Liked it here at first glance. But thats usually the case with any book store. Prices were on par with most, still cheaper than Barnes & not-so-Noble...Has a coffee shop built in. The employees with the masks on were my biggest concern. I couldnt understand the woman at the checkout... felt awkward 😕The lady vacuuming would scramble to adjust hers everytime I walked by... just an overall tense vibe because of the masks and the fear they promote.Wont be returning...Felt to uptight.

Mean people work there. Overheard them making fun of a customer for asking if they had books on Bigfoot. Then my item rang up 5 dollars higher even though the sale price was on the tag! Had to argue with the young male working there to get correct price. Next time I will order my books online.

Great book store that has a good selection of reading material for every genre and sub genre you could be interested.

They suggested a membership and I could order online and ship free. Bought tgemembwrship but twocashiers tried to order books and ship. Couldnt do. I took card home. Easy to find books, took one hour for app to figure out I was a member even though I logged on using the welcome email they sent. Then they charged me 3 times. All different amounts wish I had ever gone in. I will use Amazon next time, easier and cheaper.

Great books. Nice selection for all age groups and a full clearance bin worth a couple of looks over. Coffee is available. Clerks very helpful and knowledgeable. If youre in the area frequently, it would be beneficial to join their club which insures free shipping and other nice perks. Stop by and have a look.

Very well stocked and pleasing to the eye. I could easily spend a couple hours just browsing.

For gifts for people who like to read, I go to Books-A-Million to buy a gift card for birthdays.

Air was broke so it was muggy in the store but associates were nice, just a little understaffed (like every where) good sales and clearance items and the new Smore Frozen Hot Chocolate from Joes Coffee was delicious!

I just get there to buy a book and I finished to got a subscription an a magasine from nowhere. The cashier told me that I could pick a free magasine and with no explanation from him, he subscribed me to a magasine that I am even not interested with. After he took all my informations and asked me to sign a document I understood what was going on. I am very upset and I really feel that this cashier didn’t do his job properly. I love books and I would have been a repeated customer if I didn’t get through this bad experience. I hope he will keep his promise to cancel right away this subscription because I will make sure to check very precisely my account.

Club membership (BAM) costs yearly for 10% discount on purchases, which doesnt make up for costly book prices.Asked for KID BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, Juan O. Savin, they did not have it, and could not get it after checking their computer.Good sales on racks outside!

Bought 6 books, (4) Dragon slayer for one sons series, and wanted to get (3) i forget the title now, for my other sons series. He tried to get the 4 books up in the Bradenton location but were out of stock, was told Venice had them. So I go get the 4 dragon slayer books and the gentleman tells me they only have the 3rd issue of my other sons series. I purchased the third, makes no sense to have the 3rd, and not the 1st and 2nd before hand. I asked to have them mailed to the house and he tells me that it cost $5 something a book to ship as they use a third party company to distribute books they do not have, and that they can not order the books themselves for us to pick up. No way around the $5 something per book to ship. Thats bull****! Said I would just have to wait for a truck and hopes that it the books I want are on it?!?!? Might want to change the name to Books-a-thousands or Books-shipped-4-$5bucks. Nice employees. No stranger things merch, shame.

Great store. Well stocked and eager staff to help you find something. If they dont have it, will order it. The rewards program, although free, is still worth the small price if you shop regularly. As much as I like the convenience of ebooks, there is nothing like holding ink and paper. Long live the printing press.

A lot of things I wanted were to pricey! I could wait a day or 2 and get pretty much everything I wanted of Amazon cheaper. But its convenient if you need a book right away.

Books A Million in Venice has a great a great relaxed atmosphere. You can get a latte from Joe Mugs and read a book or catch up with old friends. Its also s great place to do homework.

Situated next to a Walmart store, I took the opportunity to hitch a ride with my sister-in-law and have me dropped off at the book shop.I finished reading the book that I had brought with me on the flight from Sydney, Australia to the USA. I needed another book for the trip back to Oz. Books-A-Million were offering great discounts so with the budget I had set myself, I was able to buy 5 books. This place is super cozy and they have tons of books to choose from, hence the name. They have a coffee place connected on the inside and its pretty affordable. All in all a very nice book store and they will almost definately have what your looking for.

Fast and friendly. Employees treat you like guests in their home. They like their place of work and it shows. They dont treat you like a customer or duty of their job. Its more like fellowship in a friends house.

Went to this location to go to Joe Muggs and was treated very rudely by the girl at the front desk I was alone and out running errands just looking for a good cup of joe and ended up leaving and going to McDonalds due to the harassment from the young lady running the front desk that morning or check out cashier.

Great shopping experience. Found everything I was looking for and so much to choose from. The staff was very helpful, especially Susan, who found discounts that helped out the total. I am very pleased.

This is one of the best books a millions. I love it so much. I have been coming here since I was a child the staff has always been very kind and helpful. They have a pretty wide selection of books and their patio was a wonderful place to share meal and conversation

Great place to shop for books, even bargain books. I wish they had some comfy chairs on which to sit though. Coffee is served there, if you like. I found a book there that I will cherish for a long time, titled, Miss Burma. We go there every few months.

Really jammed packed now with every topic available. They have a wonderful new toy section....not junky..kind of the best of the best. Sometimes its good to peruse a book, especially if Im flying as Amazon gives you the titles but not the feel and text size. Impressive selection.

Ive been going there since the day it was open. over the years the staff has been consistently helpful. Great place for tutoring and just hanging out with your kids. Good prices and great discounts. And Joes Cafe has excellent coffee!

I have alwayd loved Books-a-million over other bookstores. Their atmosphere is so calming and relaxing, that sometimes I just go to veg out and check out some books! Plus I enjoy their Jug Mugs coffee as well!

I dont usually get books from a brick and motar store, but its nice that we still have one in South Sarasota County. Most of the bookstores are closing these days due to Amazon. My daughter and I went to buy a book for her friends birthday party. They are good for gifty type items and they do have a lot of books. They just revamped the whole store, so items may take longer to find, but the young lady on staff helped me find what I needed in a couple minutes. The staff seems to be almost too laid back, but I dont know what their pay is like. They were nice enough to give me a discount even though Im not a member. Their coffee shop is good too. You should probably visit before all these places are gone.

The place was undergoing renovation/reorganization when I came in, so it was hard to find what I wanted. Found some stuff old enough to be covered in dust. The staff was friendly and made the trip better, but bookstores like this are making it obvious that online/digital stores are winning the retail war.

I only wish it wasnt such a pain to check out. Every time I bring my daughter here they barrage us with offers at the check out or ask for donations to some charity and surveys and book clubs. I see why its easier to just go on Amazon theres not someone trying to nickle and dime ya at the checkout.

Would be 5 stars if seating was better.. currently set up to make sure that comfortable seating is in cafe section to entice you sense of smell to spend more. Could use some recliners thrusting make a more enjoyable visit. Also the homeless loitering outside of store is a nuisance.

Who doesnt love Books-A-Million I expecially appreciate the fact that they have my favorite radio personality Howard Stern right up front with his new book even though his show has changed quite a bit from his beginnings its still nice to see him making works of art if you will

Im not a huge fan of big chain bookstores, and consider Books-A-Million to be in that category. However, this store really does a nice job. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable, the store is clean and organized, and I always find something new and interesting. I will keep coming back.
