Pleasant atmosphere.

As a 71 year old man, I have been very hesitant to admit my hearing is not what it should be! After repeated requests from my wife, which I had mainly ignored, it was my children getting after me that really got my attention. Being a pharmacist I get several medical publications and I had read a lot recently on auditory deprivation, with a really increased rate of dementia, which got my attention even more. But I was still hesitant to make an appointment to be examined. I got a mail out from Beltone and thought Ill just give this a try. I opted for the location in Union city as I go there often to visit my favorite Harley dealership, Abernathys Harley Davidson. Blake Pennington gave us a very warm and cordial welcome, giving a very professional introductory explanation of the tests and all else he would be doing, as well as a physical examination for both ears. Even at this point, I have to admit I was still a skeptic and not ready to admit I had a problem! The tests that Blake performed indicated I did indeed suffer hearing loss, worse than I had anticipated. Our initial visit was nearly 2 hours and in that time, I learned quite a bit about Blake, finding out he had attended Union University in Jackson with our 2 youngest children, also a lot of mutual friends. I had already arrived at the conclusion that Blake was very professional, very knowledgeable, and was honest in his approach to what suited me best for my hearing loss. Without his knowledge, I verified all the above with several people that had known him since their college days. My hearing aids arrived on time, and after I had used them for about a week, I received a follow up phone call from Blake just checking on me, to see if I had any problems, or anyway he could be of assistance, the call was very much appreciated and I let him know I was doing great, didnt realize what all I had been missing. I have to admit my vanity stood in the way for a long time but I have been very pleased with the appearance and the performance of my Beltone hearing aids. Beltone is a trusted name with several locations throughout the U.S., and I might add theres a lot more involved than just the initial purchase. I am very pleased with the product, but ESPECIALLY pleased with Blake Pennington at the Beltone Center, 1415 E. Reelfoot Ave, Union City, TN 38261. I highly recommend Blake if you suffer hearing loss, from personal experience, its better not to wait too long!
