This review is for Dana the Yurt Girl. I reached out to Dana in hopes of getting help with a floor plan for my yurt that will be built this Fall. I have very little faith in contacting companies and actually receiving a response this day and age, but oh my god was I blown away! Dana not only responded, but we also personally spoke on the phone twice and emailed back and forth with prompt responses. She was absolutely amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable of her field and gave me exactly what I wanted for my yurt design. I cannot recommend her, or Rainier Yurts enough. Truly top notch.

We ordered a glamping cottage from Rainier Outdoors late this spring and within a few weeks it was delivered. The plans provided for platform construction were just what we needed to prepare the deck for tent cottage assembly. The engineering and design is thoughtful, and the parts supplied are of the highest quality. The entire team at Rainier was responsive when we had questions about some of the more complicated aspects of cottage assembly. We are relatively handy and skilled at basic construction and were able to do 100% of the platform, cottage assembly, deck and stair building as a family DIY project. The finished structure is simply delightful and amazing. SO HAPPY to have found Rainier Industries and feel confident that we are enjoying one of the finest glamping cottages or custom yurts available anywhere. My wife and I purchased this Eagle yurt (ger in Mongolian) in 2009, and lived in it for an entire year, while our house was undergoing a major renovation. It was an unforgettable experience. The yurt is made of beautiful Douglas fir, durable weather proof material and with very good workmanship. Over the years it stood up to numerous Noreasters with 80 mph wind gust, subzero temperature, and occasional black bear visit. The sight of the yurt sitting majestically in the field behind the house always brings a smile to my face, and the endless Mongolian Steppe where I was born a little closer...

We purchased a yurt from Rainier back in 2006 and it was time to replace the roof, side walls, and dome. Dana was awesome in helping us navigate the process, which included changes to the window dimensions and design and fabrication of custom privacy covers for the picture windows. She also provided contact info for a crew to assist with the installation of the replacement parts. I cant say enough good things about Dana, Russell, and the rest of the team at Rainier.

We have to Eagle yurts. One was installed last June and went into service in September we had a hurricane in October it went through without any damage. This year we installed another Eagle yurt this time 15 feet up in a tree as a treehouse yurt. Weve just went through another hurricane. Both Yurts survived with zero damage. It appears the round structure does very well and heavy winds, give credit to the Mongols

We wanted a new yurt and the user friendly website attracted me to Rainier. A phone talk with Dana sealed the deal. She answered all my questions as they came to me. Totally right there for me. The crate arrived and we had fun unloading all the beautiful pieces. One can sense the whole team at Rainier creating these amazing structures.The quality of all the pieces was great to behold: Beautiful NW Douglas Fir; High Tech inner and outer fabrics and insulation; dome that looks like an alien space ship; great windows and door. Our contractor built the platform and turned to the manual for assembly of the pieces. He loved the photos and text and talked with Dana a time or two. And now we have a yurt that takes the breath away of all who enter. Many say, I want one. Google Rainier Yurts. Easy

Wish I could give them no stars!I purchased a large, expensive shade for the side of my house facing the water. It looks good and when it works (which is almost never) I really like it.It is now almost two years after the shade was installed. During that time it has worked less than 4 months total! The installer has been out to my house over a dozen times to fix the shade. Rainier keeps asking us to do things like leave the shade down for extended periods in the sun, put more weight in the bottom, etc. We have done everything asked of us and babied this shade like no other product in our house. Yet the shade is still broken as are the repeated promises by Rainier to fix the shade.The company will not return phone calls or e-mails from me and they have repeatedly failed to live up to the things they promised to do to fix the shade. Jason Brower is one of the contacts at Rainier that has failed to respond after making repeated promised to fix the shade. At this point it appears we are headed for the courts. At least there this will be as painful for them as it is for me.

