Stopped in for brunch one Saturday morning with some friends while visiting town. The food was certainly good but the bartender and drinks were what really made the experience! One of the best Irish coffees Ive had, and a very friendly and helpful bartender. He was awesome! They got fairly slammed around 11-noon so the limited staff (including our bartender/server) were really busy. Yet he continued checking on us frequently and was very attentive. He also made great recommendations. Check them out!
This place is great! It’s retro style lighting, tables, and more is great for taking the whole family. The menu may be small but it makes up for that in pure deliciousness! One of the best restaurants I’ve been in a while, I suggest having the “Bacon Bacon Pancakes”.
Overall a pretty good experience. The diner and atmosphere were wonderful; filled with bright blue colors and unique sitting areas. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries that turned out to be cooked just right! My only concern was the service and the little amount of ketchup. The employees treated my friends and me with little respect and were not very friendly. And, when we asked for ketchup we got a container that was almost empty. I even went up to the counter for more and none of the containers were full. But, for the most part, I would recommend going!
Amazing place! Everything was perfection...the atmosphere, the coffee, the breakfast platter was delicious! The staff was wonderful! Oh! And dont hesitate to try the lemon raspberry dessert.. its more than worth it!
Struggling with low staff, which effected our visit, but door was still delish and the service was solid. Breakfast tacos were yummy. Based on just one visit, Id def go back.
Wonderful space, with a wall of peacock art. Good food and great service.
We both ordered the Boulevard Burger (with and without cheese). Really good flavor throughout. Daughter enjoyed the milkshake as well. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall good experience!
Amazing food! All freshly made, had breakfast with my family and we all had a great time. Servers were super friendly and kind, plus the pricing was fantastic for what you get. I would definitely recommend the Lemon-Blueberry pancakes, they were delicious!
Wish I could give this place 10 stars. We went this past Wednesday (10/6)around 11 ish. Was our first time here. I loved it. The food was delicious! The breakfast potatoes were ro die for. The staff was exceptional, very friendly. Highly recommended.
Great food, amazing service, all for a great price!
It was one of the best Diners Ive been 2. The food was great and the onion rings r super good as well.
The Turkey Club was good and the wife had Southwest Slinger and said it was also pretty good. Moderate pricing and came out really fast as it was not busy.
The antique diner appearance is impeccable. Their selection of food is simple, and very well done. Wouldnt hesitate to come here again, especially for breakfast.
My family and I were visiting St. Louis from Georgia. Peacock Diner was AWESOME! Not only did our service attendant, Tyler, provide us with superior service but the food was also fantastic. I ordered a turkey club sandwich on toasted marble rye bread with seasoned fries. To drink I had a cranberry/pineapple juice (mixed) and a water. My sandwich tasted as delicious as it looked. The diner was super clean, including the bathroom. I would definitely recommend the Peacock Diner.
Lets start with service- it was Top Notch!! Blueberry lemon curd pancakes and The Country Slinger- washed down with a great cup of coffee! Start your morning at the Peacock and your one step in the direction of an amazing day!
Really good breakfast tacos and the country slinger was great.
Excellent food. Amazing atmosphere. I was blown away. Get up there for brunch
Super cute place. Food was delish.
The Diner is a seat yourself, there were no clean tables or booths available. So we set at bar until booths were cleaned. Waiters were very busy,so we stopped several to make them aware of dirty tables. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Our waiter Ignacious was nice and accurate. Nacho were good i would recommend if you are in the Loop and and want a bite to eat. Stop by!
Fun atmosphere, very good food. 👍
Since two starts means I disliked it and three means it was okay. The waitress was not bad, took sort of a while to come ask for our order but the food didnt take too long. I got a patty melt, the photo is half of it. It was supposed to be a double patty, but this looked like it was half and half in each slice for $8. I asked the waitress and she said thats the way they make it there. My friend got a shake and it came in this little cup with about a fourth of whipped cream. Not worth the time or the money. No wonder the place was empty when we went.
My husband and I read about the Peacock Diner in an article about unique places to try in St. Louis so we decided to head on over and try it out. We were in St. Louis for the weekend, so we went on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Our waitress was great, and the food was fast. We even ordered a fun 50 cent appetizer to get our meal started. It was nothing more than a triscuit, cheez whiz, and an olive (which is exactly how it was described in the menu), but I thought it was a cute/funny thing to have on the menu. It felt like a throw back. The diner looks vintage, and the decor is fun. Our breakfast foods were all delicious and the portions were more than I could finish. We really liked the place.Edit: We tried the Peacock Loop Diner last year for a great breakfast, so we decided to give lunch a try this time around. I ordered the corn dog and I honestly didnt like it but its probably just because I have an endearment for plain old corn dogs and this was a much more fancy dog. The hot dog was super firm and tasted closer to bratwurst to me. Im sure many people would prefer this, but it wasnt for me. The fries were great, and so was the super cheesy mac-n-cheese. My husband really enjoyed his double cheeseburger immensely. Service was fast and friendly! I really hated the fact that we had to drink from paper straws. They were completely soggy within minutes and made my water taste like paper. Im definitely not a fan. Overall, we had a great experience though.
