The absolute best in selection, customer service and dedication. Staff makes me feel comfortable every time despite all the questions I always have, lol. Everyone is real nice and VERY knowledgeable. If you are lucky you may even meet “GOG” aka God of Guns who is their gunsmith and knows everything about guns. I’ve purchased 3 guns from them. One gun I purchased from Andy back in 2002 and 2 recently from Tom. I’m a customer for life.

I rarely put up reviews but this place deserves the recognition. I cant speak for everyone but my experience on this shop is great and thats me taking into account the 4 times Ive been there. They have a massive selection of shotguns(field or sporting) by far the best selection on the island. Andy(owner) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Big shout out to Charlie as well, he was very patient and attentive when I had questions or I wanted to check a specific shotgun. Staff and gun selection are superb. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Period.

I went to a few of the gun shops in the area, and nobody had a good stock of options for firearms or ammo, except for this place. Very nice and helpful guys, didnt rush me out of the door, like some of the other stores did (South Shore Sportsman), didnt matter they had a good line outside. This is the only place Ill go for new firearms & ammo, dont even waste your time going to the other places, at least for the time being. Maybe when supplies returns to normal, the other places will be up to par.

This is definitely the best store of its kind on Long Island. The Sales staff are great - Charlie & Eddie are the absolute best. Patient, helpful and welcoming. Purchased two guns from them in the past two months - one used (great selection of hard to find used) and one new. The prices are very reasonable - generally better than their competitors and the selection of ammo is amazing, especially recently when no one has anything - Coliseum has a solid inventory. And they are easy on first time buyers.There is NO attitude in this store from the staff. Highly recommend them.

I was pleasantly surprised at Coliseum GUN Traders Ltd. when purchasing a Remington shotgun. After checking local prices on my prospective purchase, I found they had the lowest price. Dicks had a low price advertised, but refused to honor it when I got to the store. Coliseum had the lowest price!

Bought a used gun September of 2020, was broken and waited until July 2021 to repair. Seems understaffed

From the second I walked into the store I was treated very unprofessionally, The store had more staff then customer and after half an hour of standing around I still didnt get any acknowledgment what I did get is a rude cashier ask we to not touch the boxes of ammo when I was looking for some ammunition, while another customer was rummaging through ammo right in front of him. After about 45 minutes of the employees staring at me like I am an animal I decided to take my business elsewhere I guess my money is no good in this store. The next store I went to sure did appreciated the $1000 I ended up spending there. If you end up going into this shop dont say I didnt warn you

I had a great experience at Coliseum Gun Traders yesterday. I called and spoke to Gary, asking if they had a Kimber K6s (DASA) 2 .357 Magnum. It wasnt in the display case so he asked if he could call me back after he checked the inventory, which he did less than 10 min later. They in fact did have exactly what I was looking for and he set it aside for me. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by Tom, who was aware that I had called and retrieved the revolver for me. Tom was incredibly professional and patiently helped me through my entire visit. He showed me several different pistols which I asked to see, and discussed the pros and cons of each one. I ended up purchasing the original Kimber and he made the entire process forthright and pleasant. My wife came along with me and was looking at some small, concealable revolvers. Tom showed her a Ruger LCR .38 which she really liked and we purchased that as well!If youre in the market for a firearm or any related accessories, I highly recommend Coliseum Gun Traders. I went in looking for a Rossi rs22 . Its MSRP 100$ to 130$ but they have it at over 300$ .A lot of there low end rifle are double the price . Why dont they do fare market value with the msrp.

Thanks to Tom for being patient and attentive to me and to my husband who came here for the first time buying our first home defense gun. He showed us the rifles and shotguns we are interested in and answered our questions well. We will surely be back to purchase our next rifle and ammo. My cousin and I came here to purchase a rifle and some ammunition, however we had a very disappointing experience. The customer service was God awful. No one asked us if we needed help or to wait one moment while they finished with the other customers. They appeared to be fully staffed with a few customers yet no one bothered to ask us if we had any questions or needed help. We were barked at for touching a box of ammo in order to read the description on the shelf even though there were other customers doing the same. We ended up spending close to a thousand dollars at another location that actually appreciated our business. If you want poor customer service and rude employees than try your luck with this place. Otherwise there are far better options.

