This place was recommended by my friend and were I found my favorite mango. Ive searched for over a year already here in Michigan and just found it here. I also love that this place is super clean and everything is in order and well organized. You can find a lot of good stuff in here like jasmine rice, fruits and veggies. I also bought my vegan kimchi in here that taste really good. I love this place! One of my fave asian store so far! I will definitely keep coming back to this store! 🤩🥰💖👍
Amazing staff and helpful cashiers!! I enjoy coming to this store with my family. The manager is very friendly and always has a smile on his face!Thank you for everything u do
Love coming here for Korean groceries. Dumplings, Korean pancakes, kimchi, ramen, they have it all. When we come for groceries (or even if we dont) we always stop at the little restaurant inside. Their jjangmyeon, bulgogi, bibimbap, all delicious. We also always get kimbap when they have it.The store is always immaculate and you can always find what you are looking for.
Really cool import supermarket. Theres a ton of variety, fresh sushi, bright clean store, well organized. Theres a full restaurant inside the store as well. Short wait times at checkout.
This is my first time coming here and it was a pleasant experience! So many new things and the staff is very helpful
The grocery store was OK, but theres only one vendor there selling prepared food, and she definitely operates like someone who knows she has a monopoly. If you dont order quickly enough, she gets angry, and the prices are outrageous (upward of $12 for a bowl of horrible soup or $10 for black bean noodles). Worse yet is the food quality and lack of cleanliness. Koreans dont prepare the food, and theres apparently no training of kitchen staff by someone who knows how to make Korean food. Flavors are inauthentic and gross. Ingredients are incorrect and stingy. Even a simple bowl of bibimbop was botched, without any of the correct vegetables or proper gochujang. The kimchee dish was dirty, having not been washed after the previous customer used it. No conscience, no integrity. The whole experience was disgusting.
This is a very large Korean supermarket. It’s a great place to get seasonings, snacks, utensils, appliances and frozen foodstuff. Also features a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, a good selection of seafood, and a wide assortment of poultry, pork and beef for barbecue and soup. There’s also a cafeteria-style restaurant in the supermarket serving typical Korean food at reasonable prices.
Its like taking a step into Seoul, South Korea. A great place to find authentic Korean snacks, beverages, food, alcohol, household items, ingredients for recipes, and more. It is very bright and clean. People are very kind. Also a great place to practice Korean if you are learning. And yes... they speak English as well.
Always love this place to pick up groceries. staff is always very nice.
They should call this the heavenly Mart instead of Hmart. Really clean and organized place. This is my go to market for Korean and other Asian goods. All the bright warm lights letting you see all the fine details of each products they sell. I come here at least once a week to stock up on kimchi. This place keeps me coming back and it make me feel like home.
Tons of korean options. this place is great
Well I didnt even get the chance to go to the market. I called to confirm the time their store closes. As many of you know during the pandemic many hours are different than specified. The man that answered the phone was extremely rude. Instead of just confirming what time they close he proceeded to try and lecture me about their hours never changing. Excuse me I have never been there before and thanks to him never will spend my money there. It is 45 minutes from me so of course Im going to check that they are open before making the trip.
This place has a great variety of asian items you need. I always buy my asian groceries from here most of the time. Good selection on drinks as well. You can also easily find your selection of asian wines here which is really nice when i need my flavored sakis. The seafood selection is nice and this is a nice spot to buy pork belly as well at a good price! They have a lot of snacks and even some beauty products. The small food court in this store is HEAVILY underrated because their seafood pancake is delicious! Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who loves themself some asian delights😋Note: Its right next to tomo so just go straight on in if youre on the fence about it! It will NOT disappoint👉
Always come here with my shopping trip to 168 asian mart as they are close. They have some sales items like rice, vegie, etc., frequently. Overtime their prices are higher and somehow I think they are not as good as before.
Top notch fresh seafood and meat. Won’t find any more beautiful in the Detroit area. Excellent range of Asian products I can’t find at other Asian Markets. They have White Rabbit candy, which I can’t find at Chinese groceries. Crazy.
Great place to pick up Korean & some Asian groceries.
Food...wonderful! Customer service over phone is absolutely rude I was so disappointed!👎
If you like variety and rarely seen groceries you wont be disappointed. Great kimchi here, several types of seafood added. Good place to pick up short ribs.
Sea foods are very good. But sea food side workers behaving rude to customers, the workers are rude and worst behaviour. Too bad.
