Jonah was a terrible help. I called to see if I still had warranty on a controller I bought a while back, and he seemed like that was a hassle to find out. He told me yes there is still warranty and agreed that I could come in and swap it out for a new one. I get there and he’s not even at the counter, comes out of the back room, I say hi I talked to someone on the phone not sure if it was you. He proceeds to say I’m the only one working in a snarky tone. I say can you double check my warranty to see how much I get towards another one, he says $70. I grab a $70 controller he says actually only $25. I still was ok with it seeing that I need a new one. Then after all that he says actually the warranty expired I can’t do anything about it. He doesn’t even say you could trade in that controller for credit towards another one or anything just says sorry. Forgot to mention he yawned on the phone when I called. This was the rudest experience I’ve had in a long time. For Jonah it should be GAME OVER.

I love game stop I always go there for ally Xbox controllers because then I can buy a warranty on it and no matter how I brake that controller I can get a new one and all I have to do is buy a new warranty no cost for the controller itself

The staff working were very helpful to my grandson. He didnt find the XBoxOne game he wanted but was offered digital version. My grandson is Autistic and really needed a physical game in his hands.True, the Christmas season probably wiped them out of certain popular games... But we will come back again next time he comes to visit.The GameStop staff were great even though the place was packed.. they tended to each customer pronto.

Found a few things I was looking for but the one thing me and the wife wanted to play was not in stock even tho they had the case on the shelf. This was not the first time as this happens a lot here. Also when I checked out with a ps4 game and a x1 game they acted like I was stupid stating these games are one different consoles. You know that a xbox game wont play on playstation. I am at all not stupid as I am a gamer that owns more then one type of system unlike some others.

The gentleman with the longer hair that works evenings has some of the best customer service in the game.Vast knowledge of gaming in all systems, games, and also great with recommendations. Wish I would have gotten his name so I could have included it with my review. Hopefully GameStop will respond to my review, and let us all know.Amazing customer service. Thank you.

This store is by far my favorite Game Stop in all of Des Moines! They have a much better game selection and other accessories! They are the most friendly and knowledgeable staff, they really know their stuff and I love that about them!! I dont plan on shopping at any other store! This is where I will go from now on because I couldnt imagine any other place where the staff really know how to make their customers have a great experience!

Went in to buy a controller. Couldnt just do that. Was told I needed to listen to the employees sales pitches to join all of their yearly programs because that was their job regardless of telling them I have no interest over and over. They still signed me up for a program of theirs that was free even though I told them not to as well as re registering my old email from when I did have a membership here so that I am getting spam from the store daily. After 10 minutes of sales pitch I then paid with a $100 bill. The employee checked it (as they should) before going on about how if they have drawers off the boss there likes to throw things larger items in the store at them as punishment before showing me an item that had been thrown at them. I dont know what is going on here but this place is an absolute mess. I have zero interest in a return. If you truly need a gamestop just go to Merle Hay or JC mall.

This is one of the worst GameStop’s ever . Do not go to this one . This is my 3rd time going to the store, the first time they said they couldn’t open because staff didn’t show up on time and the guy that was there was only unlocking the door, the 2nd time they weren’t open . And this is the 3rd time waited in my car for 10 min and at 12:08 (they open at 12) watched the guy finally go inside after he was just chilling and eating in his car, so the store probably won’t be open till 12:45 because he stilled had the gates and everything closed .

Brother ordered a game. They ordered it for the wrong console, said they would do product replacement for it, said it would be in midweek. Called in midweek, ope they never put a replacement order up for it. Its been a week, its still not in. No one has been at all helpful and no one has confirmed if they actually put in the order for product replacement. So we are now a week behind on the game from everyone else we usually play it with. And yea, we paid for the game and they are still going nothing to help fix it.

Small store with a disappointing selection at times,especially when regarding their clearance, shirt, and collectible selection. However, they always have a selection of pre-owned and up-to-date games. As well, older and harder copies of objects are easier to find here. Staff overall is helpful, if not a bit tired at times from answering questions.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the gentleman whom assisted me today however wanted to leave a good review. Was in the store 5pm-ish 6-2-20. Very freindly service. As the only customer in the store he chat me up and I dare say gushed a bit about the new Xenoblade Remaster I was in to pick up a copy of. Knew what he was talking about and seemed genuinely passionate about the game. Warmed my heart to see. Keep it up! ✌

The staff are always really nice and helpful. Sometimes you can find a good deal on older games or clearance items. There gamer items like pop toys, regular toys, etc. is awesome; but paying as much as they want for used games is ridiculous and always has been.

