Great marine supply store but it does not carry as much inventory as other West Marine Stores in southeastern Michigan. This is due to the building being smaller than other West Marine Stores I have visited, plus it is located in a strip mall. They are also currently out of stock or very low on stock on many items due to issues with suppliers and the virus pandemic according to the employees. Regardless it is a very clean and organized store with a friendly knowledge staff and since the store is only 5 minutes away from my house, I frequently visit this location hoping I can find the parts and supplies I need before driving a half hour to the next closest West Marine.

Its the boater community. For the most part everyone theres nice!

Employees were very nice helpful and if you had a question about something they had people that knew what they were talking about.

Brian was very rude about a mask. Prices are also high. I will not be back.

Had everything I needed.

Not the place to go to get answers to the hard questions. Stock levels seem to always be low. An okay place if you need something quick, otherwise there are better alternative places to shop. Not my first choice to shop for Marine supplies, due to price points.

I called the Bay City store looking for several items. Bay City was out of everything. I found everything I needed at the Troy store which is only 3 miles further to drive.

Although they didnt have what I was looking for, the staff is friendly and helpful. There are lots of goodies for boaters. And plenty of things to be adapted to us land-lubbers too.

Store has a pretty wide section of marine items from accessories and toys to maintenance and repair items. Staff is nice and helpful. Only real downside is theyre expensive, probably one of the most expensive options around.

If they have the part they will tell you come get it, but will not take the initiative to order it for you for next day or so.

Great store if your one for the water ! For I am that, but the great lakes is nothing like the ocean, so Hawaii here I come !!! I got a great deal on the things I needed for a cruise . And the employees were awesome in answering my questions and service . Plus your not in royal oak, or as I call it the royal oak . I am Matthew and I approve of this message...

This is a dangerous store for me. I cant leave empty handed or just with what I came for.

We’ve been corporate customers for over 15 years, but no more. I needed only one $3.00 item. As usual, they had none. I was the only customer in the store and was “helped” by Todd, who I would think is actually Defender Marine’s secret plant. First, Todd was gruff and surly. Then Todd told me they has some in the back, but only the more expensive $8.00 substitute. Then kept pushing me to buy more than I needed. He is certainly someone who should’ve NOT be dealing with the public. Not really use to the high pressure tactics at West Marine. Then, to top it off, he refused to give me our corporate discount because I didn’t have my corporate card with me. Mind you, I had driven 20 minutes to get there, had the account number and other ID. No matter, “Todd” lied and claimed that has always been policy. I mentioned that I had purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of items for over a decade without my card at that store. No budging Todd. No discount. That ultimate guardian of corporate profits, Todd stiffed me on my $1.50 discount on the $8 purchase. After being treated like a criminal, I walked out without finishing the purchase and will never shop here again. We are moving our corporpate business to Defender Marine who always provides super low prices, outstanding customer service and in stock items. Oh, and I found what I was looking for at the local auto parts store for $2.50 less. Thanks Todd.

The worst customer service in my life!!! I basically woke up the young man at customer service, he asked how he could help me and then listened to a conversation going on behind me, rather that what I was looking for. He then asked again what he could help me with and I said no, of go elsewhere. I own 2 boats and if you dont want to listen/hello tour customer, there are tons of other places to go. Im sorry that I watere my time to drive to your store.