We just purchased a beautiful 16 Rainier Yurt from Rainier Industries. Being yurt dummies, both their website and blog proved to be very helpful in getting us started. Their customer service rep, Dana always responded promptly from our first call and email to our last, and was very informative. She went above and beyond to help us figure out what extras we needed to order for our yurt kit given our weather and geographic area. Early in the process, we received emails with photos of the yurt, the crate, the SIPS, pdfs of the assembly instructions, etc., which helped us to visualize the whole project. We had a specific due date when we needed to receive the yurt and SIPS, and were pleasantly surprised when it was ready for shipment a day ahead of ship date, even though it was their busy season. The yurt components were carefully wrapped and crated, and everything arrived in perfect condition. They also referred us to a man named David who specializes in building yurts, whom we hired for a very reasonable price. And we were so happy we did!!!! He knew the building/assembly process by heart, was really skilled, organized and fast, and did an incredible job of putting three of us to work alongside of him. The yurt was up in 2 days and at a labor cost that was considerably less than we would have otherwise incurred. The quality of the yurt is really good. We definitely recommend them to anyone interested in a yurt!

I manage an event rental company; a big part of what we do is set-up large tents for parties, festivals, shelter, etc. in varied conditions throughout the NW. It is critical that the company I purchase from has the experience and knowledge to answer all my challenges. Rainier has experienced sales staff, I am always confident that whomever I get can help me. However, I have done business with Randy and Barbara for decades and they are two of the best in the industry that I have had the pleasure of working with. I own a large tent inventory and the best of it is from Rainier in both event tents and tenting accessories. Rainier uses high quality fabrics, engineered components, and has a state of the art manufacturing facility to meet my future needs in an evolving industry. They are the sounding board to all my questions when the nearing the limits of what a tent can do. Thank you for the excellent service, support and great products.

Well if you need any follow up, this is not the company for you! I found out the hard way. First, the sign I got is a digital process that looked nice but did not hold up. I am a small business and spent $1250 on signs that are 8 x 2. I called for support and no one took my call or returned my call for over a month. I called again. A guy sent me an email he was going to check on it and never heard back on that. 3 weeks passed, I called again, the guy was in the printing department and told me I should just go to a different sign company. Then I got someone else who came out to the shop took pictures of the sign and never called back. So if you want to spend a lot of money and get a nice sign that lasts a couple of years, ok. However if you want a nice sign that doesnt last with virtually no customer service, this is the place. PS My sandwich board sign printed at Sun Signs for $165 is still bright and looks great. Also this is Seattle, so no sun damage here!

We LOVE our Rainier shades! We had 1 installed on our covered deck and 3 installed on our picture windows overlooking Puget Sound. It is so nice to block out the bright warm sunlight to save our furniture & floors from fading (not to mention our eyes!) and still be able to enjoy our magnificent view! The shades block an amazing amount of heat, too, keeping it cooler in the summer! They are VERY high quality, sturdy, and easy to operate (all on 1 programmable remote)! Our location was a little tricky to instal, so we have encountered a few issues since then, but the service team has been incredible! Sue is very prompt via email to respond to my inquiries and gets us on the schedule quickly when a technician is needed. Kyle is a FANTASTIC tech- personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable/experienced with these products! Rainier stands behind their products all the way and Kyle has made us feel very secure in our choices! We HIGHLY recommend Rainier for outdoor solar shades!

We recently purchased an 18 Eagle yurt from Rainier, and recommend them highly. I spent a fair amount of time researching the various companies, and Dana from Rainier was the quickest to respond to my telephone call, and she took her time explaining the benefits of a yurt, the various differences between the companies and products, and what I should expect from the yurt buying process. She was patient and thorough, and made sure that I had the info that I needed in order to compare and consider all the many options in the most efficient way. I had never even BEEN in a yurt prior to purchasing one- I was THAT comfortable with the decision.Ordering, delivery coordination and even installation went smoothly. We hired a recommended contractor to build the yurt with us, and it was really fun. I actually would love to do it again.Our Rainier yurt isnt the cheapest option available out there, but the quality, the workmanship and the design are top notch and we had zero problems paying more for the value adds. We are architects, and design is extremely important to us and I can tell its important to Rainier as well. The yurt is airy, spacious and feels very much like a grown- up space and less like a tent. And, its just gorgeous.We have had it wired for internet, electricity, and we use it as our office. Its a dream to just have to commute to our back yard.For us, its been one of the best purchases we have made, and we would recommend Rainier to anyone.

