The shop manager, Alan, is a great guy all around. Gives you honest and fair quotes, prices, and repairs. Every car I own comes here to get work done, and I usually dont trust shops. Al will answer every question you have honestly with no BS. Honesty is a trait far gone in this day and age but rest assured, youll find it at Brake Masters #101. I rarely leave reviews but my experience here today was definitely worth 5 stars. I took my car in for regular brake maintenance and Al and his crew went out of their way to make sure I understood what needed to be done, even showing me up close what some issues were, and gave me a discounted rate using a coupon they had. They were all professional, polite, and honest…and best of all: quick! They had me in and out within an hour on a Saturday and I was ready to hit the road for a long weekend. I’ll be back for sure.

Best first experience I’ve ever had with any auto mechanic shop in Tucson or anywhere else. My car had all kinds of brake issues which were diagnosed quickly and accurately, fixed promptly and professionally all at a price that was more than reasonable. Finding a trustworthy, competent mechanic who won’t take advantage of a customer’s vulnerability is worth its weight in gold. And these guys are it. Can’t say enough good things about this shop. My highest recommendation!

Called the day before and got a 9:30 am appointment for the next morning. I got in right at 9:30, no waiting. I thought I needed rotors for sure and brake pads but they checked those and said they were fine and that all I needed was to have the rotors turned to smooth them out. They saved me from wasting money by being honest. A rare find in an auto repair shop. This #101 shop also cleared one of my clouded front headlights and it was a big improvement in night driving. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

I just found out that my girlfriend was charged over $800 for a MAP sensor on her old Camry. This is a $25 dollar part and could be changed easily in 30 minutes. I’m so angry that they took advantage of her while I was on a business trip. Needless to say I will not be recommending she go here again. Unacceptable.

Josh diagnosed the problem with my brakes and suggested I might be eligible for a factory recall on this component of my Toyota. Josh really went above and beyond. Because of their kindness and honesty, I will definitely return for other maintenance/repairs on my vehicles. I recommend them highly.

The manager at this location went above and FAR beyond the realm of what I expected from them. Even being short handed, and in the middle of the covid mayhem, he fit me in and did a thorough inspection of a car that I wound up buying. I came in off the street, and he treated me like I was the most important person he saw that day. He even made balloon swords for a little boy who was bored waiting on his moms car repair. The kids face lit up, and he had a blast playing with them the rest of the time he was there. Its things like that that will keep me coming back and recommending this place to anyone that needs a car service.

At this Brake Masters, youll find equal and large doses of honesty and professional knowledge and none of the usual deception that has become the norm at far too many automotive shops including many in Tucson. I wouldnt bring my beloved 2002 Toyota Tacoma anywhere else. Its worth noting that you wont be interrogated for all of your personal data either; and subsequently harassed by a plethora of marketing emails and phone calls. This Brake Masters requires only basic info before getting to work on the issue and the reason you came to their shop, what should be the priority but often isnt in this industry. Lastly, the shop manager has a preference for pastrami subs made in the New England tradition, toasted with cheese and mustard. Bring one with you and you might get a deal!

I went to this location to have a wheel alignment done. Despite me telling them it had been several years since it had last been done, after hooking it up to the instruments they found that the alignment was nearly perfect. Instead of charging me they let me know that the alignment looked great and didnt charge me anything besides asking for a nice review. Well heres your nice review! It was one of the best car involved experiences I have ever had. They truly listen to what you need serviced, explain why it needs service, and find the best price/way to do it. On top of that they are all genuinely kind and hard workers that had the patience to explain car terminology to a semi-novice like me. I went in for a scheduled oil change this morning. Alan and his team had me in and out in 30 minutes, which was not what I expected on a Friday. Additionally, he was very professional, friendly, and personable. I will definitely be a returning customer!

I got there early in the morning and got in and out in an hour. They get busy fast, each person I came across acknowledged me and were very friendly and professional.

