I got a flat tire only a block away from Mavis tires and breaks.THANK GOD. ! They were wonderful there. I pulled in and didn’t have to wait long. The nice man behind the counter, Vell came and looked at it and told me he would put my spare on for free. He gave me further instruction on the tire & I was GOOD TO GO IN NO TIME FLAT.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. The worker was SO KIND AND REALLY TOOK CARE OF IT LIKE A PROFESSIONAL!!

The service here was very good. They were. Luis was very attentive and quick to get my vehicle in for assessment. I had previously had these tires put on at the Mavis in New Lennox, but they had failed to add the road hazard protection unbeknownst to me. Although I didn’t have it, Luis went on ahead and honorarily repaired the tire anyways, since I had proof of purchase at a Mavis franchise. I appreciate the service here!!!

Service is about the small things. Not only did they quickly check pressure and fill my tires they had great attitudes about it. I called ahead and went straight over. The guys had smiles on their faces and were more then happy to help. They got me in and out in minutes. Let them take care of you.

As a woman, with vehicle knowledge, its difficult to be treated honestly and fairly. Enter: MAVIS!I had a nail in my tire and they were super honest, super fast, and removed it before it was able to fully puncture the tire. I was not spoken down to, I was treated kindly. I presented the issue and they immediately trouble-shooted, and fixed it! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.We have had tires replaced here countless times and even brakes done on a previous vehicle the night before a long-planned, long-distance road trip.Please support this business with your time and your money. They deserve it fully and are one of the few honest and knowledgeable pull-in mechanic shops around.

Every thing was just right.Costumer service, work done and honesty.I took my car to dealer and he found $4000 worth leaks. I did not do any thing. I never saw a drop of fluid or oil when I park my car.So I went to Mavis and they checked and did oil change and told me everything else was fine.I give them 7 star for honesty. I came to their location with a flat tire while 38 weeks pregnant and with my 2 year old. Needless to say I was stressed... Turns out there was a nail in the tire. Vell was amazing and took my car in back right away to fix it and explained everything along the way. They took care of me and made sure I was comfortable while they mended the tire. After giving the service rep, all the information and in depth detail of the damage. Do not say you can repair a tire over the phone and mislead your customer into driving 2 hours and bringing the said wheel and tire to say you couldnt repair it.Extremely inconsiderate of wasting peoples time. Used to go here when it was NTB and loved it. You always know that when dealing with cars you are going to be pushed into getting more done than you want by my experience yesterday felt like I was being blatantly lied to and taken advantage of and that fear tactics were in play in order for me to do what they wanted me to do.Long story short went to get a flat repaired and was told it could be done and then was called back 3 minutes later and was told tire needed be replaced and so did all 4 of my tires immediately. Took the tire to a local place and had it repaired in 10 minutes with no issue. Maybe that was just their professional opinion but truly didnt feel right.

Horrible experience here! I waited over six hours one day and then instructed me to return the next day. They then told me the tires were out of stock. I will never return nor recommend them!

Like the previous reviewer said, they definitely use scare tactics- specifically the current manager. Got a call when getting new tires put on and I was told we needed all new brakes and more. When I looked at the back brakes they looked practically new and the front brakes were not ‘metal on metal’ as I was told. We got the best deal on tires here but it is not worth the headache. You would think after getting four new tires the tire pressure would be perfect but that evening my indicator light went on and when I checked the tire pressure and all four tires were very low so I had the pleasure of (after paying $1,100 for getting new tires) checking and filling the tire pressure myself. I went to our regular mechanic and he said we prob have 15,000 miles left on the front breaks, when Mavis told me I shouldn’t even be driving it and needed to spend $800 more dollars to be safe. AVOID THIS PLACE! 👎

I returned after buying tires and a package with rebalancing from NTB. To be sure I called them and the Customer Service confirmed that Mavis still supports the NTB warranty for free.So I went there, upon check in I again was confirmed it would be covered.Now, after waiting for about an hour they called to let me know that balancing is NOT covered and wanted to charge. After talking to the store manager still same info.So I learned: don’t rely on their statements, go somewhere else.(Also this store seems to like to sell wiper blades since that was their first question.)Badly disappointed!! Never again.

