I brought 4 bikes in for a tune-up. Was told it would likely be 4 or 5 days to pick up which I thought was totally reasonable. They were done in less than 2 days, and they ride perfectly now. Technicians did a great job, were quick, and staff was professional and pleasant to deal with. I will use them again for sure.

Looks like a cool shop. When we walked in and said hello, nine employees wouldn’t answer. Tried three times and everybody looked at the floor or turned away. Literally. Something is definitely wrong here. I have budget for two new bikes. This reception told me they don’t need another customer. See ya.

I just did the below review on service that I was not happy with.Probably within 15 minutes the owner Wesley called and texted me to apologize and make it right.Very impressed with how nice that was and the level of customer service he showed.I will definitely be going back and being a return customer.Wesley thanks again for the great customer service!Dropped my bike off to repair the cassette andget a new chain. When I picked it up the bike had a rear flat tire.They said they did not puncture the tire. Tire was fine when I dropped it off on Wednesday picked it up Monday and it was flat.What bothered me about this they did not try to make it right or even split the cost of the tube.Poor customer service on their part, did not even say sorry just that will be an additional 26 dollars.Will not be going back.

They have a large selection of bicycles tricycles regular and electric plus clothing, ridng gear, its a great place. Plus they have a fantastic service department. Staff is very friendly very helpful very knowledgeable.

My husband and I recently rented hybrid bikes from Bicycles International to ride the Legacy Trail. What a great experience. The staff were exceptionally professional, friendly and accommodating. They gave us maps to get to the trail and spent some time showing us the features of each bike, both in impeccable shape. It was nice not to have to worry about where to leave our car for the day because they have a sizable parking lot (behind the store). Would definitely rent (or buy) from them again. ~ Joanne

Sadly they dont do refunds . Bought an item the gentleman told me would work for my bike and it didnt . Went to return it the same day and was told they dont do refunds and got store credit . I could had easily bought this part online for $6 rather than $16 but hought I would give my business even if its a tiny $16 to a local company . I was thinking of getting a new road bike preferably locally but this is what keeps customers shopping on Amazon and online

Bought a new bike in January and took delivery on August 5th. When I arrived the bike was exactly what I ordered and of course because of Covid they charged $80 more for the bike which I feel is not right. I went back to get handlebars adjust and needed another part for the adjustment🤦‍♂️...which I got. Today go out for ride and handle bars were not tightened all the way...I tested at shop before leaving and it was good. Got about 2 miles into ride and almost fell off. They are a good place but make sure you ask all the questions about your bike and ask for an overview because they did not offer. Maybe its new help but they still should go over the bike with you before you leave not just collect money

My first time using this retailer for bike maintenance on my mountain bike took 12 days to get two brand new tires and tubes a new chain for full tuneup including new oil in my front fork and brand new locking grips for the handlebars grips were the wrong color of what I requested and what was installed but the owner did me a solid and gave me the grips they installed for half price to make up for not installing the grips I ordered I never received a phone call when my bike was done as promised thank God I stop by the store and checked in person and it was already done other than not getting a phone call when my bike was done being serviced and repaired I am happy with the quality of all the materials that were replaced on my bike and how well the bike was tuned it was twice the cost of a regular tuneup from my old cycle repair shop but the quality of the repair was worth the cost overall I give them four stars out of five I would’ve gave them a five star rating if they would’ve called me to let me know my bike was done and I would have not had to stop by in person to check on my mountain bike otherwise I’m very pleased with my service.... I will use them in the future for maintenance on my mountain bike

Great customer service, great mechanics!!I hate to be without my bike, but it had multiple problems and needed repairs. Even though it is busy season here in Florida, they were able to schedule the repair so I got it back in just a few days. The staff listened to my concerns about the bike and talked about the best options for me. Although they offer higher level bikes, they had no problem making helpful suggestions for my old hybrid bike. They were able to repair my rickety old fenders instead of just selling me new ones. I was given an estimate of the charges ahead of time and contacted during the repairs. For all the work that was done, it was a great price. I cant believe how smoothly it rides now, better than when it was new!! When I have more time, I like to browse through their nice collection of bike accessories! Another great experience at this great shop.

