We always eat at local places when we’re traveling, and this place looked highly recommended. They offered delivery (which they don’t charge for!) so we decided to place an order. We got a couple of Route 66 burgers, one of them with a salad and the other with tater tots. Burgers were very good. They forgot to give us cutlery, but other than that, the experience was great! Would eat here again when coming through town.
This is the BEST pizza place in town and the best restaurant. They use high quality ingredients and serve every Pizza hot and fresh from the oven. Your child can learn how to throw their own dough which is awesome! They have a large variety of delicious pizzas that will make your taste buds dance. My personal favorite being the jalapeno popper. I dont mean generic jalapeno popper Pizza (like certain other chains who use the disgusting pickled jalapenos) I mean actual jalapenos filled with cream cheese and chunks of yummy bacon! 😋 They also have a variety of high quality delicious ice creams IF you have room for dessert, I usually dont after gorging on delicious fresh pizza! My experience with customer service here has also been fantastic. Every time I visit tucumcari this is my favorite restaurant.

First time eating here Im very very picky when it comes to my burgers but this restaurant has really good burgers they even listened when I said well done the presentation was also really good my only gripe is they didnt really give that many fries with the burger for the price but other than that it was tasty just wish they would give more fries. But Ill definitely eat here again! Taste like home cooked. Ill definitely try the pizza next time.
Fantastic pasta!My wife and I went out to dinner at this fantastic little restaurant. Located right on the heart of route 66 in Tucumcari, we had a very pleasant evening being served by some very kind employees. Our server was quick to refill our drinks, and tended to our every need.My wife enjoyed her marinara pasta. I loved the green chili alfredo! The dishes were both aesthetically pleasing and a celebration of flavor to the taste buds.Very reasonably priced, it was kind to my pocketbook and I was able to tip higher as a result of it. Its very wonderful to run into a restaurant that realizes its going to have more customers pleased to tip when the employees do well at their job and the meals do not gouge the pocketbook.My compliments to the chef and the entire crew that prepare the meals in cornerstone first edition Pizza and subs! Thanks also to the manager that runs such a fine establishment at a time when so many others in this country are making excuses not to work. Your establishment is a breath of fresh air and a shining beacon to be followed as an example.
Food - 5 stars. Service from our server -5 stars. The wait time is ridiculous. There was plenty of staff to handle the dining room, call ins, cooking etc. We counted at least 6 staff. I constantly overheard excuses for the wait times being “sorry we have a lot of call in orders”. In what business do you tell a customer to their face (or train your teenage staff to say) you are less important than these other customers? Also who wants to hear a manager shout across a restaurant to the servers to check on tables and other commands? Likewise our server said she had to clock out before getting out to-go desert. That’s cool, but don’t make the girl count out her bag until she has finished with all her customers. Per a previous review, this place is still on the struggle bus. It has good food, good & friendly staff, but lacks leadership to directly effectively and efficiently. And we all live under a government mismanaging everything - that excuse is so 2020. Improvise, adapt and overcome.
Stopped in tucumcari yesterday on our cross country trip. Got pizza and it was the best. Great food great service. This is the first time I have ever posted a review. Keep up the good work.
Even though we couldnt sit down and dine in, we had a wonderful conversation with the people there while we waited for our food to be made. We could see that the cook was hustling and doing a thorough job at his artistry. The restaurant itself is pristine and beautiful! Super duper clean!! The food was second to none! I came back to my hotel room and my husband and I were ooooweeen and awwwwwweee at how delicious it all was! The service, although limited in this pandemic was outstanding!! The food was exceptionally prepared!! My hats off to everyone there 🎩 job well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Definitely stop by and get something to eat here, even if youre just driving through 😁