I was appalled by the service that I was provided with at this store. I have been here many times in the span of 1-2 weeks around 9 pm or 9:30 pm and they closed at different times every day. On google maps, it says they close at 10 pm but when I went one day they said they close at 9 and another day they said they close sometime before 10 (not even specifying exactly when). This clearly is the workers being deliberately lazy and closing whenever they feel like it. When I tried to call them and talk to the manager about this, they kept hanging up on me and barely answering my questions. Overall, their customer service is horrible and it’s not worth it to be going all the way here to be treated this way. I definitely won’t be going back here again and you shouldn’t either. If I could give them zero stars I would but then my review wouldn’t be published 🙄
Clean, variety, reasonable price. Only bad part is i dont live in troy michigan so i have to drive over an hour to get there to do buy some grocery regularly from them.
I have been coming here for the past 4 years, I absolutely love the selection of foods, both packaged and fresh. They have a wide range of korean staples and at affordable prices. I also highly recommend stopping into Woori Jip, they have really good Korean food!
Best place in Michigan for buying fish, and seafood!! They offer free cutting and cleaning as well. For every other fish market, communicating how we want the fish cut into pieces was an issue. But here, there is a list of cutting options hanging above theythe counter. You just to tell them the number. Sounds trivial? Not really because it makes it so easy for the costumer to communicate. This is the most interesting innovation for a fish market IMHO!!
Always long line. Go to Kim Num
Great store, good selection. But the Christmas music in April is so weird.
Found octopus... Bon appetit!
Loved the variety of food but staff is very rude
Nice East Asian supermarket - carries a lot of korean / japanese brands. Good selection of meats (including wagyu). Generally clean.
I love salmon sashimi here
I absolutely LOVED going here when I went on my trip to Michigan I saw this was there in Troy and had to go here, the inside felt like a almost real Korean convenient store.
I agree that they dont care too much about customers. Korean are very arrogant people and if you dont look white then they will not show much respect toward you. There are a large variety of things but definitely check the dates before you buy.
I gave this place a one star because i saw a worker dropped a piece of sushi grade fish on the floor. The worker picked up the fish and put it back on a plastic tray and put plastic wrap on. If it wasnt for this incidence, i would have given this place a 4 stars.
I love kimchi
Observing CDC best practices for corona viru--cleaning carts and giving staff masks!! I feel safe shopping here. This is where I go to find whole grains. They have great produce at a great price. Lots of vegetation options in the deli and freezer sections.
Great place to shop at. Great selection of seafood mmmm
Prices are decent. Produce and meat/seafood are nice quality. Most of all the cashiers and staff are very nice. I get a great vibe from the customers and staff Everytime I visit. Best Asian food market in Oakland county!
I am very disappointed at a poor customer service of H-mart,Troy, especially related to the safety.Last month, I was severely injured from an accident when I visited H-mart. I got a concussion on my head and my wrist bone has been fractured as a heavy stuff has been fallen on my head. I went to emergency room and underwent a surgical operation. This bone fracture will take 4 to 6 weeks or longer to heal. After the surgery, I contacted the manager of the H-mart to report this accident and asked to deal with an accident insurance. After almost one month later, the manager of H mart replied me with an answer – “H-mart will not cover any medical expense at all because I didn’t report the accident at the very day of the accident and my visit was not identified via a surveillance camera”. I could not accept the reasoning for the rejection. Since the injury was so severe, I had to go to ER immediately. There was no time to report the incident to the H-mart. I could see staffs only in the counter. Every staff was so busy. Nobody cared about the accident. Moreover, no surveillance camera was installed in that aisle. That’s why I tried to contact a manager responsible for the insurance. I tried to call her many times, left messages, and sent email to appeal my case. However, the manger ignored my phone and emails. She treated me as shameless fellow who try to make a money using the accident. She never expressed any regret about the accident. She just seemed to avoid any complication related to the compensation.
I was there on 01/23/2020 at 3pm and one of the cashiers was wearing a face shield and a mask, but the mask was not covering his nose. Very frustrating, the place was full and employees not following proper COVID precautions
You are straight up not living life to the fullest if you live in the area and dont pop in here for authentic asian products once in a while!
My food heaven on earth! They have everything from fresh fishy to instant noodles (which by the way the best kinds of instant noodles are found here). Nice staff, sanitary is not completely 10/10 but its not a big deal. Love this store!
Would give ZERO stars if possible. Id been to the H Mart in Cary, NC and I felt like I was in paradise when I was there. Fresh fish was abundant, every imaginable fruit/veggie/meat/sake/ramen/sauce was beautifully lined up and everything looked gorgeously fresh. So imagine my disdain when I enter H Mart Troy, and almost all items are super past-their-due-date, or have mold on them. The fruits and veggies were either rotten or moldy, and the packaged fresh blue crab was definitely years old and smelly. Even the bags of lychees, cherries and other fruits I purchased looked nice from the outside, but once I got home, I realised they were moldy or rotten. The fresh fish on ice was the only saving grace - the mackerel was quite tasty, I am yet to try the king fish or shrimp I bought. Honestly, after having spent $275 on a weeks groceries (it was my birthday and I was still high from my trip to H Mart, Cary) I wish Id never come here and I cannot stress enough just how poorly his particular H Mart is managed, and how their fresh produce should rather be called moldy or rotten produce because youre sure to find that here!