We purchased the retractable solar screen. Visually we still look out onto our deck while the searing sun is blocked, but not the view. Installation worked great and the ease of use and cooling are fantastic. The remote control and power makes it easy to use. We cant imagine how we lived without it! Thanks, Patty S.

Rainier was great to work with. They were efficient and professional. Our installation involved several different materials as well as large scale custom wall coverings and 3D elements. It was a complicated installation and there were unseen issues that arose during the process that they went above and beyond to handle in order to complete the job and do the job right. I would definitely recommend them.

Motorized screens designed and installed by Rainier for our patio are great addition to our house. The screens give us an outdoor space that we can use throughout the year. The screens cut down on heat and as well as cold depending on the season.Rainier did a great job. They are very friendly, professional in their approach, and their installers are superb. We are very happy that we chose them. We recommend them.

I bought my first yurt last year from Rainier. From the get-go, they were excellent to work with. My questions were responded to promptly and the buying process was seamless. All yurt pieces were packed well and nothing was missing or damaged. Instructions were easy to follow (if you have some construction knowledge, or a helper who does). It went up easily and has performed flawlessly so far through a typical blazing hot, dry summer and rainy winter in southern Oregon. I am still furnishing it and adding interior components to make it 100% off-grid. Materials were of excellent quality, much sturdier than I had expected, and overall the yurt is an attractive focal point in the landscape as well as being an efficient living space. I bought the 30 diameter and it feels HUGE inside, almost like a small cathedral, which fits perfectly into the wooded glen where I built it. Thanks a million, from a very happy customer!

Rainier Industries are wonderful to work the yurts are absolutely amazing!We love love love our gorgeous yurt we bought several years ago. we bought it for a guest house and loved it so much we ended up living here. we love the awnings, french doors, large picture windows. We even added heated floors and a wood burning stove as we love it so much for the Winter for Upstate NY. I have been in negotiations with Rainier Yurts for the past couple of months to purchase a yurt. They have been very professional and responsive in all their communications. While things did not work out at my end and I had to cancel my order I would highly recommend you buy your yurt from Rainier. Their 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch lattice was a very positive selling point. All the other yurt manufacturers I researched only had 1 1/2 x 1/2 inch lattice.

I own a restaurant which had a Rainier Tent top that was at least 25 years old that needed to be replaced. When I contacted them, I was put in contact with Randy and Sheridan. They were both extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. Even though it was quite a small job, Randy took the time to visit our property on one of our closed days to confirm our measurements and meet us in person. We highly recommend Rainier Industries for anyone looking for a top notch product and sales and design help!

The Rainier staff that came to our house caused $10,000 in damage due to negligent installation.We hired them to install a retractable awning from our roof. They forgot to properly seal the lag bolts, which caused rainwater to seep into our walls, leak into our house, and cause rot. When they came back to apply silicone to the bolts, the leaking stopped but the damage was done.Their insurance firm denied responsibility for the damage and we are now facing $10,000 in repairs. If they had installed the awning properly none of this would have happened.

From the project kick-off meeting on, I feel like the art department gets my vision and will be able to produce it. And every time I show one of their small-scale mock-up proofs my clients are wowed. Its such a relief to know my artwork is in safe hands. Rainier is one of my favorite vendors!

The house we bought came with an awning and soon after we moved in one of the hinges broke off, so I called the local awning companies. Rainiers first response was that it wasnt theirs cause our address was not in their database (because databases are perfect, right?). Their competitor, however, immediately recognised it as a Rainier awning.So I emailed Rainier again with detailed pictures, yet still they denied it was theirs because of, you guessed it, the database. After me insisting a technical person look at the pictures they came back with a quote. Apparently if one arm breaks, both have to be replaced. The amount was essentially the same as the cost of a new system. Dont think Ill be going with them if it came to that.

Ive bought awnings twice from Rainier Industries and had excellent service each time. Two stationary awnings still look great five years later, and we just got a huge retractable awning installed this month. Sales and installation was efficient and excellent.

