Ive taken my vehicles to Levin for probably 10 years. Always friendly, knowledgeable and my cars get repaired quickly!! Ive never had to return for something done incorrectly, I can trust 100% that they diagnosed and preformed a thorough job.I always ask if they can apply any discounts available and also if they will price match parts and they always work with me! As much as it costs to fix newer vehicles, this is invaluable!

Very disappointing experience. I dont write many negative reviews but surprised Ive never left there feeling good about the interaction. One service experience was especially bad, every other one just... poor customer service. Left there and went to a competitive tire company who couldnt have been nicer and acted like they wanted my business. Completely different feeling as a customer.

They say you get what you pay for, and Id have to agree! I have never had any issues! Great service staff and they always take care of all my car needs quickly and efficiently.

Went for an alignment and tire rotation. Didnt get changed one cent due to not needing one. Not bad after I replaced all ball joints and bushings. Went to leave and had them change my battery it was 5 years old. There were fast just a little high on price . Will be back for more work to be done. Thanks guys

My dad was in town and thought his tire was low,took the car in to Levin and they checked it out, said nothing was wrong, and did not charge him anything. Great customer service!

My tires had low pressure but it wasnt even close to time to rotate them. (I bought them from Levin 6 months ago). Even though they were busy, they took my car right in and checked the tires and pumped them up. Much easier for me than trying to do it myself in the snow!

Looking around for great reviews on front end alignments and the rude way the owner responds to personal reviews is very off putting. I dont believe attacking your customers on their view of services is very professional. Now, while there only seems to be a few bad reviews here and there, threatening to post videos and ECT is not only rude its completely unprofessional. I really thought this place of business may have actually been a great place to trust doing my front end alignment, however, I would much more have a company that not only treats their employees great, but also treat their customers great as well regardless of a negative review or positive review. Regardless of the customer right or not, we are all allowed to have our own opinion and reviews without an owner being completely rude and disrespectful! I really hope you realize how much money your company has truly lost due to you being an insecure boy and a bully! Absolutely disgusting!

They got me in to replace the valve stem and recalibrate the sensor with out a appointment. The cost was less than I expected. I was very pleased with the service and staff.

My 17 year olds check engine light came on, his car starting rumbling and he needed to get somewhere fast. He pulled into Levin Tire; the team there guided and directed my son the way a father would. My son felt safe; the work they did for him was above and beyond a basic diagnosis (two coils & spark plugs). The team was beyond thorough and put my son back in his car safely. I cant thank them enough!!

Levin Tire is a good dealership alternative for minor to moderate mechanical repairs with savings over the dealerships and Levin Tire Valparaiso are a good people to work with in particular manager/advisor Jim Wayco.

Great service! I broke down just down the road only 470 miles into my 650 mile trip. They got to my van immediately and stayed with it until I was on the road again. I have been doing business with the store and Valparaiso within these 15 years, and never once have I been taken advantage on service or even product, they do a great job on taking care of my tire needs, and all other service aspects that I need on the cars. Not only just at the Valparaiso location but any of the other locations that Ive needed assistance while I was traveling in their region, this company is the absolute best.

They do a great job repairing tires and installing them. However, they always want to upsell you with extra items. I appreciated them doing a free tire balance check, but was in a hurry and had to wait through explanation of why I needed an alignment.

This place is very under qualified, they were very unprofessional from an employee perspective, I left no review, but you wanna call me no call no show after I requested a schedule 6x I had just returned from major back surgery on light duty, you made me pack up and move my toolbox to a different city then worked me 13hrs in one day. Liars and scammers because none of your techs were ase certified and I would not trust that shop to lace my shoes. Let alone putting wrong parts on cars and super gluing the ones that broke because you had already milked the customer for every last penny. Stay far away from these shady branches. Pics to follow if you intend on deleting your highly i incorrect response. This company is corrupt from every angle. Run far and fast.

