While the customer service is good, sometimes the shopping experiences has its ups and downs depending on how busy the store can be a times. Which is very often, mainly because of it being a commissary, so be aware of that whenever you want to shop and explore our store. Did I also mention that I work here as well? So if you see me, Ill be the nice young man working at the meat department of the store with open arms to help you find anything you need in the store. So stop on by and enjoy yourselves.

I enjoy shopping on base. I sometimes find really good deals and theres a bit more variety of items, things you dont find in your usual civilian grocery stores. You can also get your groceries taken out to your vehicle and loaded, for a nominal tip, if you so choose. I would say the only drawback is in the fruits and vegetables. Maybe theyre importing from China, I dunno, but the quality and prices are better off base. They have a good meat department and a deli on site. Theres also an aisle with Costco size items ranging from cereals to soaps. If I could eat 24 bags of microwave popcorn in 8 months, the expiration date, Id have bought that jumbo box (I could but I shouldnt). So, if you have a valid military ID or know someone who does I recommend trying it at least once. You can also visit the tax free Exchange and Food Court nearby with, yes of course, a Starbucks. As a bonus there are also some recent and past military aircraft you can look at, walk around, and get up close to for picture taking.

I make the trip from NW Tucson to buy their meat. Great selection of pork, lamb, beef. I prefer commissary meat in quality and TASTE to brands from local supermarkets. Know your price comparisons to off-base markets before buying. The Military brands I have bought have been great! Staples like mustard and ketchup, sandwich & trash bags - all reasonable and superior quality. Some things are the same or more - and the 5% surcharge ! And then you are kind of obligated to the baggers for a tip! It adds up! I like that they carry European items which are hard to find or very expensive off base.

Its a grocery store. If thats what youre looking for than youll be happy. The employees are kind for the most part, but like anywhere theres always someone who can be difficult. Sometimes, I feel the pressure of asking the baggers to put my groceries back in my buggy instead of them taking out, but for the most part its not so bad. I usually find what Im looking for and I love the convenience of have a grocery store on base. My favorite thing are their square bags. They arent a bad price, theyre sturdy, and come in all kinds of designs throughout the year for holidays and such. Their food isnt bad either. The muffins are yummy. The sushi is basically, for the most part, fancy California rolls, still delicious. The deli subs are yummy, too. The employees over in the deli/bakery/sushi are always pleasant. People usually complain about the produce and meat section, but lets be real, it is what it is. Is it the best, no. Is it the worst, also no. But its affordable, so theres that.

I use this place when I am in a pinch for time and make it off base to a local grocery store. The produce options seems to be dwindling. Last time I was there one of the employees was yelling at the customers waiting in line while directing them what register to use. Customer service seems to have been a little lost at times. My favorite part is the deli. I have always had great service and the sandwiches are amazing.

I like shopping there for a quick stop for one or up to five items when Im in a hurry. But you really have to be a comparable shopper on some items as some items are cheaper at other stores even with the difference in taxation. My advice do your homework before you go shopping. But you can find a lot of ethnic foods there that you dont find at other name brand stores. Also the Cashiers and baggers are wonderful and very friendly. They are well worth whatever $ tip you can afford to give.

Not quite as good as your average commissary.Biggest pro is that they have a lot of self checkout registers.Biggest con is that their price tags are random. By this I mean the red and blue ones both have regular prices. When properly used, red tags represent an item that is on sale or discounted. Due to this, nothing really stands out.

Friendly staff. Clean store. Tends to be a little pricey on some items that are cheaper downtown. For me the convenient of having the commissary close by negates the priceiness. Since I work on the base, it keeps me from having to fight traffic and drive out of the way just to get an item or two.

Davis-Monthan commissary is one of the cleanest, well stocked stores I have been in on a military base. The fruits and veggies are well presented, very fresh. I love coming here for groceries because the staff is friendly and the selection is great. They also carry a lot of vegetarian and non-dairy food options that I seek out. The only complaint is that they can be a little touchy if you want to carry out your own groceries. Our car is small so it makes sense that we do it ourselves in order to get everything in there; however, I have been grouched at by a bagger for this reason. Other than that, its usually a great place to shop.

The commissary is a benefit that should be used as often as you can. Cheaper prices for the retired as well as current serving military are benefits that are essential to keeping it. If you dont use it, they will take it away. I find items there that I cant find anywhere else. Items I grew up with back East. Some items from some of the places Ive been that I especially enjoyed. Pleasent people, clean, well stocked. Couldnt ask for anything more than that. Love the commissary.

The commissary at Davis-Monthan is wonderful! I go once a month to help my gram do her food shopping. They always have the best selection of products. They also have a great aisle for close out and discounted products. They’re competitive as far as pricing goes, and I heard from my gram that they’re formatting everything so that no matter which one you go to, they’ll all be laid out the same to make it easier to find things! Lastly, the staff are always so nice and more than willing to help find things. Love the commissary!
