwich was delicious. What a romantic atmosphere and they have live jazz Tuesday night.
Great date place! Pricey but you get great service, food and drinks. If you like wine and want more than 1 glass (heres a tip) buy the bottle. Try the pork, it is delicious! Love the deco as well! Very cozy and chill environment.
Hubby & I had date night here on Saturday.Food was PHENOMENAL!! Chicken pot pie, scallops, and the house salads. To drink we tried the house “Troutini” and a “Happy Medium”, both were exactly what we wanted. Fun drink menu. Service was prompt & personable! We can’t wait to return to this cozy gem.
I loved this place! I cant wait to go back. Its a small cozy restaurant with the right noise level to ambiance of other people talking and the background music. It does not over power your conversation so you are the loud talker. It has some more unique dining styles like the table and lounge chairs near the fire place.
What a great place. The food was excellent. Fresh, made from scratch, prepared perfectly. Atmosphere fits the food and vibe of the restaurant. Wanted to try everything on the menu. Will definitely be going back.
Wonderful food and wonderful service. The queso spinach dip is wonderful. The steaks are always great.
Tracy at the bar went above and beyond to take care of us. All of our inquiries were met with care and consideration. I had pork and scallops and a salad (bacon was best I ever had) will be back next week with my fam. It seems busy but not thing like the restaurant down the street. We had two people and we’re sat right away
Excellent food, friendly service. Its a bit pricey but TOTALLY worth it. I had an amazing baked mac and cheese with so much crab in it.
Good food, poor service.. wasnt busy at all. I guess you didnt understand about the service part. Its not like it took long for the food to come out. The poor service was that we wanted another drink but the bartender never came back to check on us. So it would have been nice to have better service. As an owner I would want to know so that way I could work on improving guests experience.
Been here twice and have had an exceptional meal both times. Ive had the filet, scallops, Caesar salad, and seafood skewer. Everything was cooked to perfection, exactly as I ordered it. Service is great - friendly, attentive engaging, and prompt. My only request is I wish they would expand their non-IPA selection on tap. They did have Macs Amber, which is an outstanding beer, so my complaint is a minor one.Its a popular place so you definitely want to call ahead and make reservations. It also tends to get loud with all the rambunctious drinkers like myself, so if you want a quiet, romantic meal, go early, or go during an off meal time. Highly recommended.
Amazing food and staff is cool. Love the design of the establishment. Very old school, and vintage. Come here just about ever other week and am never cease to be impressed. 5 stars!
This was our first time in and we loved it. We wandered in for a drink after having dinner down the street. The bartender was very knowledgeable when it came to his liquors. He made great drinks for us. The waitress was super friendly and offered great advice on the drink selection. She truly loved her job and it showed. We cant wait to come back and try the food.
Is a small bistro with an incredible chef. I was surprised to find such a creative menu and a wonderful atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and interesting. The service is very good and quite friendly and courteous making this all around a great place for relaxing meal.
Well be back soon. First time in this evening snd it was lovely. The decor, music, and energy is perfect for a kid free date night. We ordered burgers and fries since it was our first trip and realized we should have ordered more complicated dishes. The drinks were spectacular. We will be back soon!
Every bite I’ve ever had at Troutini’s hasbeen perfectly delicious! Cozy, intimate, warm atmosphere. My husband and Ihave always had a pleasurable eveningat Troutini’s!
Not that it was bad, but when this place first opened it was exceptional. Food quality, and service that is. Now they have become established, it has become like most places. Doing just enough to get by.
Came here for a late lunch while on the way back from visiting Multnomah Falls. Food and service were great!I had a chicken salad, my wife had a veggie wrap, and my daughter had the kids pasta. Everything was wonderful.Id love to come back for dinner if I visit the area again. Highly recommended!
Relaxing delightful environment offering quality food and service. The menu offers something for everyone. I will be back to try more menu options and jazz on Tuesdays
Good food & Drinks. Not fast food. Made from scratch. Pastry chef on site. Try the Creme Brulee. Happy Hour Menu 4-6pm. Live Jazz Trio on Tuesday Evenings.
The place looks very clean, the food is very tasty and the prices are more than fair!
Great drinks; excellent mixology here. The food is TO DIE FOR. Best pot pie in Portland, though not particularly traditional - it is exceptional. The trout is first rate, and the prime rib is the best Ive ever had. (And Ive had a lot!) Theres something for everyone with vegetarian/vegan options, and gluten free too!
