Service was good....I normally visit the one on Pima but due to an auto accident obstructing traffic - I brought my Blue Rhino refill here....was surprised to find the cost to refill was $23.90 (Other Ace on Pima $17.99). This is a 33% increase or $5.91.Learned Aces are franchised and owners set their own pricing - needless to say - get your propane refill elsewhere!

The second I walked in a short middle age man asked me what I was looking for and hes the one who produced my extra keys with a machine. His attitude wasnt that good and wasnt polite so I go to the one on Campbell again when I lived in that area. Theyre better staff and friendlier.

At first I wanted to give this place 5 stars. But the customer service and manager could care less. Understandable, but dont give me a fake number to the owner

As soon as you enter this store a staff member presents themselves to assist you. The staff is knowledgeable, especially Heinz. This Ace relocated from a larger building into their current location forcing them to cut down on the variety of products that they stock. However, you will find it’s well stocked, including Craftsman tools.

Terrible wrong prices, took 3 people to even want to make it right, by giving a refund for difference, and I had to talk them into that, These practices are criminal and should not be tolerated Ever, if i was stealing you see what the difference is ... people make wise choices 5here are alot of businesses that will welcome the patrons and tr ewwww at them like 1 ....

Absolutely the worst service I have experienced in my life. I arrived near closing time and needed locks rekeyed. I had questions and opened one of the packages to check their work and product. At 5 minutes after closing I was shouted at they were closed and they turned all the lights off. It was so dark I could not repackage the items I was purchasing and I was not satisfied that what they had done was correct. In all retail stores you complete servicing that customer if they are in the middle of a purchase. I am a landlord and I use several Aces in Tucson. I use to use this store extensively until their financial problems and limited stock and now this horrible service. THEY WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN. I give it one star as that is the only way this site will post your comment. In trueth they get negative stars

Regular ace shop, average size, nice to have one around. I went to get key copies, i was in and out in a couple of minutes.

Last Ace in Tucson that sells nails and screws by the pound. I drive 20 miles to stock up.

Cashier was rude and and seemed a little prejudice, soon as I opened the door you could feel it, they way she just stared at you, tried to be polite and say hi, all I got was a scowl same as I checked out, the old man was helpful but a little inpatient as well.

Love this Ace. Super helpful staff! Went to get a compression adapter today, apparently the plumber who installed the hot supply valve under my kitchen sink in a 50s ranch that was renovated in the 80s had some valves and supply lines that are between a standard 3/8 and 1/2 inch. They did not have anything to fit, the compromise was a new valve which they had and were happy to sell me. Thanks Ace, you really are the helpful place!

I called the store looking for a miter box I saw on the website. They told me they had it in stock. So I made the drive over and guess what? They did NOT have it. This is third time that I have gone to this store and had a bad experience so it is time to share it. As a small business owner, I have always tried to support Tucsons local businesses, but Ace, you have lost my business now.

I generally like most Ace hardware stores, but have really mixed feelings about this location. My old home location had a far nicer staff and better selection. Good place if you only need tape, or a few common fasteners you can find yourself... They do have an adorable/friendly cat that lives in the store who has a better demeanor than most of the employees, but only knows where the string is located.

I love ace hardware. The staff here is always helpful, and highly knowledgeable about their inventory, and just about any home project you can imagine.

The three stars are for the fact that they actually try and help you when you walk in . The missing two stars are for the fact that you usually know more than they do.

This location is a smaller Ace but they always are able to find what I need. Also, their price tend to be lower than the chain stores. They stand behind their products and are helpful in answering questions. They also tend to have enough staff to help even on a busy Saturday.

Very helpful, they dont make you ask for help. Non judgemental staff and the young man there will help you figure out what you need if youre not sure. Thank you.

Ive been going to this Ace hardware way back when it was Choates hardware. There is parking right outside the door and when you go in there is almost an employee there to greet you. Its a small store but has a great inventory. The employees are very knowledgeable of their inventory. If they don t have it they will try to direct you to someone that does. I highly recommend this store on Brodway near Swan.

Ive going here for years way back when it was Choates Hardware. The employees are very helpful from the time you enter the store. If an employee cant help with an answer they will get someone that can. Nice selection of goods housed in a smaller square footage than their last store but easy to shop in.

I generally avoid this place. There is only ever one register running. If there is any diversion from the norm, it becomes a five minute ordeal. There may be other registers available, but I have never seen them open. Its easier to drive three minutes down the road for a larger selection and faster checkout. That may be different for someone who doesnt know what they want or needs help on a project. Im rarely that person.

Als Ace hardware has a top-notch staff that is very well informed. They carry all those little pieces that you need to keep your home in top-notch condition.

While most of the guys who work at this Ace Hardware are FANTASTIC and EXTREMELY HELPFUL (Richard, Bobby, Heinz), the OWNER of this store is CONDESCENDING TO WOMEN who shop there. As a single woman, I shopped there for years and paid a little more because I could always get good advice from Richard, Bobby and Heinz, but the owner always talked down to me, and I successfully avoided him on my at least weekly trips for years, until one day, he and his immediate family members were the only ones there, and then I got treated by him so badly that I wont go back. Im not a fan of Home Depot (never can find anyone, and even if you do, they dont know anything) but will go there anyway because at least I dont get talked down to because Im female. Too bad, because Id much rather support a smaller locally owned business. Ill miss the rest of the guys, but not the owner. I work for a large general contractor who buys last minute supplies there too, and will be sure to tell them to take their business elsewhere too.

Every time I walk in there is at least one, and often two people just waiting to help me. When you tell them what you need they will walk you back to where it is and even pull it off the shelf and put it in your hands. The only way they could be more helpful is if they drove it over to my house for me.

Store associates were rude

I was happy to see Gerry Brooks one-star rating and statements about being treated condescendingly in this store. This location has always been our go-to Ace, even though its a little bit further than the closest one. Yesterday I couldnt believe the treatment I got from a male cashier. He insinuated I was lying, would not listen to reason, and basically treated me (a senior woman) like dirt. Id bought some items online, picked them up there (as always), and there was a small problem. He told me I bought them online, so Id have to deal with it online! I tried to show him the receipt, which showed that store for pickup, as well as containing much language about going to an Ace store if there was an issue, preferably the same one where it was picked up. But he was having none of it; refused to look at the receipt. I was telling him how this bulb string (for warming my young citrus tree) arrived with one dead bulb, which my husband brought in (the string still boxed), and was given a replacement bulb, which we tested to know it worked. Now that wed hung it on the little tree, however, as soon as the bulbs warmed up, we could see the replacement was a blinking bulb, which would not serve our purpose (warmth for the tree). He said that didnt happen in THAT store (translation: youre lying), although I insisted it did. They dont have those bulbs, he lied. I was very upset and left, telling him I would not be doing the other shopping Id planned to do there. Once outside, I decided to go back in and get his name to file a formal complaint. Another man, this one with a permanent smile and very, very nice (a manager tag on his shirt), looked up my order, took me to the bulbs and strings aisle, and pointed out how theyd sold out of the non-blinking bulbs. His excellent customer service calmed me immediately and I no longer cared so much about the bulb. I wondered, though, how a manager could let an employee - a cashier - treat customers so badly. After reading the post about employees attitudes vs the owners, Im convinced that horrible, horrible man must have been the owner. So, after 22 years of patronizing this Ace location, I will never go there to buy anything again, and I strongly advise women, or anyone who cares about women, to NEVER patronize this location with the apparently misogynistic owner. Terrible, terrible experience to inflict upon a once-loyal customer. Over an approximately 75-cent bulb, no less!
