Thank you to Darin and crew for their expertise in my garage door installation. The door is on a garage project. They normally do not work on doors of this size, however, this time an exception was made. It needed adjustments and fine tuning to operate correctly.The crew was methodical in their approach to this job. Their knowledge and patience was apparent. Plus, these were really nice guys!I am very picky about who can work on my projects. The next time we need service, repair or a purchase, we will use Overhead Door Company of Tacoma.

First of all, Jodi was very friendly and knowledgeable over the phone. Cory H. (technician) came on time, replaced the spring parts of our garage door in less than an hour. He was friendly and answer all my questions. They are also honest with their price and less expensive. They exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Overhead Door Company of Tacoma!

Rigo and team were absolutely fantastic with the installation of our new garage doors! Communication as the ordered doors needed to come from the factory was very good. Responded to my email questions appropriately and arrived when he said they were going to. Also, one of our windows was cracked when they installed. Part was ordered and installed in less than 2 weeks. Highly recommend and will most definitely use them again. Thanks Rigo!

Darren gave me an honest bid for adding a new garage door to my shop. Austin, the installer, arrived on time and was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and did a beautiful on the door and opener.

I had them install doors years ago and just recently contacted them to install the door openers. I spoke to Darren and he said he would come up to my place by Friday. He never called to confirm a day or time, or called me day of before he left and I notice their truck at my neighbors place so I quickly called the company to ask if that was them and the receptionist said yes. She told me Darren claimed he called me and I didnt answer but I had my phone right in front of me and it never rang and he didnt bother to leave a message or call for a second time to try and get a hold of me. She also said Darren told her he would not turn around and go back that I need to get someone else. So I did find another place who were not only better but less expensive by $200 per door. Seems like Darren could use some anger management classes if he gets bent out of shape so easily and drops a job like that, when it was his own fault for not calling me to begin with that morning or even day before he left. He could have also texted me and got the appointment confirmed. He wasnt even at the correct house. He was at my neighbors house. That all could have been avoided with a simple confirmation phone call.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE.All I wanted was to schedule to have my garage door serviced !1. The call opens up with an unrelated barrage of 3rd party soliciting. Medical care ... What???2. initial voice recording asks me to press #1 for English. Insulting as we do not live in Germany or Mexico. Its OK to ask to press #1 for Spanish, but not to speak in our native language3. The guy who finally answered was not polite. He also asked if Id like to listen to unrelated 3rd party offers. When I mentioned the above, he hung up on me.

Came out and replaced broken spring at first. The door didnt close just right so they came back to look again. They found some hinges that werent working well and replaced them as well as lubed all the functioning articulations. Wyatt and Mike did an awesome job and never charged for any additional labor even though they did more than what was initially wrong.Good courteous workers, very efficient and more than fair. I wish all the companies I worked with had the same perspective.

My experience is posative. I firstly called a very well known local door manufacturer and installer that has a showroom on Pacific Ave. Set an appointment but after 2 weeks no show or call. I then contacted Overhead Door. Had a estimator arrive quickly and my door installed the next week.Easy, smooth, and value priced.Interestingly the big local door company finally called me while the Overhead guys were installing my door. Now I got a good laugh at that.

I have used Overhead Door of Tacoma (division of VanCourt and Matthew, Inc.) several times. I manage 7 family owned rentals in the area. They have always done perfect work. You wont go wrong on getting the job done perfectly. My problem is with the technician who just did work at my residence who was an impersonal jerk from the moment he arrived at my door. Some examples follow. He was afraid of my 30 lb dog and wanted him locked away as I intended to do and was his right of course. But he grunted the directive to me without a please. He informed me that I was welcome to watch him and directed where I stand. Again, he was correct to care for my safety but the technicians should be taught better personal skills when informing folk that they can indeed watch on their own property. Of course the owner can watch. Try a please and thank you.There are many places listed online here that will do great work. I will always try one other than this place now because customer service is a differentiator.

Anthony replaced a springs on my garage door a couple months back. He was very polite and personable. He worked very efficiently. The quote matched the bill exactly. I recommend!

We had a spring break on our garage door. Called on Tuesday, and got a Wednesday appointment for service. They confirmed out appointment, and they were there right on time. Anthony, who did the work, was professional, was capable, and quick. He made a recommendation to replace the rollers with new versions, which we did. He also did some extra work that helped quiet down the operation. We are very pleased with the company and with the work that was done. Price seemed fair as well.

I called or met with 6 different companies about installing two new garage doors. Overhead Doors was the most affordable by a few hundred dollars. I am super impressed by the installation and quality.

I bought a garage door from Overhead doors in University Place, they loaded the door for me (with my help) and when I got them home all four doors had a crease in them from resting on the tail gate of my trailer. The problem is I specifically voiced concern and asked them if they would be ok resting on an edge like that. Both Matt and Scott (I Believe who are the owners) told me yes, no problem, they will be fine. Well they weren’t and the response I was given was, ”you must have hit one hell of a bump” and “you should have tied them down”. Where was this advice when THEY loaded me!The biggest issue I have is not a semantics, who’s liable, who’s not, I asked if they would sell me another set at cost. To which they responded that it’s “not their responsibility” and they “don’t let anything out of their shop without making money”Legality aside this business took ZERO responsibility for the loading of the panels and their assurance of the durability, loaded as such, yet felt perfectly fine about doubling their profit in selling me a replacement.Not a company I would ever do business with again.

I have had two garage doors installed with this company. The installation is fine. The problem has been the office clerks. I have always paid by bill, immediately. I have received calls from three different people saying i did not pay the second half of my bill. I have called back all three, to sayt i didnt realize that. I had given my charge card, please call me and i will take care of that. I did not receive any calls back. But within one week, i received a letter from a lawyer threatening a lawsuit. Good Grief. They did not even credit the first half of the payment to me, which had been paid prior to installation. I would suggest, you call a different door company. This one has terrible customer relations.

Cold weather makes it more important for safety reasons to have access to our garage. Austin responded quickly to our call and got us back in operation.

Very prompt and professional experience. Gave me a date and were on time. Installed a 3/4 hp belt drive opener that was near silent! Very happy.

My overhead garage door spring broke without warning late in the evening. twaang!! I could not lift the door to get my car out. I called in the morning and these people came within a couple of hours and fixed it. The cost was lower than I thought it would be and the service was quick and efficient. Thank you!

Went to Overhead Door to have a garage door repaired on rental house. They assured us they could provide a door panel that fit with the current door and came out to the house to measure and make sure. They ordered the door part which would take 2 weeks or so to arrive. When they came out to install it was the wrong part even though they came themselves to get the part numbers. They were supposed to call us at the time of service as the home owners which they did not and our renter who stayed home was told they would call her (not us) when the new one came in. We were not notified of this mistake. They finally got the new door part another 2 weeks gone by and when they came to install did not have the inserts to make the doors match because they planned on using the old inserts which were damaged (part of reason we were replacing). I was told they would be out the next day with the new inserts as well as the weather stripping they said they could replace at the same time but was not on the paperwork for the installer when he came on the second trip. Today I was at the house (a week later) and the inserts are still not there and the weather stripping has not been fixed. They have not called to let us know if there was a problem....

Got an appointment days sooner then any competitor could offer & even came in under the amount quoted :) thank you!!
