Food has always been good but prices could be better. But I guess with everything thats going on they have to keep up. God bless & hope to see you all in the future.
I love Chockdee. We have been going here since 2004. They have a great selection with delicious food at reasonableprices. The staff are always helpful. I highly recommend.
Great little Asian market. My Filipino wife shops here anytime she needs any special Asian ingredients that she cant find at HEB. Very friendly and helpful staff.
My neighbor brought me hear, fresh vegetables look good. Love there Asian BBQ marinate it has a little sweet taste this is a Great Asian stop especially to make plate hot from there buffet line. When ordering can do by pound it will be worth it.Get extra if you dont want to share.........π―β€
Food is always good. The snacks in the store are awesome too.
Great place. I go here roughly once a week for various things. The prices are great, the owner is nice, it has a great selection of groceries and snacks, even things outside of the Philippines. Definitely a go to. I wish they labeled the prices more often, but itβs not like they ridiculously overcharge for things, so itβs not that big of a deal.
Wish I had asked for a taste test before I ordered. Spent $40 just to throw it all away. All I can say is yuck! Love the grocery store but food is over priced for quality and taste.
Love this place, Me and my wife come here to get things we cant get at HEB. My wife loves their little restraint inside and my kid loves running around looking at all the snacks. Try it, it just amazeballs.
This was only the second time I have ever tried Filipino food, and it was a lot better than the last place I tried. The weekday lunch buffet is bountiful and comes in right at $8 (this includes a bottled water). They have other drink choices, but theyβre not included in the price. There are plenty of options to choose from on the buffet, and they keep it stocked up, even though they get a very busy crowd during the week. The βFiestaβ Saturday & Sunday buffet is $11 but I was told it had even MORE options available! They have something for everyone: pork, beef, chicken, fish, plenty of vegetarian dishes, and a good selection of Filipino desserts. The items on the buffet arenβt labeled as to what each item is, so be aware of that if you are unfamiliar with this cuisine. I tried everything on the buffet (except the fish) and didnβt find a single item that I didnβt enjoy. Not only do they have a wonderful buffet, itβs also an oriental market with plenty of imported items to choose from. So take some time and stroll through the market while youβre there.TIP: Sign at the register says minimum $10 order for credit cards, but that only applies to the market items, so donβt worry, you can use your credit card for the $8 buffet. They do fill this place up, so get there early. My pics donβt look like they get crowded, but I took those when I got there around 11am. The place was packed by the time I left. You have been warned. ;-)
What a little gem; they have all sorts of Asian snacks, seasonings, sauces, and stuff to make your food taste authentic. Even some veggies! I always have a great talk with the store cashiers and they even have pinoy food in the back. I love Asian culture and have been to 6 countries there; we really sleep on Asia when there are so many differently beautiful cultures and flavors to enjoy. Support your local Asian market and get out the βethnicβ section at Walmart! π
The service was great but I didnt really find what I wanted. I wanted more variety relating to snacks. All in all I still recommend this place to others.
Great selection of groceries, but hardly anything had marked prices. The items I bought were reasonably priced but I would have liked to know how much they were when I was browsing and not find out at the checkout counter.
Was disappointed that there was no more buffet, but the grocery is still awesome (great selection & very reasonable prices!) and the cooked food to go is yummy.
Wife enjoys food there. Price is reasonable. Buffet style or pick what you want.
Love this little store, Owner is So Nice!!
Havent tried the hot food, but love the grocery store and the pre packaged desserts they have
Great food and lots of filipino groceries but bathrooms are closed
Always friendly ppl and fast service
Its okay Filipino food. There pinakbet could do without the pork. The pancit was really good. The karekare was more like beef stew. That was my biggest disappointment.
Good food great taste
Bought A LOT of to go food! I had to pay for every single spoon??
Always good food and smiling faces. Cant wait til the buffet opens again. Be brave, eat the dinaguan!π₯
I love this place and their fresh baked items! Plus they have let lechon, the roast Pig which is absolutely fantastic! You have to get there mid-morning for their baked rolls oh, you will not be disappointed!
One of the owners ( male) was extremely rude.I went in bought the fried chicken on the 25th May, it was $4.99.Today he marked it up to $5.99,and proceeded to serve me the chicken with a fork and ungloved hands.I called to complain and he hung up on me.He is a very pompous arrongant man.