Writing this review on behalf of my Uncle, wanting to get the word out about the Amazing people at Levin. He has gone to them before for general auto repair since he got his recent car, Levin has consistently taken care of it, open and honest about any and all work needed, and at a fair price.Yet, on 10/4/20, the employees at this Valpo Levin, (Chip, Casey, Robert) WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ANYTHING YOU WOULD EXPECT. These guys got smacked with a whole slew of problems and rose to the challenge. After a car accident, my Uncle was forced to a different mechanic than Levin (he usually goes to Valpo from Lake Station, due to Levins quality work), this other Mechanic, could not have screwed up more.The Thermostat, Thermostat Housing, Ignition Wiring, Catalytic Converter, Muffler, all repaired by this other mechanic, Levin showed my uncle the shoddy work and then fixed them properly, and did it right this time. Chip, Casey, and Robert all took the time to help my uncle and even stayed after !closing hours! to make sure my Uncle was able to drive home safely the same day.Anyone in the Lake County Area should keep Levin Tire & Service (Damn great service at that) of Valparaiso, in mind when they need any auto repair. If you have Chip, Casey, Robert, and Im sure their fellow courteous, professional employees, you will be in good hands. I cannot recommend them enough.Sincerely,S. Shimer

Good price on an oil change with very average customer service. Im pretty certain that I waited 15 minutes after the job was completed while the manager spoke with one of his buddys. Would have been nice to have been notified.

Jim the manager is always a pleasure to deal with. Weve been going to him for about 10 years and always treats us as an appreciated customer. Hes always honest with what needs to be done and he will take you into the shop area to show what needs to be done. Hell also show you the bad parts that were replaced. He never puts the high pressure sales pitch on you.

I had new tires put on my Jeep Wrangler. I called around and looked online and Levin had the best quote. I dropped my Jeep off and they drove me to work, they were done before lunch, and offered to pick me up. I usually get my oil changes here too. Jim and the others Ive met are super nice, knowledgeable, and Ive never felt ripped off or that they were trying to sell me something I didnt need.

Stephan was awesome at getting my daughters car in quickly and changed the battery in 15 minutes before your shop closed. Customer service was awesome, the price was right - as long as I have kids at Valpo University, you will be my go to repair shop.

Very nice and friendly staff. I was from out of state and they got my car in right away. Even though I got there when they were about to close they ordered the part I needed, kept my car over night and I got a call before 10 am the next day and told me it was done. Very pleased with the alignment service again here. I was in and out in no time and was able to watch the work while being done. Their technician Al is top notch on the alignment rack.

Levin Tire continues to frustrate me with methodically slow service. I have grudgingly and repeatedly used their services occasionally only to be disappointed.I called in the AM to reserve time for a tire rotation and to have them check a slow leaking tire. They are 1 minute from my home thus convenient.They informed me no need for scheduling that most rotations take around an hour or less. Got there, I was only car in parking lot with one other person in waiting room. Grant you, other cars in bays but not buzzing busy. OK, 40 minutes later (two other customers came in after me and left) my car pulls in the bay & tech removes offending tire and proceeds with a repair at what seems a very slow pace. So much for having a window for customers to watch! Clearly their techs are not paid on a per unit basis, but this tech could not havewalked or worked any slower. Then, when done he lowers car, then back up because he forgets to tighten and tork lugs. Very inefficient time and motion management. I thought lift time was money?A 10 minute puncture repair turned into 20 plus another 10 minutes to replace and return all his tools. Finally, when he pulled the car out he DID NOT remove his DIRTY gloves. My interior is light gray, dirt and grease on steering wheel, thank you. Then when I checked the rotational pattern, which for front wheel drive, industry recommended is fronts straight back and rears crisscrossed to front. How do I know, the offending leaking tire is a mismatch which came with the car when purchased. On the passenger rear it should have been moved to drivers front. It was on passenger front. Mind you this rotational pattern probably wont affect performance but it is industry recommended. This from a tire place.Mr. Levin, I do appreciate your not charging for the rotation itself and I did not set out today to give your service a negative review. But I do know in business time is money. The 1.5+ hour I spent in your shop only cost me time but it more so cost you money. The 30-40 minute job it should have been, I would have gladly paid the rotation fee with the repair just in time savings alone. Im not sure the customers always right sir, but I believe you could have made up for the discount you gave me by being more efficient and time managed. My time is important too. I will have to rethink my future patronage.Thank You

I brought my car in for a simple break job and oil change. When I came back to pick up my vehicle, horn didnt work, air bag light was on, and cruise control stopped working. I was never told about what happened, when I made a complaint. They told me I brought my car in with those defects and proceeded to quote me on prices. They never explained the fixes or introduced me to my mechanic. They were extremely shady and refused to acknowledge that someone screwed with my vehicle. I believe in karma and f... who ever it was. I hope you read this. Never coming back or referring people here. First and last time ever going to any Good Year.

