Its a great place to buy something for your hobby but dont expect to return anything, they just direct you to the manufacturer. Not very knowledgeable of questions I had but made stuff up to sell product. Ive said all this but I still continue to go because I cant keep the RC cars I bought there running longer than 10 min... $3000 later

Ive been here twice now for two very different items and the staff was extremely helpful. I really have to give them props on their customer service. On both visits, multiple employees offered assistance and advice and were very friendly. They have a variety of unique toys, kits, and tools for children and adults. If youre into puzzles, they have the best variety in town, from simple, kid-friendly pieces to textured, frameable ones. My roommates and I really enjoyed working one together (I believe it was 1,000 pieces, if not more). Give them a visit if youre a hobbyist or tinkerer.

Well, as usual I came in looking for rock crawler accessories and no help. Was directed to what they had behind the counter I couldnt access some axial parts. I was interested in tires and wheels and was advised they didnt carry stuff for crawlers like that. On my way out the door i saw a rack of rock crawler tires. Im not sure why I keep stopping in here.

As the only hobby store close to me, Ive had to deal with poor customer service and rude employees here over the years, but I noticed a change over the last several months. Im treated better, no one is rude, Im greeted with a smile, and the staff go above and beyond to get me what I need. Heres 5 stars, thanks guys.

The problem of That store is the owner.... period 💯 I was going here for about 2 years but Ive taken my business to big mikes in longview...

They were very helpful and encouraging in the diy plane I was building. Ive had bad experiences in the past here but with the staff that they have now things have turned around. I will be going back often. A friendly person is all it takes for me to go in the store and not order online.

I went in on 7-2 to seek help on a racing drone I was having issues with. The sales person, who I assume was the owner was extremely rude. While trying to tell him what the issue was, he never really paid attention as he was more worried who was coming in and out the front door. Second, because I purchased the drone online and not in his store, he told me everything online is complete garbage and trash. Very stupid to purchase online and I will not touch it because then you can get made at me for breaking something. Very unprofessional business. If this knowledgeable hobby town owner wanted to sell some parts and make a little money, belittling people is not the smart way to go. He is pushing people to buy online with his attitude and demeanor. Great way to put yourself out of business. Would rate 0 if I could. DO NOT SHOP HERE OR SEEK HELP HERE.

I called a day ahead to make sure they had the part I needed for my RC, told the guy I was coming from Louisiana. Said they had the part in stock, drove 2 hours the next day to only be told they dont actually have the part in stock.

They have alot of stuff but lean more towards rc cars. Not very helpful with the airplane side of the hobby. I will drive 100 miles further to go to a hobbyshop that the employees are nicer and they are more helpful.

Grear place with helpful people. I finely went in about 6 months ago and was pleasantly surprised. I have been helped by 5 different people since Ive been back (multiple times). All of them have been very helpful and pleasant. The place is on par with the stores in Dallas.

I have been in here dozens of times and purchased several products. Every time the staff has been extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. This place is a jewel, providing what you cant get from online retailers, smiling faces.

Ive bought a DJI Inspire one pro here and was taken care of very well! When my drone wasnt performing properly, they called their tech and they gave me advice I needed on how to deal with DJI on warranty. Hobby Town doesnt know me personally but always treat me like they do.

During checkout, the cashier was oddly rude. She was verbally short, without eye contact, saying only, sign that to my reciept. She never said hello or thank you. I attempted several times saying, Hello, how are you? Thank you and have a good day. As I left, I even said, Thank you again one more time, thinking its a misunderstanding. She just ignored me. No one else was in line.... just odd.... In summation, it was an unwelcoming experience leaving an odd feeling about my 70.00 purchases....

I really believe that race relations in this country isnt as bad as the media makes it seems. But when I walked into this store in Tyler, Tx. two men were working, neither asked if they could help me what so ever! 3-5 mins later a white gentleman walks in and they both spoke and asked if they could help him find anything. Both men were helping this one customer, one on the computer trying to look up his product and the other helping him look on the shelf. I stood at the counter for about two minutes and said to myself screw it, they are not worth my business! What a shame in 2019 on Easter weekend. Im a black male US Navy Veteran.As a business owner myself.....this sickens me!

Overall great experience! ...but let me get to it. So, I walk in and eventually ask an older woman a question. She grimaced a bit and led me to Luke, a knowledgeable, cheerful and helpful young man. He showed me his aircraft, but upon learning I was looking for something to do with my 10 year old daughter, he recommended an rc car. Upon his enthusiasm, we picked the Granite 4x4. I was excited. My wife picked out a puzzle for our two year old and another for herself. We get to the register and are greeted by a cheerful young lady. Then the grimacer approaches.. Where she quite literally stands and observes the entire transaction with her arms folded. She even makes a comment which I perceived to insinuate that I may be attempting to steal a seven dollar kaleidoscope to accompany my three hundred dollar purchase. Luke is a seven star employee, which is why my rating averaged out to three stars. The lady who provided her overbearing prescence has made me feel absolutely insecure about my purchase today. I hope my daughters enthusiasm makes up for it.

This had to be the worst experience that I have ever had in my life as far as trying to buy anything. The owner is the rudest least helpful person that I have ever tried to deal with. He obviously has a problem with American people. After being talked to like a second class citizen I ended up walking out leaving all my supplies on the counter. He may be able to treat his employees like that, but he cant stay in business treating customers that way! I will never set foot in His store again as long as I live. I ended up ordering all my supplies from Amazon at one third the cost.A VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

We had a terrible and embarrassing visit there today. Will never go back. Worst part is the guy that runs the store is the one everyone is writing about on here. It could be such an amazing place but it definitely lost 4 dedicated customers today. The guy yelled at and belittled my husband all because he got embarrassed that he (the owner of the store) made a mistake in front of us and looked silly. It was actually confusing and weird that he was so angry and rude. We asked him not to treat us that way and to apologize to us. His response was to tell us to get out of his store. Good luck to all the other customers that may cross through their doorway.

I was really surprised at how good and nice there services is and how clean the store is. i have been in other RC stores and they are not very clean and there services is not that good or nice there people are very rude to there customers and dont care about the customers and always yell at them. i was got yelled at and they said i was too young to play with gas nitro RC trucks and i just left and told my family and friends not to go there because they will yell at you and tell that you that your too young or too old so thats when i came too hobby town in Tyler, TX and i never got yelled at and they never said i was too young or too old to play with gas nitro trucks so i stayed with them ever since. and they helped me pick out the style and size truck that suites me best.

Apparently you arent allowed to play with the toys there. I was there with a group of my friends and we were playing with the toys. A man which I assume is the owner rudely said you can put that down now then asked are you in high school or college? Guessing that was our cue to leave we left with the rude man staring. And to answer his question it doesnt matter how old we are. I thought we were customers, but apparently not.

Only hobby store in town, decent place though, wish they catered more to the up and coming Drone market.

The people at Hobby Town USA in Tyler TX have far exceeded all of my expectations. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. even if they didnt have the best inventory around; the employees would make you want to come back.With everything from toys (rubber snakes, GI Joes, & Hotwheels) for my 3 year old (who they play with & occupy while I shop) to Electric and Nitro R/C vehicles including ground, air, and water for me; I cant imagine that they dont have SOMETHING that will catch your attention and that you will enjoy. YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO PLAY WITH TOYS...

Save your money and do a little research online and just buy the items online. For what I spent on one of their crappy drones, I could have assembled a pro race quad! Ive said I wouldnt go back in the past and I did, but not again!