Good filipino food. You cant dine in at the moment but you can still look at the buffet and get what you want. They sell more than just food.
Great produce reasonably priced grocery items and the best Filipino Food in the entire city of San Antonio. Family operated, and friendly workers, hard-working husband and wife always want to please the costumers. Hope this pandemic will be over soon, I really miss their dine-in atmosphere. And their buffet is the best in town.
Small store not alot of variety, nice to get some items like noodles to cook.
Best fried chicken in town. Great Filipino food.
They had all our Filipino favorites, havent been able to find anywhere else.
One of my first few times going, but I loved it!
Great place go there alot to get stuff cannot get anywhere else. Recommend for sure to others.
With covid it is take out only. They do have a hot table to select from. Everyone was very polite and willing to explain the different types of dishes they offered. Lumpia and Lechen were amazing.
Best Filipino restaurant/grocery store in the San Antonio area. The owners are super nice and sweet. Fried chicken is the best. You can order to go from the buffet or call ahead to order fresh Trays for parties. They got lumpia, adobo, pancit. Their fried fish pompano or red snapper is amazing, highly recommend it.
Needs to be more organized. Very messy place. Buffet is not bad.
Their drink selection is not what it used to. Used to be able to buy Thai tea in the coolers but now have to go all the way to windcrest to buy what I need. I recommend the Vietnam Market or the Asian Supermarket if you are looking for a better selection.
The workers are super helpful and nice!! They have a great selection and great prices!!! The food at the buffet is so fresh and good every time :)
A little smaller than some of the other markets that I know, but still a nice place.
Good food nice ppl cant go worng
What a cool experience! Im excited to go back and get more items to make delicious food at home βΊοΈ
We came there at 5 pmtoday (08/06/21) and they said no buffet
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the employees are so warm and friendly.
The best Asian market in Universal City. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of fresh Asian vegetables, snacks and seasonings. Their in-house food is delicious and reasonably priced with very generous portions. I have been going there for many years and know the owners. Serving the public with the best stuff is their commitment.
The people who work there are so nice! Not only is it a store but you can eat there aswell! They serve food, its a 2 in 1.Its a great place and more people should go there.
Great place for lumpia and the lechon is oh so good.
I love this store, the ready made Filipino dishes are so good. I wish we live closer to this store cuz I will have get food whenever I want it. siopao, ensaymada, vegetable lumpia, pork dinugaan, kimbap and pinakbet are my favorite so far. I will come back here and try more of their of food.
Always several food items (price) is awesome...since umpting years..currently... They have done much better. Everyone are very courteous and upon request, they will go all the way to ensure your needs and gastronomically met . Fantastic Chockdeeπ
Great food selection and I love their shrimp vegetable lumpia! Their Puto and other filipino desserts are great. Once the pandemic is over I would highly recommend their weekend Buffet!
Love this place! Wonderful service and yummy lumpia priced the best from what I compared. Its reminds me of Lolas cooking, yummy for my tummy!!!!
Great people, kind, friendly and helpful. I am rarely in that area but when I get a chance I grab all the Asian goodies they make and sell.
Very nice store and restaurant/cafe. Found great snacks and a great meal. Very friendly staff. β€πβ€πβ€πβ€
I love this little store. I absolutely love to get all the chips and little desserts. Some flavors are really something to talk about. Found some Beef Kabob, Pizza Nachos, BBQ flavors that may turn your head lol.Go all the time! Just got back from there!!
So helpful!
Got the 84 piece lumpias and it was delicious!
Food had that filipino taste that is missing in other places...
The guy at the cashier was rude. Never coming back here again
Our favorite Asian market in San Antonio. Wide variety of Asian foods, drinks, snacks, ingredients, etc. Although quite small, store still packs a punch as far as delivering on product.
Loves the market super nice and friendly.
Had a good variety of things I needed plus they had prepared food to buy. Cashier was a little grumpy and charged extra for the small container of coconuts that goes with the cucinta (dessert) when taking more than one.
