First let me say that I know Covid has taken it’s toll on many small businesses. This could be the situation here.As you walk up to the establishment the first thing I noticed was the glass doors and windows are very dirty. This is a flag that the business may be in distress. I was greeted and received good service.The sitting area was dirty and the floors needed to be mopped. There is busy dirt and there is dirty dirt- this was dirty dirt. There was a glass case like thing on the ledge - it was covered in dust and cobwebs. The trashcan needed a good washing. Behind the counter to the right of where you order food- a freezer that had stuff piled up. It was a disaster.I would suggest the owners close down 2 days and clean and organize. It would provide a better experience for your customers.It would be nice if you provided hand sanitizer at the door. You should probably be wearing plastic gloves when handling food. Please take this as constructive criticism- I know things are tough.

We stopped by on our scooters and enjoyed a great Afternoon Delight (coffee/espresso ice cream) and a black cherry ice cream in a waffle cone.Was just what we were looking for on a hot June afternoon-- thank you!!

Seems like a nice place, however I think maybe just stick to selling ice cream the coffee tastes like water :(

Came here for a late night sweet, the woman working was very friendly and very helpful! I got the salted Carmel pretzel and it was so tasty!! Definitely will be coming back next time I’m in town

Brought my kids in there for ice cream after an amazing dinner at Leones next door and the owners were so friendly and the homemade ice cream was delicious. Family fun atmosphere I wish I would have bought a carton for the freezer! Ill definitely be back.

We walked in to order ice cream and buy a few extra quarts as well. The lady behind the counter was not wearing a mask or gloves and she was handling food! There are no signs anywhere about masks, social distancing anywhere. Ofcourse we walked out and found a great icecream shop that practices safety procedures and spent our money there. Why would anyone go to a food establishment that does not take their customers safety seriously?

The all beef hot dogs were very good.

Stopped by there instead of going to Starbucks... worst idea ever. The lady is rude. Doesn’t know anything about making coffee. Wasn’t wearing a mask. Asked for iced coffee and she added hot espresso to the ice with hot milk. Needless to say, I received an iced water with milk and a shot of espresso. Then top it off I asked for mocha and received sugar free. Won’t stop there again. Especially when she argues and says that’s not the way to do it.

Not terrible but not great. It was really hot inside. Ice creamb itself was good but it lacked ambiance and comfort. Will try again; cant imagine that COVID-19 has done them any favors. 🥺

Fantastic little ice cream shop with much more. Only stopped in for a quick cone but the staff was friendly and helpful. Ice cream was a hit with my girls as well. Hoping to have a chance to try them for lunch.

I really tried liking this place but every time I went I was disappointed. The first time I went was for ice cream and the place was empty. The ice cream was overpriced and honestly not that good. I decided to give it another chance and get some coffee. I got charged $5.25 for a tiny cup of watery gross coffee. This place has potential and I see that they were trying to be a cute little coffee and ice cream cafe but they failed miserably at it everything from the interior design/atmosphere of the restaurant, the prices, customer service, and taste.

Bad coffee, worse service. Ordered 2 iced lattes, the guy made them hot. When we told him they were supposed to be iced he just dumped ice in the hot latte?? Wasnt sweet, paid like $6 each for a flavored latte that was bitter. Asked for some more syrup/liquid sugar in there, and the guy just puts some extra caramel drizzle on top. Im sure the ice cream is fine because you cant really mess that up but dont put coffee in your name if you cant train your staff to make an iced latte, especially one thats over $5.

This was my first experience at a Big Olaf Ice Cream and Coffee shop. The establishment was clean and orderly, the staff was pleasant and aimed to make our visit enjoyable. My sister ordered a Latte and enjoyed her coffee as well as a coffee cake. There is a wide selection of coffee and Homemade Ice Cream as well as drinks, bakery goods and snacks. Horrible customer service. Called to place an order that I have had from there a couple times. Instead of two large frozen espresso ice creams with Carmel, I arrived to find 2 cups of ice cream somewhat melted by the espresso and Carmel. When I expressed that it wasnt what I normally got there or expected, he said to mix them. Then it turned liquid instead of frozen. I felt bad so I still paid for one, but couldnt bring the other to my coworker. I asked to pour it in another cup, and it was only filled halfway. Thats when he said I ordered a medium. But charged me for a large. He did nothing at all to fix the mistake. Only got angry when I said I was leaving a bad review. This is the only bad review I have ever left. Please see picture of what I was charged almost $8 for. And he threw the 2nd one away. Better service getting a frappe from McDonalds and half the price.

Love this place. I have stopped a couple of times and the place is adorable and the owners very friendly. I love their ice cream (lots of flavors). I plan on trying their their coffee and other items they offer. Hope they do well. Like to see a local business succeed.

Took my granddaughter she tasted 3 flavors before making her decision. I had sugar-free vanilla with caramel in a cup it was awesome and my granddaughter had cookie dough and a large waffle cone and she loved it would highly recommend this place to anyone.Very clean, very polite people .