So far this shop have the best gun selection on the island. Purchased my Tikka before pandemic and Kevin did great job helping me. He sold me shotgun afterwards. I would say hes the best salesman in the sore. With pandemic this store is packed and long waiting lines are very common. With pandemic most of the gun shops are packed and salespeople are under lot of pressure and some of them cranky so prepare to be patient. Overall if you are looking for the gun which is hard to find Coliseum will have it for sure.

I recently went into the store to do a weapon transfer and to purchase ammunition, I was immediately greeted by Kevin. It was a line outside which is expected during this pandemic, the workers try to work as fast as they can knowing the circumstances, Louis who took care of me was not only professional but funny and made me feel very comfortable, reading the reviews prior had me skeptical, needless to say these guys were really a pleasure, everyone has there moments, I had a very good experience here, I’m still laughing from their humor. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I didn’t even buy a gun from these guys, I ordered one from a shop in Pennsylvania and had it shipped there. It didn’t seem to matter to them, they still treated me like I was their best customer when I picked it up. I did spend some money on some extras and ammo since they had what I needed. They haven’t seen the last of me. Just wish they had the gun I wanted when I bought it so I wouldn’t have had to buy it from someone else.

Recently bought a Mossberg 500 from Coliseum and was so happy and loved the staff. Brought my brother in to look around and he ended up leaving with a ruger .22. Tom was the gentleman that helped us and he was very knowledgeable and was more than happy to explain every detail we needed to know. I will not be spending my money on guns or ammo anywhere else but this place. If it is your first time going to Coliseum ask for Tom highly recommended!!

I wrote out a long explanation as to why you should avoid this place but Ill just leave it at the fact that there are way better and more accommodating places in the area. Some of the staff here are beyond lazy and wouldnt even consider looking up simple inventory or plead ignorant when the items were nearby and accessible to them but not the customer.

Unprofessional & rude, its a shame when customers wait more than 3 hours and get screamed at for trying to ask a question.This is directly to the manager, Kevin, you dont have to worry about not selling me a gun which is what you threatened to a group of us. I waited 1.5 hours, spoke to you and came back to wait 3 hours today, I ONLY WANTED AMMO. You passed out 7-10 courtesy cards but there were at least 20 customers who waited at least 3 hours that you ignored, that isnt fair. A few of us waited to ask if you had extra cards for all the customers who waited, we all waited faithfully because we wanted to be YOUR customer but trust & believe we discussed trying other dealers while we waited outside.You are NOT the only ammo dealer in town. I understand this is a pandemic, a 2nd rush on guns, I am sure that you & your sales clerks are all tired and frustrated but if customers can be patient & wait the least you can do is be patient & speak to us all respectfully. Your behavior was uncalled for.I went to another dealer where they have enough sense to take ammunition customers separately. I was in & finished in 10 minutes. You lost a customer today, you probably dont care but if you had any respect for your customers you would learn to treat them ALL as fairly as possible.

I’m a NYC resident that was looking for a Glock 45 MOS in this “pandemic” and had a period of 2 months to buy something after going back and forth with the 2 shops I’ve delt with in the past which are DF Brothers in Brooklyn & South Shore Sportsman in LI and not being able to find what I wanted because they didn’t have it and didn’t know when they were going to have it nevertheless ammo. I finally decided to look elsewhere and when I came a cross this shop and I was not only shocked they had the pistol I was looking for but ammo as well. The whole process went smooth dealing with Gary. I will be coming back here for future purchases. My only issue was that I felt the price on the pistol was a bit elevated and the price on the ammo was more than double(which is everywhere right now)

Great shop, Ive bought most of my guns from here and have brought my friends to buy theirs from here as well. All the guys working here are cool and very knowledgeable, couldnt recommend a better shop on the island.

Been shopping here for years got my first pistol from Andy a long time a go (back in the late 90s). If your looking for a hard to find older new old stock check them out you may get a better price then you think. I have always found their prices on “New Old Stock” to be fair and some time much lower then expected. And don’t get me started on selection I would almost say the largest around. Personally if it’s a hard gun to find or limit edition I always give them a call first as I know Andy will have at least two in stock or on order. What people say maybe true at times about prices but it take a lot to do Business on Long Island, and have a great selection at the same time so you have to give them a little bit of credit and a little Latitude.

