This is our new favorite place in Tyler! The food and service is excellent! The gift shop is just lovely. This will be a regular stop for us every time we come to Tyler to visit. Great people!

Me and my mom have LOVED to go here for their buffet for years! Soups, salads, sweet/baked potatoes, curry chicken salad, desserts you name it!

If you’re looking for a great place to have a nice, relaxing lunch with friends, or that someone special; The Potpourri House is the place to go!It doesn’t matter how many times I go; I always find something new; and I’ve been going here over 30 years!The food is excellent and the service is incredible; always!Let’s not forget the gift shop! It’s not just any, ordinary gift job! The Potpourri House gift has that “something different,” “something unique,” “something special,” kind of gift; you just can’t find anywhere else!You have to visit around the holidays too! Wow! The decorations are out of this world! They sell everything from Pandora, to very unique Christmas ornaments!When I go with my mom and daughter, I usually get the “Triplet.” It’s a combination of what The Potpourri House has become famous for... One scoop of each, pimento cheese, heavenly chicken salad, & tuna salad, on a bed of lettuce, with fresh fruit and your choice of a muffin or croissant! (Then we usually get anything chocolate for dessert!)Overall, this place is my all time favorite place to eat and shop!I definitely recommend everyone going here. Just be careful! Once you go, you will want to go again, and again, and ....again.It’s become a tradition with my family!

Food was fine, and even the atmosphere was nice. However our server (large party of 8) was rude, felt the need to tell us her opinions about our drink and food orders, (I dont drink alcohol and dont want any of you to leave here drunk, ((we had a DD BTW)) Im a vegan and could never eat that soup). As with any service role, it is not your position to put your feelings onto your customers.

Delicious pimento cheese on their special bread! Entire meal was delicious. Spiced orange tea was very refreshing!

In the past 2 years, I have been supportive of the Potpourri House - encouraging friends to come for lunch after bowling. Today’s really bad experience now makes me hesitant to recommend lunch there again.We waited over 45 minutes to have our orders taken - friends at the table that selected salad bar just went ahead and got their orders and were 1/2 finished with eating by the time our order was taken. When we asked repeatedly about status of our meals … they finally brought it out - wrong orders - which we accepted out of desperation. The soups were bad, they brought wrong beverages, and the salads were incorrect. Then we waited another +45 minutes for the tickets… one lady’s ticket was missing … so the waitress comped it. Others were randomly billed for the original price or discounted prices - instead of the waitress apologizing over and over, the manager should have stepped in to comp all meals.When I got to my car and thought about what had just happened, I called in to speak to the manager. I explained that I was calling to ensure management was aware and had the opportunity to correct their service issues. Wes came to the phone, and apologized saying that he was “unaware” of what had occurred and would address it immediately with staff. After hearing this “response” I decided to write a review.The fact is that the manager was there on the floor and was grossly negligent it he did not see what we were going thru seated at the table by the entry. In fact all of the waiters were openly discussing the situation as were sat there stranded until our credit cards were finally returned.So disappointed with the service, food and lack of CUSTOMER care.

Let me begin by saying if there were more stars, Anthony and the staff at Potpourri House would get all of them. My husband and I selected the Potpourri House for the reception venue for our wedding. It was the best decision we could have made. Anthony was fantastic as our event coordinator at the venue. He handled everything with complete professionalism. We selected the Wagyu-beef kabob and Chicken Lou Al pasta for our dinner buffet. The food was excellent, and the staff was extremely attentive to all our guests needs. We received rave reviews from our guests.We cannot recommend the Potpourri House highly enough.

I was there for a baby shower. However I did try the food there. I had a chicken breast with bread crumbs and almonds, mashed potatoes, and steamed green beans. Wow! That chicken was off the chain.

We had a very good lunch at reasonable price. My fried chicken breast was fried crunchy and thin with mashed potatoes and sawmill gravy, to serve as my main course. My wifes salad was also very good. This restaurant is noted for excellent quality with smaller sized portions.

Very good customer service! The waiters were kind and checked up on us regularly. The food was also very good. I got a burger with fries then cheesecake for dessert. No issues whatsoever.

I had lunch here recently and was very impressed. Our Server, Bella, was extremely friendly and offered great selections. She gave us great customer service. We all tried something different and all were great choices. The desserts were amazing. My two Aunts could not stop talking about Bella. They had come to visit from Houston so I felt really proud to share this place with them.

We recently used The Potpourri House to cater our granddaughter’s wedding and I must say that all the food was outstanding! I can’t say enough good things about Les that served our food. He was so very pleasant and helpful. It was a very hot day outside before the wedding started and our guests were really needing water. Even though this was not part of the catering requirements, he loaded up trays of water and ice and brought it outside and served all of our guests. We were so appreciative of this. I would use this facility again in a second and require that Les be present! He was awesome, as well as the food. You must try the strawberry salad if you have not already!The Potpourri House has always been our favorite restaurant in Tyler!

This place is wonderful. Half gift shop. Half restaurant. Really love the whole set up inside. Ive been in Tyler bout 10 years and this was my first time here. The gift shop has many different things to choose from. From clothes, jewelry, hand bags - to - Christmas decor, candles, dishes etc. they have just about everything you can gift. Lol. After we walked around the gift shop. We stayed and ate in the little cafe area.

Great place to get your fried food fix. We actually preferred them over several of the popular fried seafood joints in the area. We popped in at about 2:30 on a Tuesday for a late lunch. Seating was relaxed and we were asked to sit any available table.