Icecream and drinks are JUST ok. Hours are erratic and not updated online here or elsewhere, service is sloooow, seems a bit overpriced for what you get, and fear mongering politics loudly blaring on the TV... I was hoping to make this a normal stop when in town, but I probably wont be back.

A fine coffee shop, indeed.I patronized Big Olafs while in the area, and my experience couldnt have been better. The folks there were friendly, and fast with my coffee (and they kindly obliged my request for a weird, single-shot Americano -- and offered some smiling conversation, to boot!). Likewise, the restaurant itself was clean and enjoyable, both on the quiet, shady patio and in the spacious dining room (dont see many coffee shops with a grand piano parked in the corner). I broke out a packed lunch, and sipped good, organic coffee while reading a good book and watching the world go by -- wonderful! I had no problems during my visit, and would gladly return.My sincere thanks goes out to all associated with this business. I am grateful for, and have benefited from, your work and service. Keep it up!

Nice place but average coffee. I ordered a cappuccino and it barely contained any coffee in my opinion, it mostly tasted like steamed milk. Ive never seen an espresso beverage being done so fast, actually I cant recall noticing when was the espresso shot made, making me feel it was already there. The only thing I remember being made was the steamed milk as the machine is fairly loud. My cappuccino was made in about a minute l, which is record time I guess, but probably not a good signal. Also the method of preparing the beverage was Uh... Questionable. The end result was of course unsatisfactory and Im my opinion too milky and sweet, especially considering I didnt have any additives or sugar since I like coffees natural taste. The place nevertheless looks nice and I might give the food a try another day and change the review depending on that, and see if they make the coffee better.P.S. How many espresso shots do you use?

5 Stars for the CHAI Tea latte itself. Hands down like a Thanksgiving and Christmas movie on the hallmark channel, in a cup. However the sort of vibe, feel or aura of the place was kind of silent and dead. Made me think of a morgue almost. Obviously large selection of ice cream and the food is okay (prob not for the price though 😅) Honestly though the chai tea latte was just pure awesome.

Cute shop with good coffee. Ice cream looked great, as did their other items. Will give them a try eventually. Just mainly looking for a decent coffee place still open at 4PM. This works.

I love everything about big Olaf’s. I had a breakfast sandwich and it was amazing the eggs were fluffy and perfect my hot chocolate was better than any where else and super chocolatety and the ice cream was just perfect. The owners are super nice and I only have good things to say. Amazing and will definitely be coming back more

It’s a small family run business with a new and fabulous owner.The ice cream is hand made by Amish communities in Sarasota, with a creamy delicious 40 flavor option.Perfect for kids, adults, and everyone to come together; sit and stay, or run in and out.

I had been here once before and lady at counter(owner?) was rude. Went back a second time to give them another chance as I try to support local businesses and yep she was rude yet again and ice cream tasted like it had freezer burn. Don’t waste your money here, go to Scoops instead!

Im sure the ice cream at this place is amazing as that is what is known for. However, I had a really bad experience with the customer service and I ordered a coffee which was terrible. The woman was abrasive and was talking to herself and it was unprofessional. Again I am sure this location has great food and ice cream however their coffee and customer service was lacking. I was charged over 6 dollars for my coffee when it should have been about 3.75. I could not argue with the woman because she misunderstood my order and didnt care to hear what I was saying.

I had a demicious muffin and a rich espresso. The ice cream and sandwiches ordered by other people looked delicious, although I didnt try them, myself. They have a piano and I am a pianist, so they allowed me to entertain for a few minutes. Lovely experience.

I could not be more disappointed. 2 dogs ... $15. Both awful. So called chacago dog and American. Mine didnt even have the seeds on the bun. Owers were rude . I went around noon . We were the only ones there. Gross

Stopped in the area and was treated to some artisanal Amish ice cream. Many flavors to choose and some I’ve never seen before. We were able to try out a few before making my decisions. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had food offerings as well; like hotdogs and burgers, sandwiches etc. However the cutest thing was seeing how the owner was dressed as big Olaf himself and made my little nephew very happy. Great place for a kids ice cream birthday party with a magician etc. Wish there was something like this near my home.Thanks again!

I only chose this place for the icecream seats/bench, I thought it would be a great place. Ice cream was good but the food was way overpriced for what it was. We ordered hotdogs for $7 ea and they were microwaved??? They dont even try to hide it, you can hear the microwave open and close and the buttons beeping. For $7 I dont think I should be getting barely warm hotdogs, smh. I could only imagine the other items.For $7 youre better off going to Walmart buy a 24 pk and microwave it at home. Spent almost $30 there not worth the trip. Also, when we went up to pay we waited like 3 min for the lady to notice we were there. Trying not to be rude to interrupt her impotant business but she was on the phone the whole time. Im sorry but if youre at work at least act like you wanna be there. Find a different career if youre unhappy with where you are now. NOT a good first impression wont be coming back. SMH.

Open at 8 am. Stood at door for a few minutes after 8 am. Woman was inside setting up for the day but did not acknowledge me.

It is not the same ice cream as in siesta key. My ice cream had pieces of ice. My husband asked for an add of fudge and it was less than a tea spoon of it. Very disappointed