Brought my beaten up cheap bicycle in for tire and misc repairs. They had it repaired same day for amazing price. They didnt recommend anything it didnt need and were very professional

Bicycles International in Venice had just the right recumbent trike for us. Steve, the salesman, was helpful and professional. Tim delivered the trike the same day as purchased. The best bike shop in Sarasota county. I ride 150+ miles a week and need minor repairs often. I always get my bike back in pristine condition and PROMPTLY. The ONLY thing... When you pull in, drive (slowly) to the back lot, the front is tricky with 41 right there.

Great selection and very helpful! We rented two bikes for a four day trip to Key West. The Cannondale rental bikes were in excellent condition and came with two bottle holders and a small spare kit. Thanks to the entire team for everything! Bye the way, Florida is a great place to do trips like this at least in the winter season!

Bicycles International is the best bike shop on the west coast of Florida. Totally flexible. They helped me fine the perfect bikes (3) for my family this Christmas. I’ve only briefly met the owner Wesley but in that short time consider him a friend. If you’re looking for a bike look nowhere else.

Not impressed. Kinda pricey. I paid almost 200 for a basic tune. Really I just wanted to replace my tubes for Schrader valves because they sold me presta a while back. They start saying I need new gears, new chain hiking up the price. I just bought this bike brand new and barely use it!! I dont know.. I felt like I was being upcharged and i really dont have extra money to spend on non-essentials like that. I only went here because theres not really any other bike shops around.

Very helpful and knowledgeable crew, will buy our next bike there again.

I am rarely one to write a review but when customer service is this stunningly bad I felt like I had to say something. I brought in my bike for a tune up. It had been in storage and I just wanted to make sure it was safe to ride. Pretty standard request I thought. I picked it up and took it to the bike path for a ride. Within 20 minutes pieces pieces started falling off the the bike. I almost ran into an elderly couple and had to carry the bike back home. When I brought it back to the shop Wesley, the owner, alluded that if I had paid more they might have done a better job. Then he threw the guy that helped me under the bus by saying he was new and didn’t know what he was doing. He actually acted like I was bothering him by bringing this to his attention. I’m shocked at how terrible the customer service was.Update: Thanks for the reply Wesley. My first name is Richard but my middle name that I go by is Devlin and you are correct my last name is McNamara. I appreciate you clarifying that. You absolutely did get my white and gold redline bike turned around in ten minutes. This actually would not have been an issue if you had been a little more understanding of what I had just experienced and not quite as rude to me as well as your own employee. Congratulations on having such a successful business that you don’t have to be concerned about such things.

Got an aluminum frame bike for the week for about $125 with pedals for my shoes. Staff very friendly and helpful not just getting me a bike that I wanted but also about trails in the area with details down to heads up about glass in bike lanes on a certain street.

Rented road bikes here for a ride on the Legacy trail. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic, and found bikes to fit me (54) and my wife (52). Bikes were excellent Cannondale aluminum frame disc brake models that were tuned perfectly, shifted quietly and accurately all day. Good quality helmets and a seat bag with a flat kit also came with the rental. Shop is located close to the Venice Waterway trail, which connects with the Legacy trail at the Venice Depot. Provided a very pleasant day of biking for the two of us while in the area on vacation.

