I have been looking for replacements speakers online for weeks and nothing I found was suitable for my needs. I went in and talked to Eric and explained (not very well, I might add) what I was looking for. He told me he’d do some research and within the hour, he’d sent me several options, all which suited my needs and within my allotted price range. It took me a while to get back to him to order, but the second I did he was right on top of things and it was a pleasure to feel like he cared more about meeting my needs on my schedule more than just making a quick sale. This was my first experience with Reference Audio and I am very glad it was a positive one. The speakers look and sound even better than I could imagine and were simple to integrate into my already existing sound system.

I was referred to Reference AVS by a doctor in Iowa City who just recently had them do extensive work at his home. He raved about the quality of the work they performed. Since I was remodeling my living room and dining room at my home in Des Moines, IA, I contacted Cody Schwaller with Refence RVS in Urbandale.Cody was excellent at being able to look through the mess of the remodeling and envision what the new TV and sound system would look like and its placement. He referred me to Kurrent Electric in Ames, IA for relocating electrical and cable outlets as well as openings for running connections through the wall.When I was ready for the installation Cody sent a technician by the name of Chad to do the work. Chad was a perfectionist! Using levels, tape measures, pieces of tape instead of a pencil he was able to position the TV perfectly. His knowledge of the TVs systems and connections and functions were flawless. Further, he was very patient in teaching me how to operate the TV and surround sound system. I have an extensive art collection so I had selected the Samsung Frame TV as it becomes a piece of art when not being used for TV viewing. This took Chad a little more time to teach me how to operate that part of the TV. He makes a great teacher with a lot of patience in order to teach someone like me who is very technology challenged.Overall, I am completely satisfied with the work performed, the education, and the TV itself. I would highly recommend Reference AVS!

Good price on a new Sony 85 inch TV. More importantly, they still do their own installations instead of farming it out to the lowest bidder like the big box stores. I will definitely use them again for future projects. Also good service both pre-and post purchase.

Great place to do whether you are a novice or expert with electronics. I have added tv, Sonos sound surround, controlling existing speakers and a new remote. Whenever I have an issue they are there to help. I have even texted Cody Schwaller on the weekend with problems and I got answers!Great service!

Cody and the Reference AV team were fantastic. We had trouble getting a WiFi signal throughout our 110+ year old house in Des Moines. Cody designed a system that gave us full coverage inside plus coverage in outdoor living spaces. The install crew was great and figured out places to hide the materials so they cant be seen, but still provide great coverage. Even after the job was done, Cody provided on-call support for any issues that came up - day or night. I highly recommend.

Had them come out to give me a quote to add cameras to our new addition at the shop. Right off the back i got a high quote. Money wasnt the thing but time was. They wanted to wait 2-3 weeks before they coule help us. We unfortunately couldnt have the camera system down that long for safety of our vehicles in our lot. So then we asked him if they could just do some technical adjustments to our system and then agree they said it wont be an issue. Mind you i waited two weeks just to set an appointment because according to heath it was outta his hands! Once appointment was set i had to wait another two weeks for them to be available, which was fine, a few days before my appointment they cancel on us due to them not feeling comfortable will our system mind you they said it wasnt a problem they had already talked with there engineers, they also looked at my system, also because we wired our system which we didnt A-techs did. Regardless they were coming for adjustment on the technical side of things not wiring. Since then ive called a few times and left a couple messages never got a call back. Smh with heath and all of this team! Just wasted a month if not more!

Ive used Reference before to hang and wire our big screen TV over the fireplace and was so pleased with their work, I called them to come and rewire and install a new internet connection.Cody is a great communicator and listed to what I needed and designed it. Josh was able to install it timely and answer all of my questions.All in all, it was a great experience and now our WiFi works seamlessly along with the hard wired component to provide coverage all over our house.In our opinion, Reference is a fantastic company.
