Update: tried the online ordering multiple times. Its okay and can save a little time but you ultimately have to wait in line. Often winding up with cold food or drinks. This location often gets more people than they can handle - causing order accuracy to drop a bit and food orders to be delayed. When the line isnt wrapping around the cafe, its a wonderful place!
Fun coffee place with great pastries. Very lively in the mornings. The staff is friendly and happy and they make quality espresso drinks. The drip coffee is also really good.
Well, for starters, they charged us 3 times for a single order, BUT, dont let this opener determine your opinion. They had just experienced power outages (Tucson Thunder Storms) prior to our order. It didnt look like the charge was going through, and I only received one email, but our account showed 3 charges. We went back the next day, and the staff was EXEMPLARY in resolving the issue!!!Now then. The coffee is as good as Ive had pretty much anywhere. The pastries are equally impressive. We dealt with no less than 6 people in our 2 visits and every single employee was 5 stars worthy themselves.Amazing people.Very good productGood pricesAmazing location.Give them a shot if you can. Thanks Ren!!
I’ve been coming here off an on but today was an impressive experience. The line was out the door, yet it was moving very efficiently! It seemed like everybody’s orders were correct despite being so busy. The fine people at Ren Coffee were moving so fast and efficiently I did not get a chance to thank them for their excellent service, so hopefully they will see this review.
I was so excited to try breakfast here. Ordered the fig, pear and goat cheese bagel, my friend got the bacon egg and cheese bagel. So disappointed in both. Barely any cheese at all, four tiny slices of pear, and maybe half tbsp of fig jam. The bagel was clearly not fresh. The bacon bagel was not better. Love the outdoor seating and the coffee was good, but I dont think I will ever risk going back to try other food.
The friendly staff here obviously really care about what they are doing with friendly service and attention to detail. Excellent fresh hand made pastries and goodies every day. It smells so good in the morning when they are baking! Great way to start the day. Love their bagels too. Highly Recommend.
What’s great surprise. Nice atmosphere, great pastries and breakfast, really good coffee and friendly service. Parking is good, even some shade. Nothing not to love about this place.
BEST. AVACADO. TOAST. EVER. Delicious coffee and house-made pastries that are so scrumptious. Their food menu is modern, fresh, healthy, and downright delicious. You just cant go wrong here. Support local coffee and small business while getting your caffeine thirst quenched and enjoying a balanced local vibe at this gem of a coffee shop in Tucson.
Great cappuccino. Lovely cool atmosphere. Great place to meet!
I freaking love these people! I come here way too much because its close to.my house and their food and drinks and so tasty and not overly sweet like at certain large coffee franchises. Staff is always super friendly and personable (and they may have memorized my order). One time, Toxic came on their stereo system and I started dancing to it, and they loved it so much that Ive been christened The Dancing Queen. I freaking love these people!
Significant fly problem, no fly swatter. I asked and would have done my own dirty work, but nope.
Amazing place from Joes sweet tea to their delicious avacado toast 🥰 I also recommend the frozen white Hot chocolate! The employees are also all very nice 👍🏼
Delicious coffee drinks, creative and tasty smoothies. Baked goods are always delicious (definitely try the muffins!) Despite the heavy traffic on Campbell, the outdoor area is peaceful and pretty with several shaded tables. Right next to the Rillito, so it is a great stop after a walk or bike ride on the Loop.
One of the best local coffee shops in Tucson! This place is part of my local coffee shop rotation and never disappoints. Their coffee is always fresh and consistent. Their food is also amazing and top quality. Local and organic.. the good stuff! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Over the past year I have been going here they have gotten busier. The secret is out!
Great location, it seemed like a lot of cyclists frequent this place. I got a drip coffee, the blend was not to my taste but it was not horrible. They have plenty of healthy options for people on keto or looking for protein dense items. The menu is also very interesting. I will have to come on my next visit and give something else a try. I do recommend getting there earlier for baking goods as they were almost all done by 2PM; but it could also be because of the holiday.
Excellent coffee house which also has a number of food items and also some alcohol.
Expensive, but nice patio. They served us a smoothie with chopped up plastic, and when we went in to tell them about this, the lady poured it out in another glass in order to see it and then she proceeded to say she didn’t find anything. Why anyone would make this up is kind of silly. But the icing on the cake is when we went back to claim our free smoothie the same girl didn’t comp our smoothie, she comped the waaaay cheaper coffee item! What a cheap shot
The avocado toast was not good. The knife they give you wont cut through the bread. The avocado is not mashed and falls off of the bread. One of the worst I have had. The coffee was good as always, but the large would be a small anywhere else.