Wonderful food, fantastic service. Fun setting and decor. Play some pinball and skeeball while you’re there!
First time here, very clean, bathroom was clean, workers was nice, took long to order but food was good
This is my least favorite eatery on the Loop. I dont care for the menu items, and the execution is often not done well. The few times I have eaten here, it was because there was a 45 minute wait at every other restaurant nearby. It relies far too much on the peacock theme to be clever rather than the food.
Great food definitely trynthe summer special Strawberry Pecan French Toast, delicious. Great customer service.
Nice place and decor. Food was pretty good but not epic.
Food was decent. It was just an ok experience. Pretty limited menu. Good for a quick bite.
Go for the Insta opportunities and the milkshakes! The best thing about this place is the design and overall visual aesthetic. It’s a beautiful location.Unfortunately nothing else was as superb. Chicken N Waffles looked depressed when they brought it. The eggs Benedict was pretty good though!Service was also not so good, there was only one server taking care of way too many people so he was a bit short and unwilling to help.
Good food, but they need more staff to keep up with the influx of people all the time. love the decor
Midcentury throwback. Cute atmosphere and the food was good as well. Two bars; one for alcohol and the other for the soda jerk. Can you call a place with 3 screens that serves ice cream floats a sports bar? Serves breakfast all day; very fluffy scrambled eggs and they have turkey sausage! The lunch menu looked good as well. Attentive pleasant staff. Def will return
Its cute, but thats about it. We walked in, and a sign said seat yourself, so we sat at a booth that could fit 3kids and 3 adults. By the time a waiter got to us, (12min) we were ready to order, after taking our order he came back to inform us we need to move because that booth was reserved, we moved to a counter, no problem, then another waitress, who was unpleasant, proceeded to tell us we need to be moved again, which then we were upset about, and they told us to nevermind we could stay seated. Our drinks came out, I ordered coffee, which upon receiving, I was told it was lukewarm and asked if Id like him to brew a new pot, which he did. Food arrived, it was just ok. I would not go again, I guess thats why it was the only place that didnt have a wait.
Boulevard Burger was great and tasted fresh. Will definitely be there again.
Covid is an issue, so the food and drinks were served with plasticware. Service was ok. Food was nasty. Just bad. Tiny portions. Eggs were ordered over medium, came out crispy and rubbery. How did they even manage that? Potatoes were not impressive. And maybe 4 bites worth. Prices insane.
Customer service is great and the breakfast was good as usual
The service here is pretty bad. We sat at a dirty table (see photos) and we were promised that it would be cleaned, but it never was. Additionally, my friend ordered a Saint Louis Weather mixdrink that looked like muddy water. (see attached photo) The server told us Im a dainty 20 year old that doesnt know anything about alcohol. It sucks being a 20 year old alcoholic. To make things worse, the server didnt offer to remake the drink either due to him being a dainty 20 year old. To add insult to injury, we had to wait over 30 minutes to get out food, and our server didnt even come over to offer refills. We are still waiting for our checks after waiting 30 minutes for the check. I would rate this place negative stars if I theoretically could. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and I will never come back.
Great place for breakfast.
Stopped in on Saturday morning. Fast service, food was good.
Both managers on duty was rude and rushed us to order
Nice, off beat place. Happy Days style of dinner. Not bad..
Slow service and food just not so great. Super expensive too
Great family spot. We enjoyed burgers & fries with milkshakes. Played some skeeball & bubble hockey. Kids really thought it was a cool place. They enjoyed sitting at the color changing bar. Over all nice casual experience!
Took my sister out for a bite and really didnt have any place in mind. Strolled down the loop and the devote looked like fun. After all, how many restaurants in St. Louis have Skiball machines? Shrimp were good, but a bit small to be called jumbo. Toasted cheese ravioli was good, and to celebrate my new job, ice cream, very good. For the price, Id recommend you stop in for a meal before hitting the bars.
LOVE IT. I love how its supposed to look like an old diner
Great place to grab food in the Delmar Loop, late at night or after midnight. 24 hour spot. Food is always usual fast, fresh, and servers range from decent to friendly. But like places in the loop, it can be noisy, crowded, or not as clean due a lot of business. Overall it’s a good spot to hit up with friends or for a quick bite.
Oh my gosh I love this place! I know I havent gone here in a while though I miss this place. Their food is so great but the atmosphere is out of this world! I attended a birthday party here, very small but intimate. They have a booth that spins and when it turns around there is a TV with a PS4 that you can watch a movie or play video games (granted I havent been there in a while). Who would have thought of such an idea! AMAZING!I love their breakfast food, such a sweet spot any time of day. I love this place. If you want to throw a memorable event with friends, host it here! So retro and unique in the Loop. I love this place, diners are the BEST.
