Always a good time at Hotrod, I like how out of the way yet very visible from Houghton this location is. Ample parking and many events kick off here. We recently attended the Hells Angles annual event and was not disappointed (live band & bikes 😀)

First time coming to this restaurant and I really enjoyed myself. Service was great, and the food was delicious with an excellent menu.The environment itself is quite large and spacious. They have two dining areas one is separate from the bar if youre looking for more of a quiet experience but overall this place was extremely low key and in my opinion underrated. This building should be packed everyday with how the service and experience was and yet its pretty quiet here which is a bonus to all of the locals.They had very clean restrooms and they also have a couple of pinball machines, Pac-Man, two pool tables located outside in a nice covered area with plenty of shade and breeze. It looks like they also have cornhole games available to play as well. They also have windows across the entire venue overlooking a restoration shop where you can see the guys work on cars!!I would highly recommend at least coming here once and I will definitely come back again.

Our food was very good, just the prices of some of the things on the menu is outrageous... $22 for a burger.. ouch

It used to be better. Hardly ever see anyone in the auto shop. Kraut on the Monte Cristo sandwich tasted canned and tasted like it had been out too long. Marbled rye was dry. Pastrami was good. Nice waitress. Good service.

Im surprised this place doesnt have a great rating.. I ordered fried chicken (chicken strips) and it was delicious . It tasted like they batter the chicken themselves. The breading was so crispy and tasty. French fries were really good too. Waitress was sweet and friendly. Great place to take the family.

Went to Hotrods on Saturday despite mixed reviews and experiences over the years. Happy to say it was AWESOME! Wings are smoked and then fried in Bacon Fat! I had the Mac N Cheese burger between 2 hunks of deep fried mac n cheese instead of a bun then covered in cheese....let that sink in. Wife had pulled pork sandwich which was great and friends had the Portabello Burger and French Dip. All were excellent! Service a bit slow but worth it!Atmosphere really interesting as they are restoring cars on site. Have a bar and pool tables on patio

We had a great meal. They had a staffing shortage but you couldnt tell. One guy was the bartender, server, buser and host. He did an amazing job too. So friendly and fast. Highly impressed with how well he handled the 2 larger parties our event brought in at once. Kudos! We will be back next year!

Had the french dip and the jalapeno Mac and cheese. Better than I was hoping for. Went after work hours, so no work going on in the shop, but looks to be a well organized shop.

The family and I stopped in on a whim. It was probably one of the best restaurant stops we have made in a while.The atmosphere was really neat. It is awesome that you get to look down at the garage! We went on a Sunday afternoon so no one was there working in the garage.I got the Italian meat and cheese sandwich with fries. It was great. My wife got the Roma shrimp pasta dish and loved it. My youngest daughter got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries and she actually ate the whole sandwich (she normally doesnt...). The eldest got the 2 hot dogs with fries. They were the big hot dogs and not the little ones.The bread they use is out of this world good!Overall I definitely give this place high reviews. Our server was Kristi and we loved her.

So I decided to give Hot Rods a new chance. It had been years since I went. Both previous times were not great experiences. The first was bad bartender, never asked if we wanted more drinks. Second was no service after sitting at a table for 30 minutes, I dont know why we stayed that long. Now several years later I see people talking about it being under new management. We were seated immediately, waited on promptly. The only downside was we kind of got forgotten for a bit, social distancing and what not. There were four parties including ours, one of six, one of two, our two, and one of one. We had to go up to the bar to get more drinks two times. After that though it greatly improved. We had: Fried pickles spears, flaky and crisp. Pulled Chicken, lots of chicken with crispy onions and a sweet BBQ sauce, seems to have been missing the slaw. Green chile mac and cheese burger, cooked mid-well (asked for medium) over all the mac and cheese buns with the cheese sauce were good combinations. The American cheese didnt fit on the burger, maybe a different cheese choice. Overall service improved after ordering food. Well attended to and made up for the earlier lack of attention.

The food and service were great. BEST chicken I ever had. The server was awesome and we had fun looking at all the cool displays.Its too bad its off the beaten path because I dont think many people know its there but Im glad we came across it. Will definetly return !

We enjoyed our visit here. Our servers name was Weston/ Westin (sorry not sure on the exact spelling of his name). He provided us with excellent service. He was friendly, and professional. We also really like the atmosphere. It was clean & quiet enough to have conversation on our date night. The food was great. I especially appreciate that our server, Weston knew the menu well enough to recommend some gluten- friendly options. We will eat here again.

My family and I went here twice and we were greeted when we went in by a very friendly gal. The waitress was very attentive and the food came out quick. The burgers are the best. You know you get good service when you get a refill and dont have to ask for one. The gentlemen. Who served us with our food asked us how it was. My husband enjoys the fact that its not so crowded as the other restaurants in the area.I Plan on going back many times in the future.

Had dinner here Wednesday night. Very cool place! The chicken wings were awesome. Smoked, then deep fried, total yum! Also tried their Mac n cheese cheeseburger, how unique.Also very good along with the sweet potato puffs. Awesome to be able to watch restoration of cars and other vehicles.Highly recommend 👌

The location and the theme is cool. Our waiter was super awesome and she was on point. The food is way over priced and not worth the taste. I asked for medium well and I got over cooked. And not to mention we had to pay extra for well done, who charges $2 for medium well. 2 burgers, onion rings, 10 wings 4 soft drinks and a kids meal. $70 plus for it. Way not worth it. McDonalds taste better then this place and that’s not saying much. Gourmet burger my a**. Like I said the only cool thing about this place is the theme. But other then that the food is not worth it at all.