I wrote the coffeehouse directly to share this, but I didn’t receive a response. I was outside the shop on Thursday morning with my (unvaccinated, too young to mask up) toddler and tried to call in an order, as directed by the Ren website, so I wouldn’t have to take the baby into a store full of unmasked people. The store was busy (this is why I didn’t want to go in, in fact). The barista informed me they were “too busy” to take a phone order and told me to download and order through the app. I know it sounds like an easy alternative, but downloading an app, creating an account, and placing an order all while holding a squirming, running toddler near a public parking lot is no easy task. Also, the website says to call or use the app to place an order—it’s not like I was asking for special treatment. I explained my position to the barista, who was rather rude in telling me she didn’t care and that I should go elsewhere. I really do understand being busy. I wasn’t trying to skip the line. I would have taken less of her time placing a phone order than it took to have this conversation. I’m sad, because I love the food and coffee at Ren. But I don’t feel like a welcome customer after that experience and I doubt l I’ll return any time soon.
They have excellent espresso. I had one shot the other day while on a bike ride. Its also convenient that theyre located right on the #TucsonLoop trail. A cyclists dream. :-)
Love the coffee and had a great croissant!
A bit overpriced. I paid $20 for a turkey sandwich made with deli meat and an iced coffee that didnt taste that good. The sandwich was tasty, but it was more like a $9 sandwich, not $12.50
Tried the cardamom latte, was delicious!
Best coffee in Tucson no doubt in my mind. Every single time I have been to Ren the quality has been excellent, delicious flavor and well frothed! Also every single person I’ve met who works there behind the counter has been super friendly despite having to be masked-up. TY!
Lovvvve my new fav spotttttt for coffee!!!!! The quality is in the food and staff....enough said. #period
Ren is my favorite local haunt: eclectic vibe, great coffee, and polite staff. Love its proximity to the loop, so I always look forward to a stop after a long bike ride 😀
Consistently EXCELLENT. Crafted salads, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee bar and coffee for purchase. Quality fresh ingredients - and you can tell the yummy difference. Naturally spaced interior, outside tables option and efficient for call in / pick up ordering. A GEM and super staff always.
Good vibes, treated professionally, promptly and politely!**2/19/21**Open for business, treated like well I own the place.
Nice place coffee is first rate. Full of hipsters and bike riders.
Convenient location - St Phillips Farmers Market - Drinks you want and great food - the BAGELS are the best in the city! Service is always with a smile!
Love REN Coffeehouse. I probably stop here at least 2-4 times a week. More if I ride the Loop more. I now start my Loop rides from here so I get a nice post ride coffee. Good food and drinks. Cozy for reading with bike racks right out front. Excellent service and staff. If you ride bicycles or jog the Loop, its the perfect place any day of the week. If you ride a motorcycle, Sunday mornings are great with the RENegades riders group (open to all riders on all kinds of bikes) meeting at between 6:30 and 8:00 for coffee, pastries and motorcycle talk, then various rides around Tucson leaving at 8:00. All around, it gets 5 stars!
Love there coffee nice little local place
Kinda pricey for such simple drinks, I mean they have everything right in front of them, always a wait to order and waiting for your order
Good coffee but loses a star for using way too much single use plastic (no excuses for this anymore). Loses another two stars for allowing in-person dining in a state where 25 people a day are currently dying from Covid - they should do the socially responsible thing and offer take out only, not hide behind adherence to the rules.
Ren is my new favorite locally owned and run coffee shop. Amazing customer service. I would give ten Stars if I could. Shop local, shop local
Good breakfast sandwich, amazing scones and top notch lattes
Very pleasant staff. Pleased with the Mocha and sandwich.
Great place for coffee and breakfast on the back patio. After, walk through the artisan market on Sundays at st phillips plaza.
Such good coffee and theyre pretty quick!
The coffe and salad i got were tasty but after i drank all my coffee and i ate all my salad i thought about how much it was. And to be fair i spent arpund 20 on a salad and coffee that cost them around 3 bucks to make. The staff was friendly
Very nice atmosphere. Coffee not burnt tasting like 🌟 Bucks! They have paper straws which I found to be very cool. Havent tried the food yet but that will be my next adventure!
Wonderful service!
Coffee was delicious. Ill go back.
Had my husband join me for his first visit to Ren. He had an iced latte and said that the coffee was delicious. He was ready to buy a pound of coffee beans. I am a tea drinker and most places have relatively bitter black tea. The iced tea at Ren is very smooth and delicious also. Will definitely be back again soon.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, good coffee, and begals! The quality WiFi makes this coffee shop essential in impromptu productivity when the need comes up. I would recommend this gem of a coffee shop!
Fantastic coffee and great service! Never a bad experience.
Great cup of joe. My dad and I stopped by while on a Fathers day Motorcycle ride. Was hoping to see the group but alas Covid is still in control.
Nice place maybe for a coffee drink, but after today no more food or smoothies for us. The Zipline smoothie should be called a chunky. Not enjoyable at all, in fact, kinda gross to see what congealed at the bottom 3/4 of my cup. If dates dont blend well, maybe use a different ingredient! Surely not worth $8. The Daily Buzz at goodness is what their smoothie wishes they were.
