I feel like some of the mark ups are a tad high on a few things.However, after some sticker shock (which is probably my own fault you be the judge) the store was incredible! The employees were as friendly as possible. And the variety is cool. I could spend hours and still not see everything they have! And he said he gets more stuff in weekly!

2 stars for the staff today, 5+ stars for the store. Ive been into this place several times and always have a pleasant experience. Except today, the guy at the register (long black hair in ponytail) today seemed annoyed and bothered, I asked about prices on small specimens at the counter and I didnt like the way he was responding to me. It was like I was bothering him. Then the way he handed me my baggie was like he was dismissing me. Bad attitude and a weird bad vibe from the store today. I took my cousin in for her first time and sad to say she didnt like it. She wanted to buy a ring they had on the counter and as we were trying them on a girl came with a vacuum and asked us to step back so she could vacuum in the spot we were standing. I thought that was very rude, she could have waited until we were done trying rings on. And it made my cousin uninterested in buying the ring. Like Ive mentioned Ive been into the store several times and I will go back because regardless of the staff, the gems are great, Doug is great. I just was not happy at all with my visit today and when I do go back I hope it is a better experience from said staff.

Came in today and Z-Rock helped me out! He was ready to give me a tour, which I didn’t expect but enjoyed! Went in for a present for a friend and he helped me the whole time!They have everything! I highly recommend it here! Prices are really good! I’ve already told some friends and they want to go asap 😁

I was dramatically overcharged for the few items I purchased which were mostly small crushed bits to make pendants. The owner even took the time to charge me individually for each bit when most are sold by the ounce. Prices are not indicated on the smaller items so they’re able to make them us as they go. To placate me, the owner added small talk and threw in a piece to make me feel as if I was truly getting something. I went online to a wholesale site to discover I was charged 50% more. Sad to say this company has lost a local and potential lifetime customer.

Sold me fake Moldavite a few months ago but made up for it when an employee accidentally sold me 2 rings for $10 each and when I went again were being sold for over $100 :)

I came in here the other day and was astonished by the selection here. The gentleman was very knowledgeable about everything and where it came from. So that was interesting and informative. However, this man was no wearing a mask. I wouldnt have such an issue with that fact, but he was standing so close to me and my companion, it was uncomfortable. I know people have their opinions about masks and that is fine, but please keep your distance!! Even before the pandemic, people value personal space and this man had no clue what personal space is. He was very creepy to be honest. Aside from that uncomfortable experience, the store is nice and has a good selection of rocks.

Rocks arent my deal although my brother is fanatical about them. He took me here yesterday after meaning to for the longest time and I was impressed despite not having half the passion he does for them. I could really tell the owner/proprietor of the store was passionate about it and I absolutely respected that. I chose a geode and my brother chose a geode and they were both sliced for us there at the store.I was a bit in awe of seeing just what lies within the geodes. Friendly service and cool stuff (this coming from someone who is rather apathetic about rocks but impressed enough to leave a perfect review for the store)

Way too overpriced online prices seemed very good but shopping in person is another story please here me out y’all do not waste your time. Customer service was not the best they will throw you a 4 or 5 hundred price for something medium to small

Absolutely loved this place! Went in for my daughters birthday expecting to just pick out a geode, but Z-Rock gave us a tour and taught us so much! The owner even came out and told us some stories of how he got some of the rocks and fossils. The whole staff really made us just feel like family. Will be back soon!

I stayed for 3 months in an economics program I could bearly afford but what I truly wanted was the Masters in Art Management given in partnership with Sothebys. My mom was inconclusively sick at the time and our house was in practical shambles. We were a happy family until sorrow started hacking at my brother and trickling its way through to all of us. I decided it was time to come back home even if empty and without much hope. As a last resort, I passed by here to get turquoise aka fayrouz, the stone not the artist, which Islamically is touted for its ability to ward off evil eyes. I walk in and the owner and his family were sat down beside their scruffy dog. At first I think theyre glaring because Im a hijabi. Then after a while he comes to me, the owner, and says out of the blue: We all go to heaven when we die, right? And thankfully he went from that awkward opening as I stood there a bit confused to asking about what I gravitated towards. He then left me to look around and Id found my way through the sliding doors to the outdoor corridor. Im not sure if it was the painting which depicted burning men alive during the plague or the wooden shed at the end but something made me feel so uneasy that I froze and stared at the display case by the sliding doors for a good 5 minutes until my dad came in yelling from the parking lot. Not to enforce stereotypes but yes hes your typical Ed, *cough* Abdullah *cough* Ed. My mom passed away 7 months later. No, I wasnt wearing black that day. I still have no idea why anyone would open with a question about death.

These dudes totally rock! Honestly just what I needed to lift my spirits. I love thats it has raw gorgeous pieces without the whole gift shop approach alot of places are taking now. I got an amazing piece of petrified wood and cant wait to go back for more.

So this was my first time visiting Gems A Plenty and WOW must i say what an amazing experience it was -!!! They have a huge variety and tons of beautiful Gems & Stones from little tiny gems to ginormous ones. I was like a kid in a candy store -!!! The young gentlemen that was working that day was very knowledgeable. I went there looking for specific stones that i was getting for a friend which i had no clue on what i was suppose to even be looking for, so he pointed me to the right direction and helped me find what i needed. Extemely helpful -!!! Pricing was great that i even picked something out for myself. (Score) When i left the store all i kept thinking was how i cant wait to come back -!!! Absolutely love this place. From the first moment Doug and Sr. started their rock shop in Pomona, it was like a rock paradise. Now in upland, he has so many flavors of rocks all throughout the world! Even fossils too! If you give this place a visit, ask for group rates! :D no rock goes unloved here.

Gems o Plenty is an amazing place. Doug, the owner and manager is an expert in his field. His knowledge of rocks, gemstones and antiques is endless, and he is always willing to teach, share stories, and help identify what one brings in. He is your go to rock guy. (He rocks) He also has a beautiful inventory of gemstones, antiques, jewelry. Great place to buy gifts. Once you are there, its hard to leave, there us always one more thing to look at.

This is one of my kids favorite places to go. The people, especially the owner (Doug) are always super nice to my kids and tell them LOTS about the geology of the rocks/gems. Were definitely hooked on geology! My kids now have great rock collections that they like better than their Pokemon cards.

I go here everytime Im in Upland. I cannot stress how helpful everyone who works here is. They go out of their way to give you all the info you need. Ive been here about 3 times and they have new stuff all the time. Some of my favorite pieces are from here. Im also looking forward to seeing them at the Quartzite show.

Love this place ! Guys are super nice and informative with all kinds of neat and interesting stories about where all rocks, crystals, everything came from. We usually get our rocks from a local museum near by, but this place provides a lot more at fair prices. Weve got around 8 different kinds of rocks within the past 2 months and theyre still settling in😄 Awesome place, real homey. So so glad we found this spot💛 Happy hunting !

The younger gentleman was very helpful in helping me find what I wanted because I was looking for a specific specimen. The older gentleman who (appeared to be the owner) interrupted after about 10 mins and told me to get out of my shop if you arent going to buy anything. I was honestly considering buying one of their gems but the store owner apparently doesnt want you to inspect what you are buying. I would not go back here
