Milgard honored their lifetime warranty for original purchasers. Our Milgard windows are 14 years old. Valentin did a great job replacing three window panes, and fixing several other windows. We highly recommend Milgard windows.
Milgard is true to its word regarding the replacement of failed windows for first owners of a residence. Were the first owners of our home of over 30 years, and Milgard (Tualitin, OR) replaced a large failed window, over 12 feet above our entry way (dangerous job), without any hassle to us.All the people involved, from office staff to technicians who came to our home for measurements and installation, were polite, knowledgeable and competent. The people who actually installed the new window took excellent safety precautions for people and pets and exercised care so as not to damage property.
I’ve had Milgard windows installed in my house. The locks don’t work with any consistency, a number don’t even latch, 3 sashes don’t even stay open. They are brand new the stickers are still on! I bought them to replace old wood windows and I can’t say how disappointed I am after shopping around for what I thought would be a great replacement. I waited over double the lead time told by the supplier for them to arrive after months of just trying to get quotes. I am now waiting for a response from the supplier on when the ‘emergency’ service will take place and have no idea if they will fix them. I would never recommend this company to anyone buying windows in the future. It has been a complete mess!
I purchased windows in August of 2019, and the screens disintegrated within less than a year* and the locks are not working (the windows can be easily opened from the outside even when in locked position). Further, I now have one that is jammed open and they are refusing service for several months. I took one off the tracks to clean the outside, and the metal clip that derails them snapped, jamming the window half open and immobile. I filed a request for service and around a month later got a reply that many customers elect to replace the clips themselves because our service takes too long without even an offer to send a new clip. WOW. So my window is jammed open, its the rainy season in Oregon- early October. I asked for a service visit anyway, and the schedule me for late December. They are electing to allow our house to have an open window for 3 months to let in all the rain and cold. I hope they dont mind the bill for water damage and electrical. It may be time to talk to a lawyer.*Because they buy the screens from a different company the screens are not under the same warranty and Milguard offers nothing more than Im sorry you feel that way. Specifically the plastic bits that hold the screens in and the pull tab that lets you take the screens on and off must be made of biodegradable plastic because degrade it did. Several of these broke with a light touch on first use.
PLEASE DON’T SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. They apparently don’t like to pay their employees. They are now over 3 weeks late on paying my partner and have continuously given us the go around.
I recently purchased a higher end Millard slidding door which came from the factory defective. I opened a warranty claim immediately and after 2 months there was no follow up or communication. I had to call and inquire why there hadn’t been any follow up. I was given some bs explanation about how it was filed. An appointment was made and when they showed up I was told the door was defective and they couldn’t do anything about it. I called customer service and was told some of the doors come out of the factory with the issue I was having. By the way the issue was the lock rattling around internally as it slides back and forth. I told them the display one I looked at didn’t rattle and I was told they were not going replace it and they would send someone out as a courtesy to me.After they came out again the noise that couldn’t be fixed was quieter but the locking mechanism isn’t working properly. I am tired of dealing with this problem and Milgard doesn’t seem to care about it at all. I have written and called numerous times with no result.Do not buy Milgard products, they are junk and don’t stand behind them. The installers even said they are having problems with there products and are going to stop installing them.By the way if Milgard reads these posts my claim number is 05247047 and I can go into much more detail about my experience. Thanks for responding to this post. Do you have a timeline as to when someone will be contacting me to discuss my experience and issues?
This review is specifically focused on Milgard vinyl sliding doors.Know that all Milgard sliding vinyl doors come with this most unsightly, highly reflective aluminum window spacer shown. Also know that Milgard hides this information from its customers. You will never find this detail anywhere until the windows shows up.This is very sad that a company would close all access to showrooms to see products, still sell them during COVID19 event and be unapologetic about hiding ugly details, with no customer recourse at all. This spacer does not match the one used in same branded Trinsic windows, but again that information is hidden. Attached is a picture of the spacer you will get - but Milgard hides this detail from customers.Caveat emptor.Buy your windows from a reputable company that is transparent about what you buy - and not deceptive.I will never use Milgard windows ever again on sheer principle.
Great Windows. High quality windows are made.
Three words...Life time guarantee.....Where else will will you find such a claim....MILGARD....Clearly the best...
The life time tag is not true. We had one glass pane on a window shatter (not due to impact) and Milgard said they warranty the seal only. So, if it cracks or breaks, you are on your own. Very misleading.
