Today my friend went to Mayers Meats to pick up a special order for me. Jennifer got me 3 bone in Pork Butts for Memorial Day Weekend. I was able to pay for them thus allowing my friend to just pick them up. He said Jennifer was very nice and easy to deal with. My son and I went to Mayers Custom meats today for the first time. It was interesting, both pleased and not so pleased. Pros...First of all their customer service is excellent. Their over all selection is pretty good and their pepper sticks are awesome! Cons...They only have a couple things that are gluten free...one of their Pepperoni stick varieties out of about twenty, and One of their summer sausages....NO Jerky, NO other smoked sausages, Brats, or sausage varieties. All are cured with a wheat based solution...ugh. They have tri tip roasts but they are relatively small and Mayers does not produce them themselves, they are bought from a distributor already cut and trimmed. The problem with that is most meat packing houses trim the fat cap off the Tri tip, which is where that incredible flavor of that cut of meat comes from. I was banking on Mayers being a custom meat shop, would process their own...nope. Kinda sad. I picked out the largest of the tri tips in their meat case and it was only 2.3 LBs. Im used to 3.75 to 4 Lb. roasts. I also wanted to buy some pork back ribs but all they had was packing house distributed ribs in a vacuum pack...again...disappointing. Overall I liked the place...Just not what I was hoping for from a custom meat store.

Their jerkey is delightful, but today I had the most amazing ribeye and without hesitation can say was the best cut of meat I have ever had in my life. Absolutely wonderful butcher.

Never heard of Mayers until my older daughter took me there before the pandemic. Not the least expensive butcher in Clark County, but their 100% locally sourced products (beef, pork, chicken) are a cut above any meat Ive bought in Clark County since the early 1980s, when I started shopping Garners in PDX w/my late Mother in Law.Well worth the cost for superb beef & pork!Stop buying mega-farmed meat, the quality suffers and so do the animals raised that way. #BuyLocalMeat its the smart thing to do!

First visit and I was very impressed. The service was outstanding and the samples were delicious. Their meat is top quality. We bought many different meats and can hardly wait to try them all. Their beef jerky is outstanding.

We have been shopping at Mayers for a few years now. Their meats are outstanding. Ground chuck makes the best burgers. Individually wrapped and sealed smoked pork chops are convenient and tasty. They have a giant assortment of pepper sticks in several flavors. They smoke all their own small hams, peppersticks, chops etc. Great bacon! And The Best whole chickens that are free range. Have never had chicken that tasted this good. Im 67 and I have been cooking whole chickens since my early 20s. The brand is Marys from Northern Calif. You will not be disappointed.

My family shops at this store often but I have only been into the store on a couple of occasions myself. Service is friendly, and the meat is reasonably priced for a local product. The best thing in the store imo is the jerky. It may give the impression of being dry at first but trust me, once you start chewing on it it actually becomes more tender and is always super flavorful. Unlike the store bought stuff. Definite two thumbs up.

Fresh meat and sausages

We had our Thanksgiving turkey smoked at Mayers and Im very happy with the results; for the past five or so years weve been ordering a smoked turkey from the big east-of-Portland butcher shop, but buying our own bird and having Mayers smoke it saved me $20-30 dollars and a trip across the river. Mayers also has a great selection of various meat cuts as well as the jerky, pepperoni, sausages, bacon, etc. you expect from a specialty meat market. The customer service, quality and selection are great, I will definitely be giving this shop my business again.

If you live in Vancouver and eat meat, theres absolutely no reason not to shop here. Great quality. Great people. Great prices. Check it out! You wont be disappointed, except to wonder why you waited so long!

Be warned, this place will makes the meat you buy from the grocery store taste like plastic. Everything Ive gotten from Mayers has been absolutely delicious. Its all fresh and local and you can taste the difference. The staff is also lovely. I never go anywhere else. 10/10

We purchased meat there a few times and we absolutely loved it! The have huge selection of meats and its always fresh! I highly recommend trying their summer sausage and beef jerky. Both of those are outstanding quality! We usually buy a big pack, 30lbs, and it is enough for a couple of months. Only for 190$!!I hope this guys will stay in business for a long time.

Went in for bones for bone broth. I am new to making bone broth and had questions. Got tons of great information from a wonderful woman behind the counter, including recommendations on bones for pho broth, types of beef, and slicing info.However, i didnt listen to one very important suggestion. She recommended that I put the crock pot in my garage while simmering because it was going to smell too good to wait. My house smells so good and I want to eat all the broth right now!!Listen to the professionals. Learn from my mistakes.

My favorite place to pick up meats. The place smells like heaven and the meats are high quality.

So cool! My husband and I want to make a special dinner for an early Mothers Day that includes pork roast with crackling, and this is the only place we could find that could help us with a skin-on cut. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, the butcher was proud to show off this amazing cut, and the meat looks like really good quality. Great prices, too. Well be back later this week to pick out some nice big steaks.

I am shocked, just visited this store. While they were only allowing so many people in at at time, almost half the customers did not wear their masks. And THREE different employees were not wearing theirs correctly. Letting them drop to either under their nose, with one employee dropping their mask to under their chin. Terrible!!!

I wanted a couple different types of jerky to bring back home in the east coast and while they didn’t have the game jerky I was looking for they were so awesome about it that I decided to get their beef jerky. I shared it with some office mates and everyone agreed that it is hands down the best jerky they have tasted. The super teriyaki is the best but honey is a close second. Definitely worth the trip!

When I was a little girl, Grandpa Becker used to give us kids a pepperoni stick when we came in the shop with our parents. Its so nice to see that this shop is still family owned any carrying on the same tradition. The brats and pepperoni are still amazingly delicious too.

I had the pleasure of meeting two of the sweetest women ever. They noticed me hanging in the back as it was busy and my first time there. One woman took the time despite how busy they were to develop a repoire with me and explain how things there worked. It changed the whole visit from lurking to purchasing. Best butcher shop in the county. The only reason they dont get a fifth star is the lack of sirloin cuts in their beef selection (specifically, sirloin cap aka Picaña).Best jerky and beef sticks, the beef is well marbled and thick cut, and super fresh.

I love this place. Every time I walk in the door, it makes me happy. The brats and jerky are amazing but I picked up a couple porterhouse steaks that were so beautiful, I had to cook them on a skillet and in the oven; just thinking about it brings a joyful man tear to my eye. Beware! We gave a couple steaks to my in-laws for their anniversary and now everyone is looking for that white paper on their special days.