Dropped my 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 off for an estimate because my smart car displayed I needed break pads replaced. Al and Josh kept it all day to call back and give me an estimate of $1,070 for what should be simple break pads . I called the mercedes Benz dealership and obtained the estimate they gave me and honoring exactly what my car called for my total cost with Mercedes Benz of Tucson was only $310.00. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I Was told multiple changing stories as to the service and cost . First story was I should fix this today because my metal to metal risk on breaks was down to 20 miles max and Mercedes dealership takes advantage by charging a lot for labor . When I said I wouldn’t have availability until a later the story changed right away Al said I had about 300 miles left before metal to metal and if I brought it back they would get me right in ... this was when tires where off and car still up on their car lift . I was already shocked and questioning everything they were doing when I saw that the original paperwork I signed to drop off my car had some additions to it after the fact I signed . The additional notes said my car had oil all over the drivers side . Al asked who details my car because they spilled tire Grease on it and I was so angry because my car was spotless and clean when I left it there and when they brought it down from the lift it was obviously completely splattered with oil . They said they hadn’t moved it then the story changed and said they took it for a test drive . A test drive ? They didn’t own up to it but I took pictures and showed them with a napkin its oil . They said it’s probably soda or tire shine. They had the nerve to tell me that if I came back to do the service with them they would give me 18 dollars for a car wash . All these men saw was a woman by herself and thought they could take advantage . I’m so grateful for Mercedes Benz of Tucson they are honest and fair . Break masters would of gotten away with bashing Mercedes, taking my money and acting like they are the best answer for people when In reality they’re the ones you should be weary of . The nervous energy was obvious when I showed them all they shouldn’t be charging me or and explained that I had pictures of my vehicle before and after leaving it with them . Please do not even get an estimate with this business or these people .

I had got a car from a dealership and my check engine light was on .. I went to Brake masters and they let me know about everything that was wrong with my car .. They replaced a blower motor within my a/c unit. It cost me $425. Six months later it went out. It was attributed to Chevrolet factory defect and their bad design. Guess Chevy Impalas are notorious for this. I will never buy another Chevy again.

Weve previously had good customer service here and have been many times so we will be back.This is where my husband and I usually bring our cars to get oil changes, I came today and had an appointment at 10:00, obviously they take other cars in between because they said it would be an hour and a half or so. It took three and a half hours. we also asked that our tires be rotated and they werent, which I can tell because my car tells me the tire pressure or each tire so I know they were not rotated or filled like the paperwork says . Also the technicians dont wear masks inside your vehicle or when they come In the building. Like I get its hot out but its a pandemic, you should be wearing a mask when you come in and inside of our vehicles. Overall pretty disappointed in our service.

I called today to get an oil change appointment. They got me right in today and it was even earlier than expected. My appointment was at 2:30 and I picked up my car at 2! Al took really good care of us and even gave me some fresh catnip for my Yuzu, which she loved! Fast and friendly! Totally worth it!

They were great! Super awesome! They did my oil change super fast because they knew I had to wait there and they bunjee corded my hood shut because it didn’t latch with no extra charge.

I took my vehicle to this location a few weeks ago when my brakes started making a strange noise while I was driving. The manager, Alan was extremely kind, helpful and professional. I was treated with respect and was involved throughout the entire repair process. He explained what they were doing and what was going on in terms I could understand. I usually come here for my oil changes. But this is before the new people took over. The guy at the front tried to charge me $20 to take off some corrosion on my battery. It would be less than 10 minutes of work according to him. This is after I told him I wanted the $35 change and he was annoying and try to push me for the middle one and so I said fine.. he really tries to be friendly but he is just a Salesman..be wary.