Kickass tacos
A great atmosphere to relax and eat some grub! Great food, great service and the cleanliness is outstanding! Love this place and will always return! Highly recommend the Chicken strips w/ fries! 😍
Bring cash if you eat! No credit cards accepted. Otherwise, the food was authentic diner-type food. If you like it, try the corned beef hash. It was delicious! Prices are good, all counter seating, and friendly cook.
Excellent Turkey club. I was very impressed. The seasoned skinny fries are awesome too. Friendly and concerned staff. Great place to stop in for a snack, little seats at the short bar for the kiddies.
The Diner provided a decisively meh experience. The decor is what attracts everyone here, and rightfully so. The retro styling goes a very long way with this one. The service was also rather good, especially considering I dined as part of the late night crowd. I dont want to say the food was bad, but it certainly could have been better, especially for the price. A lot of the food was heavily seasoned, almost to the point where we didnt want to eat it. Late night they do have mandatory 16% gratuity, which I dont necessarily mind, but I understand some of you will not be thrilled about that. I will be giving the Peacock another shot down the road.
This place is great. The food is great. The service is great. The decor in the diner is great. This place never closes. They have a juke box and a few games to play and its kid friendly. I love this place.
Where do I start?! I came in for a quick bite of breakfast around 1030am. Was gotten a water and menus with relative ease. Then I noticed the issuses. It was not busy by any means. The man near me was holding his money waiting to pay as the server at the counter continued to brick out wrong orders not to one customer but three, one after the next, as this is happening Im wondering...I ordered one egg(over easy) and wheat toast, what could go wrong. Well my on was brought out, and fifteen minutes went by and still no egg...one egg. One. Then finally 20 minutes AFTER ordering they show up, no utensils. So I sit, several minutes. When I get my fork the egg was rubbery as well as cold, and the toast burnt. Who cares about decor if you cant get any orders correct or serve not food hot. Horrible. I may be back but it might be quite some time.
Our bartender, David, was great!
I havent been here in awhile, and Im not sure why after such a pleasant experience. My server Katie was friendly and attentive. The food was hot and out quickly. This was a nice way to spend my Sunday morning. I will be back.
Biggest downfall in service. Less than attentive waitresses and waiters. No service with a smile. Food came rather quickly, but no originality. Tastes like something you would get at Dennys. Other than the atmosphere, you arent missing anything here that you could get at any other breakfast place.
I love visiting this place! The service is great. Good beer selection also. I always get the broccoli mac and cheese for some reason.
This place has a very vintage look and vibe, their music is fun to listen to and their food is moderately priced. I enjoy their shakes and their fries, but most of all I enjoy the atmosphere. This is a great place to hangout and talk with friends for not a whole lot of money. I also really enjoy playing board games here on occasion as it has nice big booths.
The place has a cool retro vibe but I feel the quality of the food has gone down a little. When it first opened it had the most amazing chicken and waffles, but they changed the chicken pieces and they seem cheaper and not as good as the ones I used to eat which had a crisper batter and seemed homemade, the new chicken fingers feel frozen bought:( I do suggest the breakfast final sandwich. That is still a winner!
Pretty good food and fairly solid service. Great fountain drinks just not a fan of paper straws. But Overall good!
Very good food and freshest fruit. The service was exceptional. The peacock displays are amazing. This was my first visit. I will be sure to return.
This place has great food if you get what you order. Saturday night around 7:30pm place was not busy at all. Server was pleasant. Ordered the posted special. Placed our order, about a half hour later server comes out and says theyre out of sauce and lettuce for special. No biggie. Order comes and burger was wrong. Sent it back the three an egg on it and sent the whole cold plate back out. Tried to eat it anyway, waited another 15 minutes for the side. Asked about burger being wrong guy says Ill check that out. Server comes back another 15 minutes later and says theyre remaking the whole burger. Everyone was already finished eating so we said we didnt want it. She replies theyre already making it sooo.... Needless to say we took the burger and left. Wont be back for a while. What happened to this place?
Although COVID19 has changed up some things, the food and service is excellent. Thank you for all youre doing.
Great ambiance. Loved the food. Not only can you get great diner fare, but they serve adult milkshakes. Located in the heart of the Delmar Loop, it offers a good view for people watching.
It took me 10 minutes to order and now, 10 minutes later, I have yet to even receive my drink. The hosts are not incredibly busy and are actively ignoring us. This has been in line with how downhill this establishment has gone over the last few years. Update. The drinks have arrived (after 15 min).
Typical Joe Edwards, spends so much money on the decor that there isnt enough money to properly train staff or get quality ingredients. My slinger was wayyy over seasoned. Gravy wasnt cooked long enough and tasted of raw flour. Chili wasnt cooked long enough and lacked any depth of flavor. Over easy eggs were brown and raw at the same time. And the sausage was just sad.
The service was good. The food was good (except for the vegetable soup. It was disgusting). Young crowd, but this would still be a good spot to take a significant other or a group of friends. It stays open later than the hours it says on Google.