The catering pricing was affordable and the service was excellent. The tasting went extremely well and made Potpourri House an easy choice. Unfortunately, the food that arrived to the wedding reception was not quite what we expected. We asked for loaded mashed potatoes as one of the sides and received plain mashed potatoes. We asked for meatballs as a second entree and received spaghetti. The food tasted vastly different from what we had at the tasting. However, all of the guests thought it was delicious and I appreciate their great service.

Last night, I attended my first and last Ladies Night at this place. I paid $25 for reserved seating, arrived early and was seated in one of the private rooms even though there were seats open in the main dining room. I could not see the entertainment and could barely hear it. There were drawings for door prizes and I and the others in the room could barely hear. Not being in the main dining made me feel as I though I was not even a part of this event and others at my table felt the same way. My other complaint is the main dish looked like someone just threw it together and if youre going to have buffet style with a large group, there should have been a line on each side. This is a fun place. Not your ordinary restaurant. We had chicken crepes with almond sauce that came with a nice size bowl of fruit and a glass of spiced oranged mint tea. Then shopped in their clothing/jewelry shop. Of course we couldnt leave empty handed. They have cute, quality items.

Went to a wedding reception that they hosted. Good food and great service. The power went out, but they made it one of the best wedding receptions I have ever been to. Food was sti good, danced, and had really good service from the staff. I am glad they let us stay and that they were so helpful.

I moved from Tyler years ago and have not had the opportunity to visit Potpourri House. It is just as magical as I remembered just in a different location. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was excellent. The shops were stocked full of Christmas goodies!

Absolutely the best restaurant in this area. The food is expertly prepared, the staff is courteous and helpful, and the shop is very fun. They even offer live music! I will be coming here from now on.*UPDATE* While the food has improved even more (it was already excellent), they do not have live music any longer. I believe it is available upon request for private parties though!!

Nice little place, with a good salad, soup and baked potato bar. I like a good salad bar and there is a very limited selection in Tyler. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon salad and is ready to try some of the other items. She also enjoyed the gift shop and items.

My favorite place to eat in Tyler for lunch, hands down. Whether dining alone, with a client, or with my entire staff, Potpourri House is my first and only choice. Their soup, salad, and baked potato bar have new selections each time I visit and their food is always fresh. Can’t live without their cornbread salad and their pimento cheese on fresh croutons made in house. And I haven’t even started on the shopping! Why not shop and have lunch at the same location??! Brilliant!!!

First time to visit this place. Was there for a dinner and a speaker. Had two fish options for dinner. I had the fried catfish with green beans, mashed potatoes and a roll. The other option was grilled salmon with the same sides. Fried fish was a little over done, but very tasty. Other guests said the salmon was good. So I know nothing about other menu items. A gift shop is in the front part of the restaurant. I would go back.

I had a wonderful experience at The Potpourri House today with my Parents and a Family Friend. The strawberry salad was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Please if you do get a chance to go eat there ask for Mr. Rick. He made a recommendation to try the soup of the day and was there to ask how everything tasted. That made the overall experience wonderful.

Had a bit of wait due to our large group, not too bad. Ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Sides a bit underseasoned and tea too sweet. Overall not too bad, would try again.

I took my great friend/country musician Brantley Gilbert there in 2009 and we had a blast they have Colby beef and a harp player that was tailgating request so we requested the Benny Hill theme song and on a dare. .if played our singer would run around the building slapping Brantley Gilberts Brother on the back of the head like the Benny Hill show.. Yes that totally happened that was the night I became close friends with the Brantley Gilbert Band ever since

We had a bridal shower in the small event room today. The venue is free for 2 hours and up to 16 people. Most of us had the soup, salad and potato bar and it was very good. Our server was Sydney and she was amazing. Will definitely recommend

I met a group of my friends at Potpourri House for a girls night out & we had an awesome time!! Had the best server Ive ever had anywhere, ever! (His name is Jay) Several of us have gluten allergies & he worked very hard to accommodate us with a great attitude. The atmosphere is so lovely! You feel like youre sitting out on a patio in the evening. Then you get to shop! Thank you Potpourri house for the best girls night out ever!!

I love the things theyre famous for locally, like the amazing hot spiced tea, the pimiento cheese, and the strawberry salad. But I also LOVE the tomato basil soup, the mushroom soup (the best Ive ever had) and the chicken salad on a croissant. They have created a gluten-free menu for those who need it, too! Even pizza. Love it.

I had my moms 90th birthday party at Potpourri house on Jan 26th, Saturday. There were about 12 of us. Excellent food and service! Cliff our server did an outstanding job all around! My mom and I came back for lunch 2 weeks later. Same wonderful food and service! Will come back again and again. No wonder our pastors wife recommend this gem for parties and showers. 😁

The atmosphere was very nice and quiet and made it easy to visit with our party at the table. Our server was Jay and he did a fabulous job. He was very informative about the menu, made sure our experience was perfect and very conversational. The strawberry salad, which is my favorite thing, and the turtle cheesecake were perfect. The only thing that could be better was the New York Strip. It did not have much flavor at all. The Christmas items in the store were very appealing and fun to look at. Our party had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again.

This is a great gift shop for someone else, or yourself. They have a huge selection of pandora charms and other items. They also have a great eatery. I love their fresh homemade pimento cheese. The atmosphere is lovely for dining.

The Potpourri House is not just a restaurant it is a must visit destination. The food is of the highest standards. I love the strawberry salad and any of the pasta dishes. Be sure to leave some room so you can try one of the desserts.After your meal take time to visit the boutique. My wife loves the candles and I love the jalapeño breakfast jellies. I highly recommend the Potpourri House to all East Texas residents and visitors.