We have owned our home for 27 years, and during that time weve had Milgard replace 7 windows where the seal broke and the window needed to be replaced. The process to get the window replaced went smoothly and without a hitch each time. The service reps who came to our house have been knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. The windows still look fantastic after all these years!
Purchased a home with Milgard screens and windows. The screen doors were only 2 years old, and when we arrived at the house, the screens were completely inoperable. The screens were entirely too tall for the frame, and bowed when they were pulled towards the middle of the frame, preventing them from sliding at all. We called Milgard to inquire about the warranty, and were told there was a 10 year warranty, and that they would schedule a technician to come out to see the doors. We were quoted 7-10 days to hear back from them. After waiting over a month to hear back from Milgard, we had to call them and eventually spoke with a customer service person. They informed us that there was in fact only a 1 year warranty on the screens, and that there was nothing they could do but refer us to another repair company. I would not recommend using this company for windows or screens because of the poor customer service we received, as well as the poor quality of the screen doors.
Would have liked the installer not to be in a hurry, and give me better instructions/help on how to remove my slider bedroom window in order to clean the outside. Instead i was told that neither my living room or bedroom slider windows cannot be taken out of their tracks inside for either replacing or cleaning, and I would need to hire professionals with ladders to clean my windows on the outside. Either poor engineering or just not well versed in your product.
Just had two large front/picture windows replaced due to moisture collecting inside panes. Originally installed in 1994. No hassle, no questions, no cost to replace...lifetime guarantee. The Tecs arrived on time and were done in 45 minutes!! Extremely good at their job and nice guys.
Our windows have an arched upper section with grids. The first set that were installed the grids were off & did not lineup. They came out assessed the issue then remade the widows, set another appointment to change out the old glass with the new & now they are perfect. Through out the entire process they were very professional, & courteous. Setting appointments & then a reminder call a day before.
This review is about Milgards Essence Line & their customer service. The project took place in June 2020 and we have been trying to rectify the issues with Milgard since July.Through All Season Windows & Siding, we had 11 windows replaced in our 1910 Craftsman home. We chose to use Milgards Essence Line at the recommendation of All Season and the look of the windows + interior wood girds really appealed. Our home has period wainscoting and trim and we wanted to preserve the look and feel of the original colonial style casement windows, but replace them with an update that offered better functionality and insulation. We were gone for the week of the window installation but returned home and were disappointed in the quality of the actual windows. The manufacturing was sloppy, especially for the price - pulls were installed off center, one of the stickers was left on the back of the outside grid (thus visible from the inside) and many of the grids had significant gaps between where they connected with the pane frame. Compared to a few Jeld Wen window replacements installed by previous owners, there were many noticeable defects with the Essence windows but the price of the Essence series was nearly 3x higher. We brought these issues up to Milgard and they sent out a tech in July, who confirmed that from what he saw, the windows were not up to Milgards standards and were covered by warranty. We then were told that when the grid spacing can accommodate more than a credit card it is considered a factory defect and under warranty to be replaced - which came to a total of 17 out of the 19 panes in our windows. As we had already paid to have the windows stained to match our home interiors, Milgard could not assure us that replacement windows would not have the same issues (??) and we did not want to go through the hassle of having them all replaced (nor the expense and waste as the R value of the windows was fine) we asked for a refund instead - roughly 15% of the total cost. This is when we began our correspondence with Tom Dobbs in late July, which included at least one phone call and a long series of emails that continue to this day. He asked us what we felt would be fair in terms of a refund, and after talking with our GC we asked for the 15% mentioned above.A week goes by. Tom responds with:Going over the problems of your windows and assessing the gaps in the bead, although out of spec by our standards, the issues are a fairly small defect in the overall aesthetics of your windows. We understand that there would be more time and hassle to replace all of the panels, but the amount your are requesting for the aesthetic issues of your windows is more than we feel is fair. And then offered us approximately 50% of what we asked for.To put your company name on something, admit that it is not up to standard but then simultaneously say the issues are a fairly small defect in the overall aesthetics of your windows to a customer who opted for your product primarily because of they aesthetic & supposed quality was a poor choice. We paid for and expected a high end, high quality product, but did not get it.We push for more, explain our reasoning. Another week goes by with no reply from Tom. He gets back to us on August 3, says they can offer $3,000, and we accept. On August 5th he says the check is going out and will take 4-6 weeks.September 12 rolls around - no check. I write to Tom to ask for a status update. No reply. Eventually I have to copy our GC in on the follow up and 9 days after I sent my inquiry, on September 23, we get this reply:I do apologize for the lack of response and the fact we have not sent you what we promised.I just dug deeper after your email and found it was actually missed and never submitted. My supervisor has made sure it is submitted now and is trying to get a rush on the check. It is now October 2 and no check. The product quality was disappointing enough, but the lack of customer service & abysmal follow through ensures we will never use Milgard again.