Great customer service! Clean and organized
Great selection of Asian groceries
Worst customer service specially in the fish area.
I really liked their dishes. I always get excellent customer service here. The place is clean and the cashiers are always super nice. Will come visit again.
One of the best asian markets but know your prices on staple items - excellent fish & meats, good produce prices - been going here for years
My all time favorite Asian store ever! Its has a variety of foods and the produce is always fresh. An extra feature is the Korean restaurant that is inside of it. They offer classic Korean dishes at an amazing price and taste just as good, if not better. Its a good sign when you look around and most tables are filled with other Koreans.
Love this store! Close to home, good service, clean, wonderful and large selection of fresh produce and asian products, always has lot of stock
Great Korean/Asian grocery store. Pretty clean, well-organized, LARGE produce department with all kinds of Asian fruits and vegetables, extensive Kimchi selection, AMAZING FRESH (live) SEAFOOD, lots of non-food items like kitchen and bath items also. Quick checkout. I was quite impressed. Highly recommended.
H Mart is a great place to make a quick stop to get whatever specialty item you need for your authentic dishes. I noticed there wasnt really any one around to help but there were lots of ladies up front. The floors were clean, but a little dingy from age in a little beat up. The shelter well organized and clean as well as the meat departments in Seafood. I came for only one item and it was really hard for me to not buy more.
This H-Mart is a lot smaller than the other ones we have visited. It has one simple food court and does not carry as many items as other H-Marts in other area. Also, we often found prices not matching the advertisement. Nevertheless, they have good quality of meat if you can find them.
Very good selection of Korean and Japanese food items. Probably best in Michigan.
One of the best grocery stores in the area. The ramen is amazing
The store has been totally renewed. It is a lot brighter and I’ve seen a lot of new products. Definitely worth a visit!
This store has expanded and now is huge. Great selection of veggies and seafood. Fast checkout with little lines. I love coming here.
If youre into Asian recipes with super unique ingredients, you will find every ingredient you need here. I drove to 3 different specialty markets in the area trying to piece together a Thai dish and 3 of the ingredients could ONLY be found at H Mart. Just beware, if youre new to the cuisine it can be daunting navigating the store and finding what you need. Stuff can get a little weird. :)
Highly organised and clean asian grocery store. We could find many Chinese- Japanese house hold items like utensils, green tea varieties, noodles, frozen stuffs, packed dried fishes etc..They provide variety of fresh and frozen seafood items and we tried fresh prawns, squid, king fish, pompana which are always good, we never experienced any worse in these items. Its not an expensive place too.
Great place to go if youre looking for ingredients to make an asian dish, or just on the lookout for some fun new snacks. They have a nice selection of produce you wont find at other grocery stores, and everything looks pretty fresh. Didnt purchase any meat, but their cuts all looked pretty good and were fairly priced. I highly recommend checking out their ad every week, they have some amazing deals on produce! If youre shopping here in the winter, wear a coat. The store is a bit chilly.
Unique Korean super market.
I initially loved it, traveled far to shop here. On my 3rd visit I saw the biggest RAT I have ever seen in real life. I told the staff and they was not fazed, actually one person who helped me earlier pretended to not speak English. If you dont mind RATS (which I do) they actually have good products.
Lots of Asian food to buy, clean and well arrange.
Place to shop Korean/Chainese/Asian grocery.
Authentic Asian Food, cheap steaks, lots of fresh seafood. Great customer service. Food & home items. Mainly Korean food influence. Was a great experience for my husband and i first time.
Great seaweed selection. hot food is always good! dont expect to find a huge variety of things
They have a great selection of meats and ramen noodles!
They were not what I expected when you compare it H mart in Chicago. Small and didnt even carry flavor soju or any good alcohol for that matter. Food selection and correct price labeling could have been better as well
The fresh products and cooked dishes here are not clean. I ordered a bowl of noodles and I spotted some flies flying around. Flies have to lay their eggs somewhere so I assumed it was the exposed trash bin. Low and behold, while I was eating my bowl of rice, I picked up a boiled, fly maggot with my chopsticks. I was so disgusted that I almost threw up. I stopped eating the dining areas food after that. Today I bought a bag of fresh chestnuts, I boiled then and started peeling one. I spotted a strange hole and before eating it, I peeled it open and saw a dead maggot burrowed in the chestnut.Their packaged products are okay so far but is it normal to have maggots in your food? Shouldnt this place have health regulations?