I had a very bad experience with CGT. I was told over the phone by one of the staffers that private individuals can ship out of state shot guns to CGT if they provided drivers license which I provided. I visited them the next day, and they arranged the FFL transfer to the individual by email. When the gun arrived they changed their story and said they can only accept shipment from authorized FFL dealers, and they sent the gun back. Their ineptitude cost me an additional $70 to get the gun reshipped from a dealer. I will never recommend them.

I have never owned or shot a firearm before, but my wife and I decided to purchase a home defense weapon. After doing brief research I decided on a Mossberg Shockwave. I was on the fence on either a .20 or .12 gauge. Over the past weekend my wife and I went to the Coliseum Gun Traders, and was greeted by their salesperson Tom. Tom took his time to further educate us on the different gauges, and showed us various shot guns. Unfortunately they did not have the weapon we wanted in stock, but I made a mental note to check back in the near future.I continued to do my research and a few days later called two other local gun stores. Unlike Tom, they were abrupt and rude over the phone. But never the less, I practice good consumer habits and shopped around. So I went to one of those local stores to examine the fit and feel of the new firearm I wanted to purchase. Even though this store decided to price gouge, that wasnt my biggest disappointment. The salesman was curt and truly did not believe I would purchase a weapon. I immediately called the Coliseum Gun Traders and they also had the weapon I desired.As I entered the store, I asked for Tom. Thankfully he was working that day. I purchased a Mossberg .20 gauge Shockwave, with ammunition. I left knowning that I made an educated decision for my wife and I.I called Tom today to thank him for his professionalism, and advise him I would also like to purchase another weapon from him. I now plan on getting a longer .12 gauge shot gun.The moral of my story and post is, never judge a book by its cover and always treat your customers with respect. The Coliseum Gun Traders has now gained a lifetime customer. I also left a negative review on that other local gun stores webpage.

It has been a while since I have been in this store and decided to check them out today. I have bought two guns there over the years along with shooting supplies a number of times. There was an older guy that used to help me, he was pleasant and helpful. He would give me a fair deal...not a bargain but fair. Today after looking at the guns for a bit someone offered assistance. I knew what I wanted and had cash in hand hoping to make the purchase. She wasnt rude at first, nor really pleasant, I asked if she had the gun I wanted and she said probably did upstairs. They did, so after checking it out, I asked her what the price was. At this point packing the gun up and not really seeming to care about me buying it told me $370. When I asked her if there was any room on the price she snickered gave me a look like how dare you ask...and told me NO. This gun regularly sells for $268-$289 at other stores online. Full retail is $369. All the gun prices were listed at or slightly above full MSRP. I got the same gun for $55 dollars less at another store without asking or negotiating. Not as cheap as online but nevertheless a fair price. I will not go there again.

Just a heads up, this honest and truthful review of my experience at Coliseum Gun Traders on February 28, 2019 was removed from the review section of their website within hours of the post. I would give negative stars if I could.I rarely have had a good experience at Coliseum and yesterday was the last straw. I will NEVER NEVER shop there again and for those thinking of going to Coliseum, I have always found their prices to be on the high side. I walked in behind another gentlemen. Their was one available staff behind the counter and another hanging rifle cases on a rack. The gentlemen ahead of me was picking up his purchase. So I waited. No big deal. After several minutes of waiting, the counter person called the individual stocking the rifle cases (now referred to as stock clerk) to come up and assist. Said stock clerk witnessed my entrance into the store, so he knew I was there from the start. You would think he would have been smart enough to stop shelving rifle cases and help a patron of the store, but he was not. The stock clerk ignored the counter mans request. I still waited. Another customer came into the store and is now waiting behind me. I waited further, and the counter person AGAIN called for the employee stocking rifle cases to come up and assist. This time the stock clerk came up to the counter and was instructed to help out with the customers as we had been waiting and he was still helping out the customer with his gun pickup.THE STOCK CLERKS RESPONSE WAS THAT THE COUNTER PERSON COULD HELP THE WAITING CUSTOMERS AFTER HE WAS FINISHED WITH THE ONE HE WAS HELPING AS WE WOULD STILL BE THERE!The stock clerk, than proceeded to take a phone call, look through some paperwork and then started to open a box of merchandise. Well, that was all I had to hear and witness. I left after waiting approximately 15 minutes and stating my peace why I would never spend another penny at Coliseum. The original counter person apologized, the stock clerk defended his actions of ignoring customers who took the time to come to the store and shop, claiming he had to log in a rifle. Obviously, the stock clerk knows little to nothing of customer service, or is just too arrogant to care. He clearly wasnt smart enough to take the rifle he was so concerned about logging in, and place it behind the counter and then help patrons who took the time to shop in the store. My last gun purchase was over $4,000. Coliseum had the same weapon - I did not buy from Coliseum based upon the staffs past arrogance. Here is a tip for Coliseum, - people generally spend their money where they are appreciated and the people treat them with respect. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a firearm or ammo to frequent Bensons Gun shop. Always a pleasant experience and fair prices.