Ive been to this restaurant 3 times in the past 6 months. Each time was during Happy Hour. The food has always been good but the service leaves much to be desired. If you have a lot of time to kill and you dont mind going up to the bar to get service, this place is for you. I would love to give it 4 stars because the food is good, but I cant because of the poor service.
This place has fantastic food. The presentation and menu offering (and price) are on the higher end of my budget, but Ive never felt like I wasted money. The establishment maybe doesnt match up to the quality of the food and drinks, but that can be seen as a plus--you dont really have to dress up to go get some excellent food.
Delicious! Staff was very attentive and quick to offer great suggestions. Clam chowder was the best Ive ever had!The chicken pot pie was delicious as well as pleasing to the eye. Prime rib was cooked perfectly.Do yourself a favor and go to this place immediately!!!
Oh my goodness. I have to rave about this little gem of a place. I had the BEST house salad Ive ever had in my life, with a green shallot citrus dressing and candied cranberries, bacon, and walnuts, topped with fresh pear. I generally come here for the great service and outstanding ceaser salad because it is done perfectly with house made fresh croutons that have a crisp outer shell and soft texture inside but today I tried the house salad and I was changed. Great place, worth every penny.
This was an amazing combination to create the perfect late afternoon lunch date. The environment was inviting and well decorated. The service is amazing! I think her name was Marie. Girl! You are amazing! The food was delicious and paired with one of their tini drinks, it was happy times at our table. Highly suggest stopping in sometime for a good time and good food. Thanks for being a part of our weekend adventure. We will be back!
Very good brunch food, excellent service, and great atmosphere featuring antique photos and artifacts of the Columbia River gorge. The servers are attentive, but the service is relatively slow, so definitely plan to spend some time here when you come. Great drinks as well.
I went in to try their breakfast and was astounded. Their fried potatoes were seriously the best I have ever had, fried to a deep crispy brown, perfectly sized, and wonderfully seasoned. If they pay this much attention to a breakfast side, I cant wait to try dinner.Thank you for a great dining experience.
We had a fantastic time here tonight.Excellent food and excellent service by our male, dark haired waiter. We had the fondue and the surf and turf. Dessert was apple blossom. Cocktails were great as well especially the lemon drop with raspberry.
Pretty bland food. I understand the reason for the pricing but if you are putting in so much effort try to use some seasonings. I ordered a veggie wrap and it was literally just plain veggies with provolone melted (lets not forget that provolone is the most uneventful tasteless cheese in the world). And to be honest the price for a veggie wrap was a little ridiculous ($15) I do understand that there is a lot of overhead cost but you need to make something thats good and reasonably priced if this was good the price would have been reasonable however it wasnt so the price was unreasonable. I do find it strange that there so many people raving about the food. I only have to assume theyre local and havent left the area and experienced good food.
Went there to celebrate our sons birthday, they certainly don’t go out of their way to make it a fun occasion, that’s for sure; so if you’re looking for a fun place to make you feel warm and fuzzy-it’s NOT the one.Food was ok, server was ok, she lacked personality. It was cold inside and when the door opened it was even colder. Only a handful of customers and by our experience; now l know why.Another waiter was rude to her guests, I noticed they cut their visit short and left; understandably so.Lacking professionalism and customer service!Overall experience two thumbs down. One and done! Wouldn’t recommend them and will not go back. Sorry I picked them, it was an expensive disappointment.
Really tasty, good-quality food and friendly service. Theyre my favorite place in the area. Their cocktail selection is also excellent. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.
Oh my goodness!! What a WONDERFUL place to dine!! I think I had the best burger that I have ever eaten! Everything is homemade, including the best french fries you could ask for!! The service is amazing! We went for a late lunch so they were not so busy & the owner herself waited on us and was genuinely interested in making sure we had a wonderful dining experience!Certainly a Troutdale treasure!
Good food. Great service. Price to value is worth it. Nice bourbon choices. Death by Chocolate is a well thought out creation, GF, and fabulous.
The prices are a little high but its worth it. The drink menu is unique and the drink I had, the sazerac, was well prepared and delicious. The service was slightly slow but everyone was friendly. I will come back and do suggest trying this cute place!
Wonderful experience. The drinks and food were exceptional! We found this place by accident, and cant wait to go back. I love that their brunch is served until late afternoon. My mom and I shared the eggs Benedict and stuffed French toast, reccomended by Maria, our server. You can taste the quality, just as Maria promised. I loved how knowledgeable and excited she was to inform us of the menu. Most everything is made in house. Definitely my new go-to brunch spot.
