As a long time Columbia aficionado I packed two new bits of kit in my rucksack for a three week trip to Namibia. The sports jacket and the Anytime long sleeve top. The trip was mainly a camping tour of Namibias stunning national parks but there were a couple of luxurious stays in private game lodges. Clothing needed to be lightweight and robust; suitable for chilly nights under canvas and smart enough for al fresco sundowners and fine dining, with mosquitoes and day time temperatures in the mid thirties thrown in. The sports jacket has a plethora of attributes including wind resistant front and sleeve panels and omni-dry advanced evaporation on the back but essentially it looks like a smart, almost fitted, jacket. Lets not forget the Omni-Shield - Advanced Repellency, should you spill anything on your new sports jacket or get caught in a rain shower. The sports jacket provides an extra layer on chilly evenings or early morning game drives and I teamed it up with the anytime top or a thin fleece. Its real strength on this trip was its ability to look as good in the restaurant on the last night as it did on the first. No creases, despite being stuffed in a rucksack for three weeks, easily hand washed and very quick drying it kept its good looks despite fairly rough treatment. Perfect for trips where space is limited and clothing needs to be robust but versatile. The sports jacket comes in one color – black and is available in size XS to XL.