Very rude and forgot to put my lock/key for my locking lugnut and said they would not keep. After calling another store and having them call the part was found.

I NEVER wanted to return to Mavis after my first bad experience I had there, (5 weeks prior) when I had my brakes and calipers replaced, but I was having issues with my brakes and had to return.EDIT: I have updated my review after speaking with the regional manger, who was very pleasant, understanding and sensitive to the issue I had at the store. Thank you for listening and taking action to rectify the situation.

I stopped at Mavis for new tires and Paul and Jason helped in a big way. They were very courteous and honest and let me know that my tires were in good shape for the winter season. They noticed that my car was lagging a bit when starting and they performed a complimentary battery test and it turned out that my battery was on its last leg. Paul was able to locate my battery right away and had it installed in minutes. I’m very grateful they were able to check my battery and let me know it was dying, the last thing I want is to be stranded in the cold. Thank you Paul & Jason I’ll be back when I need new tires.

Called in for an alignment and got serviced the same day

I was on my way home and noticed my car had the low tire pressure gauge came on . I pulled in to Mavis Tires and Brakes. Nick was awesome . My tire was repaired and I could have not been happier.

Called to ask about availability for a set of tires and the clerk over the phone is extremely rude and pushy I think his name was Scott, he doesn’t know anything about what he’s doing and acts like he doesn’t want to do his job, very snappy and hung up on me for asking availability on a set of kuhmo tires

Ive been coming here for years and have bought multiple sets of tires, battery replacement and alignments. Their prices are very competitive, the service is fast and professional and they will shoot you straight on what needs to be done. Good group of guys and will use them again when needed.

Poorly quality services. I installed new brakes. After about 2 weeks, noises came out from rear brakes. Sometimes there were bad smells from rear brakes after commuting drivings on local roads. Eventually they told me rear brakes needed to be replaced after only 1 year since they were installed. Trust me, their services do not worth the money I spent.

Service is okay. They really try to hustle older people and people who don’t know how to use the internet. While waiting for my service, try tried to screw over two people and only stopped when I told the people the truth about what can actually be done to create a solution. They people were grateful and walked out of the place. Never going back.

We took in our 2007 Chevy Equinox for 2 new tires and an alignment. No type of notices or any on the dashboard. Came out looking like a Christmas tree!! PSI light on, Service tire monitor system service stabilytrak Check tire pressure. My dashboard no longer shows the pressure for the 2 back tires. Its crazy! My husband says he was told it was a sensor which they replaced once but we needed to pay to have it replaced again! Its ridiculous it literally went in with 0 problems!!! I contacted corporate and we are waiting to hear back from them. Really hope we can get this resolved. Trust me it takes alot for me to go out of my way to leave a review but this is simply unacceptable.

Fast service. Anibal the manager helped me get some new tires. He explained everything I was being charged for. He let me know what kind of tires were best. Explained the warranty. Let me know about my next oil change and the kind of oil needed. I appreciated the good service and communication. I will be coming soon for my next Oil change. Overall great experience and great prices from the products they offer.

They were accommodating. They did everything in a timely manner. I’ve been to some places and breaks and tires take longer than 2 hours. They also informed me about things when they see it. I just took my car to a dealership a week ago for an oil change and I asked the dealership to let me know how my breaks are doing I am going on a road trip in the next week or two. I know a few things about cars and I could tell my breaks were not looking too good, so for the dealership to circle green/yellow is a little worry some. I am glad the the staff at Mavis was upfront and honest with me. I’m driving from Illinois to Colorado and when I saw those breaks I was just thankful that they pointed it out to me. I was fortunate to have some savings put aside, but should that have been an issue they do have a card you could apply for, which in all seriousness that isn’t a bad Idea to have. Car surprises can be stressful, let Mavis help you!