Went to get my oil changed, and they told me I needed an alignment and they showed me the print out on my tire wear, so I said to go ahead. Then they told me my water pump was leaking and because I was driving to Las Vegas the next day that I needed one. This would have made my bill $670!! I told them no and to just do the other work. After waiting for over 2 hours, I then left and had a mechanic look at my water pump and he said it had no leak and told me I did the right thing not letting them rip me off. Well I drove for 6hours to Vegas with no leak, had a great time. I will never go back to this break master again.

I knew what was needed for my car.I already had the correct replacement struts and shocks.I only needed labor.I called Alan.He certified my Monroe struts and shocks were correct replacement parts and he had them installed.Alan was professional and the car was returned to me within just a few short hours.

Front desk man who I think is named Alan is very unprofessional. Negative comments towards customers and fought on the phone with customers trying to find things on the website. Degrading to women. Made rude racial comments with customer in the lobby about “immigrants” and “illegals” driving through their front road. Answers phone in the middle of conversations without any consideration. Doesn’t really know how to use his own computer but yells at guests who can’t use the website. Watched as he made an elderly lady ashamed in the lobby for complaining of the poor communication over the phone. Very unhelpful and won’t directly acknowledge women but was very upbeat for any man who walked in. Just unusually slow service only on the part of Alan.

I paid them 500+ dollars for An improper installation of my water hose which lead to a full engine break down a month later! They literally hot glued the hose on and it corroded off! I had to go to another store to get my engine fixed and literally lost all of my savings and money that I had been been working on so hard this year to build up! Do not go here or they will wreck your car! I’m currently living out of my car and homeless because of their careless and dumb mistake!

On February 3rd 2020, I had my rear brakes on my GMC Sierra 1500 replaced here. They came with a 12 month warranty. Here we go again another company that was paid to do a job that did not do. my rear end went out they went to go replace and found out theres no brakes on the rear. Quite literally metal on metal what the brake is supposed to be on the metal was half as thick as it was supposed to be. Brake Masters #101 on Grant did not replace the brakes they just took my money.

I had one of the best experiences at an automotive shop in my life. Shane helped me with my oil change and told me about a couple other issues that I didn’t know I had. He showed me everything and explained it very professionally. I trusted him to do the work. It was timely and a fair price. First let me tell you Ive been to my share of mechanics. Its hard to find a honest mechanic anywhere. Im extremely glad that I found these guys. The staff and management are incredibly helpful and very honest. They dont pressure you to buy or do things that are unnecessary. That right there should show you how great this store is.The manager, Josh, is incredibly helpful and polite. He will advise you as if it was his car and if something doesnt need to be done right away he will tell you that without hesitation. To me, especially since I dont have car knowledge, thats very important.

My dad has been going through them for years. He introduced me to the team and theyre wonderful. They let you know exactly what is going on with your automobile and their pricing is definitely reasonable. They have saved me hundreds of dollars that I would have had to spend at other mechanic shops. Jay and Shane are very professional and friendly. What I need done for my car is always explained clearly and thoroughly. They also take you out to your car and show you what is going on and what is wrong with it so you know that you arent being suggested unnecessary services. I always feel comfortable here and I never feel like anything is being forced on me. They are trustworthy and I have come here several times and will continue to do so. I highly recommend that you come here if you are having any issues with you car or need an oil change!

Jays cool! I sat in the lounge reading magazines while they worked on my A/C belt and whatnot. Theyve got a knowledgeable crew at this location. And if youre going for just an oil change, its pretty quick.

Took my car in with no notice and right away Shane took my car back. I was extremely stressed because I had already taken it to another repair shop and they weren’t able to properly diagnose and fix the problem. Shane reassured me that he would personally see to it that I would have an answer today and that he would work with me on the price to stay within my budget. My car was repaired the same day and running better then it has ever run. Thank you Shane for taking good care of me.

Jay was fantastic with my oil change and had my car done in record time--even though I told them to take their time as I just lived down the street and would walk back when it was done. Thrilled to have a reliable oil change service just down the street and pay 2/3 what I usually do from the family mechanic. Will return for next service!
