Finding authentic ethnic food is a truly joyful occasion.Growing up on the streets of India where every breath is scented with spices and delicious flavors, I must say that I know a thing or two about Indian food. And unfortunately 9 out of 10 times I’ve tried it in the US, it’s been a disaster. Honestly, I cook better food than most restaurants (and yes this is a full-on challenge if you wanna hire me as a cook haha). But I’m seriously impressed with the food from Laxmi Sweets and Spices. At first glance, this small store looks like so many typical Indian markets - a little overstocked, a little disorganized, and with seating in the back that seems almost as an afterthought than the highlight of a restaurant. However, my God the food here is absolutely incredible! Both my fiancé and I are absolutely in love with their Navrattan Korma - so much so thats it’s become an almost weekly staple of our dining habits.Just FYI - they do serve meats, but have quite a few separately-prepared vegetarian options. The Navrattan Korma as I mentioned is the best. But their Chickpea curry, spinach paneer, and the Indian traditional street food Pav Bhaji are all very good as well.I’m so grateful for this family-owned business bringing authentic Indian food to the US. And while I don’t think I’ll ever get myself to dine-in sitting in the middle of a “restaurant”/grocery store, my fiancé and I will be customers here for a long long time!PS - they just signed on to GrubHub! I think I’m gonna be addicted 😂
Food in their restaurant was really bad. Felt like I was poisoned. Suffered with Diarrhea for next two days. Two weeks later we went to get wheat. It was past expiry date. Would never go here again.
I was craving good authentic Indian food. Went to this restaurant after seeing good reviews, but the food wasnt good.
My family has been ordering their food for almost 20 years now and its the place I look forward to eating from when I come back to the area to visit. The staff is friendly, the tikka masala, navratan korma, palak paneer, and tandoori chicken are my all-time favorites. Everything here is delicious and consistently amazing.
I have been coming here for 15 years and they have the best CTM in the world! I also love their dosa and Indian snacks and sweets!
The people running this place seemed a little cranky but I’m giving this five stars anyway because it’s some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Hadn’t even planned on eating, I went in to use the restroom and it smelled so good I had to try it. I got the tikka masala and a vegetable dish; both were exquisite and really authentic (yes, I’ve been to India).
I discovered this place not too long ago and I love it so much! The food is amazing and Ive been meaning to purchase some of the merchandise they have inside as well. Very clean and the customer service is excellent. Everyone is working really hard and I apperciate their business :)
I think fairly reasonable prices for any spices needed for almost any Indian dish. $10 minimum credit card purchase but he also accepted venmo. 👍
Came for the first time, got the 3 item combo. It was all delicious! They even snuck me a mango lassi since they were closing without me noticing! AND GAVE ME THE RAITA WITHOUT ME ASKING OR FUSS (everyone knows Indian places always forget to give the raita or charge extra). I love this place now and will also be back for groceries
This Place has been sold-off to new owner who has named it International India Bazaar.Short-staffed and poor service.Always keep your Bill Receipt when paid with Card. They add extra charge to billed amount.
This is one of the best places where you will get very good Indian food and groceries. If you eat Chat Masala or Pani puri, you feel like you are in Delhi and for Masala Dosa you feel like you are in South India. They have lunch buffet, different types of Thali etc. Apart from foods, Hindi movie DVD is also available for rental. You must try Ras Malai here.
New ownership, slow service.. Seems like they were busy smoozing some group of guys rather then serve paying customers...
The woman in the front is rude.
My family and I have been eating here for decades now, it’s our favorite Indian Restaurant. The food is amazing, it’s very much a hole in the wall kind of place, the seating area is behind the grocery store section, but the food can’t be beaten!
Everything we had was mouthwatering good. Hands down my new favorite place for Indian Food. We did their Laxmi Sweets & Spices, which for the price and quality of food was definitely not bad at all. And this isnt some third rate, fly swarming, dried-up food buffet either; everything was cook/prepared fresh and made with love. Even the waiters were all very polite and made sure everything was okay. Definitely returning.
Don’t skip this spot if you want a great meal for lunch! You can shop for Indian food supplies here if you want. Been going here since 2006.
Amazing food and excellent service. I was almost getting disappointed in CA that they have no real authentic Laxmi Sweets & Spices food, until I found this. Wow !! These guys are awesome. The food is excellent. Being a vegetarian, I cant tell about the nonveg Laxmi Sweets & Spices . Nevertheless, the veggie food was heaven. I will surely come here again on my next visit
This site is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. when I feel like having a special lunch, this place comes first to my head. fresh and all kinds of food and a rich cuisine.courteous team, and good mood. Not less important, the pay is affordable. I tell about this place with no hesitation.
Good food. Great naan. Quick service, because its buffet style. Downside: a couple flies hanging around inside the restaurant, bothering you at your table. The food is very good, at a great price.
Tasty! Better than Natraj’s Tandoori!
Weve had consistently delicious food from Laxmi Sweets & Spices . The lunch buffet is the best Ive had. You can easily taste that the food is made with care and pride.
Had a great dinner served by Baldev! Thanks for your service and well be back soon! Delicious and pleasant experience!
Great food! Faiz was super helpful as our server. Delicious chicken korma and mughalisLaxmi Sweets & Spices ..
The food was good! A lots of options in the buffet. It was fresh not an over night kinda thing. Customer service is not up to par. They need to work on that. They need to alternate their desserts. Only 1 option everyday. I wish I could give 5! Prices were ok. 12.99 for buffet not 10.99!!! Prices are bit off... no refill on lassie.