The quality of our new shade is outstanding. Not only do we use it for shade but when we get that drizzle that the Pacific Northwest is known for, but still want to be outside, its the perfect addition to our patio with more usable outside living space.

Recently my husband and I were searching for replacement windows for 1997 Nesting Bird Yurt. After doing our research on the internet, we were extremely fortunate to find Dana at Rainier Industries/Rainier Yurts. Dana was very knowledgeable and she worked with us to make sure the measurements, fabric and quality were a perfect match with the yurt we had used and loved for many years.The new wall panels and windows shipped exactly when requested and they fit perfectly, even though our yurt was 17 years old.We are constantly amazed at how durable and long lasting the fabrics are... even in the desert sun of southern Utah. Back in 1991 my wife and I spent a miserable weekend in an old light-canvas 4-man tent, 6,000 feet up in the east-slope Cascades. We were caught off-guard by an early and heavy snow-fall. My wife said, never again! I want a REAL tent, with a stove. How wonderful...Id been lobbying for just such a tent for years, to no avail.A few weeks later we were the proud owners of a 12x16 Rainier wall tent. I went the extra mile, and designed my own super-fly, made of white-plastic-coated heavy material, which extended eight inches past the tent sides, two feet past the back, and ten feet past the front, with a reinforced stove-pipe hole in the same place as the tent. The side and back extensions give us more shade and drip lines well out from the tent, while the front extension gives us a nice ante-room, used as a kitchen when its not too windy or cold, and giving us plenty of room to store firewood and take off muddy boots at any time.We used this tent frequently throughout the next twenty years, for mountain grouse, deer, & elk camping in the Cascades, but much more often for just getting up into the high country for a three-day weekend or a weeks vacation.In 2009, we bought 80 acres in a canyon, over in eastern WA. Theres a tiny cabin, but when friends and family visit, up goes the old wall tent. My kids and grandkids love it as much as we ever did, and my friends are just happy to be far away from my snoring (...they love the tent for other reasons, too).The tent shows its age...its a bit dirty, and my wife has had to do repairs on the door-screen... we had an over-anxious dog with sharp claws. I had to replace the ropes, as mildew had weakened them a lot, but the tent fabric itself stayed strong. Its a treated canvas...I think its called polar something-or-other, but it is virtually rot-proof.The only gripe I ever had was that the dimensions of the tents footprint were exaggerated (didnt account for folded seams, etc). Actual measurements were six inches short in both length and width. I hear Rainier has corrected this, and a 10x16 is now actually 10x16.In any event, we have never had anything we enjoyed or appreciated as much as this tent. It is truly a well-designed and well-made product.Thanks.

We were looking to add a unique addition to our bed-and-breakfast inventory. We currently offer a formal Inn, and a very eclectic man cave. We had considered tiny homes and Yurts. After considerable consideration, we determined that a tiny home is an inconvenient structure that is probably only fun for the first hour. On the other hand, the Yurt was a unique structure that had all the possibilities of convenience and fun. We rent primarily on Airbnb, they guess are looking for something quirky, different and unique. The Yurt seem to offer all of these things. We contacted a number of manufacturers and soon realized that Rainier provided the most information on their product and provided a real person to communicate with. Dana was wonderful to work with. She was informative, extremely knowledgeable, and helped us select the product that best fit our needs. We certainly were interested in price, but Dana pointed out the advantages of moving up to the Eagle product. Having never built Yurt before we needed information to help us make a decision. The best thing that I can say about the construction of the Yurt is that there were no surprises. It installed as advertised. The detailed drawings and material list to create the deck were amazing. They were accurate and easy to follow. When there was a question Dana was available to find an answer. I recruited three neighbors to help with the erection of the Yurt and to their surprise starting at 8:30 AM and ending at 5:30 PM. The complete building was erected. No surprises, no glitches. An excellent instruction manual and knowing that there was Dana to back us up if we had a problem. One of my friends that help construct my Yurt is ordering one for he and his wife to put on a small island near Titusville, Florida. It can be transported by barge and he knows it can be installed in a day. I encourage you to look at our Yurt on Airbnb Geneva Florida.