Seafood area people they don’t care customers they are not busy they just walk around..
When you buy their sale items, be careful to check the expiration date. Sometimes their sale items are just about to expire.I throw away a lot of sale items I bought from this H mart. What a waste!
First time shopping there today and I could have spent hours picking out groceries and spending time looking at everything. The fresh live seafood already has me planning our next meal.
Tasty Korean food! I had the Jampong soup and enjoyed it. It consists of a spicy, light-bodied broth filled with yummy seafood and nice noodles.
This is probably one of the coolest asian markets in the metro Detroit area. they have a good selection of asian beers and also they have a good selection of asian food and snacks and the people that work here are super friendly and very helpful.
My review is confined to the fruit and vegetables only. Great selection of produce, very fresh, and low prices. I havent tried their meats/seafood or other products.
Love getting some korean food to go here, it usually stays hot the whole drive home. I just wish they would give my their dishes normally served in a stone bowl to go, just not in a stone bowl. I guess it just has to be served that way!
This place has fresh selection of Asian vegetables, meat, seafood, and other Asian food. They have weekly sale, and their sale priced items are excellent deals. It is the cleanest Asian food store in this area.
By far the largest selection of asian groceries in the area. their restaurants pretty good too.
Huge selection! Nice seafood department. Produce can be hit or miss quality wise. The little restaurant in there is fantastic! The lady is hard to understand, so watch for your order, but the food is better than most regular restaurants Ive been to! The spicy wings and the udon noodles are my favorites. Btw, when it comes to spicy, you better be ready! This is for Asians, by Asians, so the heat can get pretty intense.
Great selection of Asian good in general but the employees are dishonest at best.I ordered a live lobster from their seafood area and they switched it out for behind the counter for a dead rotting one. The guy even had the nerve claim he didnt do it even after I saw him in the act.Beware of this place
Be careful before shopping here! I’ve gotten cheated multiple times from the checkout people ringing up the wrong thing (thank god I caught them)! I went home and most of the fruit I bought like berries and lychee were moldy. I’ve actually never seen so much mold in my life! The mochi I bought was moldy too! Very gross!
If you need Korean ingredients, this is the place to go. I have lived in Korea, and I know about their cuisine in the Andong, Seoul, and Gyeonggido region. It appears the Koreans who work/shop at this store prefer fish based prepared foods. Please be prepared for this if you get their stews/jiggaes from the food court area. But if you want better prepared meals, I suggest you go to the restaurants next to it. If you want kimchi, get them in their jars near the aisles. One thing I didnt see is the Cham I Sul soju. Instead, they only had malguelsoorok (which a stockperson told me was soju). It was fine, but I prefer chamisul soju, and it is NOT grape wine. There is no grape flavor, if you are expecting that. Hopefully, they can get better translations on their labels. However, if you know what you want, pretty much any ingredient is there and they have many varieties of the gochujang pepper paste.
Good selection of Asian groceries. Also a little restaurant w Korean food that’s quite popular
Very rude cashiers. I asked a simple question, no response. I asked to talk to a manager and he speaks zero English. The store always smells bad, specially the seafood area. Their best selection is the salmon (fresh and at reasonable price), but I rather buy it somewhere else than deal with mean/disrespectful/rude employees.
One of biggest Korean grocery store. Not necessarily clean and well organized but one of the poor operation and dirty store. They need benchmark other stores
I like the selection of products from fruit, vegetables, and dry goods. There is a small food cafe in the store to sit and eat if you get hungry. The recent renovations make it more spacious, cleaner, and brighter than before.
Every time I shop there I get spoiled or expired foods. I dont think owner of the place is honest. Must watch what you buy, many items are old and past due date. Do not buy meat products either terrible quality. If you want to shop at real H mart go to Chicago. Even some small Korean grocery stores are much better than this place. You wont see many Koreans shop at this place and reason is H-mart Troy is dirty and bad quality.
Excellent! The staff is top notch! They helped me beyond what is expected of a supermarket staff! I totally recommend this place!
Great for food, produce, spices, mixes, etc. The also have nonperishible goods like homecare and beauty products. You can sign up for a card that offers monthly discounted specials. Do them a favor and be patient when waiting for service at the seafood counter. Stop by after shopping at the food court, delicious!
They sell fresh seafood, but check out line is slow.
First time having Korean food. Was awesome, I will be back.
Fresh garlic and green onions were good. Nice selection of Korean BBQ beef.