Our home was constructed in 2004 with Milgard Windows. After 15 years one window lost its seal and developed mold/mildew on the inside surface of the pane. Milgard replaced & installed the window at no cost to us under warranty. Their service person was efficient and courteous.
The people I talked with on the phone were very helpful and efficient. Stan and Vlad, the service men that came to my house, were AMAZING! So fast and efficient! They showed up on time and were done so fast. I dont think it would be humanly possible to do the job any quicker. And the windows look great! I love them! Thank you!
The technician arrived an hour early causing some grumbling here but he was absolutely great. Totally prepared, he did a perfect job. I am really impressed with the whole Milgard system from the technology to the service. The foggy windows were replaced in about five minutes.
The Milgard installer was professional and quickly finished his work. He did a good job. Regarding my specific case, I did have to pay for the repair work, after Milgard simply informed me, without any explanation, that my issue (a crack in the vinyl frame) was not a manufacturing defect. I still dont understand how I could have caused the crack. I think Milgard should provide its customers with an explanation, at least a sentence or two in writing, for why it is denying a warranty claim. Still, Im happy overall.
Millard stands by their products. Our patio door started to develop fog between the panes, and when we called they sent someone out soon afterwards. The gentleman immediately saw the issue and measured for a replacement. Two weeks later it was installed! We love their “wewill take care of you” response! This is a company that stands by it’s word and guarantee. Highly recommended!! John C./Beaverton
We had the fiberglass windows installed. The service rep was not very helpful, and they did not have fiberglass samples available in the showroom. When I asked if they had access to large-scale section drawings of the sills heads and jambs, he said no. Later, I found them on the website. Why did the sales rep with over 15 years experience know that? And if he did not know it, why did he not ask someone else in the company? It is industry standard to have these documents available, and we had a large order (we did our whole house) so it was not unreasonable to ask to see what we were buying. We went to the factory and were finally able to see samples. When the installers came, they were not very careful installing. We both work so were not at the home 100% of the time. BIG MISTAKE. After they left, we found MULTIPLE gouges in our new hardwood floors. It looked like they dropped the windows or some other heavy equipment. They tried to cover up the gouges with marker (we have dark wood floors, looks like a sharpie was used to cover it up).We also found multiple knicks in the frames. The frames are finished topically with a dark bronze color, and the knicks in the frame expose the white fiberglass below.Overall, the price was competitive, but the quality of the install and the quality of the sales personal was lacking. For the price we paid, I expect better service and MORE CAUTION when in my house!
Very low quality windows. If you want “builder” grade, “contractor” grade or whatever they call them then this is your company. I experienced seal failure after 2 short years and terrible customer service when I called to get answers.Skip this company if you are looking for a good window.
This has been an amazingly frustrating experience. I purchased a set of patio doors through Lowes in October 2017 and was told that Milgard was the best quality product, which I believed. The waiting time for delivery was around four weeks, but when I checked in Mid November there seemed to have been some glitch between Lowes and Milgard. In the end the delivery date was set to end of December.Delivery came on 12/29, but the order was only partially fulfilled. The delivery guys just said that they didnt have control of what was being loaded on the truck. The screen doors were missing, and he said he would report back to the company. Over the next couple of weeks after numerous conversations with sales and service, a delivery of the remaining order items was made in mid-January 2018, but thrown at our door in such a way that one of the doors was damaged beyond use. More telephone conversations and a promise that a service technician would come in February with a new door and some missing door stops. He came on the agreed date with a totally irrelevant metal list claiming that he didnt know anything about a missing screen door, and that there might be some communication issues between the sales and delivery and service departments, they all seemed to be in different places.Final service visit on March 1, 2018, 5 months after my purchase, where a technician happened to arrive with the missing items. It is such a pity that a company that clearly makes some very nice and useful products (I would give five stars for those) and by the way has some really nice telephone agents (I would give four stars for those) totally destroys its reputation by such a lack of a coordinated service effort (One star for the overall impression). But we are finally enjoying our enclosed patio.