If you are into cars, great atmosphere for a meal otherwise come for the awesome food. We went with a group and we were all surprised how huge the portions were, even the kids pizza was big enough to split among kids! Everything was delicious, definitely going to go back when we are back in town.

Ok, I’ll have to admit, I came here a few times before a year or so ago, and, well, it sucked. Food was frozen, microwaved, tasteless, poor service...I just quit going. However, after seeing so many social media posts over the last few weeks, I decided to give it one more try.Wow!! Glad I did!! Totally revamped menu, food that looked prepared, hot, and tasty, ice cold beer, and service that actually seemed to care if I needed anything. Pinball machines!!!! Total turn-around. I’ll definitely be going back. Actually, if you haven’t been in the last year or so, try it again. If you’ve never been, you should try it, regardless of what you’ve heard!!! Great job y’all!!!

Good food. I had the smoked chicken wings and a side of their mac and cheese. Both were great. The wing size is more small to medium, but they still satisfied me. The customer service was awesome as well. I will definitely be back.

New menu, great service. The spinach dip was really good. Had the mushroom Swiss burger and onion rings... daughter had the kid chicken strips...they have salads, chicken Alfredo, cheese steak, French dip...shakes, 🥧, and they have a bar.

Best little find ever! The food was great, the atmosphere even better and our waitress was one of the best weve ever had anywhere! My picky kids at everything they ordered, that NEVER happens. The fries are some of the best Ive ever tasted. My shrimp pasta dish was absolute perfection. I cant wait to go back!

What a turn around this place has done! Great service, good food. Went on a Sunday just after they opened for the day. I appreciate when I ordered a burger with a gluten free bun the waiter and staff took additional food off of what I ordered knowing it had gluten in it (I was unaware!). It took some time to get the food to us (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), but all the food was delicious. Will go again!

If you haven’t been here recently, I’d try it again because I’ve been here a handful of times over the span of 7 years and noticed the improvement now. The french dip and reuben are delicious! Same goes for the sweet potato puffs.

Cool theme, good food! It was interesting to eat and see inside the shop they work on the hot rods. All the sauces were excellent- even the ketchup lol. Waiter was very friendly and good service. We will be back!

Waited 10 min for a host. Did get gestures that someone would be there .Finally ended going to the bar and asking if they were seating anyone. Was told that they would be right there, that they were short staffed.Us and 3 other parties that were waiting just left after another 10 minutes.No clue about the food.... never made it past the non existing host

Nice place for big families and kids. lots of stuff to look at in the restaurant is very clean. Two stories. Connected to a working garage who fixes a pot rods so pretty fun for the kids to look inside. I think kids menu is fair and good value. We enjoyed the Reuben and the Philly cheesesteak.

Great bar food and cheap beer first time here had a great time fabulous decor and our waitress Marrisa was amazing catered to our every need and request no matter how random i will definitely be returning often and letting my family and friends know to join me at this great place

Sitting here now and loving the atmosphere. The French fries I stole from hubby were prefectly cooked and flavored. I havent had bacon cooked so well in ages and his buffet was just the right amount of juicy! My grilled chicken is yummy. My palate wanted a bit more flavor to the alfredo sauce and the super friendly staff happily made an effort to spice it up for me. We will be coming here a lot more often now that we discovered it. Very good food and service. I had the philly cheese steak and my wife had the french dip. They offered a in house creamy horseradish sauce that was wonderful on both sandwiches. My wife got sweet potato puffs that were excellent. Will need to visit again to try other meals.

The Bartender Cody was amazing, food not so much. They had the game on, no sound. We did ask for close caption but the owned refused because it was to hard, and she said other people didnt like it. The funny thing was that they only had a handful of people in the entire restaurant. This includes both main dining room and bar. My advice, cater to your customers, if someone was to complain thats one thing, but at least try. We most likely wont be back again.

It was ok. Food was good but not outstanding. All of the cars and garage tools was really cool though. Unfortunately, there was no work being done on the vehicles but it was on a Saturday.

My wife and I had dinner here and we highly recommend it. The food was excellent and the service even better. The staff were also doing an excellent job of following all of the health regulations related to the safety of their customers and staff. We will be eating there again soon.

The medium burger was burned and my wifes chicken sandwich, the batter tasted like a salt like and so did the batter on the fried pickles, it was sad because it is such a nice place!

We went in with 24 teenagers. They worked very fast to accommodate such a large party. Prices werent bad for the quality and quantity of food. Burger was delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside. Tender and juicy on the inside. Decor was really neat. Staff were very polite.

This place has had some troubles before, but my oh my, it was awesome. They had a menu change since I went a few years ago, but the fundamentals are still there, the portions are pretty darn big and the food is AMAZING. It is a teeny tiny bit dry, but definitely way better than any fast food you can get by a big margin and definitely worth the money, not to mention if youre a car person, they have views into the garage from your table where you can admire old vehicles that grandad likes to work on. Only four stars because of the menu change removed a few of my favorite items, but youre SPOILED with the portions. Pretty empty on a Friday night tragically, but please, if you even ever think of going, DO GO. Hot Rods deserves more credit than they get these days, and it makes for a great date night!And the young man who served us, JJ I think his name was, earned every cent of his tip. Was on top of soda refills, checking on us, was very cheery and well mannered, if I was a richer man Id pay him two or three times more (sadly I cant)! Excellent experience overall.

My son has always loved it here so we stopped in for dinner. The server was so nice today and he never let our glasses go empty. I ordered the green chili Mac n cheese burger and it is now my all time favorite burger. Keep up the great work Hot Rods! We will be back soon.
