We did business with Granite Specialists 9 years ago and the service and craftsmanship was excellent. But, at that time, a woman with a great reputation owned the business.We recently returned to ask their opinion on moving the quartz counters we had gotten from them. When I talked to Rich on the phone, he said it couldnt be done but he supposed they could try, not guaranteeing it might break. We didnt expect them to move the countertops since that isnt their business, but we did go to talk to them about the possibility (suggestions if they know of anyone) and look at 3 counters for 2 of our 3 bathrooms.Both Rich and the woman who was working with him, I am assuming she was his wife, were somewhat arrogant and condescending. He said, with a horrified look on his face, Oh we dont do THAT!! I was shocked speechless because that isnt what he told me on the phone. WHY did he tell me on the phone they could try? I DIDNT CARE! Just tell the truth! His wife chimed in saying moving a quartz counter was IMPOSSIBLE, then pointed out why, as if she is an expert.I dont know if they thought we were paupers, because we wanted to keep the counters (we like them, why replace?) but after every product I asked about for the bathrooms, Rich looked at me as if I was nuts, saying, Well THAT is really expensive! Did I mention we are on a strict budget? No! I believe they arent interested in paltry $4,400 projects.Overall, the price for two bathrooms was acceptable, but I wasnt impressed with their customer service skills, or lack thereof.However, the BIGGEST reason I would never consider using this company (beyond their arrogance) is because when we first walked in, they werent wearing masks. I ASSUMED if they saw us wearing masks, they would excuse themselves and get masks.They didnt. Then a couple came in for an appointment and they too werent wearing masks. There is a COUNTY WIDE MASK MANDATE and these people refuse. There is ABSOLUTELY NO excuse.As for moving quartz counters being impossible, thats a lie! We found a company that REGULARLY moves them, so all they should have said was, we dont, but you may want to check around with other companies. Rich could have said that when I talked to him on the phone.
I called Granite specials to get a quote on some granite for my fireplace. They said to take a picture of my fireplace and send it to them. They text me back saying they received it and they would get back with me shortly on the quote. They never called or text me back. I guess they werent interested in my business or maybe it was not big enough. But it wouldve been nice to get response even if they cant do it.
From selecting our granite to the completed installation of a solid countertop and a countertop with an undermount sink, the entire experience was great and the counters look fantastic. Very knowledgeable folks; family-owned local business. Thanks to Angela, Rich, and their professional team!
I had two bathroom counter tops redone in granite with undermount sinks.Kira and Angela were awesome in helping me select my granite. The installation guys were pleasant and the slabs were perfect! I highly recommend them.
