Everyone here is extremely nice and helpful! They always take the time to answer my questions and help me make the best decisions for my MtG deck! I go to them whenever I need new cards.

I used to live in White Bear Lake, and was visiting briefly just for the evening. My girlfriend and I saw this shop and all the people playing inside and had to stop by! We are from California now and never see this sort of setup by us. I love that someone has the passion and willingness to open such an epic location for others to create their own gaming memories. Craig was very open and friendly and welcomed us right into the Battleground realm.Epic location with a wonderful assortment of card and strategy options. So happy we stumbled on this location on our brief trip to Minnesota! Be sure to stop on by!

Im not gonna lie. Ive never been inside this place but every time i drive past it theres like a soothing green aura emitting from this building. It just looks like a down to earth place for people to hangout and have fun.

You will scarcely find a better staff, nor a store with more integrity than this establishment. The community is rich and inviting, resembling a warmth absent from many larger game stores. At this moment in time, I cannot recommend a game store even more.

As of writing this the store is still being put together a bit after moving to this location from their old. Their staff is very helpful and enjoyable to speak to. Fantastic place.

It was very welcoming and I enjoyed my time there as much as I could, given my toddler had a meltdown (by the way, apologies to the workers today, I know I grabbed him and left very quickly after he started crying and I wasnt able to say anything before). I plan to go there again, next time when I have someone to watch my son for me. The game, food, and card variety was very nice and the people there had a welcoming atmosphere, even while my son was being overexcited or upset. Only complaint is that there wasnt more stuff but its completely understandable due to Covid and all that so its fine!

Great place to pick up and play Digimon, Magic, and other tabletop games!Their new current location is very spacious and you can see various games being played as you look around. My primary interaction here is their Digimon tournaments which I greatly enjoy and they look after the community when it comes to product which is exemplary when considering the current state of the TCGs environment.

Employees are rude, owners refuse to give buy a box promos and I can only assume they are selling those are on side.Clearly management is uninterested in working anything out.

I visted this store prior to covid on an adventure with my girlfriend to different HPB and game stores on the way. Went in, looked around, saw a card in the case I really wanted. I approached the counter and the guy working it was talking to another guy and ignored me. Once that conversation was done he continued on with another person. I felt like I was ignored because I wasn’t a regular. I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged in any way. I never thought about writing a review before, but being a customer service guy my whole life, this expirience left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn’t have written this pending I didn’t happen upon the location being reccommended to me again. I guess now I’ve said my peace and hope its improved.

The Battleground Cafe is the must-stop game shop in White Bear, Vadnais Heights, Maplewood and Roseville area. The staff, games, atmosphere and camaraderie are great. Shout out to the shop’s owners - Craig and Mike, for making the store welcoming, fun, and an all around great place to go if you want to buy/sell/trade or just to just hang out and play games with other people.

I’ve gone here multiple times with my friends, it feels like visiting a good friends home. The people that work here and manage the business treat you very well as another friend of theirs. The coffee is good and so is the tea. They specialize in magic the gathering and host many other games like war hammer, Pokémon, D&D and gaslands. If your coming for accessories to the games you love this is the place. Come sit down for a while and make new friends.

This is my go to spot to play cards every Friday. Craig is an amazing guy and runs a great shop. Great card selection and the snacks are always am interesting surprise! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to play games with friends.

Criag (one of the owners) is super friendly. So knowledgeable and nice. Great choices of pop and snacks. Organized glass cases of Standard, modern and everything else. Parking is good. Cant wait to go back!

I have enjoyed going here its definitely got some of the important parts of a cafe; the coffee, the pastries, the tea, and other beverages. They tend to have hours that fit well with the people that do 9-5 jobs. While they are a cafe they have a ton of games and also tailor to the Magic the Gathering Community, D and D, Pathfinder, and at least a few more I dont know. If they dont have it feel free to ask them. There are usually a couple of D and D campaigns there and Commander games going on there. They have many good sales and a lot of events. They are quite nice about helping people find groups to play in, I have noticed some times when it is really busy there are groups that form and it gets kind of hard to find a game but that is not the stores fault and they are very nice about offering to start groups to play with. If you are searching for groups to play with I would strongly recommend going to this store. If you do not play any of the games mentioned there are also a ton of games you can try when you are in the store, and I am sure they have a few board games you can buy there as well.

Went there for the first time to play a few games of Warmachine and hordes, they had play mats, 2d terrain, tables, spots to charge your phone, cheap prices for drinks while we played, THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE! Staff even told me where to find things I wanted when they didnt have it in stock. Staff is amazing, store is clean and well lit, will definitely be back soon.

Its not a typical sit down eatery. Its a gaming store. They sell some incredible craft sodas. They sell chips and snacks. But mostly they sell games, and provide a space for people to play them in.The owner is super nice. Its rustic inside. Its friendly. If you are into games, check it out. Support your local game shop!

Honestly the best gaming store Ive ever been to. My first time walking in the door Craig talked to me like I had been a part of the family for years.They have all sorts of magic and other table top game supplies, and lots of MtG and Yu-Gi-Oh singles. Everyone there is super nice and inviting!

Not very big but a great atmosphere with large tables and comfortable seats. Didnt buy anything here except a snack so I dont know how their prices compare to other local stores.

This place is a lot nicer than most gaming stores and actually has a welcoming vibe to it. Everyone was eager to talk to us, they had a nice selection of snacks and drinks plus really nice tables and chairs.

TBC is a great facility for your gaming group featuring several large tables perfect for table top gaming, refreshments, game supplies and restrooms.When the space is full, the din can make it difficult to hear your group. Id love to see sound baffles installed. Perhaps collapsible room dividers, canvas artwork on the walls, or banners from our favorite games hanging from the ceiling, all of which would serve to mute the aural assault and add to the ambience of the space.Consider making your games purchases at TBC and help support this local venue. Our gaming group will be back often so Ill see you there!

Seemed like a very relaxed environment with plenty of things to do. If you want to learn magic the gathering or d&d style games, i would recommend this place to meet others and get friendly games going.