Some systems on bicycles are simple straightforward fixes. These days when you’re dealing with electronic shifting, repairs become a whole new deal.I ran some preliminary diagnostics myself and got nowhere. At that point, I was getting a little nervous that I would never have my bike running properly again.I called the shop and spoke to Keven. He walked me through the diagnostic process and then calmed me down. I quickly loaded my bike into my vehicle and brought it to the shop. Keven checked me in and told me there was an expert with Shimano bicycle electronics on their staff, Don. Now I had two mechanics looking after my bike and I was starting to feel comfortable believing they were going to figure it out. Keven told me it would be a couple of hours, so I left and went home. While I was gone, Don got on the phone and on his laptop to run more in-depth diagnostics. Don then communicated his findings with a technician at Shimano‘s office. Don and Shimano went back-and-forth and got things figured out. Using technology resources at Shimano is definitely going “above and beyond” to make sure the repair is done properly. Don identified all of the issues and figured out that it was a faulty battery.Now for the best part of the story. Bicycles international went above and beyond the call of duty and found a battery on another bike to swap out. That worked perfectly and Don had me back on the road the same day. Other repair shops may have waited a week to get the replacement part in stock. That would’ve been terrible.The next day I got up and rode the bike 45 miles and shifted 145 times, everything works perfectly.I couldn’t be more pleased with how things were handled. Thanks to the owners for getting me a battery on the spot. I owe you guys an iced coffee.Thanks!

Needed to have my bike tires replaced. Women on the phone was so helpful. Since my bike rack no longer fit on my new car she offered an at home repair! Kevin, who was very knowledgeable replaced the tires, tubes and checked the bike over. Service with social distancing was excellent and quick. My old sentimental bike looks like new... Very happy

Just took my bike in for a new chain, cassette, brake line and bottom bracket. Great job. My bike is much easier to ride now, like it was when I bought it last year. Steve was pretty knowledgeable and I got a pretty honest vibe from them. Highly recommend.

I have been very impressed with Bicycles International so far. I purchased a 6000$ Quiet Kat Ridge Runner E-bike online from a different vendor & have been having trouble finding a competent facility that I could trust with my baby. Most say that if they didnt sell it they wont work on it. NOT THE CASE WITH THESE FOLKS. I have been dealing with the technician Steve & couldnt be more impressed. I manage an auto repair facility here in Venice however I know when a job is beyond me & most everything I have needed so far fits that bill.They have tracked down parts, trouble shot issue/s that others cant or wont, which is time consuming & can be frustrating.Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.Thanks to the whole crew there @ Bicycles International for the outstanding service I have received up to this point.KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK & ILL SEE YOU AGAIN FOR ALL MY BICYCLE NEEDS!!!

Just moved to the Venice area from Michigan and was looking for a bike shop that I could build a long relationship with and I think I found it. As luck would have it two out of our four bikes were in need of service. So like all new comers to the area I turned to the internet. Bicycle International had great reviews and was close by. Staff was friendly knowledgeable and professional. They helped me unload and bring the bikes in for service. Went over the bikes and completed the repairs as I waited at more than a fair price. While I was there I had the opportunity to browse around and was very impressed by the shop and personnel. Even checked out a couple new bikes, now if I can only convince my wife that we have room for them 😂 or maybe see if they take trade-ins!

Walked in searching for perfect bike for a short little older lady and was met with a friendly smile and great advise. Walked out the proud owner of a Townie. Although inventory is low everywhere I was lucky to find my bike in a perfect color freshly assembled. Also in 90 days I bring it back for a complete check up. Was thrilled to have chosen this shop and recommend anyone that is now spending time on a bike with the virus to use Bicycles International as your place to turn to for all your needs. Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable.

I happen to be in Venice over the weekend and was helping a friend locally saw a bicycle in his garage and we wanted up at bicycles international. The owner was really accommodating I explain to her what I wanted what my needs were and she came out with a bicycle and handed it to me and instructed me to ride it around the parking lot. It’s really the first time that I’ve gotten on a bicycle and felt so comfortable and enjoyed the performance of the bike itself in the ease of its Gearing and components. Purchasing the bicycle here was a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a bicycle in the Venice area.