This is a fun place! We stopped in for a quick bite of ice cream. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and my husband got 2 scoops of ice cream. Portion sizes are massive. We definitely should have shared! Definitely a local and tourist favorite.
Got a motel and asked local who has the best pizza & delivers? I called cornerstone and spoke to a lovely gal on the phone who took her time with me as I did not have menu to look at.I asked her, what was their best pizza. She said the green chili pizza. (now I am a meat pizza guy, the more meat the better, right?) But I could have gotten that at the chain place across the street - I wanted the local flavor, the best they have. So green chili it was. Then I said, how about an appetizer? (now I cant eat the pizza I just ordered, but when will i be back this way again, right?) She said the chips and salsa were really good. So Im like, Great, let me try them!The pizza came quick and hot. The gal who brought the pizza was cheerful and friendly. Normally when ordering from a motel, I remember to tell them to send along a paper plate, fork, etc - but this time I forgot. No worries she had all that with her and more!Now the food.The pizza was very good. Not too spicy, Id say it was perfect.The salsa was unique and excellent as well.The chips were tasty and hot, but alas, I ordered more than I could eat. So not wanting the salsa to go to waste, I used it as dipping sauce for my crust (which was very good and cooked to perfect).Very friendly staff!Very good pizza - that is also unique and tasty!Hot - properly seasoned and served with everything I needed - and most importantly - a big smile!Thanks for the great experience - you knocked it out of the park!
Great pizza and employees are nice to help you pick the right pizza for your tummy. Didnt think this place would be as good as it is, but when I took my first bite 🤯.I had the green Chile pizza and it was amazing!!Next round trip through NM, Ill still by for another pie of good pizza. Wish there was one in PHX, AZ.
What an amazing experience! We loved the service (thanks Meressa!) and the food was the best we’ve had on our 2000 mile (so far) trip. My very picky 4 and 5 year old devoured their pepperoni pizzas and then started in on my delicious spaghetti. Such an awesome place!
Good food cooked to order so it is not fast food it is a restaurant not McDonalds but two ladies working work hard kept living never saw them just standing there looking bored the food was great they were absolutely sweet and it was part of our trip on route 66. We were able to sit relax cool off have fun see a signature on every single small piece of wood on the wall from everybody from everywhere. Dubai. Korea Russia and every country in the world I think... Really cool thing to see summer route 66 holding on a few of the hotels and just a lot a really cool stuff. Was a fun day trip for us there are some are the parks some places even have free parking for just a single overnight stay if you have an RV. We drove down from the caprock and ended up there just a random Sunday Drive. Not too far from Santa Rosa and some really cool bits and pieces of route 66.
Loved the food! Avocado fries were crispy with a week seasoned breading. The chicken enchilada pizza was a new one for us with a crust that wasnt thick or thin, but just right. And highly recommend topping it off with the sopasundae! And dont forget to ask for a marker to sign your name on a brick! Thoroughly enjoyed!
Cornerstone has never disappointed us, until tonight. We arrived at approximately 8:30 pm. Literally 5 minutes after we got our food, Miss Manager Theresa B brought our ticket to the table. Never asked for refills and when I walked upfront to get our refills, she was taking apart the machine. Being a server and manager at a restaurant, time management between the meal and the check is one of the most important things. Well most likely be back but this isnt the first bad experience weve had with her.
Service was poor. Server took our order and brought our drinks. It took about 40 minutes to get our food. Our waitress never came back to check on us. We had to wave her down for a drink refill. She only did that one and did not ask the rest of the party. So we just didnt bother. We got our food and she did not ever come back to our table.
Its just a short walk from the Blue Swallow hotel. We had great food and the absolute best service.