Good drip
Good food and coffee but very lacking in customer service. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and added bacon and when it came out without it they simply told me I didnt pay for it so wouldnt give me a side. Easy way to lose a customer over at most $2!
Liking this place more and more. Coffee is good, food is healthy and good which is a big plus. Most salads are with fire cider as a dressing which is amazing. Pretty good for studying, need more outlets which is the case at 90% of places. Theres lots of windows but lighting feels a little off for some reason. Overall i give it a huge thumbs up.
Great indoor/outdoor location right off the Loop. Friendly service and good coffee/chai.
Nice place to stop on a bike ride
Great food and coffee.
Very nice, friendly place. Excellent hot chocolate! Very good coffee selection!A nice experience!
Ren coffee shop is one of my favorite little coffee shops in Tucson. They have great coffee and plenty of other specialty drinks. They also allow a group of super cool motorcycle enthusiasts to show up on Sunday mornings. If youre looking to scratch your caffeine itch, definitely check this place out.
Absolutely love this place! So glad there is finally a great, independent coffee cafe in St Philips Plaza. Their lattes are fantastic and I always get their avocado toast because it is so good, I also really appreciate their variety of ice tea options. Comfy, cozy local coffee house near the foothills.
Ren has a cool environment with tables big enough to actually get some work done unlike most coffee shops with no space. I also enjoyed my hot tea with local raw honey!
Lovely coffeehouse! Had coffee, of course, and ordered the vegan tamale for late breakfast/lunch. It was fantastic!!! Im not a vegan but I must say its the best Ive ever had! Am going to look around town to see if theyre available for purchase at local supermarkets. What a treat!
Rens has my favorite coffee in Tucson, highly recommend the cappuccino, but sub milk for heavy cream.P.S it is addicting
Above average coffee. Would go again.
Great selection of coffee, and they let me bring my own cup which makes me very happy. They also have kombucha on tap and great selection of products. The bagels are some of the best Ive ever had and their menu is just big enough with delicious options. The staff is always friendly and they provide great service and a lovely vibe all around.
It was alright. About the same as starbucks.
I love the Turmeric Retaliation Tea. It has fire cider in it and is very tasty. Their breakfast sandwich is very good too.
Nice local coffee shop. Pleasant staff. As a former resident of Milwaukee, was very happy and surprised - to see Colectivo coffee beans used and sold there. Great roaster. And the folks here did a great job with it.
Was very cold this morning! Latte and oatmeal cookie were fantastic. Service was delightful. Location right next to River Walk.
A great new coffee shop in the St. Philips plaza. My drink was tasty and prices were on par with what one would expect for the area. The staff was very friendly. Just nearby The Loop, so great for a post-bike ride coffee!
Sweet place with some unusual and healthy alternatives like green tea latte or golden latte (with turmeric). Cozy and mellow. Food is good, too.
Awesome way to start the day. Great people, and Oh, great people.
Great place, great food & coffee. Will try to order delivery this week.
Sweet but limited. Great place for relaxing coffee etc but be aware that they close early.
When I visited a couple weeks ago, I was disappointed to find that they could not scramble an egg for their egg bagel sandwich. I then ordered a different sandwich with a side salad, but when the food came out, the sandwich was absolutely drenched with the salad dressing. It didnt help that I didnt like the taste of the dressing either. I then reordered, the egg bagel sandwich, even though I didnt want a runny yolks (which is the only way that sandwich is served). The bagel sandwich was okay. I was told that the accident with the salad dressing never happens, and that they were very sorry. I dont know if I would visit again.
Nice atmosphere and really good food.
Nice location and friendly staff. My only gripe is that during my last visit, there was an overpowering detergent odor that literally drove me away. It ruined an otherwise pleasant visit.
All kinds of wonderful drink choices. We had a Cortado and a Nitro Iced Coffee. Both smooth and tasty. We got a Croissant and a Pumpkin Carrot muffin. Also tasty and as perfect as Ive ever had.Seating inside and out.Was a beautiful morning to be outside.
I like the fresh greens on the avocado toast. Ren makes great coffee! There are bike racks right in front of the store!
Great place to meet for coffee
This is a fantastic new coffee house. Cool, small place right next to The Loop bike path. The coffee is great. Fast wi-fi and good eats. This is the only coffee shop on The Loop. Great place!
Lots of unusual options, good service but wifi is a PITA
Bright fresh light-roast coffee from nice people who didn’t freeze up when asked about details of their product, which is unfortunately rare in the cafe world.
Usually I wait 15-20 minutes to get a BAGEL !!
The Avacado toast on a bagel with poached egg was very tasty, I recommend enjoying it on their lovely patio.
Great place, expensive food. The food is delicious, healthy, and fresh. Which, unfortunately, means expensive. Other than that, its my new favorite coffee shop.
Great place. Delicious pastries. Very warm and inviting atmosphere.
Coffee on the Loop! GOOD java, great pastries, and interesting servers. Good all-around.
Good central location and great food
Enjoyed, clean and good service.
