I came here from Rochester after checking out the nearby Reimagine Records (which was a significantly more pleasant experience). This shop itself was vast and pretty fun to dig through. That is why I am not going as low as 1 star. The owner, however, was less fun…As I came in, I smiled and said “hello” and he looked at me and did/said nothing. That’s not a big deal and I didn’t think much of it until finally, after I silently dug through for 10 minutes, he said, unprompted, “if you need something, you need to move your mouth, I don’t like being ignored”. Well I didn’t feel super welcome after that and he continued to insist that I asked him questions… I left knowing I will never come back here.
Wow the owner is extremely rude and unwelcoming..I’ve been here twice and both times he was very unpleasant to deal with. Apparently he doesn’t haggle. He flipped out on me for even asking for a discount! The records on display are packed so tight you can’t even skim through them..and he’s priced even the worst looking records at high retail. I don’t know how he’s been open all of these years with an attitude like his. Plenty of other records stores to shop at and not to mention the internet. I’ll never set for in this store again.
Amazing store! Has everything from the common to the extremely rare prints. Really nice and knowledgeable owner on site. Definitely worth the drive!
Great source of an extensive variety of music in any format imaginable, as well as music memorabilia. A music lover could spend hours in here and not scratch the surface of whats available.
When you find a store in an out-of-the-way place such as Utica with an eclectic mix of vinyl and memorabilia, it usually means the prices are unreasonably high. Such is the case here. This small, dank store is packed with music memorabilia priced to sit and gather dust, sold I assume to either the naive or those blinded by nostalgia. Their vinyl is priced at WELL above retail, crazy-high, which is amazing considering 1.) this is not some boutique in Brooklyn and 2.) the condition of their stock is poor. Nothing as far as I can tell has ever been cleaned; you’d think someone that deals in vinyl would treat their stock with the respect their prices imply. Be sure to inspect ALL discs and sleeves carefully! My #1 piece of advice is: don’t leave your discs behind at the counter BECAUSE THEY WILL BE REPRICED right under your nose. Amazing. I’ve been shopping at mom-and-pop record stores since the 80s and I’ve never felt more burned by a shopping experience. I will not be shopping there again. Ever. Don’t waste your time.
Best records shop in town. They have plenty of records. Seriously PLENTY!!! They got three floors. I remember the first floor for all genre like pops, rock, hip hop, and second floor is for old songs around 60,70’s(my memory might not be right.) And the basement for only Jazz. If you are trying to collect records, U GOTTA GO THERE!!
Great place to shop for used and new music and related material awesome store
Very interesting selection, but the used CD prices were comically high. I guess when its the only option town you take what you can get. Youll probably be fine if youre looking for records.
Los of great stuff, friendly service.
My go to place for nylon guitar strings. Always nice to support a local business. There are a ton of vintage items in here.
This place has it all! And lots of cool KISS stuff too! :)
Love this store, anything vintage you could think of for music.
A hippie paradise, thrift store graveyard of where all the lost memorabilia has gone. A plethora of records, (all sized) CDs, t-shirts, and collectors items. Doesnt negotiate in price much.
Great selection, the dude who runs it is awesome knows all kinds of music trivia, history ect.
Awesome place!! You can find anything here!!
Nice for some old records
DEEP catalog, knowledgeable staff.
Such an awesome place!!!