Had an issue with one of our work vans, had it towed to your shop. Was called later and told the repairs would be $550 on Friday and I was okay with that. Then they called me back Monday saying those repairs were now $1,180. Not only that but they put the wrong tires on the van. Then the new mechanic called and said they sabotaged the van.

Got the tire on fast, just didnt put the hub back on the tire.

Thank you Jim and the staff here. I needed an alignment asap and not only was it fast, the staff was even able to answer a few questions of mine on other suspension parts I want replaced. Highly recommended.

WARNING: Do not purchase their Lifetime Warranty I spent $1,200.00 on tires and services and was told they couldnt do anything when I developed a sidewall knot after hitting a pot hole not 20,000 miles into the life of the tire because I was Outside the 3 year replacement clause of the lifetime warranty Even though my tires were dedicated snow tires and only saw about 12 months of actual use. Prices are also astronomical comparatively to other tire places, avoid this store and the tools that work inside at all costs!They do not care about you, or your safety!!!

I found the sales staff courteous and informative. The work was done timely and the cost was what I expected based on an earlier phone estimate. This is not the first work my family and I have had done at this facility. We have never been disappointed with the quality or price for the work completed.

I recently hit a pot hole and bent the rim on my car. I called around to places in Valpo with no luck, until I called Levin Tire. I was directed to Doug who was EXTREMELY helpful - let me send him pictures to see if the rim could be fixed (I didn’t want to drive there if it couldn’t, it’s dangerous), updated me throughout the process, and was incredibly helpful with all of my questions. By far the best experience I’ve had at an auto repair shop. Fast and easy.

Jim is always a class act and very professional. Ive had tires installed by this location on my 16 Explorer, my wifes 13 Durango, and recently my Dad had tires and brakes put on. Cant go wrong with Levin for tires and brakes.

I had a leak from my oil pan and Levin got me in right away to take of it. When picking up my car, I inquired about purchasing tires for my wifes vehicle. They were able to take care of that within an hour. Their prices are fair and their service is excellent. Since moving to Valparaiso, I have used this Levin Tire and Service Center for a multitude of services, from tires to repairs. They are courteous, prompt, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend their services!

Stopped by to have the refrigerant pumped out of my AC system. Jim was kind enough to work with me. After his machine was hooked up, the gauges showed no pressure/refrigerant was in the system. He explained what that could mean and provided advice on what I should do. The visit ended up not costing me anything when it easily could have. Will go back for future services.

Went here with the parts ourselves. That means we were only charged for labor. $300 for an hour and a half of work. What a racket! They quoted us a price prior to the job, then when we gave them a coupon, they charged us the same price. Ironic twist: They then gave us a card that stated if we give them a good review online, we would receive a coupon.....theres proof this place is a joke!

My husband and I bought a used car for our daughter. Levin did a full inspection and fixed the problems that they found. We had priced the services with another reputable company, and found that Levin was the more competitively priced service provider. We also found them to be the more knowledgeable and the most helpful. We liked them so much, my husband took his car back a couple days later. Again, best bang for the buck and the best service. Get ready, we have a 3 vehicle you will see as soon as we are ready for tires! They ROCK!

I took my car in for a regular routine oil change but other problems came up. Doug was very helpful and honest about the situation. For that, I am very grateful. The staff at Levin Valparaiso were wonderful!!! 5 stars in my book!!! Keep up the good work.

Excellent Service and Super Quick!! I took my husbands truck in after plugging his tire to have the valve stem replaced and was very pleasantly surprised to be told there was no charge! There were some other issues they found within his truck and everything was fully outlined...we will definitely be returning to Levin make those repairs!