Service apt was set up courteously and with short lead time. I forgot the first apt! The installer called me in my truck, I was very embarrassed. But he was very nice and said it would be rescheduled. It was promptly rescheduled and the window was replaced under lifetime warranty today. It was quick and painless, and he even did another minor repair of a loose retaining strip on a different window. I am very impressed with this company!! Thank you Milgard! Sincerely, Ron Nelson
Our 14 year old home had original Milgard windows, 2 of which had lost seals and were discolored. We contacted Milgard and were pleased they promptly sent someone to inspect and measure the windows. He said they were under warranty and would be replaced. The service technician estimated new glass to be delivered in about a month. Almost a month to the day the tech called and scheduled installation for the following day. He subsequently called to ask if he could move the service call up a few hours. He arrived right on schedule and installed the glass. He noted that one of the replacement windows had a scratch. He said he would order a replacement and we could expect an undamaged window to be available in about 3 weeks. Very professional, prompt and efficient. Great job.
We are very happy with the service provided to us by Milgard! The crew that came into our home was very professional and friendly. They did the job quickly and efficiently. Thank you, Milgard!
A Milgard technician just replaced our sliding glass doors (installed in 2004), which had lost their seals, and also checked the latch/handle on a different door. The technician arrived on time, worked quickly, and was friendly too. Everything went very smoothly, from the initial service request (via the web page) through to the service visit - and the doors look beautiful! Excellent service, thank you.
Appointment was made- time frame given. Service tech showed up punctually, replaced window- all within half an hour. Excellent service. Love our windows.
We had an issue with a newly installed door, and getting it fixed couldnt have been easier. The communication was clear, they were on time and the repair was done properly. Perfect! We are also very happy with the quality of the windows. The sliding door is so clear that it has taken some time to not feel like there is nothing there.
The 2 man crew were friendly, informative, professional in appearance and work. Quickly got to work, glass replaced in 10 mins time. They addressed the second issue on my case #, offered a solution which I agreed to have done to allow a larger window to drain better, plus a suggestion as to keeping the drains clean, and easy enough to do in the coastal winter/spring rainy, windy months.
Dave, my technician, was friendly, fast, showed up on time, and left no mess in my home. He replaced the window and the new one looks great! THANK YOU!
It took 3 visits, but in the end it was completed and done correctly. I thank the scheduling staff for their follow through to get this done. We would like to continue trusting the lifetime guarantee. We have had these windows for about 20 years now, spent the extra money for them, and want them to be as beautiful and working well as the day we bought them.
Fantastic, prompt customer service. After providing the necessary measurements and stock numbers for the defective window panel, the first available appointment was scheduled for installation. The service technician was prompt, courteous, and knowledgable, and performed the switch-out in about 15 minutes. We are the original owners of the property, and the windows are approximately 28 years old, and the match with the new window was perfect!Kudos for old-fashioned warranties and sterling customer service on all levels. Mark/Carol Peterson
I purchased my home in 2001 as the second owner. The previous owner had lived there 1 yr. When we bought the home it was noted that four of the windows had bad seals and would need replacement. I contacted a Chris Stone at Milgard who told me that they were no longer under warranty because I was the second owner. He looked up the windows based on the Home and gave me a quote of 1000$ to fix. He stated that was a good deal as he was just charging me for the glass. Frustrated I said I would get back to him. I decided to proceed and called Chris leaving several messages over a few months with no response.I gave up and recently decided to try and replace the glass once again but purchasing it through Home Depot to install myself. I called and was shuffled around to three people finally to be placed on hold for 20 Min.I got a gal in sales and explained the situation telling her I was just trying to identify the windows so I could order the glass. She seemed very put out and said “ well windows from 98 I doubt they have numbers on them”.I explained I had the numbers but that Chris previously was able to look up all the glass I needed based on the address. She said she didn’t know who that was and was very short and snippy. I was very disappointed as all I wanted was information to order glass on my own.She recommended a company that could do the work. Again I explained I just wanted to order the glass and gave her the numbers for what I had.She looked them up and was able to provide the dimensions except for one window that I could not find numbers on. I explained to her that Chris was able to locate all the glass but she said she couldn’t and would need the measurements.Obviously she didn’t want to help me and could have attempted to identify the window but just didn’t. Must work on commission and their was no money in it for her?Frustrated with the shity customer service and lack of follow through .... I think I might just buy windows through another company so they don’t get my business!
