The material I picked was discontinued. I only found this out because I called them about something else. This was a month after I paid and a week after they measured. I told them over the phone what material I wanted instead and spoke to Home Depot about it the next day. Now, 4 weeks later, they are telling me Home Depot just told them about my new choice 4 days ago. So I was trying to find out how much longer it would take but the person from Palmar was completely rude and unhelpful. I’m going to take my business elsewhere.
Excellent company for countertop fabrication and installation. Small to highest of end work - fair prices, great customer service, excellent craftsmanship.
They provided misleading instructions for sink installation. Also they claim without any evidence they always provide the correct instructions all the time. Plamar says home depot is responsible for providing instructions! Find another business who is willing to work with ya and provide you clear written instructions!Update:Talked to Home Depot about improper coordination, they paid for a few late services. Overall, the process could have been better!
Don’t use Plamar fabrication! Poor workmanship and zero responsibility. We purchased a Dekton countertop from Home Depot in 2016, based on a long list of features that convinced us that this was the highest quality product. The sales brochure lists “impact resistance” among its many assets: notably this feature no longer appears in their sales material.Home Depot contracts Plamar to perform the fabrication of the countertops. From the moment of delivery and installation we noticed irregularities and outright flaws along the majority of the exposed edges, especially around the radiused corners of the sink cutout. Within a couple of weeks we had a nickel sized chip become knocked out of one of these corners, caused by a thin wine glass that got knocked over. Plamar sent a worker with some plain glue to “repair” it, but we turned it down as no more than patchwork. This is the full extent that Plamar has ever supported us.Dekton is distributed and represented by Cosentino in the Bay Area. At the time they were responsive and sent a factory technician (from Spain) to examine and repair the problem. He indicated that the Plamar fabrication was substandard and that additional training was essential. We were satisfied with their engagement, until the corner chip that had been repaired came apart again, without any duress.Since then we have engaged Home Depot, Plamar and Cosentino to have them address the recurring fault. Each has passed the buck to the other in a never-ending hot potato of non-responsibility. Plamar has shirked any and all responsibility from the onset. Customer support representative Estrella even told me that all the order history had been lost during a system upgrade.I cannot recommend Plamar as I see them as a shoddy and irresponsible fabricator, and Cosentino an unreliable material supplier who does not stand behind their marketing claims or warranty.
Update: Home Depot did finally contact me to resolve the issue. The countertops look good and I am happy they took the time to resolve the issue.Home Depot hired Plamar USA to install new countertops in my kitchen. They flooded my home. I was reassured that the repair costs would be paid and to date they have not.Plamar USA passes the blame to someone else. I just want the repairs paid. Update : The repair bill was finally PARTIALLY paid after two months of waiting and contacting.
Do not use Home Depot to install your countertop! If I can give a negative score I would. Home Depot would not honor their original quote. Also, dishonest countertop fabricator - Plamar USA Kitchen Countertop - subcontractor of Home Depot.Does not honor the original quote which we paid in full before the measurement appointment. My final quote was over 280% of the original quote. No changes to the material and no changes to the original quote other than a selection of the edge style which I chose as eased edge, which for other fabricator is not an additional charge. All drawings were provided by my contractor with measurements including waterfall, sink location, stove location, and holes needed for the faucet, air vent, etc.The measurement appointment was one month later and then the final quote was provided. I nearly fainted when I saw the final quote. They not only wasted my time but they also took full payment and now telling me its going to take 2-4 weeks to get a refund.
I have never had customer service like I did while working with Plamar USA. Everyone single person I spoke with and emailed with were just amazing. They walked me through every detail (step by step) answered every single question I asked within the same day, and even called me when I didn’t get back to them to make sure I received their answers - I mean, who does that in todays world? I can’t get over what a pleasure it was working with them, especially after people saying what a pain it is to have any kind of remodeling work done at home. The installers were above and beyond courteous. They did everything they could to make sure we were part of the process and explained everything they were going to do – before they did it, so that we were kept in the loop. They left the house in great shape with very very minimal clean up and were as friendly as could be. They even explained some things to my KIDS! By far one of the best experiences with customer service from beginning to end! And I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. I would and have recommended this company to a few people already and I hope to come back to them soon when we move on to our next project. Truly a customer first company.
We worked with them for a counter install. There was some miscommunication between them and the retail outlet that design the kitchen. Wrong sink listed so they have to come back two times for template step. Install date set over the phone. No call day before to confirm and counter arrive two days early. Yikes. We werent ready but had to do it anyway or miss our time slot. We asked to keep piece cutout for sink but they said it was destroyed. Feels like they didnt even try to save it. Installers were great, but otherwise very uncomfortable experience caused by whoever was managing project cause they didnt ask the right questions.
I am planning a counter/backsplash install and purchased my stone in March, 2018. During the course of planning my project, my sister required extensive treatment and a bone marrow transplant. I have been her only caregiver, so needless to say, my projects have come to a grinding halt and are stalled for the time being. In fact, for nearly the past year, since I purchased my stone, Sondra, from Plamar has been my contact. Even though I havent been able to move forward, she has been so unbelievably kind and patient during this whole ordeal. I know birds of a feather flock together, so Im sure she exemplifies the corporate ethic of Plamar. I cannot do my project for a while more, but am looking forward to getting back on track and using this company to help make my kitchen beautiful!
Great Service! Thank you!