Honest guys, doing honest work.

I called ahead to verify they had time to swap out four tires for me. They said come on in so I did. After an hour of waiting they said I can leave it there and come get it later. After 4 hours I get a call saying they can not mount the tires because they could not get the bead to seal. Which I knew was an absolute load of bologna. So I went and got my truck and took it to a legitimate shop who had my new tires mounted and balanced in 40 minutes. So overall the management or employees are lazy and cannot manage a schedule. Save yourself time and money by finding local non franchise shops with real mechanics and technicians... not part changers!

Waited 3 Hours For A Tire Change. Only To Be Sent Back Out On Road With A Flat Tire. This Company Is Reported To Better Business Bureau.

My wife was give a quote over the phone from the service adviser which did not cover all the items needed for a tire replacement. The quote was under by $20. We would have waited to get the tire replaced because of our budget.

I want to say Manager Robert and his team that worked on my sons jeep today are absolutely wonderful! I wanted a set of tires and got the best price anywhere also when they put it up the radiator was leaking and I already knew that but didnt think they worked on radiators. They quoted me and got my credit extended a little more so I was able to get the work done! All very professional, courteous, I highly recommend this store! Thank you!

I had a great experience at this location.Nebo really helped and did such an amazing job. The whole team was very professional and personable. Ive never actually enjoyed taking my car in anywhere before so Ill definitely be coming back.

They fixed two major issues that were actually created by another mechanic shop. They did a great professional job for us on our suspension and brakes, and they gave us a fantastic price. We definitely recommend Mavis.We thought we had a front end shock/strut problem because the passenger side was suddenly angled about a foot lower then the driver side in front, it wasnt handling good in curves, and even the smallest crack in the road jarred the car terribly. Our previous mechanic had just told us for the third time that the suspension system was just fine.But Mavis found that our previous mechanic put two very different strut assemblies on the rear, one of which was not even for our car. For one thing the springs did not even remotely look alike, passenger side had less than half as many springs as the driver side and the whole assembly was shorter. The strut piston was extended all the way up on the passenger side and the driver side strut was fully compressed. It was a dangerous setup.Were especially impressed with Heizer at Mavis, he gave us money saving coupons on all labor and parts. Heizer also made sure they didnt do any unneccessary work too, like flushing the brake lines because my brother just did that last week, and they fixed a sticky caliper instead of just making us buy a new one.We also had to get a wheel alignment because after they fixed the struts our car was finally sitting properly and the alignment done by our previous mechanic two months ago was NFG. We already knew the alignment was off before we took it in to Mavis.We didnt even get 6,000 miles from new rotors that our previous mechanic put on, it seems that he cleaned up the old pads and reused them when he put the rotors on, then the worn pads damaged the rotors prematurely. All the parts from Mavis are top quality. Thanks to Mavis our car is safe again.

UPDATE: I was contacted by someone from Mavis who said he had spoken with the Vernon Hills manager and they would issue a credit to cover the rebate amount. I contacted the store today and they issued the credit. Happy to see the company addressed the issue with good customer service.Although the signs say NTB, this is no longer NTB. Its Mavis. I had good experiences with NTB in the past but not with Mavis. I went in to buy 4 tires in October. The salesperson suggested Hankook tires and promoted an $80 rebate for a 4 tire purchase. These tires were more expensive than the ones I was interested in but the rebate brought the price down so I went with Hankook. When I paid for the tires, the receipt didnt say Hankook so I asked the salesperson to confirm these tires were eligible for the rebate and he said yes--TWICE. He explained Hankook makes the tires for them so the name in their system is different. I submitted the rebate online per the instructions I received and the rebate was rejected because it was not valid on the tires I was sold. I went back and spoke to Jason, the manager, and he shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do. I pressed the issue but he had no interest in trying to make things right. I will take my business elsewhere in the future. Buyer beware!
