I ordered two pairs of boots last September (2019), a classic hiker and a summer hiker. I am a professional geologist and avid backpacker and have had life-long issues with debilitating blisters. I received the boots in late spring, also experiencing some of the delays and communication issues of recent reviews (hence 4 stars instead of 5). But persistence paid off. Both pairs have been heavily used this summer and fall and it makes such a difference having boots that fit my misshapen feet properly. Bottom line: The boots are great--six stars! And Aurel and Alex are conscientious craftsmen. I wish they attended to the business side a little better. I desperately want them to be there when I need my next pair!

Esatto used to be a legitimate business years ago and I am a repeat customer. Unfortunately, this no longer appears to be the case. Have given up on my nearly $1K order made >8 months ago with zero replies to nearly a dozen status and refund queries. Do not waste your time or money with this establishment.

It has been over a year and I am still waiting on a pair of boots to be completed. Havent been able to get a straight answer from the business or a refund.

I have had a wonderful experience with Esatto Custom Footwear. They were friendly and very knowledgeable about dealing with unusual feet. My feet are so unusual that I never had a pair of hiking boots that fit until I had Esatto boots and arches custom made. Since the first time I wore them, they were very comfortable, no breaking in was necessary. It is always a pleasure to wear them while hiking. My feet never bother me after a hike, I do not have to remove my boots as other hikers do. Alex is very reliable to work with and his product is great.

I was skeptical about the price of the custom boots at first. However I calculated all the money spent on boots that I hoped would fit well enough that ended up smashing my toes, hurting my feet, legs and back; the price of custom boots no longer looked so high. I do not get blister or pain with my Esatto boots. I have had them resoled twice by Esatto and the boots come back looking close to new. My feet have relaxed into their natural shape making all other shoes and boots extremely uncomfortable. My wife was tired of me wearing the boots to dinners and parties so I order the lace to toe walkers. I love these shoes! They look stylish and are a perfect fit. I allow the soles to wear out to much because I do not what to be with out work or hiking boots and be forced to wear off the shelf shoes that kill my feet, legs and back for the week it takes to resole them. So my wife talked me in to purchasing a third pair from Esatto. I placed the order last week for the summer hikers. My wife is so impressed with my experience that she is placing her order for summer hikers next week after we complete the fit kit. Alex at Esatto provides excellent customer service and Esatto makes the best boots and shoes I have ever owned. I have no plans to return to mass produced shoes ever again.

The moment you put them on you know they just FIT correctly, something Ive never had with hiking boots. My wide toes have room while my narrow heel is held firmly and comfortably in place. Excellent communications and delivery. I bought his Summer Boots in a brown color. They are the most (and only) comfortable shoes I own.I have wide feet with some typical foot issues. At 53 I was just tired of not owning good boots that fit well enough for long hikes or days. I tried many other off the shelf brands and was not too excited about any of them. They sounded a lot better than they fit.The Esattos fit perfectly right out of the box. They are now trail tested and I can tell you they get better with age.I recently sold all my other boots on eBay. I do not need them anymore. I should have spent the money at Esatto the first time. Esatto custom boots are completely worth the price and are an excellent value when you look at the big picture.Alex is great to work with and it really was a custom experience.

Pure excellence all around! I was a little unsure of spending so much on a pair of boots... but they are worth every penny! Im one of those people that just dont have a standard looking foot. My forefoot is wide, my toes are long and even... that horrible duck foot that no one makes foot wear for...After wearing the Esatto Summer Boots for several months it is clear that my foot has never slipped into a well fitted boot or shoe! I dont see how I could ever go back to anything else!The Esatto team have crafted a fine boot for me. Their service has been remarkable and above anything I would of expected. They made my boots perfect right out of the gate (no tune ups needed). If your like me, where shoes in the store dont ever fit right, come to these guys. If you are considering to have Esatto make you a pair of custom shoes or boots, but the price and lead time are an obstacle. Call Esatto right now and have them get started because you will be so glad you did! This is my story: Several sports injuries on the same leg and ankle shortened my leg almost an inch leaving me with too many problems to go into, back, knee, hip, all related to my leg being shorter. Eventually and a few years laterI ended up trying to find someone to make a pair of boots for me, because I can wear them with skirts and shorts as well as pants. I found Esatto on line. After speaking with Alex he explained in detail everything you will need to know about whatever! He then sent me the measurement kit (overnight delivery), which can be overwhelming if you have never done it. You can pay a nominal fee to a prosthetic med to measure for you or you can get a friend to help you. Which is what I did. And it was incredibly easier than I thought. I ordered the light weight hiker. When my boots arrived I opened the box and I thought wow both shoes look like they are the same I must have gotten the wrong shoes (you can imagine the height difference). They are gorgeous boots. If you have never had a pair of custom made shoes before you will have a mind blowing experience when you try on your first pair, and second pair, and third etc There was no mistake, somehow he manages to build the shoe up around the shorter one. I get so many compliments when I wear them. If I could give Esatto 10 stars I would. And yes, he is making other shoes for me.

Boots arrived 10 months after ordering. Ill fitting out of the box. I understand all leather boots require a several month break in period. Esatto insisted I wear to show/confirm problems. Took pictures of my abused feet then sent boots back six times, at my expense, with no satisfactory results. Esatto either did not want to or did not have the ability to make boots to fit my feet. After over two years and six returns I gave up. Painful physical as well as monetary experience.