Went in for 1 game, and 2 employees tried several times to sell us other games, the rewards card, and accessories even after we politely declined several times. They then acted upset cause we did not want to buy all the extras.

Absolutely poor customer service all around. I have waited over a month and a half for funds to be returned to my account from a voided transaction all because this stores EMV terminal didnt work correctly. I have contacted this store multiple times to get this issue resolved and also the customer service help line but to no luck. For a transaction of over 300 dollars for a used system, you would think that if the transaction was voided and its their fault that the company would do all they could to get that money back to their customer as soon as possible, but even the manager is less than willing to help and has just says that the funds will be put back on the card, even though she made no effort to make that happen clearly.

Typically I have enjoyable experiences here. However a couple months ago I purchased a new Xbox One controller. When I went to open it I realized it was taped shut with scotch tape. After removing the controller I noticed the back case was not put back on correctly and it was very clearly used. Far from new. Verify your items before paying folks. Rookie mistake.

Store Leader Nick Renda is by far the best Gamestop employee Ive ever had the pleasure of interacting with.Upon entering he greeted me with a very friendly Hello and Welcome.My niece is a big fan of Barbie and she was looking to play some Barbie video games. Imagine how thrilled I was when Mr.Renda informed me that not only did they have nearly every barbie game in stock but they were all on sale for under $5!I bought one of each game and my niece was very happy this year!5 stars all the way.

I always enjoy my visit to this location. The store is clean and employees very helpful! I just picked up my Far Cry 5 preordered copy, and the whole process went very smoothly and organized. The associate who help me -Nickolas- was very good at explaining how the preorder system worked. I also am extremely happy because Far Cry was released at 9pm instead of 12am! That was an awesome decision on GameStop’s part.

Not at all what youd expect from GameStop. They were not busy, yet the staff seemed to not want customers and acted like they were finding things to do rather than asking if they could help. There where only 3 people total in the store. They were short, not talkative, and really didnt seem to know much about video games. I asked a few questions and the response i got was I have an Xbox, not a PlayStation, so I dont know........ If you work at GameStop, its easy to be up on whats new and whats coming out, I believe its really a requirement of the job. But these guys didnt know or didnt care. Will not go back to this location as other locations have a much better atmosphere.

Do not trade in. I was looking to trade in a ps3 (one controller) and 20 games.Found most my games (atleast according too them) are valued at less than a dollar yet, they are turning around selling them for upwards of 5 to 10.Do yourself a favor and sell them yourself.

UPDATE 6/30/2018)They seem to have gotten more personable staff there now. The guys that are there are pretty cool. Just go there when the manager isnt there. I was bringing in an Xbox One to trade, and the update on their poor internet connection was going to take over 3 hours, and she wanted me to stay there the whole time. Luckily another staff member tried to shut it down and let me go home. Theres a gray area between customer service and upholding policies, and I would never make a customer wait 3 hours in a store, ever. But if shes not there, the other staff seem happier and all around you get a great experience. Bumped up my star rating. If they get a more personable manager this place would be better.(A year ago)Service here is horrible. Had an Xbox360 magically red ring here. Funny enough it worked when they first plugged it in, said they couldnt take it because of parental locks. Took it home and figured out how to remove it (they said it wasnt possible). Took it back and then all of the sudden it was red ringing. Staff is very unfriendly as well.

NBA 2K15 was suppose to have a midnight release tonight. I got a message the other day with all the details, arrive at 10 pm to pay off the rest of the game and get the game at 12am. I waited 2 1/2 hours for a worker to show up and no one showed up! First off dont call/text people that you are having a midnight release if you arent going to have employees working. This made me very frustrated as well as the other people that were also waiting for this game and another game. This is a lack of respect and terrible customer service on this Gamestop locations part. For the most part they are good about midnight releases but tonight was by far the worst experience Ive ever had with them.

Absolutely horrible. Called them 4 times during the day to see if they had a PlayStation 4 Destiny bundle. They told me yes, but they cannot hold it for me. I called them when I was on my way there, and they said there was one left and I could have it. When I got there they told me they had one left but were holding it for someone. What kind of garbage is that? I will boycott all GameStops from here on out... such a crappy way of service. Also the manager Nick was a complete tool and was condescending to me and his new employee. I feel like I deserve a free game or my trade in for the white ps4 after that.
