Went in to just return one online ordered item. The app made it quick and easy to make the return, just have cashier scan barcod.at bottom of order and they scan the item to make sure its on the order, and then money goes back to your card. Yes it was quick and easy but I cashier could have been a bit friendlier. The only time she spoke was after I asked her a question and when she told me the money was going back on my card and gave me my receipt.
James in jewelry dept is awesome. I very stand-up man. Awesome server, great attitude, and answered all of my questions.

I always 💕 Loved JCPenney. The bathroom was not easy to find, the umbrella 🏖️ cost $28 but it seems like a quality umbrella now that I have used it. I still recommend the store. I always liked their catalogs when I was on an island and could not walk in the actual store.
Some employees offer and find coupons for you and others wont. Its hard to know which is going the extra mile and which one isnt. Which slows down checkout time.
I have been coming to this Sephora for years, the manager, who appeared to be, Mary Ruth, was not genuine, and rather subliminally rude. I was not the nicest to her at the register as a result. I know she was unaware about my history there and profiling seems to be the thing in Tusclaoosa, but we don’t need to come off a certain way to guests. Since I was a freshman in college I have been a devout customer since the general makeup inventory in Tusclaoosa is very behind. I miss the old crew who valued customers and made them feel like family.
Its gone down a lot. Every entrance but one is locked, closes super early, limited merchandise, no fitting rooms to try anything on, three employees in the entire store and they all seem to hate their job.

I have lived in this city for over 30 years. This JCPenneys is still very nice. Well kept with friendly associates. Helpful if you need them. The store is clean and the dressing rooms are fairly well kept. They have a good variety for the whole family.

JCPennys slide to bankruptcy continues. The quality of the merchandise is noticably worse than it was just a few years ago. They still do their everything is on sale gimmick. Theyre using Covid as an excuse to cut staff, which actually is counter-productive as customers wait longer in the store to be helped by the few floor staff there, and all gather around at the one register in the store thats open.

JCP is a staple for American shoppers... they probably have what your looking for in department store variety, reasonably priced, quality items. Went specifically for a hard to find type bed pillow & there it was & on super sale! Very happy!!

This place had gone down... The service is horrible. I ordered shorts and I never received a notice that they were ready for pickup. I checked and it said part of my order was in, but I never received an email. The last part of my order was in the store and wanted to purchase it. I did that, but it did not cancel my remaining order. Really!!!
This is Chris, Karens husband. I didnt enjoy the shopping experience at all. I was trying to find a suit for our son for my mothers funeral and couldnt find what I was looking for. After looking for 20 plus minutes and having no one there to help, we left and found a suit at a competing store.

Easy to see why they are closing. No checkouts, no customer service and extremely high pricing on clothing something penny used to be known for was getting great deals. Now everything is marked up, then you buy more you save more. Pay 3 times what one shirt is worth then you save 40 percent on another.
I needed dress clothes for my sisters funeral and was able to find everything we needed right here.
The was not a good selection to choose from. Was basically the exact same thing as all the other stores in the mall the boys section was small. When I went to check out it took me a long time to find a place to pay and then had to wait a long time. The lady was rude and slow. Acted like didnt want to be there and took her extremely slow time. I wont waste my time looking here next time.

The sales person returned it to an American Express, which is not mine for half the price I paid and wrong items! I had to go back in get a manager to correct it! Waste of my time for incompetence!.

Great clearance sales and I always watch my email for the $10 of of $25. It really makes a difference. Most staff are very helpful but one manger I dont care for too much. I visited the salon and I was there all day!
Not one employee acknowledged me and the one employee that I ask for help to find something, she tells me I dont know, I work in housewares. This was for something that was the department right next to her, not something that was across the store...the store was a wreck. Boxes of put backs under the racks in the departments.

I would discourage anyone from scheduling an appointment with Dr. Dawn Johnson located at JCPenny Optical, 1701 McFarland Blvd E. Tuscaloosa, AL. 35404! Ive been waiting since December 28, 2018 for my sons contacts to arrive. I paid Dr. Dawn Johnson $115.00 for my sons eye exam, and another $223.90 for his contacts THAT DAY! As of today 03/03/19, I still have not received his contacts! Not only have I made numerous attempts to speak with Dr. Dawn Johnson directly about the status of my order, but she has not once returned my calls. And, each time I stopped by the store, I was advised by her staff member the contacts hadnt arrived and to call before stopping back by the store so I wouldnt waste a trip! The next attempt for the status of the contacts, I was advised by a lady staff member the contacts were shipped to a location I havent lived at for years! I found this quiet confusing since my last order arrived at my current residence. I was then advised she would place another order for the contacts to ship directly to the store and that she would list this order as urgent and assured me I would receive a call ASAP. A week had passed and no update on the contacts, even though the order was supposed to be expedited! The second week rolled around and still no call! So again, I called the store and spoke with another staff member. He advised me the contacts were showing on his computer that they had arrived at the store, but... he couldnt locate them and assured me he would call me back ASAP. Its been four days now and I have still not received a call back from anyone! So again, I called the store only to get an answering machine where you cant even leave a message because it is full! At this point, I have no other choice but to take my son to another optometrist for an eye exam and hope he can get his contacts within a couple of weeks! I estimate this will cost me at the minimum $300.00 - $500.00, depending on the doctor who can see him ASAP! I do hope Dr. Dawn Johnson is happy with my money!! I have never been treated this poorly by someone who I paid for their professional service. I will never shop at JCPenny again!

I went in looking for just a tie, something light purple for my husband to wear to my daughters wedding. He has a gray shirt that he was planning to wear. Zyler in mens wear was there the minute I got on the sales floor asking to help. He helped me pick out a beautiful designed gray and lavender tie and then showed me a lavender Stafford shirt that matched beautifully, I ended up purchasing them both. Zyler was so nice, with his sweet smile shining the entire time. He deserves this recognition for great service.

I love shopping at JCPenney I get good deals all the time and most of the employees are helpful and courtesy. Waiting to check out is slow on the Holliday of course what stores isnt. I start at JCPenney and go back through the same door I come in. I dont make it into the mall. If you had one bad experience there talk to the manager Amanda and she will make it right. As for going to Wal-Mart I never get good service there. Most I didnt say all act like they are doing you a service by waiting on you. This is in Tuscaloosa Alabama.