You could blindly pick anything on the menu and rest assured you would enjoy whatever was served. I make it a point to eat at Troutini whenever I am in the region. I always order a side of bacon. Their bacon is homemade/cut in house. Some of the best bacon ive ever had.
I am giving Troutini 5 stars mainly because LOVE their stuffed brioche french toast (chocolate ganache, vanilla cream filling, figs, pears). It is the best breakfast Ive ever had. Anytime my mother-in-law comes to visit from Salem she requests we go there for brunch.I know they are praised for many other things on the menu, but as a vegetarian I have limited options. I have tried their veggie wrap and was not overly impressed. Still, the AMAZING brioche french toast, atmosphere, and great service necessitate 5 stars in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and try the stuffed brioche french toast, you wont regret it.
Beef skewer (HH item), house salad (mixed greens, pear, bacon chunks & candied pecans), white cheddar Dijon soup. The beef skewers were great! Tender & cooked just right. The house salad was delicious! The soup was really good as well! & my gal had a house chardonnay ($6.50) & she said it was well worth it. All in all, $25.50 for two is a great deal. Happy hour items look tasty & the full menu looks even tastier! Great atmosphere & the service was on point as well. Well be back!
Cute little place. Food was delicious, service was exceptional, cozy atmosphere. Nice place for a date night
This place is simply amazing. The service was outstanding and food is awesome. The servers are committed to ensure that their customers have a great experience. I absolutely love this restaurant.
Terrible experience. I went out of my way to visit this place to kill some time. I gave myself an hour time space to eat there. I showed up there and I was one of the only customers, and my meal took over 40 minutes to cook (the other customers already had their food) and It was brought to my table when I had to leave. The waiter then told me that it took very long because their oven is broken.... so now I’m going to go do my errands starving.
This place is clean, quaint and a great starting point for a trip up the Gorge. The food is really tasty. Its plated nicely and the ingredients are high quality. I especially like the biscuits. The staff is super friendly and efficient.
What an unexpected Surprise. Great service, quality, and very flavorful dishes. Well worth the drive for a wonderful meal, and evening.
Im giving them a 1 star because I cant do NO star. Wait time after ordering food was 35 minutes for soup and my companion ordered the stuffed french toast. We were a party of 3 and not one of us finished our food.
Great Atmosphere, great service! Gotta try their Chicken pot pie. Its so delicious. Will definitely be going back soon.
Great food, drinks and customer service! Had the bourbon burger and it was really good. The fries though... Should be illegal! Theyre too good!
My sister and her husband were traveling and were staying in an RV park near Troutini on a Long weekend. I went and stayed with them for an overdo visit with my sister. I took them for breakfast and we happened into Troutini. It was NOT busy at all so we were seated immediately. The waitress was friendly and our breakfasts were served relatively timely. Our meals were all very satisfactory, but getting water or coffee refills were by request only.
Cozy restaurant in downtown Troutdale. The menu has some interesting options and the food is very good. Expect to pay on the high end of the scale. Lunch with coffee will run you around $20.
Yummy food and specialty drinks. Comfy ambiance. Eclectic fun seating. The two ladies that served us were so nice. I cant wait to try their weekend brunch.
Gentleman working bar knew exactly what to supply me with being from New Mexico. The hotter the better and he delivered. Thanks for a memorable time and dining I experienced. Will return when back in this side of the country for sure
My daughter and I were out doing some errands and we were looking to stop and get a bite. We hadnt been in that area for a while and saw that The Troutini was there and decided to stop. We enjoyed some excellent Convertible Margaritas and brunch. Our server Maria was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had some Eggs Benedict and and order of Stuffed French Toast. They make all of their products like the English Muffin bread under the Eggs Benedict. The ham was brown sugar baked and homemade hollandaise. The brioche bread was so good with the French toast. A new favorite for us
There are signs that warn you that your meal may take a while to prepare, but its all in the name of quality.....and the chef does not disappoint! Food is excellent, morning, noon, and night. Been here for breakfast with a group (7 people) and an intimate dinner, cocktails were amazing and the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. A little on the pricey side for drinks and dinner, but they do have more affordable options, and breakfast was about as expensive as anywhere else with this kind of quality.
Absolutely incredible. Food incredible also drinks are incredible. Great atmosphere and great service I am a life time customer. Im getting thirsty so I will head down there now.....