Has a terrific selection of many weapons and ammo to choose from. The Guns are ALL reasonable priced, advice is totally free and great! Kimber was having a sale of the Custom 2 .45 at the coliseum gun trader and They charged me regular price and not the sales price. After realizing what they did hours later I came back to the shop and they told my they would only give me store credit and not a refund on the remaining balance. since I would never ever come back to this store again I ended up just buying another hand gun with the remaining balance on top of that I had to put down more money. Take your business somewhere else that will see you as a Customer and not just a sale

Nice selection.Guns are reasonably priced. Great guys there who helped me pick my first gun. Very pleased with my Glock 19. If you are a beginner like my self or an expert shooter these are the guys to see. They answer all questions with no hesitation. I will be back there soon

Ive been doing business with Coliseum Gun Traders for a little over 2 years (ever since I obtained my pistol permit). They have a really great selection of firearms -- their display counter is set up so that it is very easy to see everything -- and their prices are very competitive Their ammo is similarly displayed in a very customer-friendly manner and is reasonably priced. They also have good deals on bulk and range ammo. Ive purchased several pistols and revolvers from Coliseum and couldnt be happier. The staff is very friendly and willing to help and answer questions, which is not always the case when you go into a gun shop. Theres no intimidation factor here. I highly recommend Coliseum Gun Traders.

Pretty good selection of guns, especially shotguns. But the people who work there all seem to be older men and women who dont really care about the customer. But since its one of the only games in town, they can basically do what they want. On 3/1, I saw them selling 10-round AR-15 mags for $30.00 apiece, which is criminal.

I have known Andy and his staff for a long long time, some have moved on and some have retired.The staff have been friendly and helpful each time I go there with my friends and family. The store can get crowded esp in the summer and fall. Also, They have a great selection and can order items if they dont have it in stock. :)

I bought my first handgun here last week. I was a bit skeptical because a gun store can be intimidating especially when you dont know much about what your looking to purchase. When I entered the store I was greeted by a few of the employees, as it was busy at the moment. I waited about 5 minutes or so and was helped by Jean. She made me feel extremely comfortable and took the time to answer every question I had in great detail. She showed me multiple guns and options. I must have spent about an hour with her. Extremely helpful and patient. When I finally purchased the handgun she threw in a few extras for free. I definitely recommend this place to everyone, great people here, fair prices. I will be back very soon to purchase another firearm.

Im up dating my response to not be to harsh Coliseum guntraders. They have a polite staff and limited selection of guns for civilians. They have shotguns, handguns, bolt action, and semi automatic rifles. But they only sell Ar15 to LEOS and they dont sell the ny safe act variant to civilians. Start selling those or fixed mag and youll get 5 stars. overall Coliseum is doing a service for gun owners that is much needed in a time when they are trying take our 2nd amendment rights away

I have to say that if you want something they either have it in stock, can order it with quick delivery, or will let you know if a product is unavailable at the present with approximate time to check back. I dont care about the attitudes of shop salespeople. I go in knowing what I need or want... and when I need or want something, I can count on CGT to come through. Bought a pistol from them that the manufacturer says comes with 3 mags. They provided only two. Before leaving the store, I requested the 3rd. At first gave me a hard time, and then they provided a cheap substitute for the manufacturers mag. Still looking for a reliable gunshop in this area.