I visited the Valparaiso Indiana location on Wednesday September 12, 2018 for a set of 4 tires. I was informed that 2 of my low pressure sensors were in need of being replaced, I said okay for those to be done. While waiting they said I needed other work, which I declined to be done that day. I was not updated other than things they said needed to be done to the car. I waited THREE HOURS for my tires to be put on, which were supposedly in stock at the time. I was told the sensors would be there before the new set of tires were ready to be put back on the car. I waited, and waited. after THREE HOURS, I asked if it was almost complete. I was told that they were almost done, just needed to tighten the lug nuts and do the alignment check. I declined the alignment check, as I had been there double the time I should have been already. I paid my bill upon completion and I left. One week later, Wednesday September 19, 2018 I saw that on a drive I had lost a hubcap to my car. I have never had this issue in the 4 years I have owned this vehicle. I went into the store and they said they would order it and it would be in quickly and I would receive a call when it was in. Thursday September 20, 2018 I called to find out it was in, I went in, and it was not a match to what was on my car. They said they would get that corrected and contact me via phone. Friday September 21, 2018 I had not heard anything, so I called in once again. I was told the hubcaps that came on the car when I purchased were not stock, and they could not find a match. They said they would order a set of 4, so they match and would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. I never heard from them on Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday September 26, 2018 I called in to ask for an update- I was told the same information as I was told the previous Friday. I told the manager I had already been told this, and the lack of communication was baffling to me. He said he would have a set in within that hour to replace on my vehicle. This time, it was true. Once they were replaced, I asked the manager what he could do to make up for a simple set of 4 tires turning into such a headache. He wrote on the back of his business card one free semi-synthetic oil change . I honestly do not even trust an establishment that could not install a hub cab correctly to change the oil on the vehicle I drive my child in daily. I hope this situation can be correctly rectified, and in a timely manner.

On 7/29/19 we went to Levin for our lifetime tire rotation. The time quote was 45min to 1hr. We waited 1 hr and 15 min with not one other customer in the waiting room. I went to the counter to get the keys to our vehicle and the rep said that we were next. A new customer came in and sat down and was told 30 min. wait. We took our keys and drove off without service. If you need service or tires, go to Portage Tire!!

Our family has been going to Levin Tire for auto repairs for years. I was able to get a great deal on new tires recently. The team is always very helpful. I highly recommend getting the Goodyear Credit Card.

Bought a set of tires from Levin, which I was pleased with, but called last week about a tire rotation. Was told didnt need appointment. So get up this morning drive 20 miles, get there at 7:55 (they open at 7:30) to be told that it would be 2 hrs. VERY PISSED OFF!! Recommend that you set up an appointment !

Honest place! Went in for an alignment. They couldve done it & taken my money, but there were other issues I had to take care of first & they walked me through what they found. My dads my mechanic usually, so I saved quite a bit of money bc of the help they provided.

We took my wife’s car here to replace brake pads and rotors. They quoted $691 saying that the caliper was locked up. Took it over to two other places and both places said zero about the caliper being locked which was driving the price up. Make sure you’re educated before you use this place. They were definitely nice and had good service on the facade but this sort of thing is straight up dishonest.

Brought my brand new Prodrive wheels and Michelin Alpine PA4 tires to be mounted and balanced. I go here because they offer Road Force Balancing. Didnt wait long. While I was paying for said services manager told me there were some scratches on the inside barrel of the wheel near the inside of the wheel. Said he has black rims also and thats just how it is. The color of my wheels is actually anthracite with black inner barrels. Knowing that there is always some minor marks after getting tires installed I was appalled at what I saw.Several large gashes into the metal of the wheel approximately 2-3 inches in length on all four wheels. Multiple even groups of nail sized gashes on all four wheels as well. What did you do take a hammer and chisel to my wheels? Highly disappointed and dissatisfied in this. Paid over a grand for wheels and I obviously got a gorilla to install my tires. If you couldnt safely install my tires you should have told me so. I hope you go out of business. Not going to bother complaining as it wouldnt do any good.PS,You owe me a new set of wheels.

Gave them a call to see if they fill nitrogen tires as everyone else in town wants u to have a appointment and will be expensive and time consumin. They just had me pull up and did it for free. Awesome service would recommend to anyone as great customer service. Also had 2 tire replaced a year ago and was good service.