Delicous and feels like home
This is my first time at this place and ate here as well. Hereβs what to expect: they have small parking lot in front and along the side to the back; thereβs still street parking. As you walk in itβs an Asian market then in the back is food court. You can do take out or all you can eat. For all you can eat theyβll seat you, take your drink order and you pay when your done. Note there is 2 hr limit for buffet. The food is nothing fancy, itβs more like old fashion, simple comfort food. Great price for decent food.
Great Filipino food. The owner was very helpful, and friendly. We would highly recommend them!
My goodness. God bless Chock Dee. I couldnt get enough of that amazing, delicious, delightful, scrumptious, best Philippine cuisine Ive ever had. I mean, my taste buds were so confused and asked why?, we had never, walked into this place blessed by God himself. The food was exquisite. The service was just as good. The atmosphere was just right. I will definitely be a repeat customer for as long as they are around or its my time to go. I would highly recommend this wonderful place. Not to mention that the price was just right. Go visit and see for yourselves. Trust me, you wont regret it. Thank you Chock.Dee for such a pleasant experience.
Has a wide variety of Filipino foods. Very helpful service. Offer take out Filipino dishes.
Great little market. Had everything I needed to restock my pantry. The man up front was very helpful when I couldnt find something or had questions. I havent tried the restaurant yet but it looked and smelled great.
Great selection of Asian grocery. The Filipino food is available for take out. Its yummy. Good to see COVID19 protocol being dollowed.
It has some basic Asian store stuff, nothing you couldnt find in other Asian stores, even the Filipino stuffs. A little expensive for some things. The baked products are really not that great of quality, especially for the price. The buffet though is really good, especially when the sit down area was open. It was good value for the food. Sometimes the owner can be a little brash, but overall not a bad guy.
Litteraly Goatafied
Food was great
Always a great place to shop for Asian food. Fresh veggies are awesome and the owner is so helpful
π
Great tasting and authentic Filipono food! Awesome service. Even my kids who are born and raised here love the menu items. Highly recommended!
Love the place, sweet people good food
We have been coming to MY Chockdee for over 18 years. The best Filipino buffet in town. Unfortunately due to COVID, its all take out. The grocery part is great too...you can find plenty of options there. The fresh baked goods are spot on....LOVE the cheese bread, pandesal and emsaymadas!!!!
Been coming to this place for years now and its gotten better over time. Weekends are of course the busiest, location is out of our way but worth the drive. The grocery store has a lot of different products worth checking out. They do offer to go plates! Just wish they had kept the restaurant part in the actual restaurant area and not in the grocery section.
Love this store/ restaurant. Great Asian foods and fruit.
OMG!! The pancit and Lumpia are incredibly delicious!!! I will definitely be ordering again! This is now one of my official cheat meals! Yummy!! The great customer service made my experience 10 times better!!! andThe grocery section has everything!!
This is the BEST Asian store if your cooking anything Asian of all different types. He has all the spices and ingredients. Even vegetables. Im never disappointed when Im looking for the right ingredients.
Good variety. The buffet line isnt arranged very clearly and the sign doesnt explain the ordering process well. Kind of confusing. Other than that they have some hard to find items.
If Chokdee wasnt far from I live, Ill probably be coming here often. Love the food, all that I tasted so far from the buffet taste great! And there were good # to choose from. Customer service was also good, and the grocery have lots of choices as well. Probably what they only need to do better at is the look of the place so it could be more appealing to the eyes. Thats all! Oh and also please put a diaper changing table that would be great! Thanks.
Always great customer service and great quality food
The curry is delicious. Well actually all their food is delicious. This is also a grocery store so you can pick up some yummy food to go as well. They do sell lumpia to go. People were picking up platters for super bowl. Also they have spanish speaking employees πππ»
Great selection of products in store and delicious Asian food in small take-out restaurant.
Filipino buffet. Came here as a recommendation by a coworker. The food was very delicious. It was a cafeteria like atmosphere within a grocery store. Very different, but may come back when craving dinuguan because I dont have the time to make it myself.
Best asia mart
Very tasty Filipino food. Buffet is $7.99 on the week days and $10.99 on the weekends. Weekends have a lot more choices. Definitely worth the money. Staff there are pretty friendly. You can also shop for groceries in their shopping area after eating. Lots of Asian foods and spices.