Nice ambience, good food and good service. One of the VERY FEW restaurants In Gresham/Troutdale I would take out of town guests to. if you like your food drenched in heavy, sugary sauces and melted cheese, this is not the place for you.One problem I had was not knowing what days of the week this place is open. In the past this restaurant had seasonal hours.Hopefully thats changed for the better.
Fabulous Spanish coffee in a quaint setting. Very nice greeting and service. Bacon and grilled cheese was stuffed with both. French fries were so amazing. Love this place!!!
Really cute place! Surprised we were the only ones there for brunch! Food took quite a while for some reason, but was really tasty!!
Outstanding dining experience! Menu was simple but varied. Server was knowledgable, attentive, and very easy going. The dining was very enjoyable. The prepared and presented entrees, salads and desserts were simply the finest. Wine/Beer selection was terrific with featured Oregon beer and wines. Atmosphere was very pleasant. A 3 piece Jazz band played Big Band tunes with just enough volume that you enjoyed the music but could still carry on a conversation. Plenty of time to linger....just great!!
Far and away the best Reuben sandwich I ever had. Turns out they make the corned beef in-house. The French fries are delicious, the kids menu includes a luscious bowl of fresh berries, the place is well decorated and cozy... what a surprising treat here in Troutdale!!!
Excellent food and attentive service. I had a trout dish that was superb along with polenta fries. Excellent cocktails too.
Great place, staff wonderful and good delicious. My wife and I went before a kid free night out. Cocktails and appetizers were fresh made and the wait was not long as some reviews stated and we were expecting. Well be back for sure
Very good service and food. Loved the drinks. Charming decor.
A bit spendy, but they have such amazing food and drinks. My favorite cocktail: Thin Mint martini! ^_^
I would describe troutini as small cozy restaurant. This was my First time here and the food was good. Prices are what you would expect for the types of food they serve. They have a good variety of things in the menu, I had the spare ribs, they were like two small very juicy pot roast chunks, delicious.
Great spot in Troutdale. Love the cheddar Dijon soup its a must try with the house made pretzels. Should be busier for as good as this place is. Great bar selection as well. Ive been here now four times and every time we left happy.
This is such a nice place to meet and greet friends or family. Its perfect for a quick bite or a nice cozy meal. Above average drink combos and coffee! Whether your alone or bringing a group, Troutini is the perfect place!
Tuesday Night Jazz! Great service, great happy hour specials
Awesome place to eat.Mmmmm...Delicious...dont forget to leave the space for dessert!and you want to try the special, you need to manage to come early, I never able to catch it after 7pm.
Excellent experience great food!Great service! Best lamb Ive ever had!Definitely going back
The wife and I went there a few weeks ago by chance. the service was excellent, Maria was an awesome waitress. she made great recommendations. the food was very delicous, although portions were small for the price. Also it was a Tuesday so there was live jazz band so that was good.
Good food, great service, and a cool setting. Lots of interesting wines and cocktails. Every Tuesday they do a live New Orleans jazz trio.
I havent been to the restaurant in over a year. I told my friends that it is a world class dinning experience. I have been in for breakfast lunch and dinner ten times and I have been very happy with every aspect of the restaurant. So Saturday when I was asked were we should go for a special dinner and drinks I was confident Troutini would be the best choice. I dont know what has changed since my last visit but the first thing I noticed was the cocktais witch was there best point are now average at best. the soup was very salty and went uneaten .my wife had the pot pie that was also over salted and went uneaten. My friend had the scallops thet I recommended . They were served under cooked and bland. My fish and chips were served with cold Frys. Finished my dinner with a not so good cocktail they I had to ask for. Went to pub for dessert . I hope this was just a bad night for you guys but I wont be back!
Absolutely incredible, cant wait to go back. The bologenese was the best Italian dish I have ever had. My old fashioned was perfectly made with the nice large single ice cube. Great staff, great atmosphere, perfect dining experience.
This restaurant never had a wait and my boyfriend and I have been here countless times. The food is amazing and the whole aesthetic and energy of this space is very warm and welcoming.
The customer service was amazing and only topped by the delicious food that was served. Highly recommend.
The ambiance is unique. And the white cheddar soup is THE BEST!!!
Very tasty! Nice, informal but tasteful atmosphere. Good drink selection. On the expensive side ($20-30 for an entrée), but totally worth it!
Fabulous as always. Try the chicken pot pie! Go on Tuesday night for a nice experience with the 3-piece Millenberg band.
Great food selection. Surf and turf blend dishes and meat and cheese plate was very good
The food takes a while, but is well worth the wait. The ambiance is pleasant and comfortable. Relax and enjoy the whole experience.