I had a window that lost the seal. Milgard replaced it with no issue. They came when they scheduled it and the installer was friendly and fast. I did not even have to sign anything. He just took care of it and left. I did have to give them numbers off the frame to identify which window needed replacing (they did not even make an initial trip to measure it, just based the replacement off the original order from many years ago). Very good service.
As usual your techs did a great job replacing a window. They called ahead of time to let me know when they would be arriving, and came prepared. They were courteous and did a great job cleaning up afterwords. I would highly recommend Milgard to anyone needing new windows.
Great experience on a warranty repair. This is the first warranty repair and it went more smoothly than I could have imagined. It gives me piece of mind because most of my windows have been replaced using Milgard.
Service person was knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because scheduling work has become more difficult and less personal. My first experiences with having a window replaced only required a single phone call. The Milgard rep would look up my window size based on my address and the service would be scheduled. Now my only option is to measure my own window, take a picture (for what purpose?) then upload this information online. Im guessing this is another example of a large corporation taking over a family business and eliminating the things that built the company reputation to begin with. Wondering when the lifetime warranty will be eliminated.
Excellent service. Good people and phone messages to let you know what time period to expect them. I have had Milgard window since 1999and they have been superb. Stood behind their products and their word.I highly recommend them.
I love Milgard windows. The lifetime guarantee is so helpful. I have used it twice in my home, and even more in my job as a Realtor. There is peace of mind knowing that I can spend the extra money on quality windows knowing that if anything fails it will be quick, easy, and seamless to get someone out to fix the problem. Both times Ive needed to replace a failed part in my home Ive been able to use their online request form to request service, have had had someone out within a month (granted my needs were not urgent, so that timeline worked well for me. It is especially great because it doesnt cost anything extra).
We replaced all our windows with Milgard windows. We had some custom sliders as well. These windows and doors are the best! They look awesome, work perfectly, and the customer service with this company is the greatest! We had a Milgard worker come to our house for some work on our doors. His name was Rocky. He was quick, early with arrival time and very knowledgeable about his job. Thank you!
The service man was prompt, friendly, efficient and had my window replaced in 20 minutes. Great service.
We are very pleased with how responsive Milgard has been in servicing their products and highly recommend using them. The windows are well made, but as with anything that expands and contracts with weather, problems are bound to occur. The crucial factor then becomes one of servicing; Milgard stands behind their products and is prompt to provide good service.
Great Experience. Everything was great for the first visit and it was identified at that time that all the windows needed spring updates. The second visit was also great. Very hard working and professional.
Great workman, great customer service EXCEPT the extremely long wait from request to installation. Please hire more staff to do this work!
No better window company. Excellent product and service. Lifetime warranty is almost too good to be true. Have replaced many windows over the years and Milgard is always responsible and professional
We had our house re-windowed and a new sliding door installed. Had some issues with the screen on the new door but Milgard kept at it (took at few visits) until it was fixed. All is well. Milgard is very easy to work with and quite responsive.
It is wonderful that a 20 year old window has been replaced at no charge, by two gentlemen who were punctual, polite, skilled, fast and pleasant.I can not think of any other company that has pleased me as much as yours, and I am 76 years old. I am sure my father would agree if he were alive.
After calling Milgard customer service I was very surprised and please with their professionalism and their willingness to honor their product warranty. The installer was knowledgeable and professional and was in/out in a few minutes. Very refreshing doing business with a company like Milgard.
Double sliding glass doors would not lock.Technician arrived early for the appointment (which was nice) and In about 5 minutes found that one side the handle was broken and the other side was missing screws.Door was fixed and he was gone in about 15 minutes.Only down side was that it took a month to get the tech out to us.
The repairman that came was very nice, prompt, and made sure my door was in working order and sprayed all the rails so it now slides much better too!
Beautiful windows, but right away one window would stay up and others wouldn’t close properly. Called Millard they sent someone out within a few days. He as on time, fixed the problem in everything. Loving these wondows
Wow - having been in the construction business for 20 years, I can say this was the most efficient process we have ever experienced. The customer service representative was so nice, the installers were early for their appointment and they were in and out just like that. Thank you so much.