Small place, has a nice variety of groceries (masalas, flours, ready to eat items) and items on the menu.Food is okay, prices are reasonable.Parking lot in front eith plenty of parking.
Lunch buffet has a large variety of all your favorites. The food is delicious and comes with hot chai and mango lassi. The service was wonderful as well. Highly recommend.
Great family owned Indian food and grocery shop. The food here is great! Love the wraps chicken or paneer and the Chaat. My taste runs spicy and they will light it up! Great service too.
Worst experience. Very high price for every item. I bought a 10lb basmati for 12.99, same i found in wholesome market in 9.98. Same for other items too. Will never visit again and will never recommend anyone
Food is tasty and a very clean presentation. The owners are friendly. Buffet price is competitive.
This is the best Indian food Ive ever tasted. Its a total hole in the wall (in fact, its more an Indian sundries store than restaurant) but isnt that often the case with great food? So dont expect beautifully ironed table clothes (think, Formica tables) and gorgeous wall art (Indian soap operas on a small tv instead), but do expect great, great food!
Needed some paneer for my recipe tonight.Ran in to grab a block. They were closed today but kindly helped me anyway.Very nice people.
Satisfied with the quality served. Especially spanj rasgulla is so fresh and nice
The prices are reasonable but the portions are small. Also has an Indian Grocery store. Sweet!
This is Tustins greatest hidden Indian food joint. Dont let the grocery store front fool you. The lunch buffet has one of the widest and best selection of food of any Indian place Ive visited in Tustin/Irvine at a price that was very reasonable. Curry is delicious. Naan is fresh, and mango lassi is included with the lunch meal. The owner also offered us samples of things we didnt even order just to let us try something new! While I avoid eating too much at lunch, this joint has come close to putting me to sleep at the office all too often. If youre looking for lunch-time Indian, this is the place to be. I cant speak to the grocery fare/tax preparation, but as far as fresh food is concerned, I dont think theres any contest.
This place is tasty enough. It is a little bit on the cheap sideas far as ambiance. 9 bucks for the buffet. Their food tends to be more on the spicy side which I like. But for a couple dollars more I rather go to Havelli in Tustin and get better ambiance. I would write more but I have to keep going back to the toilet as after I ate here I had issues, and so did my chick. that also ate there with me.
After having pizza, burger in Disneyland I felt like having Indian food. When I saw dosai option in this restaurant I placed an order for Onion Uttapam and palak paneer through Doordash. I could hardly eat the “burnt onion sour batter Uttapam”. Palak paneer was ok, but 1 star is definitely for the uttapam
This Restaurant is the only place you can find south Indian food in Orange County. My favorite dish is vegan masala dosa. When I lived in Irvine, I used to drive to this restaurant every other week. They recently remodeled the restaurant to look more nicer and they always play Bollywood music videos on their large screen TVs. I also enjoy buying food is at their market. One time they had a sale and I bought a lot of frozen masala dosas. I love their sambar spicy soup. I definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone who loves Indian food and to vegans.
Decent Indian food and reasonable price
Great food and is very affordable. the owner even went to greet our party.
Really bad service, they need more customer skills .....
Samosa Chole was good. Served us bad gulabjamins which were very stale and smelled awful. Run by a family so not professional. Owners talk nicely with regular visitors only and not every customer.Price is also high.
The worst ind restaurant ever!! I m a vegetarian but felt like nonveg was being served. Lunch buffet was not up to mark! Never go to this place. Food was not tastely n the price is too high
Lunch buffet is really worth it. Dinner not the best, food gets a little stale and is a tad expensive. But usually tastes good and the mango lassi is great.
Tasty Indian food and groceries. Lots of parking. They dont accept cards when bill less then $10
Samosa is fine. I didn’t like chat.
Owner and is friendly to regular customers only. I was there for buffet and the owner charged for buffet for my 3 years old. Wow
The best Indian food you will likely ever have.
Great place for Indian snacks, quick lunch or dinner and buying Indian grocery.
You seen to get more variety than any other Indian restaurant because they have chats,North Indian thali, msalas dosas and great deserts too..Also the curries are not the usual spinach and paneer dipped in heavy cream. They taste better and healthier options than other restaurant
This place has good amount of options to eat, lots of chaats options, roti sabzi. Pani puri is good, samosa was really good, bhej puri was ok. In all a decent place to have chaats.
Everything on the Buffet was super tasty..Panipuri was delicious
I came here to buy some spices but ended up eating here last night. i tried the mango lassi and masala dosa. it came with a small bowl of vegetable soup. it was hot, spicy and delicious. the dosa was large in portion and tasty.Owner and staff there were also very polite. I am going to try the chicken curry next
Food is good and the price is nominal.
Love this place! Best authentic Indian food!
If you want to enjoy some great tasting Indian food without the frills of fine dining (more of a Dhaba style) this is the place for you. The veg options are better than non-veg.Must Try: Baingan bharta, Mutter Paneer, Aloo Tikki chat, Samosa chat.
Great Indian food combined with an Indian grocery store.
I love this place and the owner is super cool
Some of the rudest people I have ever seen in my life
Good food, not expensive. wide variety of food.
Rude owners....They do not tell you anything...do not go in summer, it was so hot....air conditioners were not working properly.
Try the fresh parathas here!
I tried their lunch buffet and it was okay.
Good Indian lunch buffet.
Lunch buffet is not up to the mark. White rice not steamed well, they mentioned it was mutton biryani, but surprisingly it made with combination of mutton and chicken and taste just seems like curry mixed with white rice...Not recommended.....
Good food and courteous owner.