When you order “Mac and cheese” it’s not pasta, it’s fried macaroni - I wish the waiter had told me that since it does not specify on menu and my kid ate fried tots lol.
Stopped in for a bite to eat at this little sub and pizza place while traveling East on I 40 through Tucumcari on a rainy Sat night. Dakota was our waitress, she was super sweet and very nice. Ordered the Rattler burger and some tots and my mom had the rueben and she said it was delicious and she’s picky about her reuben’s. Recommended!
Staying overnight in Tucumcari last night. Got a tip to try this locally owned restaurant.So glad we did!! We ordered the 12” Greek pizza and it was delicious! So fresh and hot! We loved all the ingredients!It will be a must stop anytime we are passing through Tucumcari!!
This place has the most amazing burgers in town. Everytime I order a cornerstone deluxe with a side of onion rings and a strawberry milkshake I just want to get on my knees and cry and bask in the glory of this amazing burger.
This place was on the struggle bus when we were there. The staff seemed to be completely overwhelmed and the entire dining experience took two hours. The food was alright, sure beats going to a McDonalds.

We really enjoyed this restaurant! They have a really unique menu of things like jalapeño popper pizza and enchilada pizza. They also have burgers and ice cream. Everyone in our party was really pleased with their orders. It is also open later than most places in Tucumcari.
Nope. I enjoy the food but the staff and service was not like it has been before. Tried calling in a pizza order, was placed on hold them hung up on multiple times after trying to get through. Then no answer.
I loved it! I always do everything is so delicious! And with me being pregnant its so hard to choose from just one thing I honestly sometimes have to get a couple orders just to be satisfied because everything is so perfect not to mention the awesome people who work there! Always very friendly and polite always with a smile I absolutely recommend this I must stop with your family and friends heck even a must stop by yourself!

Delight of a deli. Quick and friendly service. Lots of variety of food, including sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, ice cream and more. We had the Italian on ciabatta bread and a Green Chili Melt. Both were hearty and flavorful. The onion rings were hand battered and delicious. The sweet potato fries had a delicate crispiness. There is a large variety of hand scooped ice cream with traditional ice cream treats. I ordered a Fogata, but unfortunately they didnt have any espresso for it. They also have a tongue-tasing, chili-pepper pizza challenge. Its so hot, that it makes everyone very when its being prepared. Decor isnt new but retro. This place is in the main strip of town and popular with the locals. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fast, but fresh food with a twist of the traditional.

Wife and I overnighted in Tucumcari on our way to Phoenix. As vegetarians finding good meals in smaller towns can be a challenge, but we called Cornerstone and had them put together a Veggie pizza. It was outstanding! Crust was delicious, veggies fresh and it was delivered to the Road Runner Lodge piping hot and with a smile. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

This place has an incredible, old-timey pizzaria feel. The decor and ambiance is decidedly old-school without the rundown feeling you get from a lot of holdover food joints.The staff was clearly having a very busy night, so the food didnt arrive lightning fast. However, the staff were very polite and patient. Everyone was a delight to talk and interact with.The food was just about perfect. We ordered two pizzas, the mufalleta and a hawaiian pizza, with fried pickles and fried avocados as appetizers. Everything was very good. The mufalleta was very strongly flavored, which some of the younger members of my family didnt much care for, but I appreciated the Mediterranean flavor. We also ordered some of their ice cream to go, which was also very good.Were just passing through, so theres a good chance well never get back here again, but I would highly recommend this place. Its worth it to get away from chain restaurants and try something local with a lot of flavor and character.

Absolutely fantastic. Ordered delivery. It arrived in less then 20 minutes, and the pizza was TO HOT TO EAT when we broke open the box. Would leave 6 stars if I could.
Excellent pizza and very fresh salad. Staff is extremely courteous and delivery was prompt. Best part was they delivered to local KOA right to our RV. I’d drive back here just to eat their pizza - yummy!!! Highly recommend - you won’t be disappointed!

Great locally-owned and operated establishment! Good food, usually good to great service. The recipes are sometimes a bit unconventional, which I find to be fun and refreshing! I do wish they would use more green, leafy lettuce in their salads, rather than iceberg (I hate paying for iceberg lettuce, given that its only nutritional value is water and a little fiber!) and what is now classified at romaine. Otherwise, great place! Good desserts, too . . . I hear. :-)

They show a nice Big Meat-Fulled Sub Sandwich,, what you get is something totally different from the Kiddie Menu,, Friggin sad for a Pizza - Sub Shop..But they cater to driving threw Tourist,, so they have no worries about small portion sizes,, very sad indeed..

The BEST pizza we’ve had in a very long time. The delivery man was so nice and courteous. They delivered to our Hotel room, even though it was close to closing time. We were tired and worn out from a long day of traveling, so we were appreciative. Will definitely order again on the way back home!
Ive been here twice in 24hrs! We both got the ice cream one night. (Im not sure who makes the ice cream, but theyre great at it!) The next day we went for lunch. The place was packed and smelled delicious. I got the Southwest salad with grilled chicken and my bf got the spaghetti and 2 meatballs. Everything was very good! My salad had plenty of chicken and his meatballs were larger than a golf ball. Our server was so sweet and attentive. In fact, everyone there is really friendly and nice.*You have got to eat here!*Oh, and they have CONTEST Pizza! Only 2 people have finished it. There are 3 different types of Peppers on it... Its Blazing!

Highly recommended! They delivered to our motel which was awesome! Great wings, subs and the wedge salad was better than I’ve had at a steakhouse. Great prices and fast delivery. Wish I would have taken a pic of the salad but I couldn’t wait. Don’t hesitate to try this place if you happen to be traveling through.