Milgard came out and was very timely & efficient. The technician arrived when he said he would, addressed the issues quickly & efficiently, and was both courteous and professional. I have been happy with the Milgard windows since they were installed 14 years ago, and they completely honored their warranty.
Best Customer service when you call. they are very friendly and help you out.The crew who came were great .. ON TIME and very professional and did a great jobIf they fins something that maybe breaking they do a proactive fix which is awesome, saves them a trip and saves me the hassle
The windows and French door are beautiful! We also wanted the screen for the French door, but unfortunately Milgard doesnt make a screen for doors that open outward (only inward), so we need to look for another company that has the same high quality as Milgard. By the way, Johnson Home Improvement installed everything, and they were great.
Sergei showed up on time, was extremely professional, and the windows look great. I am completely satisfied!
Installation team was on time, courteous and professional. The install went well and Im very pleased with the results.
Again awesome thank you thank you five stars is all you gave me deserve six +
We had trouble with our sliding door be purchased from them over 10 years ago. It wasnt closing properly. They sent a tech out and he arrived on time and assessed and fixed the problem. He also identified an additional issue (need new wheels on one of the doors) and he arranged the appointment for us. Then a month later, 2 techs came out, on time, and replaced the wheels, cleaned the tracks. The door with new wheels moves like silk! All of this wes free of charge as it was part of their lifetime warranty. Milgard was wonderful to work with all around.
Milgard replaced five of my windows for free. They were here when they said they would be and worked very quickly to get the windows replaced. I am very pleased
I have owned my home for 22 years and each and every time there is ever a problem Milgard is right on top of it. There life long customer service to original home owners is top notch. The work men are always on time, pleasant, fast and knowledgeable.
The serviceman arrived within the allotted time and fixed both windows very nicely. He even cleaned the new glass after installing them. We are quite pleased with the work!
Windows fog up between the panes about 10 years after installation. I talked to couple staff, and the first one was pretty rude, but the second one was very nice—. It’s too bad, but I think windows should last more than 10 years.
The service men arrived on time, well prepared for the work, and completed their work quickly. They were professional and polite and caused no disruption. Well done.
Norm, our service tech was great replacing the three windows yesterday. Customer service was easy to work with and to get a replacement date scheduled and Norm was on time and did a great job!!!!
Milgard showed up and was super friendly, fast, professional and helpful. I love my Milgard Windows and the service they provide! Thanks so much!! My tech was great!!
The individuals that arrived at my home were courteous and knew exactly what to do to fix my window concerns. They even fixed a problem that was identified as an installation issue. The two guys were in and out in about 30 minutes. Doors are like new. Thanks
MILGARD WINDOWS *****5 STARS***** Milgard definitely keeps their word on the lifetime warranty!! 17 years later and an experienced technician arrived early and quickly replaced the windows where seals had been compromised. If we build again, we will only use Milgard Windows. Their professionalism and customer service is top-notch!
A little difficulty with the ID number and Warranty Department, but after these problems were overcome, all went smoothly. The repair and replacement were perfect. .
The technician arrived on time. He took his shoes off before entering, was professional and courteous. He knew what he was doing and completed his work on 2 windows in a short time. The response and service was excellent.
Absolutely great customer service! Arrived on time, dropped their shoes at the door, replaced two windows in short order! Nothing but good things to say.... Keep up the great work!
We had three windows that needed to be replaced. I called the company that we purchased the windows from and it was taken care of in very little time. The man that replaced the windows did the work in less than a half hour. Very good service.
We needed a window replacement due to a broken seal. The appointment was made easily. On appointment day the technician called before arriving, always appreciated. The service was completed toot sweet. All is well.
Robert replaced my window and Milgard gave me approval to have the window replaced. Milgard was wonderful and I am very appreciative. I had to ask the installer twice to stop talking to me like I am three years old. The one star is for Robert.
I have to admit builder & I started addressing issue raised in May in October; so totally not Milgard! However, since issue addressed = wrong size & scratched glass replacements. Two months of heat going out the window plastic look up front at a million dollar house.People who come to do the work are super! I dont have the best eyesight! I have great empathy for these people!!!!!!!!!!A month ago I wrote to corporate = no response. So today, down to 4 replacements. I insisted my husband not prepare 2 windows until size... verified. WE ACCEPTED!Delightful man! He said one was not exactly right. Husband will decide.Test is 6 out in sunlight = I was 20 when started in 2017.My guess is write to corporate. Third house is last = done. Luckily my friends have not had similar problems.