Not only was the staff extremely knowledgeable about older model bikes but also had quite a bit of information to convey to me in order for me to make the best choice for my riding.had a decent stock of mountain bike stuff which was quite a surprise. This place is amazing! They are always helpful and never make you feel rushed when trying to make decisions. I had my new PIVOT bike shipped down from my friend in CT and needed to be put together. They didnt even blink an eye that I wasnt able to purchase this type of bike from them. I have a recumbent Cruzbike and the awesome staff at Bicycles International was able to fix my flat on the spot. Our bike mechanic also noticed that the derailleur wasn’t working well- something I had been putting up with after another shop wasn’t able to fix it. Bicycles International correctly diagnosed the problem as incorrect size crank ring. They ordered and replaced in 2 days and my bike works perfectly! All for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

I had an appointment for my trike because it was clicking in 10th gear. The Service Tech replaced a small part -tech had a good eye. It was by the derailer to the chain tube. He noticed it was slightly bent and loose/ thread was damaged. I had side mirrors put on also. Everyone was nice and reasonable price. I would go back again and recommend them.

Walked up was greeted by larger older red haired employ who told me the store was closed she said they were bringing all the bikes out individually. So I to be d her I was looking for a cheap mountain bike 250 to 300 she scoffed and said not going to happen. Didnt even get another word in have plenty of more money to spend on a bike just didnt know where to start so I guess Ill just let the experience speak for how disgusted I am.

My wife and I bought 2 bikes from International the staff and management were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. A great selection of bikes and accessories. Nice place if your looking to have your bike repaired as well. I highly recommend...

These guys aren’t as bad as the people at Real Bikes in Bird Bay Plaza. They are never to busy or arrogant and will make eye contact and greet you when you enter unlike the people at Real Bikes. They try to help and never treat you like you’re interrupting them like the people at Real Bikes in Bird Bay Plaza.

Great store. Rich answered all my questions. Listened for what I was looking for and fitted me for the perfect bike and explained the different choices. Got a great bike without breaking the bank. I’m a bigger guy so choices and prices are always an issue. Had the bike ordered and put together at there shop in less then a week. Rich and the guys have passion for there craft and care for there customers. Nice to see people have passion and pride for what they do.

Took my Cannondale (which had been stored in my garage for far too long to admit) to BI for service. I can’t say enough great things about this shop. My 6 y/o bike looks brand new and rides better than new. How fortunate to have moved to Venice and have BI so close to my home. Thanks BI

Took my husbands bike for service for several maintenance needs. They did a fantastic job!

Just got my first bike from them today. It took a while due to covid but by the time I got there they had my bike assembled, the right pedals were on there and I spent an hour asking them newbie questions and they answered all of them. They never once acted annoyed or as if I was bothering them. I definitely recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I went out looking for a new mountain bike for him during the quarantine. We were about to walk into the store when a lady asks “may I help you?” (Due to social distancing, they had employees outside asking customers what they’re looking for). My boyfriend replies “Yes actually, I was looking for a mountain bike around $2-300.” The lady literally replies “Not going to happen.” Proceeds to turn around and walk away. What terrible customer service, you couldn’t even give a recommendation on where to get a bike in that price range? Very rude and unnecessary at that.

My wifes bike suffered a rear flat tire while on the Legacy Trail inside Venice. Top (in his mobile bike repair lab) got us back up and running in no time. He replaced the rear tire and tube. This place is Top Notch, professional and reasonably priced. BTW, our service call was done on Christmas Eve afternoon. Needless to say, we are very Merry after our experience!

Brought my bike in after another dealer did not service it correctly. Staff was courteous and professional.Spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing the problem and had it fixed the next day at a nominal cost.

In the past year, weve had bikes serviced and tires replaced at reasonable and fair expense. Everyone in the shop is expert in their knowledge and super to work with. Great place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I went there with an electrical problem on my electric Sun bike. It ended up only being a cord that came disconnected. They didnt charge me anything for it. And fix my seat in the process which only cost me $6. I would recommend them two anybody who has a bicycle and needs maintenance or repairs.

I just purchased a bike from Bikes International and had a great experience. They were very helpful and found the bike to fit my needs. I am new to riding and didnt know it could be this much fun with a nice bike and great people to make sure your ride is safe and enjoyable. They are under new ownership and you can tell they care.
