Complete joke of a business. They will tell you one thing and do something completely different all to make a profit. They will charge you for overnight shipping, then ship your order ups ground if you are in the Tristate area and make a profit off of the shipping you paid. They will make a sale knowing the item isn’t in and then go shopping around for the item after they already took your money. Totally unethical business practices. DO NOT SHOP HERE!
Sign on the door states... Store Hours 10am - 6pm. So how is it, Im crossing the street at 5:40pm & see the lights shut off?? & Not even a sign on the door apologizing for closing early?? Okay.Im pretty sure the guy I just watched ride off into the sunset on his bicycle was the rep on duty too.Guess, Ill take my funds elsewhere.
Bait and switch. 17Photo listed my purchase as HD-VIT-75, when it is actually an SDI-VIT-75 (an obsolete product). Silly me for not looking at the item closer when it didnt work, not sending it back sooner and thinking that there is a legit reason for a company selling a product $30 cheaper than the rest. Is their error incompetence or bait and switch? Refused my request to return the item as I was more than 30 days from when I purchased it (took me 45 days to return to the problem and realize what had happened).
Why do I love coming here? Simple.1. You dont feel like you are constantly being talked into things or ripped off, unlike some places around the corner.2. Their staff is knowledgeable and will explain things thoroughly, offering some great advice along the way.3. Fair prices.I have been there many times over the past few years, and each time I had a great experience. Additionally, I have sent my friends there for what they need, and they always left happy!If I am ordering something specific, I like to call ahead so they can put it aside for me if need be. If there is something that you need, they will order it for you. :)All in all, I highly recommend these guys for great, respectable, and personable service.
I purchased a handgun laser from these people on eBay and it came looking used and broken. I have reached out to them several times for them to ignore half of my messages and send me straight to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Now they wont answer my messages at all. The customer service is a joke and I highly recommend stay away from these people if you need anything. Find someone who cares about their customers and are willing to help anyway they can. $230.00 down the drain
I am not sure why there are bad reviews here. My experience was great! They are honest people who took care of me. They price matched B&H and sent my camera via next day air with no additional charge to me. I also purchased a few lenses from them; one lens came in with a firmware that I could not update (FUJI). I called them they and they told me to send it back. After they received it they called me and asked me if I wanted a refund or credit. Communication was great. I highly recommend them.
Phenomenal customer service! I lost the charger for my Polaroid Pogo printer after moving, so I called earlier today to enquire about purchasing the hard to find car charger. I was told it was out of stock, but they were instead able to offer me an AC charger with no hassle. Saved nearly $100 since I dont have to buy a completely new one!
For photographic services NYC, this is really one of the best places to go! They have a great wide selection and know a great deal about their products. Additionally, their prices seem to be lower than other places, including the larger stores. Kudos to this family owned business!
It is one of the few camera stores that dont all close at 6pm which makes it easier for me after work to run over and get things I need.The service was friendly and I thought very helpful. He double check to make sure I was getting the right one. While it is slightly pricier than online stores obviously but with these thing I prefer talking to a knowledgeable person.
I was helped by Mr Zapata. He is very knowledgeable. He was able to explain what I needed, and what upgrades I would need in the future. I will be seeing him in the future if I need the upgrades.
Tom in the store is the most helpful and knowledgeable photo specialist there is. Prices are very competitive with other real stores. No need to go to the city for selection and service.
Despite its very professional offering, the place is also beginner friendly! Allan, the owner, is the guru when it comes to helping you select an appropriate lens. Great selection and prices are very competitive as well!

I have been shopping at 17th Street photo for about 20yrs. No issues. They only sell USA version of camera & lenses which is plus.I go to other places only if they are out of stock of item Im looking for.Every company has a policy to follow, some have 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks return. No one should complain if they have passed their time limit for return.By the way these are my views. Im not associated with 17th Street photo in any way.
Lots of cool tech. Gopros, cameras, drones, and all the accessories. Prices are on part with online sites but owner might work with you

I would never do business again with 17th Street Photo they have horrible customer service. I bought a watch as a gift and then when the recipient wanted a different model 17th Street Photo at first ignored my emails and then refused to do the return.
FAIL !!! I order 2 laptops.. they didnt send them requiring a signature and they didnt come on the date stated. So they sat outside overnight. it was -7 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried countless times to contact them from the number on the site and via amazon WITH NO RESPONSE FOR WEEKS All I wanted was to return them and get 2 more... NO ONE EVER.. EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE.. they finally responded and told me to call for a return label.. before I could call I got an email stating that its not their problem and for me to contact lenovo.. WTF?????????????? WTF kind of customer service is this? no apology... nothing !!
Pathetic seller. Do not do business with. Money saved by cheap pricing not worth it.I was on vacation when my product arrived, tried it out same day I got back, found it was defective and contacted seller. They said they have a very strict 7 day return policy and hung up. Now I have a useless $500.00 lens.You guys are a real disappointment.
They sold me a broken camera on Amazon. It was a Christmas present for my wife. Their policy is that an item must be returned within 7 days or they are not responsible for it. Because it was a Christmas present, I did not open it immediately after it was delivered to me, so the 7 day window was closed well before we opened up the camera. I tried to contact the company through Amazon, but they didnt feel the need to respond to me. I now have a useless polaroid camera and 6 rolls of film to go with it. Thanks for nothing 17th Street Photo. I hope nobody buys from this place again.

I purchased a great camera from 17th Street Photoon theirAmazon seller ccount. It seemed like a good deal and they claimed they could ship to Europe in a little over a week, with a fairly steep shipping charge. I was fine with that because I really needed this camera for work.The camera was valued at over $1k, and to ship it to Europe I paid a pricey $165.The problem first started when they didnt provide a tracking number. With the expense of this purchase this worried me a little. I mean Ive purchase products for less than $5 and recieved a tracking number.Then the order never showed up between the 5 day delivery date they gave. So Icontacted 17th Street Photo by email for 4 days in a row asking what was going on, they never replyed. I then contacted Amazon directly to explain the problem, Amazon sent them an email asking what was going on too. That same day 17th Street photo finally wrote me back, but not explaining what was going on, Only informing me that there could be additional charges added to the shipping. At this point I had enough and filed a claim with Amazon, which they gladely made and apoliged for my experience. Its now been 17 days since I first purchased the camera, and over a week since the camera was supposed to be delivered. Istill have not heard a word from 17th Street Photo, Nor do I still have a camera, but they have my $1200.00.I HIGHLY advice you to choose another photo store before doing business with them. I think Amazon would agree.
Very bad experience with this seller! I order a brand new Sony a7III, and they send me an open box camera with missing charger! I returned it and now they hold my money still!

Ordered a flash light. It was supposed to ship by Nov 6. Its Nov 14th and it has not shipped. Emails to the store go unanswered. Its no way to run a business.
No customer service to speak of, Item not delivered in the quoted time frame, called to inquire and was told by Walmart that I would get a call back in 24hrs from them but never did. Will not buy from them again.