I just want to give a testimony on my experience with Esatto Custom Footwear. When I first contracted them by phone they were extremely helpful in explaining to me the process on getting my Custom Esatto Summer Boots. A pod kit was sent to ensure correct measurements. After returning the Pod Kit and upon receiving my boots, ahead of promised scheduale, they were extremely comfortable particularly since the boots contour fit my sole perfectly. I was also impressed with Esatto Custom Orthotics for additional support. Furthermore, the high quality full grain leather and durable Vibram Mini Lug Outsole are an added bonus to the many reasons why I love my Esattos Custom Summer Boots. Ive had custom and bespoke boots made before. The measuring kit I received from Esatto was much more comprehensive then any other I had seen and the boots fit better out of the box than any others. As soon as I got them I went for a two mile walk with no problems, not even any break-in period. They are Esattos Light Hiker and they honestly seem like a contradiction: buttery soft leather yet extremely rugged. Ive been wearing them every day since I got them, even to the office, despite the soles squeaking on the cork floors. I told Alex at Esatto what I would be doing, he suggested a sole and that is what I got. They say Vibram Gumlite on them and they are the perfect mix of feedback and stability. They almost bounce when I walk and I can still feel the rocks or gravel or whatever terrain Im walking on. On top of all that they seem incredibly sturdy and stable wherever I go. I also had Esatto make custom insoles. High arches and a narrow heal make over the counter shoes very difficult. The custom insoles combined with a heal that fits really is the best part about these boots. The leather liner is smooth and my foot slides in the boots so easily that I think they will just slide right out again, but they dont. The heal holds my foot comfortably in place without over tightening the laces. The real kicker here is that they were the least amount of money Ive spent on custom shoes. I have a feeling Ill be ordering another pair. Thank you Esatto.

After 20 years of consistent foot pain, I finally decided to purchase custom footwear. I usually managed okay with orthotics. For the more active times, however, I had to buy two differently sized shoes, one for my right and one for my left to make up for the full-sized difference. I realized, on a recent painful hiking trip, that I needed to invest in a better long-term solution that wouldn’t further disfigure my feet if I wanted to continue to hike and enjoy the backcountry.I did quite a bit of online research, talked to a few doctors, and narrowed my search down to 4 custom boot-makers in the United States: Esatto, one in Denver, one in Vermont, and one in Texas. I emailed each one to get a feel of their business, of their service, and of their quality. Custom boots are not cheap, and I figured I was entering into a relationship with these makers, so I might as well get to know them a bit before jumping in.Esatto Boots was warm and welcoming from the very beginning. The other boot makers took a long time to get back to me, and when they did, I was left with the impression that they weren’t really looking to make new customers - in fact, I’d have to wait 6 months to get a pair of boots. So, I decided to go with Esatto.It took the Esatto team about 6-7 weeks to turn the measurements I took of my feet into a pair of summer boots and orthotics. I’ve worn them now on two, multi-day backpacking trips of 15 and 20 miles in the Sierra Mountains close to my house. On the very first trip, after hiking only a few miles in, I realized something amazing: I had never worn shoes that fit my feet. It’s a strange feeling to say the least. Shoes have always been a little big or a little narrow. I had no idea what it was like to have the support of both shoes fitting my feet. I have similar foot problems to others who have posted. Hiking boots that never fit right, big hiking and backpacking trips that resulted in days of foot pain and lots of frustration. So after going through who knows how many off the-shelf boots, orthotics and even a trip to the podiatrist, I asked Alex to take a crack at it. The measuring process is complicated, so take the time to do it right. I may not have done this properly so the boots originally did not fit very well. I sent them back and after the remodel and a short break-in period with some daytrips, I put them to the test on a mountaineering trip. Yep, these boots are expensive but well worth it!We climbed Split Mountain last week. It involved a mile and a half of vertical over rocky terrain with scree scrambles, talus hopping, kicking steps in snow, post-holing, some 3rd class climbing and a long hike in and out with a heavy pack. My feet did not hurt - at all. Normally I would have been crippled for a few days after bagging a big back-country peak. The soles had great cohesion on the rocks and held up to all of the abuse the mountain could hand out. They stayed warm in the snow and were always comfortable. This is the first time in years that my feet did not hurt after a big outing like this. Thanks Alex!

I have had sore feet and arthritis in my feet for the last 15 years. I decided to try a custom made hiking boot. I decided to have Esatto Custom Footwear make them based on internet research. I worked with Alex and went through the fit kit and orthodics kit. I had these mailed to me and did them myself with a measuring helper. At this point I was nothing more than hopeful that the new boots and custom orthodics would be a big help to my feet. The boots arrived in a time frame that was promised. When I opened the box the and examined the boots the first thing I noticed was outstanding workmanship and top quality materials. I am picky about such things and these boots did not disappoint. Next I tried them on to see if I felt any better. These boots fit perfect and felt fantastic. I was amazed at how well they fit. I waited until I could wear them for 2 straight days of walking before making any judgements. These boots felt broke in from the first step and my foot pain was significantly reduced. For me these boots were worth the money and I am glad I bought them.