Purchased a rifle and scope last year and scope was mounted incorrectly. Kevin the manager told me he would fix the mistake for free but charged me $70 for the scope rings which they stripped!! Will be disputing this with cc company and BBB. Get with it Coliseum Gun Traders! You guys are a mess!I purchsed the gun and scope for a family member who was 10 in 2014. When i stated the sight was crooked, your staff told me I was holding the gun wrong. The gun was put in a safe a never shot until this year. Your staff verified the scope wasnt level. Kevin said he would fix it in good faith. You charged me $70 for scope rings?? That is bad business! I gave you another gun to scope as well. Not looking to get anything over on you guys. You should have not charged me for the scope rings. Took you guys a month to do the work and I had to call you to see if it was complete! Absolutely fustrating!

This was my first experience visiting Coliseum. So how did it go? Great!!!!! Paul and the rest of the team were all gentlemen. They held my gun for a full week (Henry H010AW - .45-70 AW) because I was sick and could not pick it up sooner, keep in mind that this is a hard to find gun and they easily could have sold it to someone else but did not. The price was fair, the staff friendly and helpful and had it Not been so close to closing time, I happily would have spent a few hours speaking with the staff and doing more shopping. I highly recommend this store and look forward to making my next purchase there. Thanks Coliseum, you guys get an A+

In EVERY WEEK.Sometimes just to say hello. This is the most knowledgeable, friendly group of folks ever to run a gun shop (or any other shop for that matter). They always find the time to answer your questions and have all the answers and the most stock on hand guns and rifles of any shop on long Island. Ammo is always available here even when you cant find it anywhere else and prices are competitive.I have bought and sold guns here and find them to be honest and fair on trades and very competitive on new gun purchases. In addition, they can fix anything they sell or will send it back to the manufacturer for you. So why go elsewhere? To the guys who left bad reviews I say you must have been having a very bad day. Andy and Jean and the crew are TOPS.

Similar experience as Joe about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. I was in the market for a NY legal ar, the young man did not seem interested in helping me, gave nearly no information or help. Not everyone who goes to a store has alot of experience. I ended up 4 days later buying an AR from the camp shop in Huntington, thet went through every detail of my purchase, how to break down, clean taking apart the entire gun and showing me how to put it back together. Gave me advice on safety, how to transport and ranges.

They got it all, from a super cool staff, to a crazy inventory to select from, felt right at home with their great customer service. I left saying Ill be back for more.

Ive bought a 10/22 and a Remington 700 here and both times have been positive experiences.

Super expensive. Not the friendliest employees. They had a used ruger 10/22 for 275 dollars. So theyre selling a used ruger 10/22 for more than a new one goes for??? I bought a used ruger 10/22 from hunter essentials in Albertson for 175 bucks. Do not shop at coliseum guns. Might as well throw your money in the trash. Not to mention the other ridiculous priced items they have, like 200 dollar knives, 100 dollar flashlights, 3,000 dollar 1911 pistols. My father bought a nice used 1911 pistol for 350 dollars.

My first time in there, I bought a mossberg 500, which most people know is not a cheap firearm.. I immediately went with my Dad to fire the gun, and click the gun dry fired.. I checked to see if there was a shell in the chamber and there was. I ejected the shell, racked a new one, and click again another failure to fire.. After this happening about 4 to 5 times i knew there was definitely something wrong with the gun, so 25 minutes after I bought the gun I brought it back with an explanation as to what was wrong with it, and the older woman who sold it to me acted as if she didnt even know me, nor want to know me.. All she wanted to do was sell me the gun, and than after that just get rid of me.. The way she acted was wrong, and because of that nasty old woman, i will never spend my money there again.

I recently asked for a price of .22 lr ruger rimfire rifle which is $400 on the internet i asked how much would the ffl transfer fee be. the guy on the phone rudely told me YOU ARE GONNA BUY THE GUN FROM ME FOR $410. I hung up the phone and was like these people have some nerve i am not buying anything from these guys. internet is the way to go pay the ffl fee its way cheaper than these over priced mom and pop gun stores. now i just use them for information and to sample the guns they have in store before i buy them on the internet.WELL SINCE YOU WANT TO GO THERE MR OWNER THERE THIS THING CALLED COURTESY, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROPER BUSINESS ETHICS WHICH YOUR STORE HAS NONE OF. NOW I SEE YOU PEOPLE ARE IN DENIAL OF YOUR MISTREATMENT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.
