Decided to try a new place for an eye exam and glasses. Everyone here was incredibly helpful and friendly. The doctor was very knowledgeable with every question I asked and gave me some great advice for eye health. He has a fun demeanor that immediately makes you comfortable and relaxed. He even took the time to show me photos of my eyeball and point out areas of interest. It was fascinating and super fun! I spent probably 3 hours looking for the perfect frames (its a big decision) and they have so many great options!! All of the staff were accommodating and professional. I felt like they really cared to provide the best possible service. I am so glad I found this place!!!

I had a wonderful experience at Suburban Opticians. I was seen promptly at my appointment time and the assistance after my exam getting fitted for contacts and selecting a pair of glasses that would work for my sensitive nose bridge was outstanding. I didn’t feel rushed or pushed. If you’re looking for a great selection of eyeglass frames that are ultra lightweight, this is your dream optical shop. I’ve been going to this business for a number of years. Every single visit is consistent and professional courteous and kind. Just had an eye exam and the doctor was amazing. Smart and explained things in detail. The only place that I would go for anything related To my eyes. Great job everyone.

The staff is very to work with and helpful. They take the time to be sure your tests are accurate and you understand what is needed. They also work hard to assure your glasses fit correctly and work properly.

I enjoyed my visit to Suburban Optics. My exam went smoothly. It was more like a Q & A between myself and the Doctor. She answered my questions with patience. I did not feel like I was being rushed to get in and out.Mel was wonderful. She was very friendly. Ive been here before for my safety glasses but first time I purchased a pair of glasses. I will not go anywhere else from this point on.

Paul Chous is a wonderful optometrist; I wouldn’t dream of going to anyone else. I have a few issues with my eyes, and Paul is extremely thorough in both his exams and his dedication to solutions for me. He is also very thorough in his explanations of my issues. Consider this a rave review.

I am very lucky that I came across a Suburban Opticians back in the early 90s as it has and is a treasure for the Services and the people. Pam is welcoming and Debbie is a true Service oriented individual. She has the knowledge of style and putting forth the customers beauty and comfort in the forefront.

This shop is great! The doc was very thorough and took the time to answer all my questions (even my off-the-wall ones!). Staff was very helpful (and patient!) when picking out new frames. Bought both regular glasses and sunglasses, both of which seem high quality. Probably not the lowest priced glasses, so if you want cheap youd probably be better off sticking with Costco, Lenscrafters, et al. This was my first visit and my wife came along. Shes now switching from her current ophthalmologist/optician to Suburban!

Great, fast experience! I had to get prescription lenses put into frames I already had, and they took me in same day and were able to complete my glasses within an hour! They were also extremely thorough with making sure my glasses were in perfect shape! Being a new customer- and with every other optical business in Tacoma taking 2-3 weeks to complete glasses- I am highly appreciative and impressed with this company!

We live in Bellevue and travel all the way to UP just for these guys. They have the best selection is designer glasses, the best Drs, and THE BEST customer service. We will always come here!! See u next year guys

Loved this place! They have a huge selection of high end frames that they sell for half off when you get lenses. Our glasses were finished in less then 30 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and great to work with. My teenage daughter especially liked the selection of smaller frames.

Great experience. Optometrist was efficient and accurate; got me to 20/15 for the first time ever. Receptionist was following the Phase 2 CoViD19 requirements, explained what we were doing, helped with frames and was very amicable. A great neighborhood business that has been around for decades.

Im not a big reviewer and Im not sure where to start with this one, I simply feel something is off here.From start to finish my experience here was almost entirely one in frustration (and it isnt done yet). I will give the doctor I saw (E. Chous) a thumbs up for great bedside manner.1. The first time I went in for my first appointment it was 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence and many employees walked by.2. I finished my eye exam and chose glasses/ordered contacts which was for the most part a pleasant experience. However, it took a month and a half to get both of my glasses orders in (the first order was ordered incorrectly and had to be sent back out) and I had to make at least 3-4 phone calls to make that happen. They seemed baffled every time as to what happened to my order and wouldnt really tell me anything except that they would check into it. My contacts never got there. I understand COVID is a factor right now, but I had to reach out for everything and nothing was communicated to me. That isnt okay.To his credit, one gentleman, Sean I believe, when I called saying I was going out of town and needed my glasses, made me an assurance he would get to the bottom of the issue, get my order in, and he did. He was the one very proactive, transparent person I experienced there.3. I had paid all of the optician fees but not received a bill for the optometrist. This past week I did. However, the optometrist never billed my insurance and when I called they didnt have that information. The optometrist and optician present themselves as one and the same and never informed me of any need to provide information separately or I would have.The reviews on this place are great, so Im not sure what happened here. Hoping it was a fluke and that it isnt falling apart. For what I paid (the most I have ever paid for vision care or glasses) I would have expected better service.

The BEST place to get glasses. Designer frames, The best customer service, very helpful staff, high quality products. It is very worth the money you spend. If you want frames you are going to love, come here. They also do sunglasses, and contacts. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, I wouldnt go anywhere else by choice.

I just love going in to a business that is professional on every level. It gives me confidence that I’m gonna be taken care of. Everyone I came in contact with, not only seemed to genuinely love their work and share their expertise, but was so personable at the same time. I literally felt like I made some new friends when I left there. Like, l would hang out with these people. That’s how cool they were. Doctor Chous is amazing! She’s very thorough, and I never got the impression that her next appointment was pressing us to hurry. Loved her! Also Melissa, co-owner of the place, was great. I could tell she had my best interest at heart. Not just what was good, or profitable for her shop, but what was best for me. She’s funny too! These two ladies set the tone in the shop.Having been in business for many years, I can appreciate the importance of creating that kind of a culture inside those doors. To me, I don’t care if the high volume shops are a little less expensive, (and I’m not sure they are) it’s more than worth it for me to go someplace with this kind of professional, happy environment that instills great conference. Best optical shop in Tacoma, hands down. Ive bought glasses from several shops over the years and have never had such awesome, customized and careful service as I got from Suburban Opticians and Melissa Rodriguez. She listened well, was mindful of budget and offered honest advice and constructive options. My grandfather was an optometrist and ran his practice just like this. Its a rarity these days. Suburban definitely earned my loyalty today.
