After a long day of driving, and a hard boiled egg for breakfast, I felt like a hearty lunch/dinner. Great chicken salad club sandwich on rye toast, coleslaw (the yummy kind), and delicious super crispy fries. How can I go wrong, and I didnt at Country View Diner on Route 7 in Troy, NY. Stop by, they have amazing dinner specials. Right across from Tractor Supply. Enjoy!
My husband and I popped in to this diner yesterday after a long drive back from Vermont. My husband had veggie omelette which he said was good. I ordered a pastrami sandwich special on rye! I know I’m not in Brooklyn but that bread is not rye and the one slice of preheated awful pastrami is not it either. Don’t put it as a special if you can’t do it right and don’t give people one slice of pastrami! My husband said the bathroom was filthy!!! Never will go back!

My husband and I stopped at Country View Diner for breakfast after a quick trip to New Hampshire.We found an empty table and our server greeted us very quickly. She brought coffee right away and was very friendly and efficient.Our food was delicious and served promptly. Even though it was very busy, we didnt feel rushed or crowded. Everything was very clean. We would definitely go back!
Hit in the off hours, service was prompt and welcoming. We just had a couple sandwiches from their extensive menu. Food was great hit the spot after several hours on the road
I was driving solo from Northern Vermont back to Southeastern PA and I hit a stretch of road that seemed to offer nothing but convenience store options right at lunch time. I was about to give up when I came apon the Country View Diner. I had one of the lunch specials, a taco salad with grilled chicken, chicken rice soup, and a dessert that I passed on, all for around $10. The service was friendly, the diner and facilities were clean and well kept, and the food was good. Your not getting 5 star food at a roadside diner, but by diner standards these folks are excellent. I saw a number of surrounding orders come to their respective tables and the breakfast (served all day) offerings and hamburgers looked particularly good. I dont know if Ill ever be in the area at mealtime again, but if so I will certainly stop here again.

We always have an exceptional experience at Country View; the food is spectacular, the service is quick and precise, and the prices are as reasonable as youll find. Weve never had a single meal at Country View that was anything less than amazing.
Ordered the lemon pepper chicken.Tasted like it was way over seasoned with a lemon pepper salt. Rice and broccoli were good. My son got the grilled chicken wrap. He said it tasted dry. My granddaughter got the kids chicken tender meal. Her chicken tenders tasted like they were cooked in old grease. My daughter got the pizza burger and said it was good. My meal came with a house dessert so I ordered the rice pudding. It had a fishy taste to it, like as if the pudding was kept in the same refrigeration with fish. The waitress was very friendly as well as the host that sat us. The service was the best part of our visit but very unlikely that we will return. There was a sign on the bathroom stall that said to put the (toliet) paper in the wastebasket instead of the toliet which I felt was very unsanitary for a public restroom.
My grandmother and I used to go here when I was very young. She passed away recently so I go here when I need a moment to myself and remember the good times. The food is comfort food but yummy. I recently moved out of town but Ill be back when Im back around for old times sake.
Decent food, wide selection, good service. Quality won’t amaze you but it won’t make you dislike the food either. They also offer a drive through service.

I took my father out for Fathers day and this was actually our third choice because everywhere else was closed. Ive never been here before but I will happily go back. The food was amazing, the staff were all very and it was a great experience. For a small diner Ive never heard of this place is amazing. Even the land around the place is nice. It was a wonderful bonding experience and Im very thankful to everyone there working on that holiday.

There were 5 of us, service was ok, food was below par, some dishes were cold, others very bland. Im not sure any if us finished our food.The restaurant itself could use a good cleaning.
Waitress was pleasant, food wait time was rather Quick. However Onion Rings were black and clearly cooked in old burnt oil. Chicken parmigiana was great but the itilian bread was seasoned with cinnamon, never in my life did I have that. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to ask waitress and she stated. We use it in our bread for french toast. I wonder if we had some cross contamination. Wait!! What? Wont be going back for dinner. Never a complaint with the breakfast though.
My wife and I went to this restaurant for dinner tonight. As we were greeted by a rude woman and was ask if we were vaccinated. ( illegal )I do advertising there and would go to eat there quiet often. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND BOYCOTTING THIS DINNER
This is absolutely NOT where you find the locals! The food is always a disappointment and is either undercooked or burnt or just fake. Its the only diner I know of that serves precooked bacon. We give it a try every few years or so in the hopes they started serving fresh & real food, but have yet to be impressed enough to come back regularly.