I had previously take my car to another location in Valpo to get a nail in my tire patched and fixed. They had tried telling me it wasn’t repairable and that I needed a new tire. I didn’t believe that, so I took my car here and they had it fixed perfectly in no time at all. Thank you for being respectful and honest and not trying to up-sell your customers!

Never will I go here again! Went in to get a oil change and when I opened my hood the next morning I found my brake fluid cap was off and my oil cap wasnt even tightened along with my windshield washer fluid cap was wide out as well.

I was in a bind, had a piece of metal in a tire the night before a snowstorm and had to work early next day . They were almost closed for the day, made the repair quickly and got me back on the road. I appreciate them staying late to fix my tire. This is my first experience using them and I will be back.

Took my old Pontiac in for some new tires. Didnt catch the name of the tech that did the work, but he did a good job and showed some good customer service skills as well. I would definitely take my car back.

I will never do business there again. I should have known when I walked in the door and heard people yelling at the manager. I had 4 tires installed and an oil change. I could see through the glass window that even after the tires were installed, it was taking a long time and I could see two employees standing near my car talking. The next day I figured out what they were talking about. They couldnt get the new oil filter to fit in the canister. Why? Because they left part of the old filter in the canister. When I was driving into work the next morning I could smell oil burning but thought maybe they dropped a little on the motor. But then the oil light came on. All the oil had leaked out. The employees made a careless judgement to force the filter on when they noticed something wasnt right. Not the kind of place I want to do business with!

Its an okay place. I as a whole dont trust any car dealership or service center. The service was okay but not overly friendly. Last time I had an oil change and tire rotation it was $37.50, this time $60, and no information given as to why the price was higher.

Nice people, OK for simple stuff like changing/rotating tires and standard servicing, but would not trust them with more complex vehicle diagnosis. Tried them out when I couldnt figure out what component was having issues and their conclusion was pretty off and showed a pretty severe lack of expertise or attention to detail.

I came in and theh tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge.

If you buy tires here THEY DO NOT SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS for rotation. We own four vehicles and this is the only place weve purchased from that will not schedule rotation appointments. My daughter has school and work and I asked if she gets there at 4:30PM would she possibly be waiting until 6:00PM and the reply was YES...SHE CAN WAIT. Lesson learned. Find out from the tire retailer if they take appointments...if not find another place because all the retailers price match even online prices. Very disappointing. From personal experience, Discount Tire in Portage takes appointments and they have a station you can pull up to at anytime and have them check your tire pressure anytime if you purchased tires there.

Changed out 4 tires and did an oil change in an hour. Very pleased.

I went in there for 2 rear tires. I already knew the model I wanted. They had quoted me the best price, and had them in stock. They remarked that the tires I had on there were not too bad, that I really didn’t need new ones. I appreciate this, this is honest. But I wanted better tires on the rear for the snow.They were busy that day and it took around 3-4 hours. I walked to Panera Bread, had lunch, read my mail.When I got back, a tech came out + said that there were fluid leaks with the oil and transmission fluid. He wanted to add dye to each and then they can pinpoint the leaks. I declined. I check my fluids once a month or so, and there was no loss of fluid. When I got home, I changed the oil, and looked at the oil pan. Dry as a bone. Same with the transmission pan. Trying to rip me off with service that was not needed! I’ve been fixing cars 25 years and still some shops pull this stuff.The tires worked great.

Just had my 2012 Corolla serviced, have been coming here for tires, brakes, and other minor services for years, have always been pleased with the efforts of Jim and his crew.

I am taking my business elsewhere from now on. Two oil changes ago, they did not put my glovebox in properly. I went back so they could fix it and they STILL didnt put it back the right way. Now I went for an oil change and tire rotation, and not even a few hours after leaving three lights came on. Check engine, stability control, and traction control (which has never happened before) I came back two days later and they said its $60 just for them to look at it. I already found out what code it was throwing and they said they could not look at it for free because it doesnt have anything to do with an oil change. The O2 sensor (which was throwing the code) is in the way of the air filter (which they check with oil changes), so its pretty obvious that they accidentally did something to cause this problem. There is no way this just coincidentally happened in the same day. The fact that they are going to charge me $60 for something they probably did is so ridiculous.