The service man was on time and did a fast excellent job fixing my window! Milgard is a great company and has great employees, from first contact to completion! Awesome, just awesome!
Dont be mislead by the advertised Full Lifetime Warranty. There really is no such thing and is only used to mislead customers. Once the house is sold, the warranty goes to only 10 years from the original date of the window purchase. Which means if you lived in your house for more than 10 years the warranty is void for the next home owner. Milgard tells me if they extended the warranty to new owners they would go out of business. Really? That is because they know their windows will not last a lifetime and they count on the fact that almost everyone sells their house at some point and therefore they really dont have to honor a lifetime warranty. I bought a house within 2 months of the 10 year period expiring, the seals had breached on 5 of my windows at the time I purchased the home. Unfortunately, I did not figure out who the manufacturer was until April - 10 months later which means the warranty was void 8 months ago. When I called Milgard to see if there is anything they could do, they told me no. So beware, there really is not a lifetime warranty unless you are born and die in the same house! I cant wait to tell this story to anyone who will listen. Dont fall for the misleading advertising!
After 27 years and several previous service calls including window replacements Milgard continues to deliver excellent service and customer care. Thank you so much for keeping our home in tip top shape. Jani A. West Linn Oregon
Rep showed up within the 2-hour window of time and fixed our windows quickly.
We are pleased with the support that Milgard Windows provides for their installations. In the last 20 years we have needed a few replacements of windows that have failed, and MIlgard has taken care of it quickly and professionally. I would recommend Milgard to anyone building a new home or replacing old windows in an existing home.
Our warranty work was performed on time and skillfully by friendly technicians who cleaned up perfectly. After 19 years, we still love our Milgarded house.
Great service! Emails and a call to confirm the appointment (complete with a picture of the tech). He was on time and took care of the problem quickly and professionally.
He was on time and worked quickly and carefully. The windows look great.
Our service rep was friendly, did a great job, was on time. Great experience.
Once I got on the calendar (took 6 weeks) everything went very well. The window looks great.
It took three tries before they had the correct part for the repair. They were late arriving for the appointment. Repair was done quickly and the technician was pleasant.
This is an outstanding window company that stands behind their product. We had six windows with broken seals. Weve lived in the house since it was built in 1989. They set up an appointment to measure the windows, two of which were large custom sizes. On time and very professional. In about three weeks, another call to set up the replacement appointment. Two gentlemen showed up on time and replaced all windows in less than two hours. All around an outstanding experience. IF we ever built again, would only go with Milgard.
The technician was very efficient and professional .New springs were replaced in our windows. Now the windows glide open and close easily. Thank you Milgard
Thank you for quickly resolving the glass that defected after 6 years. Your warranty service is awesome.
Doors did not have retractable screens when first shipped. both sent back to plant. Upon installation, one door would not lock, but crew came out and did a good job replacing lock. second door is still not installed, so can not rate it.
The problem with our sliding glass door to patio was corrected quickly and efficiently by Robert. We were so pleased that he knew what the problem was, put in a new part, cleaned up the track and was finished within 20 minutes. Thank you Milgard!
The service technician was not only on time, he was early. In addition, he was very quick and cleaned up after himself. I greatly appreciate a professional who does his/her job well, quickly, efficiently, and is timely. Thank you!
They have a great product but poor customer service. They scheduled an appointment without approving it by me. Then when I went to reschedule, they were unable to reschedule, only cancel. I asked why this was and they said they had admins to cancel reservations but not create, this doesn’t make sense to me.I also was very frustrated by the fact they only schedule one day a week and cannot accommodate other times.I think between their poor communication and lack of customer focus, I wouldn’t buy product from them again.
Lifetime warranty is awesome, easy to schedule repair. Repair person arrived promptly and made the repair in minutes. Looks great!
Great service all around. We used another window company when replacing windows at a different home and are by far happier with the prompt, easy, and pleasant service from Milgard.
After 27 years, our Milgard patio slider door finally succumbed to the elements and started leaking moisture. All it took was an email, and within a few weeks, Milgard came to our home, and our glass was replaced at no charge. Amazing!
Service rep was great. On time and professional. Took too long for the company to respond to my request for service but once they did it was handled well.