Good food at a fair price. The fries are nice, a bit more crispy and flavorful than your standard diner fare. Burgers were cooked as requested, the toasted buns are a nice touch.

Great stop on our way from NH to Central NY. Had a small issue with a sandwich supposedly on a hard roll, which turned out to be a hamburger bun. They credited the upcharge, no questions asked.

The food was ok... pancakes were flavorless, potatoes were undercooked, and toast burnt. The bathroom was disgusting....they get 3 stars because the waitress was nice and the hash was good but if Im in the area again, I likely will not return.

11/26/19: We stopped in for lunch on the way south. Nice place, friendly staff. Good food. Free WiFi. Tapioca pudding-small pearl & slightly over cooked :( still tasted good. The GF had the grilled chicken- it was really good!I had the Turkey wrap, it was ok but no need to get again, will try something else next time! Thanks -

Usually its ready good but their sauce was very bland you could tell it was out of a can but they didnt put enough spices in it.

5 yrs of my PhD at RPI, I frequently visited this place, tucked away in a quiet outside the Troy town. Its been 10 yrs since. There were no Google maps and restaurant reviews then. I remembered it just a while ago, and came on the maps looking for some pics of the place and food to feel nostalgic! 🙂 I really miss it sometimes! ♥️

Waitress was great and most of the food was good. I ordered the carbenara but the bacon was way under cooked. They remade it but it took so long that the rest of my party ate and finished before I even got it. The 2nd time the bacon was cooked but still soft.

First time here today on our way home from Eagle Bridge to Arkville, NY. Excellent service, food was delicious and good portions. Very reasonable prices. Wait staff very attentive, friendly, and professional. Will definitely stop here again. The home made baked goods are out of this world delicious. Highly recommend this diner.

To say the place was lackluster would be a compliment. COVID had lowered the standards on food apparently and this place took that in stride.So heres the catch. 3-Egg Omelette. Ham, Cheese, Bacon. No onions or pepper in the home fries.Eggs arrive dry and plain, pale in color as if they were old. No bacon in the Omelette. Wifes home fries came out with Onion. No offer to remake anything, just brought out a side of bacon.Now, cleanliness was almost as bad. Dusty bathroom, flooded urinal, flies throughout the diner while we were eating.I make it a point to go diner to diner writing reviews on the best places to get breakfast. This is one I will make a point not to return to.

Dawn is the best server, ask for her. Everyone else is great though! So if you dont get Dawn youll still get great service. Their veal and peppers lunch special is amazing, and their London broil is divine.Breakfast is their most popular meal, and my favorite thing is the waffles 😊

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered “turkey and stuffing special” Stuffing was chewy obviously stale bread, prepared with CINNAMON! Who does that? It was like bread pudding with gravy!! Horrible! Cold congealed yellow gravy, I assume was chicken flavored but I dunno for sure.Glazed carrots were gooey with an unidentifiable glaze- like, we seriously could not guess what was on them but it was awful.Best part of metal was the chlorinated water to wash the taste of that sludge out of my mouth. Salad had uncooked rock hard dried kidney beans in it! Truly THE WORST FOOD I’VE EVER BEEN SERVED BAR NONE!! All three of us left 90% of our food untouched. Staff was having some sort of personal issue, obviously unconcerned that we left a table full of food untouched. I’d eat roadkill before going there again.Shudder.Yes. It really truly WAS THAT BAD.

Located just outside Troy on #7. Its been refurbished nicely so its new & welcoming. It has good parking. My first time there but service was friendly, salad fresh & crispy, tasty coffee. It is a diner with all the usual diner fare but newer & nicer than many.
Wonderfull as always! Always stop on our way to Vermont or on the way home.
